all right everybody Adam and Mike here with just the tips episode 26 of our podcast on location again listen the last episode was so nice outside we had a another great night out here we figured we do it again I loved editing that too it just like it looked good you know it it was cool was open and yeah and we got some extra practice in too so and that’s the whole thing because uh well first sponsors uh Sund dog check them out yeah awesome.com um shaft wraps shaft wraps it up I don’t know this is a little long for uh for the 54 degree I can get it I can get it but uh and then ball Hawker ball Hawker he’s the best shout out to Todd ball Hawker usa.com and uh get your provs for $23 a dozen so um before we get going I know you got a lot you want to talk about but we got we got to address the the elephant in the room what’s the elephant is when this podcast is first aired you’re going to be on the first te of your first amateur tournament yeah yeah how you feeling uh I think I think tonight I had to just chill yeah because we had a match yesterday which will be coming out in in a month yeah um so that was competitive Golf and we you know we won’t spoil it um another good one yeah another great match tons of great shots but uh yesterday was competitive um this weekend is competitive and then tomorrow you want to play a practice round at one of the courses that are going to be in the tournament so I think tonight I had to just shut it off like mentally yeah so is that a fun round yeah chill round um because I know I know what’s coming all right I know what’s coming I’m ready though so um 66 uh participants buying for 35 spots um it’s going to take what what do you think it’s going to take to qualify what what number do you think I think I have 83 in my head just because that’s what you said that’s what was last year yeah but you know we played a practice round there last Friday um front nine for me was rough but again it was like it was kind of like one of these you were out of the car you know yeah jump on the first but the back nine We we played a couple holes on a back nine and I think I got a squared away so I’m I’m I’m hoping to shoot 80 all right that’s my goal I I I think I think 80 81 is going to qualify I think it’s going to be a little bit lower this year because of how many quality people didn’t qualify last year and the fact they’re going to ruin the curve so so out of the 66 there’s 20 that there’s 20 that shouldn’t even be there right right I I hate to say it if you’re one of those 20 and on the high end they they’re they’re you know but we talked about this this is like sorry miles no I’m kiding this is um kidding this is uh this is like if I were to try for the US Open and you’d spend the $500 entry fee and the whole thing and I shot 100 but I was like I tried you know for some people just to say you did it some people they’re they’re they’re out there shooting 90 100 every day and they’re like I’m going to try and qualify for you I think it’s going to take a good solid round that you’re capable of but I don’t care what happens out there I think the experience is gonna open your eyes gonna make regular golf easier I think that’s the main reason why I’m doing this because even if I do qualify I hate to take my spot away from in the heran but I’m not going to play in the herig because I’m cading for you um I think the big thing that I want to do is just get that competitive golf feeling and make regular golf easier and you know whatever but I do want to get a taste of that like standing over that three-footer that you have to make um can’t wait and I just want you to caddy for me I can’t wait you know what and not only we going to caddy but I can’t I’m going to use the DJI and I’m going to record every single shot yeah for po we’ll put it together it’ll be it’ll be awesome I’m really and you know we talked about this uh when during the practice round last week is like I it was very difficult for me to not grab the flag and pull the flag cuz P CAD for seven years and like you were saying we were walking off one of the greens it was like you know everything’s about you you know it’s you know it’s kind of nice and I’m like dude I’ve never had that so it’s GNA be kind of fun yep there you go well like I said uh but coming at you uh you know Sunday Sunday Sunday uh Mike qu tries to qualify for the uh uh for the olster county uh amateur but uh dude I’m I’m pulling for you you’re playing really good uh I saw your trainer today uh your swing coach and he said how’s he doing I said I’m so happy I don’t know what the difference is in the swing but I see what the results are and it went from starting the ball out left of the Fairway and ending up up right of the Fairway to starting out in the Fairway and ending up in the Fairway and I think that’s just gigantic progress and that’s just step one yeah we definitely narrowed it in um I feel better I feel like I’m just like like we talked about before where I was like hitting glancing blows um it’s definitely more solid and my misses are left yep you know what I mean like like that’s still we saw we saw one today that was left holy cow yeah so you’re going to remind me during the tournament but uh all right let’s do a little uh closest to basket all right let’s go you’re we got two baskets out there we got one at 80 one at 92 which one we going let’s go 80 80 okay what club you got uh Wonder wedge Wonder wedge okay all right so this is a one one hop and in I pulled it all right and it’s long oh that’s no but wow that’s not good all right let’s see closest two right closest two yep I mean it’d be easy if you hit it in we’d be able to see it yeah we don’t have to go out there and Pace it off then yeah nobody’s pacing anything off that’s close that’s close oh that’s big hops it did nah you don’t think that’s closer all right all right so all right what else are we talking about so today we want to talk about um a couple of our videos did pretty well and they’re still kind of hitting um I’m still getting a bunch of follows on Instagram and stuff like that on um golf etiquette etiquette etiquette is huge and something I want to like start off with is cuz we’re getting some comments I’m like well why why that like that’s stupid I don’t care if that you know blah blah blah it’s like no these aren’t suggestion these aren’t like suggestions that like you don’t have to do them it’s etiquette so freaking do them right we’re not making these up because like this is what we feel it’s proper etiquette it’s showing respect to your other players and just just just be cool on the golf course and and the other thing is too is we’re very lucky we have a we have a uh uh one of your clients uh who meets us at the gym at 5: in the morning and he wants to teach his family how to play golf and he says his number one concern is is that he’s going to do something wrong on the course right and you know it’s hard to tell him in the gym like it’s better to be out on the golf course and show him we trying to talk to him about not stepping in somebody’s line and he’s like well what if it’s like and you’re like if we’re on the course we just show yeah it’s a lot easier and a lot of times you don’t um you don’t think of something until that thing comes up on the golf course so um but the biggest thing that right now is pace of play yeah right that’s an obvious one that we can talk about for days and we will we’ll be putting out shorts and stuff over that and then um you know kind of like respecting your playing Partners where you’re standing standing on their line standing in the back and things like that so we’re going to talk about that and there is’s a difference between a casual round a jerk around round and totally and you know hey we’re we’re you know you’re you’re a stranger I’m a stranger and we got paired together um it’s a Saturday morning 5510 uh it’s the you know it’s the Club Championship right there’s a whole different set of etiquette rules for each level there now I’ll be honest and people probably don’t get this from some of our videos cuz it almost looks like we’re kind of like up tight golfers but like we’re pretty chill golfers out there like you know I mean obviously we’re not making in each other’s background uh back swing but you know if you’re putting like I can be squatting down on the other side and it’s not bothering you same same but that’s us we know each other’s golf games and stuff like that when you’re playing with somebody that you don’t play with very often I don’t want to say you better be on your best behavior but like just just be cool out there you know what I mean like you don’t want to be so we’ll get into it so we talked about when somebody’s teeing off right where you should stand or where you where to stand right you know so so if I’m teeing off right and and I’m right here part it does it doesn’t really matter you know but here’s the deal all right now we’ll look down the line here Adam’s got a brim so he can see me here obviously you don’t want to stand anywhere in front of this ball um that’s why right um for me personally y you don’t want to stand anywhere behind him because he doesn’t know where you are he doesn’t know how far away you are or anything like that you want to stand back a couple yards and over a couple yards preferably off of the mode T box y if obviously if the T allows it right right so so here’s the question though we talk about Pace to play and if that’s the right thing to do right you got four guys in the group right you wait for the first guy he got a he got a uh he just say is birdie putt but he was the last one to putt and we get up on the tea box and everybody’s kind of conglomerating around again there there’s also a thing you know uh of a little bit of ready golf golf but it’s Al it’s okay to ask somebody hey is you know you know why don’t you I’m going to go I’m going to take I’m going to go over hey hey do you need to take a beat right now because the last thing I want to do is roll off the green onto the tea and then smoke the ball into the water right especially if they’re birdie cuz you know that birdie exactly 177% higher in New York state by the way for definitely for you yeah oh dude tonight I made the birdie on to and and then proceeded to hit a 40 yard drive into the woods on uh on three you still make par there bogey good bogey though um so there is the point of I think ready golf trumps everything right as long as everybody’s cool yeah but and you know obviously not in a tournament obviously not if you got a group in front of you but ready golf is you know listen the guys got to uh clean his clubs or you know whatever he’s got to do coming off of that go you know hey I’m going to go even though I got a seven and you got a four but say something hey ready golf you okay it’s cool if I go um or you can be uh you can be uh Ryan lanor and uh you know and like oh wait oh is your is your T box I think it’s ours I didn’t know what he was saying he get that cuz I was like yeah I think we tied that hole so so here so here’s an interesting one a piece of uh etiquette that um I’m not sure everybody knows if I’m giving you a stroke and uh say we both get a four on the hole right but you’re getting a stroke whose t- boox is it whoever’s tea box it was on the hole before yeah so if I had if I had the Box before and we tied but you got a stroke and win the hole or win the money or whatever it is I still got the T box still your T box gross low score correct gets the T box yes so that was an issue yesterday um that was an issue yesterday is um I think I made a five for four and Ryan made a four we got up on the T box and he it felt like a birdie bir he threw a little jab in there which is fine he was totally right um all right what else so ready Golf out in the Fairway and on the greens so here’s the big one is is two things one is you got to be smart right it’s it’s partially about safety and it’s partially about speed right so if Mike smokes his ball on number one way out to the right but he’s 50 yards behind behind me but I’m way over in the rough on the left it’s okay to walk the 50 yards all the way up on that side and I’m 150 yards away from him you know now I should still keep my eye on him yeah cuz listen if you’ve ever been hit by a golf ball you never want to be hit by a golf ball ever again you know so definitely don’t go up to your ball if you’re in any sort of line that he can hit you right um think think of that dispersion we were talking about is like you knowe exactly and if I’m way over here I’m good even if even if they’re back here so definitely go up to your ball and here’s another thing and we talked about this yesterday even though you know we were out there playing a match is the cart if you’re in a cart with somebody and my ball is here so I park my ball your ball is up maybe 20 20 yards cuz you don’t really out drive any more than 20 yards but if it’s up and off to the side same thing with that cone Do not sit in the cart and wait for me to hit and now I have to go drive the cart up 20 yards just for you to get out again and grab your Club so so it’s so smart you get up there you’re one guy is driving the cart the other guy shoots the pin hey you got 153 you grab your 153 Club get out of the cart I drive up to mine shoot the pin while you’re hitting I’m I’m 125 away I hit my The in a I hit my shot while you’re walking up yeah yeah and or vice versa it’s not about speed it’s about efficiency efficiency yes now here’s another thing you don’t need the rush at all here’s another thing what you could easily do there as well this is the other side of it is if you’re not next to hit if like say like Ryan’s over there and he’s next to hit after me leave the cart here let me do my thing you walk up with your Rangefinder and already decide what you’re going to do without a club gotcha and then I’ll pull the card over because Ryan still got a hit and then you know you pull your Club you already know what you want so let’s do it closest to the pin and then I got a I got an adequate question for you okay all right uh which one you want uh well let’s try to get it somewhat close to the first basket before we move on to the next all right this one’s in it’s got a fade little left but yardage oh that was perfect yardage yeah bounced a little deep but not too bad come on man knock oh I’m trying to throw this in on the fly yeah I know you are throwing up pins oh draw a little no winner winner chicken dinner oh yeah that was close to Second basket second basket y um all right go ahead and ask here’s the question looking for your partners or opponent’s ball oh my God you don’t do it you don’t do it what do you mean I don’t do it what more do you want me to say there you don’t do I can I have been known to um no so so here’s the thing a good example is uh yesterday on uh on four right you and uh and uh one of the opponents were across the Fairway on the right I’m in the woods is right I was on The Fairway mhm they were both on five and you were left right so my ball is in question whether it’s inbounds out of bounds out of the hazard whatever I this R there or whether it’s in the hazard or not right so I’m over there looking who should be helping me if anybody the person last to hit last person to hit should the other guys cross the Fairway come all the way over and take a look no not at all no even if it’s comp competition uh I would say let them find their ball cuz they were they were not on the hole they were kind of in between four and five so they had to find their ball and like whatever and I also told them it’s a little funky over there to get a give themselves a a preferred lie so go find them first and then come over we were carts so that’s fine but if we’re walking yeah I mean go do your thing and if you still haven’t found it yet then maybe come over and give it a glance so I think this is why there’s you know there’s a bit of intelligence to this there’s a there’s a level of of of and common sense because I could be looking for it by myself if the other three guys are potentially in trouble and they’re they’re very far away on opposite sides um if somebody’s dead in the middle of the Fairway and two other guys to do anything nothing then go take a look definitely help if three are in good shape like you’re on a you’re on a par three and three are on a green and one is in the weeds then all four should be taken a look right def cuz it just speeds up the play y or if you if like for your ball I I knew you were gone I didn’t want to get your you know whatever I knew you were and even if it even if we found it I didn’t want you to hit it yeah um well it’s always nice to see where the ball is first to recover the ball and second to get a line of Entry that we well and that’s another thing is then you can all come to a quick agreement of like hey I think this is going to drop here right like it’s gone but I I this is a good line then you all kind of agree if you got to wait for the other guys on the other side like hey guys is this a good spot to drop now you’re taking more time and all that stuff right right so looking for balls question for you how long do you have to look for your ball 3 minutes 5 minutes three three when does it start oh I don’t know me neither does it start so so if it starts when you hit the ball then you better jog down there going it say you it takes you 3 minutes just to get there so it must be 3 minutes from the time you arrive in the vicinity who’s who’s counting this what is there a clock I don’t know I don’t know we don’t have to look that it’s it’s an I never know you got a you got an amateur oh three minutes goes pretty quick too you got to think about that yeah when you’re up to your ears and and rough and and swamp here’s my question are you at all worried that you’re going to run into a a rule that you that you’re that you don’t know the answer to while you’re playing your first amateur tournament on on this weekend yeah no no no that always terrifies me really oh yeah I mean I C for seven years so what if there’s yellow steaks yellow steaks is I don’t know what yellow staks do we don’t have any here yeah we definitely don’t yellow staks is um if you don’t carry the hazard you drop on the other side in line you can go um as far back as you want online of Entry online of Entry through the green so line of Entry through the center of the green straight back not not the line to the T so a lot of people think it’s line to T so they’re like oh well I went out here so now I can go back this way it’s like no you went out this way I just hope I never run into a yellow Hazard well just don’t hit it why is there a yellow Hazard it why aren’t they why isn’t they’re all red you go in you drop it you just keep moving red and white I guess white we all know right um what about um what about provisional play well I had to do that so the question is do you think provisional play speeds up or slows down around uh speeds up I think it speeds up so in amateur play you can call a provisional anytime you want anytime well you’re again this is common sense like if you so I played in an amateur tournament where a guy hit a good shot but it not a great shot and it was in the rough I could see where it went in and he goes I need to hit a provisional I go for what and he goes in case that one’s out I go it’s definitely not out he goes are you sure I go pretty sure and he goes but all he was doing was getting a chance to hit another shot it was like practicing on the hor man he must have done it four or five times really yeah during the course of an 18 dude that’s when you call rules guy over and just be like yo get this guy out of here provisional dude provisional provisional for what though the provisional I wonder I want to provisionally hit another shot so I can I’m going Tois butt to read to get a good read on this in case I don’t find it um all right let’s go again and then I I got a couple questions for you all right here we go same one no let’s go to the far one all right far one 92 yards this one will be a little bit better I think 92 in the guts oh she’s fading a little bit but I think that’s good distance oh no that’s real deep that’s 100 yards wow that’s on the that’s on the green one ouch Wonder wedge get yourself one it’s wonderful oh just as bad just as bad but sure closer to the oh I don’t know that was bad all right but let’s edit that out we know nobody needs to see those jeez all right so pace of play on the green one of the biggest things that I see people struggling with is um because you know that’s where most people’s U Strokes come from is when you’re putting and we we’ll say like the camera is the hole y right um where to stand and what should you be doing and we talked about this in a podcast a while ago um so I’m going to back you up just a little bit because we talked about how long does it take to hit a shot 5 Seconds how long does it take to prepare for a shot 45 seconds you or me yeah so the question is is what the hell are you doing with the rest of your time okay yeah you should be so I’m coming up number two right my ball is on the green right I’m thinking about where am I putting my cart so that when I exit the green right now yeah that that I’m going to my cart putting my clubs back in and and keep moving right hey Doc how we doing y how’d you hit him there you go I hope you’re my partner all right um so but you’re taking a look and you got to take a lot of information in if you’re in a forsome where is everybody what’s my order of play where should my clubs go do I need the chip do I need to um hit my chip then move my cart and get my putter should I leave my my cart get both clubs hit my chip and then the putter like I said but but as you’re walking you’re kind of flying through all that stuff that’s kind of important so well we’ll we’ll we’ll bring it back but as you’re walking up to the green you can kind of see all this stuff assess the situation yeah and again it’s not about being fast you know I was talking to somebody today and they’re like I want to start a speed Golf League I’m like I don’t speed golf speed golf yeah I want efficient golf you know so this is part of and so this is something that I explained to the girls when we went down to Myrtle Beach I said listen um oh the young golfers in general it made me feel better it made me feel better that you said that you had to go through it with Maddie um I had to go through it with them in mini golf I didn’t realize it was going to be the same thing but for real gol I didn’t know until you told me that that made me feel better because I was kind of losing it um but I told them I said listen do not play Fast no like don’t don’t do the fast part on the important stuff do the fast stuff on the other stuff you know what I mean like do that like be efficient so what like what you were just saying about the cart and the clubs and all that stuff is very very important because that those are just seconds that add up you got to talk about it say you’re shooting 90 right that’s 90 times that you could shave off yeah 15 seconds 90 times what does that add up to do the math I don’t know 900 1200 seconds it’s the it’s I don’t know 4 Hour yeah not good at math but this is this is what I told the kids this like a paddock family Credo right is in order to play Fast golf play good golf right well yeah there’s that so so but but what that means is is just to your point is is that I don’t need to rush up to the ball but I need to be efficient when I get to the ball I need to have a predetermined pre-shot routine right you know um you know if you’re a big one for cleaning off your clubs you know you know there there’s things you can do like on the way to the to the sh do two things at once walk and clean your club or or or again you’re getting it in your head hey if I get up there and it’s in the rough should it be this club or this club you know you know where I bring two clubs with you I see people Rush up to the ball and then Rush their decision and make a bad decision then hit a terrible shot and then have to go through the whole thing all over again and I’m like there’s that too there’s a guy who has the double Rangefinder that’s like he chunks a chunks an eight iron then he gets up there and he does Rangefinder again and then he’s like all right let me chunk my nine iron now I was like dude three three uh Rangefinder three practice swings time swing thought yep and there and and and there is nothing wrong with it if you’re efficient in between yep right if you chunk a shot we’ve all done it dude you’re more than welcome to go through your routine again but do it quicker in between yeah um so here’s a question for you all right we’ll get back to ptin here in a second when you’re playing in um in tournaments and you haven’t played in the Club Championship I keep saying your First amateur tournament but you played match play tournaments out here head tohe head do I you when I was an amateur I used to get super nervous when I was having a bad hole and I was holding everybody else up I would freak out and I would take gigantic numbers gigantic because I’m like everybody else is on the green and I’m still over here in this bush there is that there is that that that feeling that like I don’t know like I know that feeling dude I’ve been there you know who’s great at doesn’t care about that Brandon craft Big Bird B Big Bird occasionally hits a bad shot he will take his entire he does he doesn’t care everybody else is there it’s methodical but he rarely hits two bad shots in a row where thing you start scrambling now it’s series of bad shots just snowballs onto itself so um so back to the putting green all right so putting mhm all right we’ll go with pace of play first yeah okay pace of play is is if I’m putting and I’m doing my thing while I’m doing that you should also be doing it and I did it today while you were doing it and I was straight in your line on the other side of the ball you were doing your thing I went up and marked my ball and still did my thing while you were doing it so I got my read I did everything you addressed the ball I walked away so that I wasn’t in your line but now I already have all of my stuff ready to go like I’m good wine everything else yeah so then as soon as you hit your ball as soon as you hit your ball I’m walking back over to my ball putting my ball my mark and putting my ball down and kind of going through my thing here’s a question for you um uh you mark your ball or uh do you leave your ball on the on the green what what what if you’re what if you’re playing partner it’s taking a lot of time or you’re trying to speed things up do you mark and you’re out of the way like you’re they’re dead on you you’re at a at uh 3:00 depends on the person um I would probably mark it cleaning off there put it back down but leave the ball and the mark there ball and the mark so so that’s my thing is is that the reason we’re marking the ball is to to avoid it being hit but I I get it I think some people think that the reason we’re marking the ball is to take the visual ball out of the out of the space right I marked that ball because if they hit my ball on the putting green that is it still a penalty I thought they changed that rule I if you’re on the green and they’re on the green it is a penalty penalty but again if I’m I mean unless they’re aiming at me if they got a 20ft putt and I got a 25 foot putt but we’re at a you know a 45 Dee angle to each other I’ll put my ball down especially if I’m using the The Guiding lines to to line up the angle because I know that takes a couple of seconds as long as you’re not affecting them so that’s the next part that we got to talk about is where should you be standing now again Brim the hat right you’re not I’m listen there’s somebody hitting on the Range over there I cannot see them so if I’m putting the only things I can see is I can see the tripod that this camera’s on I can see a little bit of this grass here I can see this box I can see your your push cart right there my push cart that’s about it dude you stand anywhere else I don’t care if you’re tap dancing over there so my thing is is this is where I want to stand when you’re putting see this does two things for me one is I know I’m 100% out of your periphery and two I can get a good Peak at what’s going on over here well definitely if your ball is somewhere close to mine totally like whatever even if it’s not I want to see what this ball does say say I’m say I’m on the opposite side I want to see what this thing does as it travels up the hole and you can’t as an opponent you can’t stand there and and you can’t stand on my through line and as a partner I can yep right used to be able to and CAD so the best spot to stand you know and again I’m not going to be in the guy HIIT pocket but back here a comfortable respectable distance away and being able to take a good hard look at what’s going on over here plus he can’t see me can’t see right it’s it’s the win-win I can see like with my head down I can see maybe a foot onto that mat so even if you were I could see you there so obviously don’t stand there if you were on the other half of that mat that would be fine too or anywhere like out over there and to be honest I I don’t care even if somebody was on my through line I really wouldn’t care unless I was like I’ve had people call me on it yeah call them on it I’ve had people call me on where I was standing I’ve had people call me on um on my partner uh checking out my my line yeah um here was an interesting one uh we were playing a member guest a couple years ago so it’s a two twom man uh best ball uh my partner’s basically out of the hole I got a 20-footer to win the hole he’s 2 feet right in front of me on the line 18-footer and they give him the Putt and I said no we don’t we don’t want the putt they say you got to take the putt you kind of have to I think you have to you 100% so they can seeed the putt you got to take it he can’t putt that putt so I can’t see the line for my partner kind of interesting no and that’s that’s a smart play on their play yeah yeah Y and here’s another thing uh what’s the other rule like if somebody gives you a putt and you still putt it oh it counts yeah so so that’s etiquette there’s there’s I don’t think there’s anything hard and fast because there’s no such thing as a gimme right even even in match play um you know if they give you the putt you got to you got to pick it up you know yeah yeah yeah yeah I mean you can lose the hole if you putt out a putt that they gave you like oh I want to see what this one does you know and you make it doesn’t matter and you make it they already gave it to you but if you make it doesn’t matter you like it’s a penalty yeah y lost a hole Yeah so but here’s the um here’s what I was getting at was is in Etiquette if somebody gives you the putt you have to take the putt don’t don’t get up there and oh I’ll just tap tap taparoo you know and and make it cuz one is is they’re they’re they’re saying Hey listen you got that it could be for um gamesmanship it could be like hey I’m going to give him three four three Footers and then when it comes to putt one he hasn’t been able to to to put one in a while could be you know or like Putt and just put it in your pocket and move on yeah that’s what you need to do yep that’s good good away we go yeah right yep all right all right let’s go let’s go let’s get a one close to the P here we look like crap all right same one back back one yeah yeah that’s deep oh the Wonder wedges in right on it but yeah little left I would dropped it on it but uh all right should to hit a ball that’ be good try the face of the club this time yeah that is good oh and it’s in on the flly get deep get deep get deep that’s right there though that’s winner though all right we will we need one more uh one more one more okay all right you can go first all right like I said I’m getting I’m going to have to switch clubs here in a second and get the rang finder out that’s a good one nicely done a little left no that’s dude that’s long dispersion yeah just killing it tonight this person at his finest right there I’m putting this club away this thing is uh it’s been a long day you just don’t know how to dial it down maximum results dude that’s short little short dialed it down too much all right forget it all right one more thing forget it yeah walking on people’s lines yeah marking your ball through lines all that stuff so so I I wish I knew the guy’s name there’s a guy on YouTube that uh uses the stemp meter for for all kinds of different stuff and like the some of the classic ones are uh does a matte ball travel differently that’s classic for you yeah there’s a matte ball uh well like I said these are the ones that people bring up all the time hey did you see that one with the guy at the stem meter and he did the Matt balls and the mat balls didn’t roll as Fu what’s the difference between a Prov and a prov1x well he also does like a little bit of dirt or grass on your ball dude it makes it differ so he did one with the stepping with with spikes with spikes and you know and no spikes and sneakers and what was the result makes a difference wait I saw nothing no difference are you serious yeah soft spikes no spike it must be an iPhone thing yeah no definitely with Spike definitely made a difference made a difference all right I’ll have to rewatch that yeah rewatch that one cuz we’re watching this guy like it’s gospel like this is biblical like well he comes out with some pretty good ones he talks about like he Al he talks about would I roll my cart across your line how’s that affected I don’t know we should ask him to do that one but if you got your cart on the green you’re an idiot yeah um so no so so General line right so think about like I don’t know I don’t know what kind of width we’re talking about but you know I feel like it’s like 18 in like what you’re showing there like like like from here to camera here don’t step on it right obviously if your ball is in the way do your best to kind of do you know one of these but don’t step on it and also your your goal right as a as a as a better player is you want to get the ball your misses are past the hole right so don’t be trampling on the grass on the other side of the cup either obviously you got to get your ball you know so it’s funny like right now the greens even though it’s been raining they’re pretty firm right like we’re not fixing a lot of ball marks but you do play courses where the cour you know or soft days where I’m telling you you leave Footprints out there and you can see the indentation of your footprint so the one of the things that I do on the first hole to check green firmness is when I’m down reading my P I’m a big guy right so I’m putting some pressure into this green I’m read my putt do my thing I’ll get up and St back I’ll look here to see what kind of prints I have made Y and see kind of like you know what’s what the day is going to be like so I will notice that on the first hole just to be like all right these are going to be soft be careful where you’re walking and all those things right I just do that because but that’s what we’re getting at is is that you know you might say oh the line’s exactly here I mean first off the the person you’re playing against the opponent might not think that’s the line right yeah and then secondly if you start getting close to it you could put a dent in there you know kind of change the level and things like that just stay away from it it’s just an etiquette thing again what about uh what about jumping over the line so again if necessary yeah but um again you don’t know my line what’s so hard about just going around so we used to have a thing with the kids that we would tell the kids a green costs $100,000 to produce right to to build a green the right way it’s six figures easy right so think of the think of the green like a Lamborghini right like a $100,000 car you wouldn’t be jogging and tap dancing all over the car right you treat it gently you treat it with respect you don’t jump over the lines I’m I’m telling you it’s you know take your only the only time I do something like that is um if we got if we got like three players um kind of like triangular and my ball somewhere like inside of it I’ll get close to the pin and do like kind of like a bigger step over to like something like that so like if that’s the hole and everybody’s kind of got it surrounded right and you know my my opponent’s here I’m here I just knocked it over there yeah your ball’s like your ball’s like over here I might do one of these yeah to to get you know AC and you’re you’re not anywhere near anybody’s line but I’m not jumping I’m not dancing I’m not infringing I’m still giving you a look though when you do that I’m be like really no I’m just kidding um yeah I mean and listen guys H you know I back to I know you I know you hate on me when I when I rip into like the comment section but like Let It Go these aren’t these aren’t like soft suggestions yeah like the one where the stand on the tea box if you watch if if if you’re a golfer and you watch golf on TV I don’t care who you are if you if you like to play the sport you had to watch the Masters yeah those guys aren’t standing direct it’s not an optional thing they’re not standing back here while you’re teeing off they’re off and to the right Y and watch it and here’s the deal if there’s a lefty in the group go to the other side now if you’re all standing over there and there’s one Lefty in a group not a big deal sorry Jess kov I would back up if there’s a lefty I would back up more if I’m still over backing to the right I would just back up more yeah so like I said I mean but as a cadd dude I’ll tell you as a caddy if if you’re righty and you’re hitting that way so go ahead and hit that way and I’m over here right as a caddy go ahead and be Lefty hitting that same way I no lie I will come over here one because as a caddy I need to watch that ball right I need to watch that from there to there if I’m behind you I’m going to lose it through your body for a second and I might not pick it back up again so I need to watch that gotcha gotcha and really you should be doing that with your playing partner you should be watching watch your partner’s balls oh here here’s one for Pace to play too and it took me a long time to figure this one out was um the uh uh using a point of reference to where the ball goes oh I saw the ball going third tree the the one that’s extra dark green yeah just keep an eye on it man yeah but but I forget by the time I get up there I get talking to somebody I’m thinking about my shot say right away and then I go where the hell did it go right say it right away be like listen I saw it kind of going near that third tree I didn’t see it when it was down but that’s the line I had y you know and then go to your ball but if you know whatever again we talked about that before too but um you know it’s just it’s just pace of Play It’s etiquette it’s a friendly game um one more thing dude no jeans no cargo shorts tuck your shirt in yeah no backwards hat on FR with Eric I will tell talking to I will tell you I wear my hat backwards in the gym y everywhere else besides here yeah you grew up in the ’90s I wore my hat backward SL biscuits and I I have cargo shorts okay and I don’t tuck my shirt in okay show some respect when you come to the golf course tuck your shirt in don’t wear cargo shorts my other our other buddy Eric who’s on the channel sometimes he wears cargo shorts and we’re going down we’re going to play Ocean course and I’m like no cargo short bring a bring a bring a real pair of shorts we were we were at uh a Jack Nicholas course Mansion Ridge down in Monroe and with a buddy of mine and he had a t-shirt it was and it was a golf t-shirt it was like a Travis Matthews and they’re like no they made buy a shirt 100 bucks good there’s a there’s a country club in Virginia I don’t know what it’s called you guys let us know um you you can’t wear shorts really got to wear pants this in Virginia yeah it’s a it’s a like it’s a it’s a high-end public horse might be private but guest whatever always called hidden balls right is the name of the place this guy this this the head pro there sells more pants than any other any other head pro in the country CU you show up you got a nice pair of shorts on he’s like no no and here here’s here’s $200 pair of pants that you can I love all right let’s go all right front basket front basket I can hit either with this but this is a little bit better here we here we go shaft wraps 54 80 yards edit that oh my God I’ll get my I’ll get my uh my 54 stop it today oh here we go o short that’s got to go big bounce online though Big Bounce Big Bounce that’s right front shaft wraps shaft wraps let’s go Jack actually asked me the other day if this was a weighted Club goes is that one of those weighted clubs I’m like no it’s a sticker they uh oh something else Jack told me too you hit your shot is it about me uh everything’s about it that’s good looking too let’s go 54 de short and left yeah I got to put a little more on that all right I got to hit that shot that I hit on from one to T to two green oh yeah that was awesome it was good so Jack said um do you know the difference between a a D1 weight and a D2 weight how much how much it what the oh the actual diff no it’s the equivalent of a dollar bill he says that’s the swing weight and he says if you put $2 down it’s two swing weights he goes so if you can feel that yeah he goes you know but there’s a great story about Tiger Woods uh getting three clubs from Nike and they’re like which one did you like the best and he’s like the one that’s heavier he’s like they’re all the same weight so no there’s one of them is heavier and I like that one better and when they took the clubs apart they found a piece of epoxy that had gotten down into one of them and tiger could feel that little microscopic difference right most of us can’t can you I no so I will tell you so so this adds one swing we I will tell you like me and tiger we were talking the other day and having this on there makes it feel a little bit um like uh I don’t know uniform of weight okay like it just feels overall instead of like head heavy it feels a little bit like it’s spread out through the whole club which I really really like ex I just like my shot here oh man amate tournament on Sat that’s the hip though so this is what I did the other day yeah right so I had a terrible range session here before our match you did too and you and you were sweating dude I you lost your keys you were you were the last one to the course your rain session was dooo I put probably 10 into the net and oh yeah yeah into that net not that net the one guarding the range not the not the let me specify and uh I I felt rushed I thought we were on the tea cuz it was busy here and there was like a line at the first te and um so I go over to putt and I look at the clock and I’m like oh we still got 20 minutes I’m like let me just grab my eight iron come back over here I hit eight shots and all I had to do was get this hip out of the way so what I was doing I was lunging again and freaking hle rocking them so I just had to clear this hip again and uh dude I hit eight pure eight irons I was like all right let’s go let’s go let’s get up get up there that you know I’ll tell you maximum Results fitness the extent of this of this club used to be 75 yards last year now I’m hitting 3/4 to 80 well let’s not get too crazy I don’t think you got it to 80 yet I just pulled it and just dropped the microphone that’s okay mik drop let’s go all right last one all right last one I don’t know if I’m on camera right now but let’s see closest to the pin the magnet’s down my shirt oh that’s pretty sweet yeah all right last one all right and then we’re out last one of the night we got to we got to go so here we go we’ve wrapped up for the night I’m at him I’m Mike just the tips so
