Starting the third round at the Lancaster Country Club of the US Women’s Open Championship. There are two former open winners, along with a 15 year old amateur out on the playing course competing for that trophy. Now there’s also a big push at this championship to get young girls involved in golf. Right here, there’s a junior experience. It’s called 1 Million More Girls So far in combination teaming up, The LPGA and USGA have gotten 1 million girls signed up involved in this program and they want 1 million more by the year 2030. Basically, it enables girls to get involved in golf, to afford equipment and opportunities to learn the game. I am so inspired by the course right now and all the people who are out here supporting the women athletes. I am going to sign them up for golf lessons tomorrow. I think girls can do any. This effort to get more young people and girls involved in golf has a number of contests, including this poster contest. And a 16 year old student from Lancaster County actually submitted the winning design.
