against the young Indian pair of P jolly and deatri dellaa here’s how it all fits in to the draw we know the first semi-final that should be some tomorrow should it Chen and against the young Chinese 16 players making their way onto Court as you can see they weren’t particularly convincing yesterday i’ got to say Kim and Kong but today’s another day as they say and they do start heavy favorites against the Indians jolly and Pella just been the one previous meeting between these pairs went the way of the Koreans couple of years ago there it is the Asian Games it did go three games though and it lasted nearly an hour and a half that match [Applause] ranked six in the world Kim and Kong which is also their seeding here and of course they are the Olympic bronze medalists from Tokyo back in the 2021 One World Championship silver and a couple of bronze medals as well haven’t got to a final this season though these two their best was semi at the all England in Birmingham in Mar much Kong is 4 years younger than her partner of course she was part of that Uber Cup winning Korean team back in 2022 very very successful PA 11 World Tour titles four of them last year including the all England however as I said yesterday they had a real battle against Kitty herac pongi saved all any number of gain points eventually came through 21 21 23 21 but it was touch and go at times so that might be a bit of encouragement for the Indian pair jolly and Pella both are 21 years of age they ranked 30 now they have been much higher than that or 14 as you can see on the screen that was pretty much exactly a year ago actually common wealth James bronze in Birmingham a couple of years [Applause] back only World Tour title was a super 100 the adisha open in fact both the tournaments they’ve won they won the an international challenge as well the year before both been on home soil in India it did get to the final of the S Modi which is a super 300 a couple of years ago although they did have a tremendous win yesterday against Beck and Lee that’s a serious confidence Builder Eddie susanto from Singapore is our chair rire here and he will be assisted by that gentleman Manu Sakurai of fair to say even in even in Victory no they were not convinc they won both games and extra points against K and P and on the other hand I think three and they impressed me yesterday with the win against oh my God [Music] [Applause] yeah it’s a great win against the number two seeds for the Indians can they follow it up today and take down another Korean pair will be who letter to serve first where they have been U they have been bucked by injury problems Kim suong has been out uh for a while wasn’t part of the Korean U Cup team that was U trying to defend their title from 2022 and um jol and Teresa Jolly andan they didn’t play here for India they play with Asia uh Championships in February where they surprisingly got a win confidence also following an angry to out also jeopardized their Olympic aspirations so to this two Indians the two Koreans they [Applause] are he [Applause] hey attack ration play by the Indians like the mindset early on from the two young younger players in yellow that they certainly come to try and be on the front foot against the number six seeds attacking is probably the best policy for them I would think they they’re definitely not afraid to attack they mostly excelled at all England but um definitely themselves there [Music] two um semifinals the all England as as I recall it well the Korean challenging here Ser was called in and Hawkeye will with the drift and penetrate defense or will the Koreans still be able to control their lifts and for and jolly to lift [Applause] eventually nice nice good job from Teresa Jolly to improved her Fitness as well excellent play great defensive play from L how is moving there senses that it’s a good shot and opportunities will occur it’s obvious theing R here that John and po they they play with a little bit of extra confidence in their sh towards the back which is what we’ve discussed and well coming out firing for this second game that’s for sure [Music] that’s a good interception by Pella that’s that’s super important because there’s going to be some challenges there from Kim and Kong in the service situation great Serv I think J thought about leaving it yeah y it look like it was heading wide but just have a moment to make that Split Second decision [Music] seconds defense again immed attack good lift good long lift and that was one of the question marks I had whether that would be significant or the Koreans still were able to convert that’s way way too short that lift [Applause] though exemplifying the intricacies lifting From The Far Side of the court if you get the right length you’re in good shape but a little bit too short and then it’s big big problems yeah she knew that they were kind of towards the back of the court and deception was the order of the day and look how far forward and jolly were standing there knowing that the Koreans have a tough time playing their back with confidence [Applause] well certainly just the start that the Indian pair wanted we dro the opening game having said that Kim and Kong came from behind in the first game here and in both games yesterday in the second round match oh that is close just taking up find the nothing really yeah and a lot of straight smashes [Applause] [Music] 11 of the last 15 points to Kim and Kong and it feels like it too doesn’t it yeah feels like momentum is firmly with the at the moment more winners fewer erors and TR and P somehow reestablish a bit of Rhythm here it’s the fastest smash of the match as you saw thank you [Applause] [Music] [Applause] they’ve um they’ve redeemed themselves in my opinion Kim and Kong from yesterday where they weren’t all tooing against always good to get better as the tournament goes on rather the other way around yeah suddenly there a lot of daylight on this scoreboard [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] seems a long time ago doesn’t it B J and P was 73 up in this game 73 yeah they’ve just been second best pretty much since then nice [Music] difficult situation for the Koreans they were 1812 up and everything was peace and no danger and then in double quick time they faced a decid against the pair who’s gotten confident the [Applause] B 9 when that happens here it is [Music] [Applause] two seconds I think those cross attacks are really efficient very very difficult to defend against especially when you can make your way a little bit forward on the court 11 11 [Music] [Applause] natural return from Kong when she’s defending with her backand and it’s difficult to make it stay inside because the sideway DFT can take it as we saw it happened here challenging another of the umpire’s calls here did this in the first game and didn’t get any CH see what happens here yeah he’s um he’s right on the ball is Eddie Santo chire over 8 [Applause] 14 I feel joh she was able to put it on the uh outside of the cross player there be very very difficult for the Koreans to [Applause] defend really off the game at the front Court [Applause] first really got confident there when they first launched their comeback in the second [Applause] game well she saw the funny side of it Kim so young but that’s not so amusing from Korean pair’s point of view the way they were Peg back in the second game and now they Trail in the [Applause] third the whole of the match has changed where we were literally 10 or 15 minutes ago that was going out as well wasn’t it it was going out H from out on the right side to out on the left side come here that that’s often what happens that that you feel you got the match under control and then suddenly it’s one all and we’re a little confused what are we going to do boyy that is a magnificent shot from Teresa Jolly her whole body is showing a smash look at that and then totally reduces the at the net set up by Jolly putting pressure on the attack over 18 [Applause] point the Koreans every single time I don’t think that should too she’s very very opening her attack with a disguised drop pressure on their opponents the Umpire calls unsighted didn’t really want to make the call there it’s hold to adjudicate one is losing a challenge [Music] [Music] well [Applause] short just another to add to the list in this match I understand that she didn’t leave the court [Applause] oh that’s fantastic retrieval by jol another one wow [Applause] well P from the Indian Point of View would have been incredible point to have won after Ro pickup through that point that one was amazing it can still be important because it it plays on the minds of your opponents a lot comes back so might end up um provoking Kim and Kong to overdo some of their attacking [Applause] possibilities another service era it’s amazing isn’t it [Applause] [Applause] just super efficient [Applause] [Music] [Applause] and it works so well because he’s got the power smash to uh back it up with it looks like a power smash Koreans have to move back to respect it that’s a fantastic defense from that was important I think that would have been 1713 a four-point pushing for the Indians 174 but still no 1713 yeah but but if uh sorry yeah [Applause] yeah it just seems that every time we get to it obviously not in that second game but generally certainly yesterday as well in their second round match every time Kim and Kong had a a critical moment they seem to find a way to escape I wonder if they’re going to do the same here and what about the services that’s short again it’s unbelievable just so concerned with having their first serve dealt with it it’s just certainly longer than she wants but she’s earing expect it to come back and especially now expected to come back to the front Court it takes some BS it took some BS for Koreans to play that um lift that one there literally trying to troll over the
