DOUBLE MEDALING AT ADCC PHOENIX: the Quest for DOUBLE GOLD in Women’s Jiujitsu



Still getting the hang of YouTube! Accidentally posted this before I was ready lol but here ya go!

ADCC Phoenix was rough for me. I had 2 weight cuts two weekends in a row. Definitely not my smartest decisions but I’d probably make them again. This really messed me up internally.

I was so excited to get out there and compete in 2 divisions! I loved the experience and the intensity. I love the game, I genuinely live for this and I’m so happy this is the life I chose.

I got gold in 65KG and silver in 60KG. Lost by points in the finals round.

I’m on my way to the top, I know there will be some road bumps, let’s watch it all happen.

[Applause] hey guys my name is Taylor Moore and I’m a Dy competitor who’s about to compete at 80cc tomorrow I’m competing in both the 60 kg Division and the 65 kg division fingers crossed by double gold or something I just want to get out there and have fun and also win so these are the parts of djit that no one really talks about when you’re one pound over and the competition starts way ends in two hours you’re so tired and you’ve been sweating all day and you’re dehydrated and you don’t want to do it anymore well you do it Al you don’t make weight I am cutting weight right now for 80cc to get in that 60 kg division I’m going to do both the 60 kg and 60 5 kg division um but in order to do the 60 kg I have to get down to 132 and then I have a 0.5 kg allowance which is a 1.1b allowance so okay so I’m currently with all my clothes on 134.4 and I feel like I can’t even make coherent sentences because I am so tired so hungry and all I want to do is just eat so I’m just hoping that like without without my clothes and everything I’m 133 like six or something like that so I’m just hoping that as soon as I get there I pee I can go way in and then the 80cc legal weight allowance is like 133 like 3 something so we’re cutting it close here covering my toes for some people I don’t want them to see my toes I’m 133.6k it looks like we will so I’m here at we’s it’s this big barn thing it’s one of my favorite things to compete at because I feel like it has the toughest competitors and I really like I haven’t drink water in two days thank you that felt spiritual my first drink of water in like 24 hours no not 24 it’s been like it’s been like 12 I think I’m just being a baby it’s been like 12 I stopped drinking water last night I just wasn’t drinking a whole lot of water yesterday I stopped actually drinking water last night and then today I’ve just been suffering in the bath so having some ice cold water feels really good very nice to see you your highlight reel got sent to me like 47 times yeah yeah respond to me I think that’d be really cool I was like who is this girl like everyone is sending me this you had see you so I’m super excited to compete I’m really normal for a Jiu-Jitsu comp and I feel like anyone who does who says they’re not nervous is just not challenging themselves in a hard enough bracket if you know that the girls around you are killers then you will be nervous so I am at the open all the action is happening behind me and I’m competing in like 30 minutes so I’m just going to get started warming up [Music] soon watch the guard pole I’ve already won the um the 65 kg so I’m just hoping that I can get that double gold here I am getting some more coffee before my last match just because I like to drip caffeine into my body profusely so more coffee right now all I have to do is win one more match and I will have gotten double gold at ADCC Phoenix so I’m incredibly excited um I won it so [ __ ] bad so I’m just trying to do everything that I can to get myself in the best possible position I’m a huge caffeine addict so I double medaled at 8cc intermediate I won Gold at 65 kg and I’m so incredibly proud of my first gold in ADCC but I thought today was going to be the day that I double medled or double golded I got this in the 60 kg I’m still incredibly proud of myself I had so many matches today I fought so many hard competitors and I’m just so grateful to be here thank you guys so much for tuning in and hopefully next time I get that double goal but for now [Music] this is me in Arizona I’m I’m Arizona now I have   8. I saw your last finals match Taylor. That girl was a beast! You did really well not to get submitted but she did physically dominate you. But you did Great to only lose one match. I hope you don't have to face her again though.
