these are the most underrated irons of 2024 and today we’re going to show you why let’s do [Music] it feels so good right everyone welcome back to the golf man channel enjoy myself Johnny and willwoods behind the camera at the king fisher course at Mannings heat golf of Min State we’ve got a quite special dark course Ison don’t we Johnny we do indeed the Wilson Dino Power without uh forg so this is kind of a players distance fine just for clarity the 79 is 30.5 De which is pretty much p790 which is 30° and you can kind of tell that by the profile of it down at the addess can’t you yeah you absolutely can quite a thick Top Line is yeah quite a thick Top Line I’d say it’s probably slightly larger head profile than the p790s they why currently game at the moment just looking down it I mean there’s not a huge amount in it but I I do think they’re slightly larger just surface area of the face um and a slightly higher toe as well yeah absolutely I mean I think Wilson in general for these kind of uh irons and for this year especially with the staff models um they’ve been real big improvements um this kind of sits in the middle but it’s a little bit almost hidden almost cuz we’ve got the dino power which is more game improvement this is that kind of plays disty but i’ I’ve heard a lot of things and this is why we’re here today to review them and the tech is quite cool as well we’ve got a variable face thickness in all of them which is going to really enhance forgiveness wor if you’re hitting out the heel and out the toe um as well as that obviously thei position CG position to make it kind of low Center gravity highi maximum forgiveness you can kind of see a trend here and talk to me about these so we’ve got a power hole in the long two mid irons there um quite an interesting uh way in which it’s been engineered there isn’t it yeah it’s it’s I have to say I’m I’m actually a massive fan of w n I think they criminally underrated this is one design decision that I’m actually not a massive fan of I can understand that um I in terms of just in the bag I don’t think it’s great to look at um but having said that if it does improve the performance intrudes of face flexion and stuff really really good distance here and I mean we’ve hit them already a little bit and one thing I’m noticing is that sound is really good so perhaps the face flexion the low cgmi could be really optimal you do you do also get that feel of a kind of fully forged construction which is something you don’t often get in player distance l or game improvement I say this kind of fall somewhere between the two but that adds hugely to the feel of the face and and arguably the sound as well very well said we are going to check out that feel that sound that forg everything here now cuz this is the perfect help to do it we get some balls oh yeah okay so we got about what 60 70 yards about 170 yards into a bit of a breeze here in the king fish of course at M he we’ve got a wonderful gc3 that we’re going be using for every single video and we’re going to see the numbers here and what happens so I’ve got six iron for this shot 170 yards into a bit of Breeze I think this should hopefully be the right Club cool let’s see it let’s see if I’m just going to aim middle of the green I’m not going to try and go for the pin okay let’s see how we get on you know it’s funny so with gc3 um as it’s photometric rather than Doppler is going to measure um the true yardage when there’s not a wind in your face it’s gone bloody miles 186 yards carry that’s a long way for a six sign these potent these are players distance um but I mean I did I did I did pull it a touch as well so that’s obviously also going to add yardage yeah 100% I the main thing that I think we’re going to talk about today with these irons the thing that I think fascinates me so much with them is kind of the sound off the face that felt lovely as well it feels superb and again we’re talking about a players distance L here really need to kind of firm that with you guys watching like we’re comparing this to the likes of p790 um I’d go so far as to say the sound and feel is better than the p790s I I 100% agree is the performance overall as good we’ll find out hit a few more good numbers are six on yeah so that’s just front right yeah and spin spin is like 5’7 really really good there pretty optimal yeah pretty optimal 175 carry and that’s obviously I’d say that’s a kind of truer reflection of how I would hit a ball straight the one before went a bit further that’s just a kind of hooked it slightly okay 175 is kind of just where I’m kind of aiming for my six iron to be it’s kind of optimal optimal yardage okay I’m hoping that it can be picked up with the uh the audio here just how it sounds compared to other we can do comparison to other game improvement irons players distance signs but it it sounds I think as good as as anything on the market that was spot on yeah feel so good like a tour player yeah the noise is like like I’m watching Colin morawa again that one that we be happier pulled slightly 185 spin yeah absolute bullet right let me just hit one more yeah yeah I don’t think you want to stop no don’t really these feel F it’s funny because I think I think the sound is actually quite different to the staff model CB and MB like that but just because I guess it’s got a little bit more more meat behind it and that sound is a lot more just like it’sit more powerful yeah 100% the add yeah the added kind of muscle behind the ball just AIDS acoustic slightly another one you might to put this in your bag 188 yards it’s enough yeah lovely I mean I’ve I’ve kind of I’ve sadly having saying I wasn’t going to go for the pin all of those have gone straight out the pin and then just turned slightly left at the end but I I mean if we were playing a normal round of golf I’d be happy of them they just kind have just marginally missed the G average the 127 M ball speed is really strong yeah oh M those numbers are so good I mean looking at your spin rate looking at it’s all optimal 5400 183 yards 184 yards even launch angle maybe could say a touch High um but I think that’s more down to the Sha rather than anything else but like that punch that’s Punchy I I I normally kind of my p790s I I reckon I average with a six L about 175 inter to 18 180 optimal spin as well yeah yeah so I’ve kind of increased what increased yardage that’s that’s always good to see we’re not seeing anything that’s like you I could say oh it’s gone really far but because spin’s like 4,200 we’re seeing numbers across the board there even I’m actually quite surprised by that let me just change it to an A B flight was nice as well yeah we we we’re on to something here I think we’ve talked about it initially in this video to have um a players distance iron that performs like that that feels like that I think is something that we perhaps haven’t seen in a while um only because usually I mean you get something that feels really explosive and that is explosive but it’s almost like it’s a hollow body you feel it don’t you I would say in terms of feel and sound the closest thing we’ve tested to this is probably the Titus T200 yeah good that’s that’s a good and that’s that’s a real like that’s one of if not the best isn’t it when you’re comparing your Wilson which again is I’ll give you this which is a bit underrated yeah um to titless which is I think the number one for irons in the number one yeah probably title Muno you put at the top of the pecking order wouldn’t you that’s as big of a comp of a compliment I think we can give to Wilson um the the price haven’t mentioned it is pretty um normal I believe it’s about 1,000 a little bit under which is good um but in hesty you get what you’re paying for I for a fully forged Club as well um happy days there’s nothing wrong with that okay let me see if I can so what have you what you’ve got an eight IR here haven’t you strong I have indeed got an A an a I would expect these I’m expecting big things um I I am after seeing your absolute stripe show I am um quite excited to just see if I can mimic it let’s see I tell you what wasn’t the best strike at all maybe touch low yeah touch low touch Healy so yeah I mean your spin your spin was low there just just below 6,000 carry 182 rolled out a fair amount it’s rolled out to about 195 yards quite good that that was maybe a groove or two low was Gro too low a few millimeters on the hill we’ve got variable face thickness here so it’s good that we can see I mean that was absolute rocket straight there you take it all day if we didn’t if he told me that from this shot here I’m in the middle of the green having a thir birdie part every single time from PJ T statistics Happy Days yeah so we got good forgiveness um I just want to want to get that feel that you had come on ah getting a little bit out of the top I think I don’t know that was actually a bad strike spins climb yeah your spins climbed there carry 177 188 total okay full speed’s good IIT that well I I just left the face open slightly um haven’t felt it just yet in terms of what you have but that was definitely that the the noise is what I what I heard there yeah let’s see if I can a good shot it’s a real thrash through the ground I like it a lot that’s lovely yeah that was nice bit handsy of a swing but I mean spin’s good attaching the green yeah 76 for an eight iron that’s kind of around around where you want it to be is0 yards I’ll tell you what it’s almost a good thing here because this isn’t a blade right players distance Lon um those three swings I wouldn’t say I’m at my best there yeah I would say I’m up racing about a five out of 10 but you’ve got three on the green three on the green right yeah and IIT have I hit four you have hit three and I hit three on the green actually missed one slightly right yeah you got two on the green okay and now I hit a draw yeah bit to bit to I’m interested with the numbers with that still really good numbers yeah spin a touch low spin yeah spin is a touch low you’d probably want that to be in the sevens when let’s hit one more now that 6,800 yeah but again consistency is good for those overall data metrics and I pied it all across the face I mean yeah your disparity from kind of left to right with a couple of pretty Wayward strikes has been pretty good okay let’s now aim at that tree behind it and hit the draw oh yeah that’s the one is the one that’s all over it that’s a beautiful ball right pin High pin high so yeah I mean your spin there is slow yeah a touch flow that one but I mean your carry distance is still getting out the 180 rolling out to 190 I mean that one actually I think we’re looking at GC we’re looking at gc3 numbers here that one actually stopped on a dime once got yeah yeah 100% there’s um a lot of things I think you look for irons and the main thing for me is like consistency right performance sound feel so I mean your average spin rates there were almost bang on 7,000 which I think pretty pretty good yeah and average carry about 180 that’s that’s bang on again what I have um four 7,000 for an iron that I’ve hit across the face that’s really good at the middle will probably climb up to about 7600 or so you’re stoping on a dime it’s really really good dispersion as well I’m hitting the green most of the time you feel confident with it let’s do a quick closer to the pin just to finish off okay you go first no I’m going to use Wilson star look at him look at him go how many shots do you want one I want to keep hitting this for as long as possible so we’ll go two okay two so close to the PIN to Lun there’s a little worm let me just move that little F out the way so he doesn’t get eviscerated by this club oh no that’s actually in the H keep coming a touch short it was I have to say that wasn’t the wind killing it there 188 really yeah it didn’t feel like a fantastic connection okay but having said that the result was was very very I again I can’t tell with that sound but that sound I was like middle I’m in trouble I’m dead here oh yeah that felt I think I maybe just caught it a touch low okay but the um yeah the wind has just kind of knocked it back wind now maybe one more real want a really Middle come on middle crap out this yeah it over that’s a shame but um okay the window’s there okay well I don’t think I’m going to win any closer to the Ping competitions of either of those unfortunately lunch is calling Jonathan but um but once again I can’t can’t F clubs I have to say feel sound is gorgeous so would you game them I would 100% game 100% game these is I mean I’ve not hit I’ve not hit typically when we do this as much as I like to think that all of the shots on camera are gorgeous yeah the quite often not the case but I can hold my hands up and say I actually don’t think I’ve hit a bad shot no you’ve I don’t think I’ve actually seen you hit as good of a selection of shots yeah today as Johnny is hit there i’ I’ve only managed to get one on the green but the strikes were good ah shut up oh that is money oh it hasn’t come back I thought i’ hit that as a draw as well it just kind of stayed bone straight that’s a great shot a nice shot yeah that’s that’s I think that’s kind of back right half back right that’s that was I think out of all the shots of it so far that was the best of it yeah that sounded great yeah 188 yards which is an absolute that’s a long way yeah so if you haven’t picked up on it so far in this review these irons sound seriously good oh sorry fade no I thought it was good I mean it’s still it’s all right a good shot a little bit low you go up and down from there wouldn’t you oh no I probably make a double but I mean we’ve now seeing some really nice shots from both of us well played sir well played I think I think these are we said at the start this video one of the most underrated isons of this year I still think this is surprise us isn’t it hitting these today massively yeah I mean it shouldn’t because we’ve tested enough wson irons now to know that they are one of the best brands in the market but they are criminally underrated and this is arguably the most impressive I’ve been from by Wilson iron so far since I’ve been at golf magic yeah completely agree be interesting to know your guys thoughts of Wilson in general but if you guys have tried the Wilson Dino Power forged irons I think that Forge aspect puts it right at the top for players I could not stress this enough you can tell this video what we think about them Johnny might be playing them in a few months time who knows who knows we’ll find out guys did enjoy this video though here at
