From fan to caddie?! Fan comes up CLUTCH at RBC Canadian Open

In the final round of the 2024 RBC Canadian Open, C.T. Pan’s caddie Mike “Fluff” Cowan injured himself while walking early during the round. Spectator Paul Emerson stepped in to help Pan on the bag for a couple of holes before yielding way for two more caddies. Pan went on to shoot 1-under 69 on Sunday with four different caddies.

The PGA TOUR heads to Toronto this week for the RBC Canadian Open at Hamilton Golf & Country Club. This week is one of the last opportunities to earn a spot in the upcoming U.S. Open at Pinehurst and to qualify for the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday in seven days’ time. Nick Taylor returns after a playoff win at the 2023 RBC Canadian to become the first Canadian to win his national open in 69 years. He claimed victory at the WM Phoenix Open in February and leads all Canadians in the Official World Golf Ranking (30th). Rory McIlroy will also be in the field this week. He is the most recent winner at Hamilton Golf & Country Club, which hosted the Canadian Open in 2019. The Northern Irishman claimed back-to-back wins before finishing T12 in his return to Valhalla for the PGA Championship. Tommy Fleetwood will also tee it up in Toronto this week. He came up short against Nick Taylor last year after losing to a 72-foot eagle putt in the playoff. He has never finished outside the top-10 in two starts in Canada but is looking for his first top-10 payday on TOUR since a T3 at the Masters. Others to look out for are Sahith Theegala, Shane Lowry and Tom Kim.

CT was walking fluff off the hole over to medic just helping him off and I just said to him I said do you need a hand and he said yes please and so uh helped fluff get the bib off and threw it on and started walking up the hole fluff Cowen slipped and fell they said you know what no let’s not continue they actually brought in a random person from the gallery you know walk up and I’m shaking hands with low his caddy hey how are you and I guess that was on TV a bit but I’m just hearing a lot about it and getting a lot of my phones going off a little bit he comes over and says hello to everybody and but what an experience for this fan you said listen on the greens just you know stay off the green which I did and um on as we walked up the Fairway uh yeah he said I’m not very chatty I was like hey I’ll talk as much or as little as you want we’re good and yeah he’s a really really nice guy really really friendly oh hello thanks out that in one for one Paul yeah down new guy’s bat in a thousand he is I mean quit while you’re ahead buddy see you later oh and he Dr oh he kicked the head cover all right bat 500 now okay y first B yeah good idea don’t want two two guys wiping out right watch yourself very sfty here so on the fifth Fairway uh someone approached us and said he was sent by CAD Serv serves to replace me so I said to CT I well this is your decision I didn’t really want to stop but uh he took the person who I guess has some local knowledge had you caded before in any scenario I caddied uh once at the CP Women’s Open for a proam um for a terrible golfer so that’s my experience as a caddy so it was a much different today how’s the rest of your day going to uh shape out now well I almost want to change my shirt cuz a lot of people are like stopping me and saying hey you’re the guy cuz I guess it’s been a little bit viral so I might go shopping just fly on the radar fluff on the back to start the day Paul Emerson a local on the fourth Michael Campbell a local cadd and then Paul baran’s Cy to close out the back KN okay good at the 12 second shot coming for CT Pan the bronze medalist from Tokyo back in 2021 oh jars it bringing it back on a string holding it out I don’t live too far I’m from here I live 15 minutes away so we just got changed got ready and then came out in case and I I’ve known CT from when he played in Canada I just went over to see him and if he was okay if he needed someone and then I jumped in for the back nine yeah he hold out for Eagle that was pretty cool and and then I got all these text people are like what are you doing I saw you I saw you on TV so yeah yeah that was basically the whole story thanks for watching the PG Tour on YouTube to watch more click here to subscribe click here
