[Music] welcome to another week of the DP World Tour picks and Bets Skyler hul here joined as always is my friend Tom Jacobs Tom how we doing yeah good uh probably the worst betting week I can remember for golf definitely in 2024 for me I know you were close with Guido last week he just had a poor Sunday right but um yeah just nowhere near like not even close and just you get events like that sometimes and Porsche European open makes sense that it’s that one there’s a lot of trouble out there and and ways to ruin a scorecard right but um I guess the story of the week was uh what happened in in Canada yeah agreed I mean first on the U the European open like I’m frustrated at the results because it did it did tend out to be kind of Fairly obvious with caner and some of the guys even that were in the mix but I really feel like there was probably a group of 10 15 golfers you could have easily backed last week that did make a lot of sense that ultimately you you land on you know five six seven of them and not everything went our favor mean a lot of things did did go poorly from some guys but to see a Bradberry pop to see a Sean Crocker pop to see a caner win a weisberger contention a guido in the mix like I expect those things at Green Eagle it’s just not always that they’re on the betting card or not but um good for cancer to to get through with that one yeah I think I think the frustrating thing sky is that like you’ve played caner a couple of times I’ve played vburger a couple of times we you know for us are not really be there on the the weeks where they both had a chance of winning on the bat nine like a little bit tough but there’s no surprise to see vber putting incension it’s it’s literally just been a a good putting week away from doing so and um can’s I think can is brilliant and to be honest like I think he would profile perfectly for the PJ tour next year if that if that’s a route that he wants to go I mean I could ultimately see him going back to live if if if that you know path opens up again but um if he gets on the PJ tour I think he could he could really succeed especially looking at what you know McIntyre did yesterday and um you know you look at the success that kind of like you know Ryan Fox is having impact years and Camp people I mean Lorie can’s every bit as good as those players he just hasn’t got the wins on his card yet until yesterday yeah to totally agree I think and what he’s contended not contended but done well in a major champion ship you know showed off with some ball striking numbers that would I think translate incredibly well um to State Side Golf here so you should have one went worth in the past right and that that you know correlated pretty nicely to Canadian open yesterday so um yeah I I just think it’s good a good thing for can going for but you’re right though story story of the weekend shout out Bob McIntyre shout out his dad um really really cool amazing scenes um overall I think we as we’ve done this show and a lot of these golfers we just have a heart for for rooting for these guys whether we’re on them or not and we’ve always known the talent was there um and I just think the way he handled himself in contention the way his his game kind of evolved Sunday needing to to score again and have some better approaches um on Sunday did that after making everything in sight on Saturday and just good for Bob I think he’s such a a mental golfer in which just needs very good vibes in his life to play well I think that’s just kind of the the golfer he is and that’s frustrating from a consistency standpoint it’s frustrating from a backing him when it seems like everything makes sense standpoint the number wasn’t terrible last week um I you know a lot of people were on you you call Matt you know Vena was on and I think could have made a really good argument I had wrote him up as a value report article guy and you know just just happy for for Bob I think it’s really cool you talk about that kind of Happ to be comfortable thing and I think there’s nothing that kind of highlights that more than the fact that he’s not playing Memorial this week um just going home to literally get drunk um which I question like I I do think you should be riding the hot wave but look he probably looks he’s just like I’m not going to win this week I’m going to take a week off and that’s going to be his best prep for the US Open if he comes and finishes you know top 10 or even contends at the US Open you know in a week’s time then you know who was I to question it I it just feels very Bob McIntyre at the moment I don’t think he wants to be there long term but I think now he’s in a a position where he’s stuck because like if he didn’t win on the PJ T go ah well I gave it a go and I’m not quite you know not quite ready to play over there and not comfortable now he’s won and he’s got his PJ toour kind of locked up like he’s in a predicament he he’s really got to commit himself there so you know not not any any way shape of form of criticism I think you know some people don’t want to do it you hear pretty much every player that’s played both tours prefers playing on a DP World Tour from a camaraderie standpoint from a just a you know homesick feeling standpoint but um yeah I hope for Bob’s sake that he can kind of settle down there and really feel comfortable now after he’s got that win yeah I wonder if the the luxury of picking his own schedule will make a big difference yeah of you know not having to play for the points and and get into a spot where I don’t know if he’s to the the caliber yet where he can pick a enough to make sure you’re locked up like next year I wouldn’t be shocked if he played like the minimum you know and just didn’t worry about anything because nothing matters doesn’t want to play Myrtle Beach doesn’t want to play Mexico right like doesn’t want to play these events but feels like he has to and you’re absolutely right like if he can just go and play if he can just go and play the events by all the DP World Tour players that he’s used to play with are playing as well then I think he’ll feel absolutely at home right and I hope that’s the case because he’s a he’s a brilliant character and someone that we should absolutely be supporting um just just hope he figures it out because it would be a shame that the mental side got the better of him I think yeah yeah but no super proud of him ready for for this week an interesting leadup into the US Open um so we are having the Scandinavian mixed event here on the dpu world tour at a new course um for us so a little bit more of a wrinkle than what we’ve seen of custom 2 um so again this is an event that has half the field from the DP World Tour side half the field from the ladies European tour side couple LPGA players come over a couple PGA Tour players come over we have seen Lyn Grant absolutely storm the field and win in a year we’ve seen a year where the guys just kind of took full command think it looks to be as a scorecard has updated for um I don’t even what is it the the vasat torps golf club um in Sweden here but um it looks like it’s about a thousand yard difference maybe a little bit um over between the ladies and the guys this week do you have an overall tape on how you’re approaching it um from the the two different angles yeah I think I I saw it like it was it was a smaller Gap this time around than before and I think that would be important we obviously saw Ling Grant completely destroy the field in you know 2022 and I don’t think that was just because there was a big gap between the yardages like I think she just played incredibly well if you look at the fact that she was the only um female golf to finish inside I think the top sort of 10 that year like it it just shows that she was played absolutely brilliantly she was in good form I I’m just going to go with people that I think have adjusted to this event well in the past enjoy playing in Sweden um and just a little bit of guess work really because I don’t know an awful lot about the golf course I’m not going to sit here and pretend that I do um and I think it’s just going to be go out there make a ton of birdies um and if you if you what SW I’m looking for if you embrace the event itself I think you’ll you’ll play a lot better I think there’ll be a lot of players there that you can tell by the field if there was some really high-profile players there you could sort of say well they probably don’t really want to be playing it but they feel like they have to whereas I think the field that we’ve got suggests everyone’s there ready to kind of prepare for this field so I think we’re in for a good event it’s a great viewing event it’s just not a brilliant betting event yes I I would be in agree yeah I mean I would love for a perfectly mixed leaderboard to see on Sunday to have everything align it’s it’s hard a little bit when it’s I mean the Gap probably from the Le to the LPGA is pretty substantial you know probably bigger than the the PGA to DP World Tour type of thing so a PGA LPGA event could be very intriguing in this format but you also get a weaker overall DP World Tour uh field so I have haven’t got into the weeds as much because even though it is uh the Gap I think a thousand yards a little bit less it’s not the lowest of the three years it’s kind of right there in the middle and it’s a little bit more stretched out I think it’s 6300 for the women a little over 7,000 still for the guys so a little bit of a longer course I just feel like it plays more in favor to the guys we we know a lot about and play into and that kind of goes right into the the betting card and it’s Illustrated with the odds right Rasmus hoy 14 Soderberg 18s otu 25 the the lowest female on the board Lyn Grant 35 to one sagstrom is 40 um and outside of that Brony law is the next one at 60 so any thoughts overall on the top of the board uh they the Hoy guard’s got to come off the top of the board at some point isn’t he um just you know not lifted up to what we’ve expected from him this season like I thought this was going be a breakout year for him he go and follow his brother on the PJ tour and it would all work out pretty opens an 80 last week as one of the favorites and just don’t see anything to make him a 14 to1 shot anymore like I I mean what’s his best finish in the last 15 weeks he’s like 29th in Singapore and assass 76 to ruin that so yeah I just I mean I would have made Soderberg favorite considering the form um but yeah I’m going further down into the 25 to1 based on the fact that I just don’t think you need to be absolute favorites withness right I I mean I think the tailor made conversation comes to your first selection one that I’m very open to likely to land on but what would your guess be I mean I I wouldn’t have predicted Monday morning we’re sitting here with an Alexander York 30 to1 available no no I I don’t right I mean that that feels wrong with the season he has had yeah I the thing is that he’s played okay the results don’t look great on a PJ tour right and and that’s because he’s not a PJ Tour player Alexander he’s not great off the T um he’s never going to do brilliantly in America he’s a perfect example not not like McIntyre doesn’t want to play in America’s he’s just simply not got the skill set so I’m really intrigued to see how he does when he comes back to this event talking to someone that Embraces the event he’s he’s played it every single year he’s finished seventh and Ninth uh in two of those three starts Mr cut in one of them so um I think Alexander Bor at 30 to1 is incredibly generous I mean it’s that way because he hasn’t had pretty much a good finish all year I think you’ve got to go back to maybe the AMX for the last time he played well and a lot of it’s been putting but you’ve got to consider where they’re playing so the standout and I think we were when we did our post uh PJ Championship show we were frustrated that buor wasn’t teeing it up in the colonial right because of his over performance at the the the PGA Championship t39 there just felt like way out of the the ballpark for what he normally does with a 67 on on uh Friday a 68 on Sunday J tour has not really taken kindly his year but the caliber of what we look at when he sees up I I think it just makes what what would Soderberg be doing on the PGA tour probably something similar would you agree I would say the s’s probably better equipped but yeah I don’t think I don’t think the results dramatically different right like his 33rd in Valero made the cut of the Honda 11th for the AMX like there are some decent results there in the 39th obviously Val was huge considering the golf course so yeah I think it’s absolutely fine like I think if this was if this was campio or whatever coming back he’d be 20 one right I know he’s been playing a little bit better but um you got to consider he’s playing at home he’s he’s got you huge motivations to play well and it’s going to be the first time he’s played a golf course that suits him this year so he’s got a relish opportunity so so you say that about campio though campio is in the field this week and he’s 35 he’s 35 to Wi yeah do you think that’s just appealing as borker what are your thoughts y uh I don’t know it’s a good question um because I I could easily land there too you know he hasn’t he’s played it once so right a Miss cut so I don’t think he’s quite embraced it in the same way he hasn’t played very well in Sweden in the past so there you go the fact that he I didn’t even realize he was playing is the fact that you how I feel about him um I think buor is the much better pick yeah I I think I’m gonna land on on Bor as well I’m cool with him at 30 that feels I think you could absolutely play both right off the the jump and be okay with it um I think johanes verman coming off leading Strokes gain approach last week could be another intriguing one um at the front of the mill I’m still I mean Vincent Norman has came over 45s which is another one that you kind of get into this field in the mix you feel like he is a better golfer than a lot of those guys around there but the results in the PJ tour haven’t been encouraging much I would say as of late now we’re in alignment though next election 55s when we discussed last week and I said this would be the quintessential week where Dan Bradberry should show up at Green Eagle right all that matters is you just hit approaches really really well you hit your driver well and what did he do he did just that right I was sitting there almost messaging Saturday morning like the week of wh ifs you know nor God nor God mhler who I didn’t want to skip over we’re going to go back to him there um but also Dan Bradberry just really showing up overall at at just a course that makes so much sense so from two golfers in that kind of kind of the mix Bradberry for me I’m willing to keep betting that the ceiling’s in there for him and we finally got a little bit of life out of that in the ball strike and could carry over what probably is an easier track to just ball strike and hope you get eight Footers all day long and make more than you miss so 55s for him is a lot but I I had Miss missing out a norgard Mohler for you there too at the top so you don’t want to play uh your reasoning for both of those two yeah let me just follow on straight from Bradbury so the fact that he just finished second in the field last week in approach was huge and that’s the second time in three starts now that he’s ranked in that area for trok can approach so the fact that he’s hit his is well again suggest that we should just be following him and it’s as simple as that so um whilst I think that comes to the for in probably more demanding tests and away from him to separate himself I do think this is the type of opportunity where he can set up plenty of birdies so I I do like Dan breber with you there at 55 to1 but norgard M when we get an event like this and we’re not sure about the golf course we’re not sure the motivations anything like that in Scandinavian mix I think you just need to pin your hopes on someone that’s playing the best golf and ultimately that’s norgard M the last two weeks right so even when you go back to the China open he was 11th after two rounds finished 35th there then he finished second two weeks ago in sadow open he was never outside the top four and then European open never outside the top four again last week finished fourth that’s eight rounds now where he’s been fourth or better um you know over the last two weeks so I can’t see a reason why noran M can’t compete um it feels like a very friendly place to get your first win right um you know 10th and 21st in two starts in this event as well um I think he was fifth going into the final round in 2022 and he was the first round leader last year as well so playing closer to home I mean it’s obviously not he’s from Denmark and this is Sweden but it’s you know it’s close enough it’s Scandinavia and I I just think if you’re playing this well at this time in an event that should be relatively easy um then then everything should line for no I had a little reflecting overall on my appearance of the guy being too hard on the guys I was able to bet Xander Schley at the the PGA Championship despite everybody and anybody saying he couldn’t win why do I have to be as hard on norgard Muller on caner on some on Mansel on all these guys when things line up as well as you’re talking about this week so I I think it’s a great pick I think with with Xander it’s like look this guy’s been the best T screen player for two years or one of you know behind Sheffer right um for two years he’s playing brilliantly all the stats suggest he should have won a couple of times like with M you haven’t really got the yes he’s definitely going to win but he is just simply playing really good golf and when you’ve got so many question marks at top of the market Yanick Paul yes was Fenson didn’t play very well last week and he’s got the sort of Home Crow pressure Alex Patrick’s been fine you know I mentioned Campo not even realizing he was playing so um that is a Miss on my part but I just think you know I was going to go with Conor and I just thought what what is there about Conor that’s not there for norval M and we’ve got two back toback fourth VES so um yeah sticking with M there yep yep 100% mid-range anybody else um that you’re looking through so the first uh lady that I’m gonna pick and this is shout out to Brad who obviously I did a podcast with lots of words and you know we we all read his stuff right um Brock estrop Nicole Brock estrop played and won at this course in 2015 and not only that but she finished third last week on the L and that was also in Helsingborg and I think that’s a massive thing that she was here last week played well on her own tour winner on the golf course she has missed a cut both times that she’s played this event um which is a little bit disappointing um but just that 65 to1 number a double the price Ling Grant obviously she’s a former winner but I think just having some of that course knowledge is going to be huge so she was the one that first came for me off the off the ladies picks yep yep she makes sense there um I’m pretty far down there from a lady standpoint man and deoy is in a ton of really good form one of Jude’s favorites um she’s now ripped off I think it’s four consecutive top yeah four consecutive top 10 including a win recently um you know Johanna gustavin has three consecutive top 10 another top 15 there um I was always a sucker for rusine buard who now is a little bit I mean kind of she’s way down the odds board there I’m just kind of going through as my thought process for the ladies side but um she was right there with a thical in a lot of the the writeups that I was kind of working into um you know a couple years ago and now we’ve seen the vast difference of their careers um but that really I mean for me in the mid-range I’m going to go pretty speculative down the board I think Sean Crocker got cut way too much in the odds Market um for what he had came into but again showed some life last week overall but we align on a long shot to here um I think he’s still available 200s here in the states 200s still overseas for you yeah absolutely just just one more lady mentioned so Gabriella cowy has been brilliant in this event the last couple years I Fifth and 15th um she’s playing really good goal she got two top three finishes in their last um five I’d love the fact that they were playing at the same golf course I think she’d be hundreds one probably shorter if that was the case um but the way she’s been playing is is great so um I think that’s one to to keep in mind um but yeah the long shot I think we’re aligning on here is Garrick portius who for me just stood out like I was looking at the the form as I do and you know you see a recent win you go okay well that was on the challenge door what’s he done since then well he was 272 starts later he eth going into the weekend in Spain and just didn’t quite hold on then he he gets to the DP world already misses a cut in the sadow open you think okay like steps back up and doesn’t quite manage it but they open with a 74 there and close with a 66 just missing the cut which I thought was huge and then when you look back at last week he finished eighth and he was fourth after rounds one and two um you know third round 77 there kind of Haled him in his tracks but yeah this just looks like a player sky that is playing at the top level of challenge T over the last five weeks or so and um I don’t think there’s going to be too to much of a gap um in terms of that that quality of field in this so um yeah I like it yeah I mean without the 77 on Saturday right could have easily elevated we’ve seen guys do this from The Challenge tour straight into contention Rasmus near guard Peterson was what 33s last week you know like he would have played well he’s probably gonna be budding up as a favorite not to say p said nearly the same year yeah of which he has but a recent win and then contention in the DP world tour is a good candidate for somebody to run um just looking at like winners sorry sky like we you know Jonathan cwell and and D whitel like it it fits that right like it it just feels very much the same type of player like little bit of a journeyman type player obviously Dale whitnell was was coming good playing some good golf cwell very much fits in that category like I I think that that works and he’s experienced player that would just relish being on a DP world all this week so um definitely sort of P yes 100% kind of plays into the way we go after things one of um my favorite Parts about the Summer Golf college golf wrapping up PJ toru has done a great job of incorporating guys around the world of course uh Jackson Co Vin is going to be in the memorial this week who was a freshman of the Year won about every award corn fairy tour this is when Adrien dumon chart got his start on the corn be tour winning in his first event and then getting into Ryder Cup Fringe consideration we have a couple guys who recently just turned Pro who are in this field I guess I’m assuming they’re turned Pro they might have just get sponsor exemptions or amateur exemptions into this field so I might be misquoting there but um there’s just so much juice I think in Amateur Golf that it’s hard to compare and when they hit they hit it early and the odds they are I think it’s always worth discussing and see if they can carry over that type of type of form so first one and Brad caught an absolute steal with with Matt’s uh e EEG who is 25th in the world in in um The W uh the the wagger rankings he was 18th in the stroke play Championship he had won two events earlier this year or cold medalist and two of them he was thou a thousands when he opened up um he is now in the I think 275 range um in your side over the pond for us he is like 160s a little bit longer that maybe not every book is out yet um he was at East Tennessee if I’m not mistaken I think that’s where McIntyre went too didn’t he um he went one year of golf he might have gone to kenesa State no he went to MCN they’re all in the same color same area of the the country but um so Matt EES was somebody that I thought but the one that I’m very intrigued on and going to B at 500s is Adam Wallen out of Ohio State University he topped 10 the NCAA individuals last week um where he took Jackson kin who we talked about two final Hol in their uh match and then Gordon Sergeant he had done that against to took him to the wire his year wasn’t nearly as good as what e is he’s a top Fringe top 100 amateur overall but a lot of momentum carrying for he’s also representing the Home Country when he is teeing it up this year um over there he’s from Sweden so I he was the 54 hole leader in individuals he was this close to getting a spot in the Masters 500 to one in this field there’s a lot of questions I mean this was the the Aber Berg Norman event a few years ago right I know it didn’t come to fruition but not that long after it was for those guys so I like to be early it’s the perpose of for that thing right like I just think if you’re ever to a shot on these types of players like we we like to do it regardless we’ll do it at the P European open we’ll do it at wherever right but I think in an event like this where a fairly friendly atmosphere good split uh a lot of focus on it being you know a co-san event I think it’s a great time to take a player just like that the crit so absolutely love the fact that those two have been flagged and and obviously you’re happy with the father show that so um the other one and I we always you know give our friend Brad some love Michael too is another one who um is kind of bang on with a lot of there’s on the ladies side um there is another one who’s thou I think she’s a thousands as well or tenren um so she just recently graduated U I think it’s Mega or Mia mja um where she came Pro just recently um and or she might even still be it second after her first 18 holes within top 10 and her second event she didn’t play that well the rest of the stretch but another girl who was getting a shot after being high in the wagger rankings I think she was top 30 and then seeing it up here maybe she might be one if you get into the markets where they split it off um for men and women I might take a peek there by the end of the week to see if we can get kind of a steal on basically the exact same story at the women’s side but when you do it from the entire field aspect it gets a little bit more more difficult I think to overcome all of the men to yeah 100% I agree look I’ve got 1,000 to one shot for us here sky and it was the first person I bet on this week I sent think I sent you a message I definitely sent Brad one we were exchanging messages on this this morning um and it’s Daniel Gavins now we haven’t seen Daniel Gavins which I think we saw him for one event in 2024 and I was looking for like whether it was an injury or just I mean he had he had a really bad year um on the course last year when I looked at it he was interviewed um in Abu Dhabi I think it was and he was basically saying he was you know took some time off to try and get his game right because he was struggling with that and he also found out that his dad um was struggling with cancer and then it they transpired that he did unfortunately pass away his dad and and I think that’s why he’s taken the time off now you don’t know how people are going to react when they come out for the first time right but when when there’s a very definitive reason as to why someone’s been struggling um I always think let’s have a look at you know because because this is a goal for Sky not you know anything about like he’s a two time winner on DP World Tour 2021 2023 he’s two top two sixth place finishes at the Alfred Daniel links he loves to repeat form and he is one player that’s definitely thrown himself into this um format because he’s finished 15th and 12th in the last two years here uh his fifth going into the weekend the first year and and grew every every round last year um so I love that about him and I also love the fact he finished 10th in the dormy open which is also uh in Sweden on the challenge tour um so he obviously likes this part of the world he he tends to repeat form wherever he goes so look it’s been a long time out and if you go back to all the way through last year his form was absolutely horrific as well so um even prior to the situation with his dad so he could just be not playing very good golf and and there is literally no reason for it other than just struggling but I’m willing to give him a chance at thousand to1 in a format where it does allow sort of a long shot yeah I mean it absolutely allows for it I think the argument can be made that something’s crazy going to happen I mean I I will never ever get on you especially with the way you let me roam with my long shots that you have freedom for years to make these work Tom yeah I mean look I mean I’ve got a thousand chances to make it happen every I so um yeah it’s definitely a shot in the dark and look I you know full you know spoiler alert expect him to miss the cut or even withdraw because it’s been such a hard time for him and wouldn’t want to make light of the situation that he’s obviously been through but just just based on like just looking at who has thrown themselves into the event who is Lights playing in Sweden who can win where he’s shown all three of those things in the past and and he’s a thousandth one so I’ll give Daniel Gavin a shot this week awesome awesome let me give a shout out to all of our audio listeners you can find us on daily fantasy Sports Picks and Bets the mix uh we appreciate your love support kindness you know finally we had a week that didn’t go our way on the betting cards we did get a group sweat with with Guido which was fun but ultimately um you know we’re had knock on wood so far really really good 2024 and let’s continue that rolling um for the year so Tom if you want to go through your betting card for us one more time yeah so for me it’s Nicholas norgard mher cooking things off at 25 to1 Alexander Bor at 30 to1 Dan Bradbury at 55 to1 Nicole Brock estrop 55 to1 I think it’s also worth looking at Gabriel in that uh in the women’s range as well Garrick porus at 200 to one and Daniel Gavins at 1,000 to one love it love it so yep with you on alignment pretty much everywhere so Alexander Bor 321 Dan Bradberry 55s to one Garrick Porteus 200 to one and then Adam Wallen that’s spelled w l l i n 500 to one that’s at a spot where you get six places on the each way probably get him in the first round leader Market too up to top 20 and then going to look at Ma Maia or 10 grin maybe in the ladies um only Market um as we can see just depending on where that price kind of lands out um overall for her but um that puts a close on the Scandinavian mix for us next week Tom is the the US Open not as much of a representation from the DP World Tour side so we’ll probably be off next week and then kind of wrapping up June here as a DP World Tour gets uh in its full swing so thank you all again as as always and we will catch you in a couple of weeks [Music] [Music]

  1. Sky ditch the fake back ground it's affecting the stream, it is very funny though with you sounding like a Darlek and some of the faces when it freezes is hilarious. Other than that good chat yet again , All the best with this weeks picks 🤑🤑🤑🤑

  2. Looks an odd one this week, course seems to be half inland links and half parkland. Went for big hitters based on par 5's being gettable and from what I managed to see the course has long rough but if you're hitting wedge I doubt it makes a difference. Also on Norgaard and Porteus, took Svensson at 35/1 and purely based on his 3 top 20s on the PGA Norlander is way to nice at 50/1. Great insight on the amateurs coming in, gone for some FRL bets on those. Pure gamble this week with no course form and little insight
