hi folks it’s Tino here with the final whistle show joined here this Sunday evening by Paddy is Celtic become double champions of Scotland yet again after another special day at handen Paddy how you feeling first of all after that one and delate would be the best word I could use H to describe that um currently think about my over SC after this after this got so but most importantly a very very happy man day um just yeah we we are very very spoiled of this before very spoiled as supporters at the moment and um just just BR seen again and just a a brilliant occasion I love I love Scottish Cup finals I love the the day out I love the before don’t know about the Jordan yesterday but certainly the after was a was a great day so yeah just just so C all in it’s absolutely Bry is you know so think I’ve got this special thing with the Scottish cup haven’t they P yesterday was marking 150 years of the Scottish cup to got the record holders of the trophy I think it’s 42 times now after yesterday but so many of all of us everyone here everyone tuning in on the live here uh our favorite memories Celtic wise will be around Scottish Cup finals you know folk will speak about van hon in 95 you know I know that’s one of your favorites against ER kind of during a baron spell for Celtic you’ve got that Tom roic moment what a what a special moment in the famous image of Craig Gordon dropping to his knees you’ve got centinary Cup finals in 88 the Joe Cup Final 89 and you can add the Adam EA Cup Final to that list py yeah you can you can and I think just you know Cup games are brilliant and if you go and win 3 four now in a final is it’s a great occasion the party started during it but moments like that yesterday um when we’ve not played our best um to go to go and take it like that at the end is is absolutely magnificent um and just I think I always kind of think back to those moments when you’re you’re standing whoever you’re standing next and you hope it’s your friends but sometimes you end up with ticket alone as well if you get that Split Second just to take it all in and just look at the limbs the full stand it’s just incredible it’s an incredible moment think a lot of our fans at that point thought job done um but I I watched the unique Ang go back I’ve posted about it on Twitter and K McGregor absolutely BR just no no no no head head in the game here straight to the players cam them and actually you watch the celebrations from Eda as well ‘s went crazy but then he just switches back into game mode because they know there’s time they know there’s still time left so the best I’ve seen from them with that this season considering the amount of goals we’ve lost straight after scoring I think that’s a really important point you make Pad and I was going to bring up because Adam rightly temporarily loses his head you score a 0th minute one on a cup final he’s a boy from Ireland he’s clearly got a passion for Celtic and he has his moment and there’s some stunning photos of him making his way to the crowd but the NH checks himself it’s almost like he switches back into game mode as we all know there was what eight minutes injury time to be played that game wasn’t done in dust at that point and in the gesture from car McGregor at the time he’s pointing to the the wrist you know pointing to the watch to the fans there’s time here we need you but you know we’ve still got a a big shift to go and I think his mentality as much as anything that’s get Celtic over this line this season of course I think our manager spoke about that you know an 80% thing I’d say it was probably a 100% thing when you look at yesterday’s performance um some crazy narratives getting floated about though I have to say like I’m reading a lot of people saying that Rangers were the better team yesterday I’m not having it I’m not having it I wouldn’t say Celtic was were the better team I think it was both teams nullifying each other um but we we took a chance when it came and and I think that you know it’s it’s very easy for us to to get down the line and say Rangers played well Rangers stopped Celtic playing that’s that was the first thing they done and they didn’t do anything else after I can’t remember many Joe heart saves yesterday so I wouldn’t necessarily say that they were the better team um so I still feel good about winning that yesterday I don’t think it was a smash and grab I think it was a no you know what we ground it out at the end I would agree with that in my naal assessment of the game you know we know that Celtic weren’t the free flowing best far from it you know we just didn’t quite click at different times and it’s easy to say you know we got away with or something of that nature there’s a good comment pad it kind of Echoes what you say it’s from Martin Linton Martin’s a good friend of the show he says Rangers bored the game to death by nullifying anything we did that was their Euro game plan yesterday he’s convinced that’s the case they can’t beat us at a real game otherwise and I think that’s bang on if if Rangers tried to go to to to with Celtic we would kill him we really would would be over them and I suppose from that point of view Philip clont is is well entitled to do whatever he wants you know to try and win a game of football but it’s kind of the age old thing with Celtic and Rangers Celtic famed you know for you know playing the cliche the Celtic way you’ve got to play football you’ve got to entertain all these things Rangers and you’ve seen it historically under you know guys like wter Smith and others they don’t care if it’s you know a joy to watch or like that if they need to just park the bus and do what they do then that’s the approach they’ll take and I think we’ve seen a fair bit of that I’m just going to up to another couple of comments part there’s some great comments coming in um lots of folk watching on the live just now we really appreciate that there’s a nice comment from Ronnie Ronnie glavin Ron says first post I just want to say the last few months you’ve became part of my life H here at the Celtic exchange which is great to hear Ronnie just like Celtic I’ve been since my first game at dens Park in 1966 so what’s that 50 a lot of years ago P 58 years 58 years ago do you know what Sunday night after I cut fin is not the time for maths Paddy so we’ll let somebody tell us um and Ronnie saying his dad hated football but he knew that he loved Celtic and thanks to his dad great comment um a comment from Steven Lynch I think he’s referring to meth here Steven says you should listen to meth more often he told you it’d be a tight game put some respect on his name even nothing but respect call we’ll go for be another the comments are great it really helps myself and py today but on all the shows that myself and the guys do so please do keep them coming between now and the end of the episode py let’s take it back to the start um you know as I say huge occasion and we spoke in the pre-match on Thursday tonight it was us askam and James about not playing the occasion you know play the the game at hand but it’s hard not to there’s such a a hype around this fixture the buildup all week how are you feeling yourself in the approach to the three o’cl kickoff yeah listen I I was um I was quite calm about it to be honest and I always get nervous with these games of course I think H as fans it’s just it’s ingrained on us to to you know be up and down throughout the full week leading up to a game against Rangers um for me I thought that the the occasion itself I thought the players actually done really well in it um and I think that looking at as throughout I kept on saying it it’s going to come we needed to it a little bit in certain points I think certain players kind of were a bit off it yesterday um but that’s because what they come up against was effectively the the the same kind of tactics that Rangers will employ in Europe uh don’t get beat try not to get beat and if you’ve put a team into that position where that’s what they do to try and contain you you’re then going with 10 other teams and the in the top League to try and do the same against us as well so um it’s like the Espanola vacations really starting to take take note in that one um but it was it was interesting it was just interesting to watch their their approach to it um they were trying to just get in our faces they were trying to like nigle at as much as they can and they were successful at points but it just shows you that mentality that winning mentality is at that team and I have to say massive credit to poo Bernardo um to stay in his feet um after the tackle from Rasin as well because he knew I’ve got so much space here I’m going to do something with us and yeah just bre brave for him to bring the ball forward like that I’ve seen Celtic over the years in those final moments a game sometimes not with that color Instinct um and I just thought I it was excellent from him and then the movement for the Big Man actually off the ball to pull away from his Defender and then get himself into that position and do what all good Striker doing for the L 100% P you’ve gone all ahead of our and get excited you’ve gone straight to the goal you’ve gone Ave a minute 90 we’re only eight minutes in here and we left the cup after it was great we’ll get to there just shortly um in terms of the team so no no football ingenius uh you know in terms of predicting the the lineup it was it was pretty clear that was going to be the 11 uh and that’s what Brendon Rogers has gone with on the day any issues with that couple of players by their own high standards wen’t the best I think it’s okay to say that R wasn’t great on the day M really I thought started fairly well and and then kind of di but overall do you think it was a right call first of all yeah I think it was the right team to play um I think again um we this team has played against them how many times now this season and um and if we get that starting to living up against them it’s very likely that we’re going to go and win the game um I think back to the the game at I broos and you you look at a l that day as well that first half I thought were were excellent without K McGregor but games like that yesterday shows you why he he’s got to be on the park all the time for me to know I thought he was um for me our best player yesterday um a couple of moments he was getting caught up um and what I was from that was there seemed to be like a bit of sluggishness from and in terms of moving into the right position for for the to receive the ball um and it it meant that Rangers were Rangers were almost two on every man at every point I think that’s what their game plan was is to make sure that they were they were pushing as as much as they can and it was a success for them yesterday I wouldn’t I wouldn’t take that away from them but as I said that can’t be you having a good game that can’t be you need to be able to get into the box you need to be able to create chances and they just can’t do it they don’t have that ability especially against us yeah yeah I think so you’ve mentioned H cak as you know a key player I thought Alistair Johnson played a huge part yesterday I thought he was aggressive physical up for the battle and sometimes when you’re not playing at your best in the the creatives you know the meles and the Reales if they’re not having their best game you sometimes need to to fight your way Victory good teams always find out way win and I think Al Johnson was a big part of that bu yeah I think so too couple of Ry moments and I’m putting it down to the occasion H some poor passing in the first half but second half he just stepped up I think a lot of them really really settled into the occasion um and the wakeup call from the the disallowed goal as well um was would have helped them as well but Johnston for me is um L said I think he’s not been probably what we would have expected from him this season at certain points but as we’ve mentioned he didn’t really get a full preseason due to his injury he came back he still looked miles off it to be honest um and I think the winter break came at the right time for him I really did and from the second half of the Season he’s kicked on he’s been he’s been massive for us actually a player that that you know there’ll be clubs looking at him you know and another worry about trying to replace someone like aliser Johnson I would go as far as to say I think he’s better than yanovich I really would I think he’s um I think he’s the next Lev yanovich brings it up to the same level again he’s um his assists and he’s he’s um comfortable kind of in in tough situations comfortable with pressure on him I I think that’s what makes him a good player but for me Johnston gives you 110% every game and he’s absolutely brilliant yeah I think on top form he’s a he’s a brilliant fullback and still a young man you know still a guy that that can continue improve and hopefully I can just have a good break now that the LA need the break P it’s been I’m I’m exhaust then have not done nothing so you can imagine how the players are feeling after the last three four five weeks and Beyond it’s been a it’s been a huge Collective effort but it’s also mentally draining you know having to stay so switched on so focused keep your councel when others are talking nonsense and that’s credit to guys like alist Johnson Kum McGregor and all the boys in that dressing room um in terms of you know match action you Celtic certainly controlled possession someone had given a possession start there I think it was something like 60% possession to 40 over the piece and that you know that’s no smash and grab you know you’re not smashing and grabbing if you’ve get that kind of possession throughout the game but what we did like and actually I think both side both sides in that first half there weren’t any clear cut chances were there there was a couple of half chances had W in the half F it’s been cleared by Davis I think aheer kyogo NE on the end of a couple we’ve not really had that Killer Instinct in the final third on the day have we no we haven’t and that’s what I say I think sometimes the occasion can catch some players up as well it’s um we we definitely didn’t settle uh the way we we can do and it was their game plan as I say to stifle us um we we still kind of look to get the ball on the deck and play football as best as we can but as I said a couple of players just maybe getting caught up in the moment yesterday um and it would be good reflection for them and looking back of making themselves available for the pass a lot quicker I thought that that’s where hat and really let himself um down a little bit for that yesterday um couple of times seen the like um Johnston McGregor and even C viers at times cutting FR frustrated figures because of that and one guy I actually thought that they done very well we keep Qui yesterday was D maer I think uh a couple of times you get in behind um but ultimately the only balls getting into my were balls over the top and I know that’s that’s part of the plan for for them I know he he thrives on running on him but I would have lik to seen it come in his feet a bit more as well and see what he could do but um for for the life of me I couldn’t understand why James Forest didn’t want to press yumas on the on the wing as well he kept cutting in and I was a little bit unsure to that I was talking to something of the boys during it and Yas looked as if he was limping for the one goal um and I know that obviously they’ve kind of rushed him back into things so I don’t know what the plan was there before us I don’t know if he maybe didn’t think he could take him but I would like to seen a we bit more Forest against sh yesterday maybe so I thought a decent game James Forest um someone poting out that he made his first tackle in 15 years as a pro footballer yesterday if you seen that where he made the slide tackle and picked up the yellow card um a decent game but he wasn’t as impactful as he has been in recent games um one thing was certainly you know affected his was K McGregor picking up that first half yellow card for me it seemed to be much of a muchness between him and Todd canville and I I think overall Nick Walsh should a decent game I don’t have any huge complaints there’s a couple of fils I thought could have got the other way but you’ll always get that but McGregor picks up he’s yellow I think it’s in the 41st minute there and that means he’s walking a tight rope throughout the whole second half there was a couple of moments where You’ seen them breaking whether it was Dio Mandy or otherwise and Kum McGregor’s just had to jck him he’s he’s been unable to go and fully commit to the tackle you know because of you know picking up the earlier yellow and it does affect what what K McGregor can do and that’s a huge part of his game py oh absolutely um I still think he mared it pretty well [ __ ] I thought that he he looked after in the second half he Lo he looked after those little breakout areas as much as he possibly could but what he did do um kind of seen it a lot of the time especially if they were maybe breaking um for many of their attacks what if he was highlights back I see McGregor a couple of times with Johnson and with Taylor saying tuck him with me at points just kind of break that area down a bit um I think that yeah you’re right between the two of them yesterday I I would wouldn’t say Walsh should a great game to know I think uh some good decisions but I still think sometimes referees need to let a game like that flow a little bit and I thought he was again stopping it and starting it a little bit too much um for me they like I said there was going to be niggly fouls yesterday that’s what they wanted to do they wanted those little free kicks because they just that’s the only way that they could possibly get a result against is it’s destructing what we try and do which is play football so it’s a tough one yeah you know I agree with that it’s part of their approach and the the niggly fils and the breaking up of play it just disrupts our flow that’s our thing big hand in surface there um perfect conditions for good football but we couldn’t really get into our stride at different points and that’s as I say it’s Rangers progress the Celtics challenge to break that down isn’t it that’s the that’s the thing I seen someone tweeting earlier on about Rangers are slowly but surely turning into every other club in the Scottish Premiership in terms of they just try and grind out against Celtic at this moment in time and they comment on Twitter was saying the only thing they’re stopping short of saying is I we won’t be judged in our games against Celtic this season which is what everyone else says Rangers are maybe nudging their way back into that bracket but we’ll get to some of the the stats and records and different things towards the end of the peace party so half time nothing each my my four line four now score line same as you actually Four now score line was looking in jeffardy at that point but how are you feeling ahead of the second half again I kind of felt I was okay I was more just of the opinion just like take up a few gears and and and start to put them under a bit of pressure um I thought pressing yesterday wasn’t the same but I’m seeing a good few comments here in the chat people saying that the park looked heavy can kind of agree with that and I think a bit of it wasn’t roasting yesterday but it was a warm enough day as well there was a few heavy legs it’s the 50th game of the season too so not expecting them would be chasing absolutely everything down but um as a fan you’re kind of just you would want them just to up it a little bit more um as I said I think it was yeah a few people off the boil yesterday makes sense for the kind of performance we turned done in my op yeah um P they make a change at halftime Sea comes on for deser Sea’s a pretty dangerous player he struggled for Fitness don’t know what happens to him now as he go back to to Brighton he’s obviously on loan at the moment and it’s Des that goes off for him Des has taking all sorts of grief times this season and rightly so he’s missed some huge chances over the campaign he had one big moment in the first half I think it’s C that’s down the right hand side he’s cut it back Des has got out his feet and he’s going to get a strike away and you have seen three Celtic Defenders throwing themselves at it you know was a real effort I think it was scales C Vickers and mat were all putting their body on the line for it and then C viers reacts to clear it and you’ll have seen Des going down looking for something in the box but it was a huge moment for C because it was so so important to make the block and then the clearance at that moment in time and he had another moment in the second half you know the one I’m talking about they’ve cut across the face of goal he’s facing Joe H he knows there’s danger behind him he doesn’t know exactly where and it’s class defending he’s he’s basically ushered out for a corner and if he doesn’t see is on for a tapping and I think there were two huge moments in the context of the game pad you and I were chatting briefly beforehand and you think defensively as much as anywhere else that’s where Celtic won this game yesterday yeah I do I think um as for as it’s going back to that point I was making earlier on a lot of people saying that Rangers were the better team um that narrative trying to be created from from them themselves for me I thought we defended really really well and again it kind of pulled me back to that performance uh the 2-1 Victory under Ranch where cat Vier scoring and just everything was on the line that they just knew right soak it up we can play football we can we can beat this team if we want but just so-call their pressure up because all they have is long balls into the box or long balls in behind and listen I’ve seen the comments about Li scales kind of coming out as well right after the game for me I thought Li scale was done really well in terms of blocking those long balls in or any anything try to get in behind us he he was he was matching he was meeting the headers and I thought Greg Taylor was excellent in the second half yesterday as well the aliser Johnson and c and cers on that right hand side are massive for us you know and they gave us a platform they gave us a very very strong platform and we such a a busy player like K McGregor in front Anything could happen anything could happen for knock down to him and you know it just goes to show how how quick we were in the press and I know I’m going to go back on the the goal here but how quick we were from one of those transitional moments as well we’re ready for that because we play against it week in week out yeah and you know you need to have both sides to your game as I said earlier on you can’t always rely on the the kogos the aelis the hattis the the forward- minded players the creative players the football was very much about what you’re doing defensively first and foremost and that’s what that’s what sets up your foundation to then go on and win and from Joe Hart out to the the back four those boys have picked up a clean sheet yesterday and I think it’s very hard to be critical and I would agree with you there was some criticism for Liam skilles online in the hours after the final whistle and for me that’s unacceptable it’s really unacceptable it’s a young guy who’s he’s a heart and soul kind of player Liam skills I think he does have his limitations but I think he’s he’s a decent player he can be very proud of what he’s done and what he’s achieved this season I had a guy last night in person saying ah he’s you I’m better player than him blah blah blah and I’m thinking G Pete the guy’s picked up a league A League winner he’s a pro footballer he’s made it as a pro footballer he’s an international footballer he’s now picked up a league and cup d double and someone said in the comments other on put some more respect on myth’s name I think we need to put some more respect on Liam skill’s name just for what he’s achieved I’m not saying he’s a world beater and I I think potentially he’s not the f for Celtic next season moving forward but you need to respect all these players for what they’re doing P they’re they’re putting their bodies on the line they’re given the all and I think if you’re pulling on a green and white shirt you deserve the respect and the support from every one of us without without a doubt and I think has been that support from our fans from the the get go from the moment of the the Hearts 2-0 game I think it was a bit of a rally cry for for a manager from then and everyone’s bought into it you know the players should receive everyone’s respect after after the end of the season it’s been a tough year there has been limitations on not just lean scales in several positions this year we’ve tried and tested quite a lot um so for me to go into a break we’re going to our summer thankfully the Euros are on sunay watch but my God I’m I’m ready for I’m ready for a f break this year I think uh it was brilliant from them what was that 25 25 games one defeat and the running there yeah I think lost just once in the last 25 games that that’s what wins your titles party you know had Top Gear at the right time in the campaign um terms of the you know with spoke about the stop start nature of the game in general and certainly you see more of that in the second half how many yellow cards do you think were dished out in the second half alone so just one yellow card in the first half K McGregor how many in the second I’m Tak a start you’re seven 11 11 wow 11 let me see four five five for Rangers six for Celtic that’s a lot of cards that’s a and that’s the thing I suppose you know referees will generally try and keep the cards in their pocket in the early stages of the game and in the first half because once you start dishing them out you need to start putting them out across the board because if you give one for one you need to give one for the other but that is what I thought Nick Welsh fell short yesterday my biggest G with him was that Todd can’t should have picked up a a yellow at least for persistent fing several times on K McGregor and he then only gets the yellow for bad daf we boy when he get subbed off and at that point the biggest contribution he can make to the game is to push Greg Taylor and I think that says it all about a a guy like him he’s got some decent Talent you can see he’s quite comfortable on the ball and all these kind of things but what impact does he really have when it matters when does he score when does he assist in the big games the answer is that he doesn’t and the biggest thing he can then do is turn a bit of a bit of a show Pony and play up to the kind of the victim type thing that he feels he’s got going on and actually I’ve got to respect Philip clemont for pushing can’t well away from the referee at the end of the game you have seen the clip and clont looked really pissed off at him because it looked like can’t well was just try to lean into the referees being the reason they never won the game the referees have nothing to do why Rangers you know fa to win again Rangers have failed to win five times against us this season and to Todd cells had an opportunity to get involved across those games and like his teammates he’s done nothing so I think it’s just really cheap for him to try and exit the game in that way and rightfully picks up his yellow for being daed um let’s get to Rangers disallowed goal pad it’s such a huge moment in the game isn’t it it’s just on the hour mark and we are I didn’t I didn’t get where you where you were watching from we were in D3 and the North Stand D3 so you’re kind of um facing the Celtic dugouts if you like so you’re pretty far away from that corner coming in can’t really see anything that’s going on certainly couldn’t pick up the the push at the time but what I did think was that joart was fuming he was adamant there was something that had gone on and he chased Nick Walsh about 40 50 yards to let him know and got his own yellow card for that but what was your own take what was your own feeling at the time did you get a decent view on it were you were you nervous what was your your thoughts I never got a good view of myself I thought that um it was just he was stuck under it and I thought that what he was hoping for was losing the ability properly jump for it um because it just looked as if it was quite crowded that was the aame yesterday get it as close into Jo hard as as possible thought he done well with a lot of his crosses yesterday a couple he could have caught um I’m not going to be too hard on him considering that’s his last game um but I thought that for me he um I don’t think he does that just for no reason I don’t I think he would accept right you know what I’ve I’ve messed up there I’ve lost a goal um um but when I watched it back because I watched it a few times I kept watching it and I’m like no it’s it’s very soft it’s very soft but then if you look at it for a Keeper’s point of view his feet have left the ground is at that moment he’s about to probably get a claim on the ball and he’s been change his directions been changed from the contact so it’s a definite fil it’s a definite fail the thing that I would say I have an argument on notino is Greg Taylor been all over asking I think that was stupid for Taylor at the corner so just before Rasin gets away from Taylor to make the push watch it Greg Taylor’s hands are all over him it’s it’s clumsy and it could easily been a penalty for that yeah do you know what you’ve got to be so careful and and if nothing else you know depending regardless what’s going on elsewhere in the game at corners and set pieces you almost can’t do anything in the box now because everything is potentially apparently you’ve got to be so careful and I agree with your assessment there I don’t think there’s much force in the push rasan but heart’s up as a goalkeeper and if you get any sort of impact in the back is going to affect what you can do I think it is the right call and actually I thought it was the the moment in the game that just lifted Celtic again it lifted the players lifted the the crowd absolutely and it just got us firing again for what was a a really crucial last half hour py it did and that’s what I said it it’s that Focus that sometimes sometimes you need um I love forget a game years ago I bro and it was a Scott Brown tackle um gave away a free kick I think he took a booking as well but it was more one of those moments where he he turns to the rest’s team and says we need to wake up and all what that I think they were under a lot of pressure he took a yellow card to tell his team we need to get in this this is going to be a battle and I think getting off with that yesterday um Lo obviously not conceding a goal definitely a foul of course I think that they they woke up and said right hang on we we’re in a bit of a game here let’s H let’s go for it let’s let’s try and play our game I thought the the substitutions were were spot on um and I think that as I said that the fresh legs of poo Bernardo it wasn’t just the goal I thought he um he really got in and about their their faces pretty well and rasing then went very quiet I don’t think he done much after and then they took Camp well off as well um yeah I just I thought that we we did manage that that side the goal the this allowed goal really really well and as I say I don’t think anyone deserved to win the game yesterday t i don’t it was such a strange game of football um but we we’ll take it we’ll take it 100% but Winner’s mentality as I say um the biggest sub the most important Sub in fact it’s the two of them isn’t it it’s Adam EA and it’s poo Bernard so Ida comes on in 62 minutes for kyogo who wasn’t quite at himself no no great service to to speak of no great opportunities for him as I say couple in the first half his Hold Up play could potentially have been better at times there was one he tried to like dummy it for his teammate um and pretty near the halfway line that’s not the place to do these things in such a game but he never quite got going and he’s got such a good record against Rangers and such a good record at hon but wasn’t his best day and Adam comes on and Adam who knows what’s going to happen you know with Adam’s future he’s clearly a guy who who loves take lovees been here he’ll never forget the last you know five six months his football in career and he’s going out there with nothing to lose really you know at hon Park and he’s put himself about early Bells I mean he’s picked up a yellow let me see he’s picked up a yellow in 68 he comes on in 62 six minutes later he’s in the book and it was a we bit cheap you know Dand was squaring up to Kum McGregor he does come across and just pushed him very like stuff and diandi Takes a Tumble and wals tries to balance it out and gives him the yellow and at that point he’s walking the tight rope you know the same as K McGregor all of a sudden and he’s a physical guy that’s his job he plays back to go football brings players in you know rough housing Defenders so yellow cards you know that that I think i’ be cautious of if you’re play in that way so all of a sudden he’s walking that tight rope but he didn’t let it affect him Paddy and I thought all of a sudden he gave Celtic a great out ball a great outlet and I think he showed all his best quality yesterday even out with the goal I think so too I think um like you say you know even in those little little moments I think we need players like that that are going to going to look after their teammates as well um yeah that they’re they really get in for call McGregor don’t they I think he’s toyed with him I think he’s toyed with him so much that every single player has to try and do something against them so it was nice it was quite refreshing to see one of our own kind of come up and just be like I’ll beat it um absolutely BR for the big man yellow card absolutely no chance no chance no and that’s when the yellows start flying so at that point Sterling’s just been booked James Forest picks up he’s he’s booking quite rare for James Greg tayor gets booked CW get booked for going off and then there’s others later on in the piece what about poo Bernardo so he comes on as I say on 78 minutes he comes on for real hatti and again out with the goal I thought he showed some really good stuff a bit of composure on the ball where it it maybe been lacking and I’ve not made my mind up in Pilot Bernardo in terms of what Celtics should do the chat is potentially up to 6 million I’m undecided I’m fully decided on AD Sign him all day long not quite sure on Bernardo but again he’s done himself no harm at all in that performance yesterday well if you think about the performance for me that really stood out is that he seems very Cal under pressure was against Atletico Madrid I thought he looked really really comfortable on the ball and you’re throwing a guy into such a a big game um yesterday the heat of at all he’s not playing week in week out and he slots in and he’s up to the speed of it pretty quickly doesn’t look as if he moves fast po Bernardo but I think he his reading of the game is very very clever and he seems to get in all the right positions um and I just think he’s very technically gifted I do I think that he could be a player that if he plays consistently could go up to another level another two or three levels to for me to know so I would be siging him I think we we going and take him I’m not saying he’s a replacement for anyone I’m not saying that at all I think he’s still a bit of a a player that needs a bit of time needs maybe 30 40 games a season to kind of really get used to it and then he will develop into a a top midfielder I think you say that you don’t think he moves that fast ask niik rascan if he moves fast because he just breezed away from him he’s got a in similar ways to mat he’s got what looks like a quite a languid lazy style but it’s actually quite deceiving that’s just the you know the way they operate they’ve actually got a real you know range in them and they can they can stretch away from players nobody was catching Bernardo and I think he knew it the whole place just opened out for him um I tell you what let’s do the the assessment of the goal from start to finish because actually it is a turnover in possession that you mentioned py Rangers pick up in a good area diandi plays a decent ball Beyond two of our midfielders into Scott Wright who takes his eye off the ball it’s it’s inexplicable he comes off the bench and a Scottish Cup Final and he was dreaming and all of a sudden Al Johnson picks it up he gets it into K McGregor very quickly who Clips it in dies and MAA and I thought it was just a really nice touch by MAA to drop it into the path of Bernardo and MAA goes off and makes his running and gets into the space and then it’s the quick feet of Bernardo to take himself away from Rasin and start bearing down on goal take it from there for us I think just for me that he’s he’s looking at the options he’s got I think he a few I think the movement of the ball from from the big man as I said was absolutely brilliant but again that just for me shows the confidence in the guy he’s thinking I’m G to have a go at this and I do think he’s got a good shot on him from uh from long distance um and he catches it well he does catch it well it’s enough to make butland hesitate there was a hesitancy to to the way tried to save it and I don’t know if it doesn’t look as if it moved much Totino um but listen these are the moments and for for Adam to be switched on and realize like hang on a minute get in there not the pass but make sure you’re following up because that’s going to the keeper and just a browing goal and what I love about it even more he’s not put it left or right the butland he’s just slid under him for the jump so butland jumped out to him and he’s just done right that’s my spot great composure great composure there is just that split setting the whole crowd gasped and you’re like please put it in Target and please put it put it bi him and it was just it was just magic and I loved I seen someone tweet about mat celebration he just looks straight over the linman and realiz he’s no flag yes absolutely do you know in that moment p in that Split Second where but makes he save but you know that it’s coming back out in a dangerous area the whole world just stops you’re just waiting and I’m in the exact same place as you you’re just desperate for him to hit Target you know if he hits Target you’re pretty much good to go but it’s a it’s a it all happens very quick but it’s a pretty composed finish because butland is a big guy and He makes himself big again you know he comes out to to kind of crowd round Adam and he just tucks underneath and actually at the time when I watched it in R te I couldn’t work out what he done had he put it high Beyond but I just didn’t know because it has B at that point end up at least half a dozen rows ahead of where I should have been but it’s it’s clever Play It’s composed play play by just to drop it under him and then at that point you’re cook him AAS and we’ve covered it earlier on in the piece he goes cam then he goes and then he goes focused you know the kind of three stages of his celebration someone made the point he’s obviously on a yellow at that point so he’s got to be pretty care Can’t Jump the the advertising boards and do all that kind of stuff but again I love I love the finish I love the the moment that that was for Adam dad you know a moment at 22 years of age a moment he’ll never ever forget but also just love the professionalism of him and his teammates to go this isn’t done we switch back on refocus and we go and do what we need to do in these final minutes he’s came up in U pretty much won the week and and won a scotch cup for us he has we we have to sign him we have to great player and just on that so Brandon Rogers was obviously asked about adamed after the game and he basically said the word he used was was that Adam has been the Catalyst for this second part of the season for Celtic he scored nine goals since his time here and almost every one of them has been so so important two pen Easter Road two goals to win you the game at F Park the third goal in the three each draw I Brooks where else did obviously yesterday’s was massive many that that’s plenty it that’s two that’s enough it’s been such a huge impact we’re going to catch this on the weekly show tomorrow um it’s us Asam and James are back on that show but the question has to be asked is he Celtic’s best ever loan signing and for me I’ve seen a few comments talking about bam but I have to say bam was a great player a great player I would have love to have seen him stay longer um but for me no I think Adam Adam has P considering what he’s done for his this season um seen a few talking about Robbie Keane as well but again what did what did we do that seon that season nothing nothing it was a horrible season um so yeah I I think he’s he’s had such a massive impact I’ll give you a funny one here you know about 90 seconds before the the goal I was talking to my friend big DJ and I was saying to him I would he’s another goalkeeper so goalkeepers Union chat and I said i’ sign but and a heart and literally 90 seconds later they turned around he like but you after that goal it was priceless but just just a great moment I love things like that happening in footballs but makes it superb I see someone actually put up a br compar comparison video to that goal to Oliver K’s mistake against Brazil and it’s identical it really is but love it love with that yeah and you know I think it’s fair to say that butland has been really good player for Rangers this season he’s he’s kept them in lots of games when they were struggling otherwise and I think there’s a discussion to be had if it was ever possible for him to come to Celtic but who knows I think they’ll take money for him I think someone will come in in the summer and he’ll head back down south he’s had a really decent season but you talk you talk about things like uh bam Kee for example yeah good players and all that stuff but what did they win you know what what did you actually do when it really counted and where is your name in the history books butland for all these good stuff has got a League Cup to show for all his efforts whereas Adam now you know as I say he’s been in Scotland and Glasgow for five months give take he’s League winner he’s Scottish Cup winner and he’s the the individual that scored that goal to win the Scottish cup so that’s the that’s the difference in football py um as mentioned there obviously the the goal comes around 90 minutes we see out the the8 minutes without any great stress you know there was a couple of moments in fact there’s one moment I definitely want to mention and I think has been picked up now by the Press is John Lindstrom going out to end M’s career have you seen it it’s outrageous it’s right out in the touch line and only because Mar really he’s smart and talented he lifts the ball over Lindstrom and then himself you know he jumps over the tackle if lrom catches that with a planted leg you’re you’re guaranteed to break break a leg it’s a shocker and I think he get thrown on there go go on out with a bang John go and make yourself an name and you know take bodies with you if that’s what you need to do it come on and just threw himself about but he can go and follow the rest of these mates down the road and leave the club as a loser yeah I think you’re spot on there and for me it’s not a case of H ignoring it it’s a case of that’s their level that’s their level nowhere near nowhere near is in the Midfield um and it just shows you a guy that who was supposed to be one of the their main players for them over the last few seasons like the they answered almost to like the way Scott Brown played with that tenacity um and he’s he’s done everything to get to Ay and ay’s just too clever for him and that just throws the levels for me it really does um crazy tackle absolutely crazy tackle but our players are too good they can’t really get needers that much they can’t they’re very clever yeah they can stop play they can Mark they they can uh prevent the way we pass um but when it comes to the technical side Celtic are still still way way ahead of that team yeah do you know over the piece it was a fairly evish game fairly close game but there’s there’s levels to this game overall and Celtic are definitely on a different bracket than this current Ranger side P let’s get to some of the numbers around the Cup Final win in terms of individuals James Forest he is now second in Celtics alltime owners list he’s got 24 trophies and he’s just won behind Bobby lenu in 25 incredible for James we’ve spoken a lot about James we’ll not you know dwell on that too much at this moment in time but huge credit to James Forest a real professional and he deserves all the players it’s going at this moment in time I’m so happy for him that he’s going out to the Euros hopefully he’s in the provisional Squad and hopefully he retains that place in terms of Brandon Rogers Record Paddy a few things to cut through here overall at Celtic he’s now won three League titles three League cups and three Scottish cups his Scottish Cup record is 17 wins from 17 games and we keep repeating and updating his record against Rangers just the one loss in 18 games so 14 wins three draws and one loss what about Brandon or’s ability to win this particular fixture it’s incredible it’s incredible and listen what we’ll have people say is a different level of Rangers and stuff like that you play who’s in front of you they’ve thrown so much as um over the years U to try and compete against us and I would say in the response there a lot of people thinking like that is that it was also a different level of Celtic as well at certain points especially coming out from the D team I think the D team was some some of our weakest um moments in terms of we weren’t spending a lot of money in the squad um because we we were just retaining what we could we weren’t qualifying for for Europe um but you think about it as much as it was a a brilliant decade that we had almost going on and completing the 10 that moment that moment in 2016 when we hire Brendan Rogers Rogers was a catalyst in terms of what what we are doing now the levels that we as supporters want now and will continue to want he set a really high bar but there’s one guy that’s going to keep getting to that bar that’s going to be Bron Rogerson in my opinion yeah it’s absolutely incredible py the overall record and a couple of folks have mentioned it in the chat as well Celtic are now on 118 major honors the exact same as any versions of Rangers combined over the years and that is a huge psychological blow py you have seen some of the tweets down the rounds I’ve not had time to get to follow follow yet I might jump across there later on but there’s a lot of chat about this Rangers team have broken me uh a disgrace blah blah blah and then there’s some folks tying themselves for Nots to say we never said that we never said we were the most successful club in the world he absolutely did and it’s coming back to B you it’s a it’s a huge psychological blow to them py well apparently they’ve already get the contractors ready to come in and take all stuff done for hamon sorry for I BRS as well so listen um they’ve DED down they’ve DED out in it for so long I think that you’ve H you’ve heard more successful Club you’ve heard most League titles you’ve heard um where the best team in the in the country where the the Queens 11 the Kings 11 you give them every every title they won they’re starting to lose all those little accolades and as I said earlier on espanol vacation you know yeah it’s it’s here and it’s here to stay I think py and the other thing to mention is K McGregor he’s never lost a cup final at any level now I don’t know what he was doing at under eight nines and tens but when he got to Youth Level as a footballer hasn’t lost any of those games youth Cup finals at hon for Celtics Academy teams and then as a senior player has never lost a cut final you’ve already sung his Praises for what he brought to the party yesterday and what he generally always brings to the party but that’s worth I mention as well isn’t it 100% I think H he for this he’s absolutely huge for us and quite rightly so moments of doubt this season in terms of his performances I think that we’re we’re allowed to say that um and he’ll Goble have first admit that himself um but the level he sets for himself to try and and just bring 100% attention each game um as I said to you yesterday like I I love that just watching him with the fans like come on when need you he and then the bit way I think he’s standing with EA um Johnston and two others I can’t remember who but it’s just in their faces come on we need to see this out we need to see this out and it has been lacking from Celtic this season as I’ve said there has been moments where we we’ve let a guard down very very quickly after a goal um but I heard someone say yesterday um Joe Hart’s not conceding in his last game as well and I just think that’s another final push for for that team as well um I I’ve said before this season won’t go down as one of my favorites but it’s been one of the sweetest I think yeah in a per perverse way I’ve absolutely loved that just the way it’s all played out and I think Joe py that man is emotionally drained you know given what’s going on the last few weeks we’ve seen so many interviews just now some folks might have watched the interview I done with Henry Winter the journalist who spent a lot of time and has spent a lot of time with joart over the years speaks glowingly of them as an individual and talks about this effectively the The Rebirth of joart over these last few years and it’s clear that Celtic have just you touched something with them you know touched a n in the most positive sense and he you seen at one point after the whistle he was just soaking up every second of it and since I’m repeating myself but since he announced on the 22nd of February that it was all over at the end of this season the response by him and his teammates is probably the reason why we are we today talking about a double yeah agreed agreed as I said it’s that laser focus you need to bring into every game and I think that I wouldn’t say everyone’s done it for every game but I would definitely say that himself K McGregor um and for me Cameron Car Vickers have been massive for us in this running and I bring my idea into that as well um they’ve been so switched on and really really pulled us over the line this season so a massive well done to Joe har and as I said at the time of that announcement takes a lot of pressure off the team takes a lot of pressure off the manager in terms of the planning for next season which I believe is already started as well um and I it’s just it’s just exciting it’s just it’s just good to know that we’re were able to kind of get those moments dealt with really really well really professionally and it allowed us to kick on for for that remainder of the season so I’m just credit to him um emotional big guy and totally understand it totally get it absolutely brilliant from him yesterday just opening up how he was feeling and then I’ve seen a post from him today saying it’s going to take me a few days to to gather this uh gather my thoughts he say but I’ll come back with a message this week as well just to say thank you but just a great guy I never thought I’d say that about Joe har had a totally different view him when we signed on him but I’m happy to be WR there do you know what a way to go py um I would say most players you know would generally kind of sit tight try and get that extra year or two you know get get the deal and play on even when you know you’re not quite at your Peak you’re not at your best and sometimes it’s tough to watch you know you see players that have been at the top of their game and you know that they don’t have that left in the tank anymore and there’s others that fall down the levels and they play on For the Love of the Game but it’s clear it’s not there joart has gone out on the highest of highs you know the the love that’s been shown to him from all with a Celtic of a Celtic persuasion has been amend and I think for him it’s just it’s what a way to go it’s you don’t often get the fairy tale ending in football you know talented guys sometimes fizzle out and various things can happen he has had the the ultimate fairy tale and as I said before he’s now going to H cover the Euros for the BBC and Andre’s actually doing it for STV which in itself is interesting but you’re going to get these guys big in Celtic up at every possible opportunities they’re the kind of guys that now that they’ve moved on for the club they’ll be your biggest cheerleaders and I’m just so pleased for Joe har he got the ending that he wanted without a doubt I and like you say it’s it’s nice I remember the moments you would watch match of the day and you would have Jing the World Cup M would be on and he would wax Lal at the club um so it is nice having those ambassadors almost to kind of just big up what we’re what we are doing here and what what we do have here and I think that was U made pretty well clear with our manager yesterday now listen we know he likes a bit of a ramble Rogers um but I thought got a spot on yesterday when he was talking about the the F thing looking out for each other being a family with each other and and what we’re doing and we we build to go stronger next season it’s it’s again it’s that psychology supporters I said we’re spoiled but we’re we’re in a very strong place that we’re so used to we’re so used to winning silver whereare we can’t take it for granted but my God the the levels that we set our players are extremely high some people can’t can’t handle that all the time we understand that but I just think that ultimately there was a switch that was turned on this season and it was full support F Bing for that 11 on the park and I go for that moment for the Hearts game that was for me a big Turning Point um and then that one of the best games of the season for me was the The Heart game at home a real Buzz about a place just everyone try to get behind the team and I think they’ve definitely felt it this season from the support yeah and Brandon Roger said he’s got number huge quotes part you know this is the Time of the Season we come alive let’s go and have some fun um we’ll write our own story but one of the things he said was that Celtic as a club when unified is an incredible force and mostly he’s meaning the fans and the players and coaches in it together and I think we got that you know in the the latter part of the campaign and you see just the impact has had it’s what drives you on to the kind of success we’ve witnessed in the last couple of weeks py before I come here for your your final comments as we start to WRA things up few folks have commented so I done a we thing for the BBC pre and post match yesterday all quite good fun and it ended up out on the the highlights package on Sports scene last night so I got some some funny messages a lot of H taking the piss type messages which is all good but a few folks have mentioned here so Danielle Sean Finley luo’s left Peg and Maestro 95 pad who’s called me a sellout for H for stepping into the the BBC shows but it’s only temporarly folks it was just for the Cup Final so all good here I’m sticking with Paddy and the lads uh paddy massive day for Celtic yesterday really special day at the end of what’s turned out to be a really special season so your final thoughts as we start to close out this episode it’s what it’s all about isn’t it I think um sharing those moments with your your friends your family your loved ones it’s just is it’s special H you wear every High you wear every every low being a football fan and I think that um I love when people say it’s just a game of football um I I generally like I’ve I’ve love as I say I love friends I love my family but this this football club as well was just a massive massive part of my my day today and days like yesterday just make it all worthwhile um and you know this hangover I’m up against today still wipe the smile off my face you know so I just love it love every bit of it love doing this as well love doing the the podcast and great to see so many comments for you guys as well and thank you big thank you for me for the support last season it’s been excellent and uh yeah just keep on bringing a good days guys love it yeah well said P the support that we’ve had personally in terms of what we do here at the Celtic exchange has been phenomenal um there’s close to a thousand folks kind of watching us just now it’s kind of ticking up and down so great numbers there and the folks that continue to comment brilliant stuff it really helps make the show what it is py you were talking about you know how important football is in in the bigger picture and and life Rich tapestry and all that stuff there’s a famous quote that we all know from Bill shankley you know it’s the whole thing about H they say football’s you know more than football is as important as life and death blah blah blah it’s actually more important than that and I don’t quite agree with that you know there’s more important things in football but I do agree with a quote from I think it’s Carlo ancelotti who says something to the effect of football is the most important of the least important things in life so it’s not it’s not more important than friends family and loved ones and all that stuff but it’s a very close second it’s just underneath that and I think that’s a pretty accurate reflection on how we all feel about Celtic pad we’ve got a break now so we’ll be continuing what we do in general terms with the Celtic exchange we’ll be back on Monday night with the weekly show we’ve got another couple of special episodes coming out later this week we’ve got one with Celtic Legend M McLoud that’ll be probably Friday and the midweek we’re looking to put out what will be part nine of the battle to save Celtics series that’s been very warmly received and that BR out this week so lots to keep us going Paddy we might take a small break guys there’s a Euros that Paddy mentioned different things going on there’s some mental fatigue kicked in maybe it’s just a hangover that’s kicked in but we we we’ll work out what we’re doing over the summer we’ll certainly keep you guys posted but P yourself from a from a Celtic point of view it’s the perfect time to pause reset and then come back energized for whatever the next campaign brings yeah absolutely and I’m just buzzing for next season I I think it’s a I think the ball is in the the board’s Court um for me I think um there is work to be done and we’re getting a Champions League which is going to be pretty ruthless next season I think um it’s going to be a bit of a different level should we be aing to make the playoffs I think we should I think we should but we need to we need to bring that quality in that we we’ll be crying out for and I think that um yeah it’s over to you board we’ve uh We’ve stumped up I think uh almost 99 98% retention in the season ticket in news I’m heing it’s over to you guys yeah I’d agree with that that’s a huge thing and it’s a huge summer ahead and Brandon rers not that he should have had to earn it but he’s now earned the fullback and he should get the fullback in in the most positive saying Celtic spent money last summer and in January but not in the right ways I would argue but that’s a a different topic for a different day Paddy in the meantime just all that’s left to say is a huge thanks to everyone as I say for all the support throughout this season it’s been an absolute roller coaster but it’s been brilliant so thanks to everyone who continues to join us in the live thanks to those who continue to listen to the Celtic exchange podcast Celtic exchange podcast hangover has fully kicked in py let’s call night that’s 58 minutes done dusted guys we’ll see you tomorrow night for the weekly show but in the meantime enjoy the rest of your weekend see you said

  1. Seen you on the beeb pre-match representing the Tims Tino ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ‘Œ
Compare with the 2 club fella from the other side & his wee rubber duck ๐Ÿคฃ ๐Ÿ˜œ

  2. With Sevco players diving and play acting all over the park for the preceding 90 mins, it was beautifully fitting that our last minute goal was sparked by a player remaining on his feet after being fouled – full of desire and forward thinking positivity.

  4. This has been my favourite place to go after every game, happy or sad. Delighted we are all signing the season off with a double ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ€ Thanks for your time guys!

  5. Brilliant again guys….let's all relax this summer and hopefully let Celtic recruit well and a good show in Europe next season ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช coybig/coygig x

  6. Scales is a great defender puts his head were some don't as well, not the best at coming out with the ball, but does what he's paid to do and that's defend fair play to the lad will be a great addition to the squad.

  7. My first Scottish cup final was in 1965 the season Stein returned to Celtic. Big Billy McNeil headed in the winner against Dunfermline. Another memorable final was the 2-0 win against Aberdeen. Over one hundred thousand fans were in Hampden to see Willie Wallace hit a brace. And then came the 4-0 hammering against John Gregg's side where a young George Connelly walked the ball in to the Rangers net after big Ceasar had headed us into the lead. And the 6-2 thrashing of Hibs where Dixie Deans scored a hat trick.

  8. Gregg Taylor is jostling with Raskin before the ball is in play. He doesnโ€™t impede him in any way.
Raskin pushes joe hart in mid air, (soft) but still a foul.

  9. Celtic scored the only goal of the game, we deserved to win big man ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ†

  10. Scales has been immense for celtic this season the guys helped bring us the title and has stood up and done what was asked of him were others couldn't im delighted for the big guy deserves his winners medals and place in celtics history and we'll done celts for equalling the trophy count ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช…ps. Idah is defo the best loan signing Bellamy shouldn't even have a look in the guy failed us when we really need him on the last day at Motherwell any time I see the guy I think of him that day

  11. Absolutly fed up with this critisism of sclaes.
Yes he isnt brilliant but gives everything.
Would be far better on the ball with a better lb beside him.
We do need to improve on him BUT absolutly good enough being back up to play against the spl dross after european midweel games!
    Hail Hail

  12. Celtic have done their homework on Butland…in the last 4 games v them, it has been notable that we have been taking early shots from distance (with much more regularity than against other sides and with significant success). We've also been pressing him more when he has the ball at his feet. He clearly has major weaknesses in those areas. Its probably the reason why Bernardo has taken the shot on and not played it wide – its been a direct instruction, otherwise Bernardo would have gone wide to Maeda/Kuhn (the latter who, if you watch it back, worryingly wasn't interested in receiving it!). There is a reason Butland can't find a gig down south and isn't considered for England. Seems like a decent guy and not a hun but he's not good enough for what we need and it would be a mistake to sign him.

  13. Great content as always, along with ACSOM, 20MT and Huddle Breakdown you are my go to pods ๐Ÿ™‚ HH UTLR

  14. And that Pi#h on BBC straight after the win, ''Celtic never played well'' Bollocks we played a tactical game and played pretty well, and got the win, how many saves did Joe Hart have to make, what I would say we need to get some imposing height into the team.

  15. Thanks for your analysis of all things Celtic, this season. You have taken fan media in some innovative directions with your content this season, kudos to you all . I sincerely hope next season will be more challenging to analyse, with victory after victory.๐Ÿ˜Hail Hail ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€

  17. I hate to say it but I hope Kyogo leaves. I want him to thrive in a side that doesn't have to play against a low block every week. It will also kickstart Idah's career if we decide to buy him. I think he can be our main man but we still need to buy another good striker.

  18. I share your views about Paulo Bernardo, Paddy. Given a proper run in the side (which he hasnโ€™t yet really had), I think heโ€™ll go up a few levels and be a great addition to the squad. Itโ€™s a โ€˜buyโ€™ from me as well. ๐Ÿ‘

  19. Great show as always, thanks for getting us through some tough times this season even though it was worth it in the end ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช
