Cobra King Vintage Cuda Putter Review | Are Cobra Putters Any Good?

Really this might be more of a brand review, but recently I noticed a really good deal on a putter at my local PGA Superstore. Is Cobra for real with this?

hey guys what is up welcome back to the channel I have another putter review for you today and today we’re doing one that honestly was even kind of left field for me but we are doing a king cobra putter let’s Dive Right In and let’s see if these are actually worth gaming or not so I’m a guy that’s always liked Cobra a few years ago I had their F9 driver and I loved it I love the yellow and black uh Cobra’s def not afraid to be more young and Innovative and have really cool you know designs that are loud you know Ricky Fowler’s been with them for a long time and they kind of they kind of vibe off the whole Puma thing you know what I mean the the orange that Ricky Fowler had there’s all these limited editions they do for their drivers red white and blue Etc things like that and so when I found out they were coming out with Putters I was pretty excited now I think they’ve always had Putters in the past but with these you know it’s kind of a Rebrand it’s something new and one of the biggest things is that they actually have come out with a 3D printed model that’s one of the big things you’ll see during the headlines 3D printed is definitely an interesting way to go but it looks fantastic now what I have here is not one of those models it’s not 3D printed however it does have something that I do like which is actually the siik the sick face technology if you don’t know what that is siik or sick however you want to call it essentially made Putters for a very very long time they were very good at it and a lot of Club makers in this industry had a lot of really great things to say about them they actually swore by this technology it has to do with you know descending Loft uh it’s patented technology but siik or sick however you want to pronounce it does not make Putters on their own anymore they were bought out by La golf from what I understand so Cobra is using that technology now in their Putters and I think this is a really really good uh collaboration I think it really there’s some potential here for sure all right so real quick before I show you I dive in as far as what the putter looks like all that good stuff I do want to talk about the price real quick uh now this is last year’s model I did buy this at a discount I was in the market for a new Putter and I saw the price which is what led me to buy it but let’s pretend for a second I didn’t buy last year’s model instead I bought a new one you’re looking anywhere between $200 and $350 uh depending on which model you get you can get one of the more inexpensive models or you can also get one of their 3D printed ones which can go up to I think 350 now to me that’s expensive uh but it’s kind of relative right because if you’re someone who owns a Scotty Cameron or you get a lab putter or whatever some of these Putters now go up to $450 500 $600 on this channel we’re about value so most of the time you probably won’t see a lot of those to be honest with you and um so with that being said I got this one this is last year’s model at $150 which that’s a steal I’ll be honest with you that type of price point is a steal for a club like this um but at$ 250 again it’s relative price it’s it’s in that medium range I wouldn’t call it a great value but I wouldn’t call it overpriced either there’s a lot of Technology like I said with the sick you know face and things like that uh but let’s dive in let me show you what this looks like here so as you can see on Top This is what your putter cover looks like on top it has like a lime green kind of feel black and lime green cobra again feeding off that Puma energy this is what the type of of of design they have just like really bright colors it’s popping in there it feels pretty good it does kind of feel like a pleather it’s not super nice by any means it’s not a Scotty Cameron cover but it feels pretty good for the most part and then on the bottom there it says vintage and has the white it’s pretty cool uh it actually velcros which I like I don’t like the magnets I’ll be honest with you a lot of you I know like the magnets but the velcro is nice because I know it’s sticks with the we have rental clubs where I work at the club I work at and all of them are the spiders by Tailor Made and all of them are magnet and they don’t stay on they don’t stay on worth a darn I mean out of 18 rental sets four of them now might have a putter cover it’s just crazy how many come off so having that that I can just I know it’s on there I know it’s going to stick I love the velcro really smart decision there Cobra but we take that off and as you can see that’s what it looks like I did get this Mallet style I’ll show the exact model I got up right there uh but that’s what it looks like on top it’s got the two weights in it again highlighted by that lime green it really sticks out lime green goes with my channel really well too um but as you can tell they’re definitely proud of that sick face technology they definitely you know advertise it on there and then if we come around and look at the face it’s just gorgeous I mean it really looks fantastic it feels fantastic uh you can tell there’s a lot of Technology packed into there and I again I think it’s a really good collaboration what they’re doing here cuz just looking at it it looks and feels phenomenal way better than the Wilson I was using way better than any of the putters I’ve tested so far um this is really really nice this is something I would pay a premium for for sure the face matters on the putter it’s probably the one of the most important things about the putter um but as you can see the three lines on top there I like that no you’re not going to be able to pick up the ball with this but I just like this design I liked how it was weighted and felt um I enjoy it and then of course if you look at the shaft here this is a KBS 120 putter shaft again highlighted by that lime green um you can tell that there are some really good details in here I mean they use a k shaft they use the siik face um and another thing the grip which we haven’t even gotten to this is a this is standard this is what it came with was a super stroke um again highlighted by the green it has a cobra C on top so this is another collaboration they did uh the super stroke tour 2.0 that’s already a great grip I didn’t have to get this regripped every other putter I’ve had I’ve always had to get them regripped 30 40 bucks right out of the gate not here so I spent 150 bucks on this last year’s model I don’t have to to regrip it the the grips wereth 30 it’s really like only paid 120 so really enjoy that about it but yeah it looks fantastic I love how it it it just it looks professional you know I mean it looks like someone really put a lot of care and thought into this club so it passes that let’s go ahead and hit a couple balls with it let’s just make sure that it passes the field as long as it passes the feel it’s worth having and if you’re someone who’s thinking about getting a club like this it might well be worth it all right I know I’m off camera here but I did want to I’m going to putt to this hole that you can see toward the bottom of the camera here uh one thing I’m going to do is I actually have four five different golf balls they’re all different brands they’re all different makes they’re all from different years and what I’m really going to do here is I’m going to see how the feel is based on each of these golf balls so let’s just take a feel here and see if if now a lot of the time with Mallet Putters you can’t tell the difference because they’re so heavy they’re so weighted everything comes off really soft so you can’t really tell that feel so let’s see if that’s the case here my first thoughts yeah definitely a dead sound uh dead feeling get in there yeah I mean same thing there uh another good putt actually not too bad that was a chrome Tour X that’s the golf ball I’m currently testing that one we knows a lot firmer but there’s no click there there’s no it really has a subdued sound it has a subdued feel that’s how a lot of Mallet Putters are so if you’re not someone who likes that uh it’s it’s going to be a turnoff yeah again um that was awful that was a Nitro ball I don’t even know why I hit that uh but really dead feel really bad there we go oh that felt kind of nice that was crisp little Mojo Mojo there this last one I have here actually this is another Nitro this is hilarious I use them as yard balls cuz they’re well they’re not even really worth that but yeah not a good roll yeah so the Nitro balls are irrelevant let me grab another one real quick this is a titals prov1x this is an older model one let me just hit this one real quick get another feel yeah that’s that’s what I figured I mean that’s that’s what I thought all right so my kind of worst fear kind of came true now is it something that I can Overlook it is it might be something you can Overlook too I don’t know uh but with this club every golf ball pretty much feels the same I mean they really do they they it feels the same because the the club is so heavy it’s meant for forgiveness it’s meant to be able to forgive you on M hits it’s meant to be able to just barely bring the club back uh it’s really good for beginners intermediates this Mallet design even Pros are using this now too so there’s really no limit on who can use it uh but a lot of people want that forgiveness in there you know you see a lot of Pros using the spider and everything those are mallets as well um my honest thought on this is that I’m a guy that loves feedback I love being able especially when I’m testing golf balls I test golf balls all the time so I want to know the feedback well I have to keep a blade putter out here anyway for all the Golf Ball Reviews I’m going to be using that one probably for the majority of my reviews because everything feels and sounds exactly the same everything is subdued everything is which you could say okay well that’s consistent yes it is but again if you’re someone who has been playing for a while or you’ve been using a specific golf ball for a while you might really like the sound of that feedback you might like how it comes off the club or or how it feels in your hands like that feedback it provides when you hit the center that’s just not the case here this is just going to be pretty plain Jane now that’s probably the intended design so if you’re someone who can deal with that I I honestly recommend these Putters this is fantastic I love how it performs I love what it does um I love how it looks I think Cobra has done a phenomenal job of Dipping their toes into this competitive market for Putters I never normally would have seen myself with a cobra putter there’s definitely a lot more that were on my list but when I started doing the research I saw this at that discounted rate at 150 and like I said earlier 150 is a steal for this club it’s a steal for it I mean with the technology that’s packed in here with the amount of details that’s packed in here and the fact that it it it checks all the boxes it it has a true role it comes off the club now sure it might turn some people off having everything sound dead and everything feel dead but if it’s not going to turn you off man I can’t think of a better value than $150 now if all these are sold out by this point and and all there is is the new models at 250 300 is it still worth it I don’t know I’m a guy who really really loves value a lot you know the first putter I’ve been using for the last three years has been the Wilson I bought it for $100 brand new and it was on my golf spies you know top five Putters for that year and had the most Strokes gained for within 10 ft it’s 100 bucks you know what I mean so really when it comes to these Putters it’s going to be about what you’re comfortable with about what you like you know you’re going to know when you’re testing Putters out somewhere and you hit that one and it just feels right you’ll know but if your question coming into this was hey I’m interested in this putter is it actually worth the money are they any good absolutely lots of love lots of detail packed into this thing and I would definitely recommend it to anybody so I’m going to be using it for a while probably for the next few years you know just like I did to Wilson uh but overall guys I really appreciate you being here keep watching to keep saving and keep learning until next time

  1. Never thought of this one either. It’s $150 on Amazon and sold by Amazon which makes an easier return.
I’m fascinated by the new LAB 3.0 putter…but for $500 it better have AI to show me where to putt.

  2. Bought the Nova for $150 last fall as my first putter that wasn't found in my grandpa's friend's basement lol. The value is awesome, and the sik face just puts it over the top. Just a cool piece of kit.

  3. I actually have one in my spare bag that I let my friends and relatives use when they visit us as we live on a course. I tried it in the store and must have made a dozen putts in a row, so I bought it with great expectations. However—I haven't made a putt with the darn thing since lol.
