all right everybody welcome back to the channel Randy Gibson golf today we got a great video planned um I’m going to test out the new tailormade speed soft um I know a lot of people do a really good job with the ball reviews and showing the numbers and but today I’m going to focus on just the everyday average golfer and how that translates to the golf course so what I’m going to do is put up the uh the the tailor made speed soft and I’m going to play the tailor made tp5 and see kind of is there any difference um you know it’s about half the price of a tp5 so see if there’s any real difference on the golf course how they play um and then we’ll see today I am going to use the uh the ink version which uh I really like a lot um they also have the the regular white and the yellow I see mostly in stores but the ink so far I’ve only been able to see these online um but I kind of like the blue version they have sever colors the pink green um red and blue so should be fun let’s uh let’s get into it right say we’re going to do three holes um do a par four a par three and a par five so going to start out with a nice short Par Four going to go with my fivewood and kind of just see how both balls react um should be setting up a nice wedge in the green as well and also just to be fair gonna try to alternate um each t- shot um first just to kind of make it as Fair as possible but be interested to see how uh you is there a difference on the course do I lose a lot on the greens or you know is it pretty much your average golfer not going to notice that much of a difference so we’ll find out all right right here made it to my ball for the the speed soft a little shorter kind of Chunk the fivewood and the the tp5 absolutely centered it so chalk that up to a bad shot but still not bad I got about 76 yards in the green got my 56 degree let’s see if we can get on the green all right here we go made it to the tp5 again really good shot there about 50 50 yards in a little pitch shot this is where the tp5 premium ball is supposed to be a little better so let’s see what we can do right here we are third shot speed soft actually held the green green in regulation a little further out the tp5 little downhill slope it was kind of hard to put more spin on it so got another Chip Shot and see if we can get up down for par all right tp5 there just pass the hole got a chance for par and then getting ready for the birdie putt for the speed all right here made out second hole Par 3 about 1:30 so this hole may see a little bit of difference between the two we’ll see maybe not um that’s kind of one thing you’ll see there on the previous hole with for both kind of just comes down to skill level um when you’re first starting out I would definitely say lean more towards a budget ball than a premium ball just because you’re going to lose a bunch and till you get comfortable unless you just have the budget to do whatever you want then you know more power to you um so we’ll see if we can keep it going and see if we can really tell the difference right now pretty even all right again just probably just going to go my 9 iron for both uh starting out the tp5 first all right they’re off to the right a little bit so he going with the speed off next here’s a good example literally both shots different balls might be side by side beside each other um we’ll see both kind of missed off to the right so it’s a good good opportunity to show the uh get my 60° out for both shots and get a nice chip see see if both of them feel about the same not too far off there’s the tp5 just off the side of the green and then uh just over here on top of this little mountain right behind us is the uh the speed soft so just going to see if we can got a chance to get down for both for part let’s see if we can do it [Music] can’t get much better than that on that one again not my best chip with the tp5 I think it comes down to more skill level than the ball for sure but right here with the speed soft kind of can’t beat that tap end par there and got a par putt for tp5 let’s see all right made it to the last old part five here if I hit a good drive good shot to get there in two so far performance- wise score-wise even for both um again she kind of coming down to more of the more the player not the equipment as I kind of thought before I did this video so that’s holding strong let’s see how the it does with the driver see if we can hit two good drives out there and see where we get all right here don’t be alarmed got my uh the speed soft out drove the tp5 by about a good 20 yards way up there past the the white steak so here at the tp5 got about 1 65 in just going to hit my uh it’s a warmer so I’m going to hit my eight iron and see if we can get on all right here we are my speed soft got about 14040 by 140 in um going to go my pitch and wedge see if we can get on all right kind of topped my Adar there rarely with the Adar usually hit that pretty good so just going to go got about 100 yards in with the uh tp5 just going to third shot going to hit my 56 see if we can get on short all right came up short there with the tp5 so just GNA see if we can get him down for a par all right speed soft thirdd shot let’s see if we can get up down for par par five seem to always give me the fits like this one this become more of an adventure than I expected but still got a chance for par we’ll see I got a bogey putt for the tp5 and a birdie putt for the for the speed soft let’s see what we can do all right here we are hope everybody enjoyed the video um I’m getting ended it with the birdie there on the par five for the speed sauce got a bogey for the tp5 so one over through three one under again that doesn’t really come down to the ball necessarily it comes down to the golfer um and I think that’s always the case but people out there especially you know Place something that you’re comfortable with you know if you’re got more of a budget um conscious then you know Heck if you’re just starting I would say you go to get you a distance balls tailor made distance or the bottom callaways or the Nitros Wilson even has good uh distance balls and then just have fun hit them hit them around you know that’s what you got to do once you get better then you can s like I said I’m uh I’ve kind of moved over to the the the speed softball I like it a lot I like the look too but um fieldwise you don’t really miss anything at least at my level I can’t feel any different um and actually outd drove the tp5 there on the the par five so um I think it just comes down to the golfer um again a big thing with me is I come out here and it’s mentally you know satisfying I I I can kind of think out here that’s why I usually like to come out here on my own when it’s quiet in the mornings um it’s fun I enjoy it I enjoy the strategy a lot I’ve kind of got into it a big deal there and mentally it kind of lets me reset you know lets me just think about Golf and not about the rest of the crazy world that’s going out there so I enjoy that and also get enjoy time with my kids out here um on occasion when I can keep them keep them in line uh when it’s not too wet out here so I usually like to jump around the puddles so but yeah again it it doesn’t really come down to the equipment as much you can get out here and get a nice budget set of clubs nice budget golf ball and have just as much fun as you would with your Titus tailor made TP FS out here your your q10s um you know the pros they look for that five to 10 yards difference out here with us average golfers it’s not really going to make that much of a difference just get out there and enjoy yourself hope you like the video subscribe to the channel and see you next time

Dude unless you have a perfect strike for both, ball doesn’t matter just pick what you can afford or what you like the feel of. I buy balls from a local sports equipment store, they’re used. 75 cents a ball and I can find mostly decent brands plus a few top tier balls like a tp5, prov1 and chrome softs even. It doesn’t matter lol
I am not surprised the Speedsoft did so well :). The last two seasons I had used the Callaway Supersoft. Taylormade Speedsoft is definitely better. I have been using them for the last couple of weeks. Speedsoft checks up well and goes a long way. They are doing extremely well in a very wide span of reviews on youtube . It's a premium ball disguised as a budget ball. At the very least its the premium ball of its price category. :). I play about 160 rounds a year. I have a nice stock of the Speedsoft. Hard to believe its actually this good but it is. Imagine a two piece ball performing like this. Wow. I always recommend to my friends to pick and play with one specific type of ball. There is a lot of differences between various balls in terms of feel, compression and distances. I have a friend who plays with whatever he finds . Hard to get any consistency that way. I will be sticking with Speedsoft for the season. Nice review Randy. Joe
It wont make much difference to the average amateur but the TP5 (and any premium golf ball) will have faster ball speeds and higher spin rates coming into greens. There have been a lot of tests on it.
Good review, just bought a dozen to test. Thanks for the info.
