The Crushers lead the league in World Series Championships with 3. The problem? They have not won since 2019. Their hall-of-fame captain, Caden Sartain, hasn’t played at an MVP level as of late, and they haven’t been able to construct a well-rounded team for years. They look to end the drought after taking Cooper Carley as the #1 pick. In the last two years of Como Blitzball, the team with the #1 pick in the draft ended up winning the World Series that same year. Can the Crushers make it three years in a row? The road doesn’t start easy as they play the defending champs of 2023.

The Riptides are coming off an impressive campaign in 2023, capping it off with a World Series win. But this year it’s a whole new challenge. They lost their best player, the #2 ranked player in all of Blitzball in Trent Severino. He started his own Blitzball franchise with the Vipers, and the Riptides have to look to someone else to lead them to victory. It looks promising as they take Reece Clapp as the #2 pick, who used to be one of the best players in Blitzball until he retired and finally came back. A lot of pressure lies on the captain now, today starts a new story with Hudson Borgmeyer’s team in 2024.

welcome to opening day 2024 and we have two teams with two very new stories you have The Crushers that had the number one overall pick in the draft and selected Cooper Carly and up to this point over the last two seasons the team who took the number one overall selection ended up winning the World Series what do you think the Crushers chances are I mean you got to like those stats if you’re Kaden seeing that the the number one pick the last two years has kind of walked to a ship now Kaden has that number one overall pick rip tides Trent’s not here for them anymore Hudson’s 0 and five without Trent in his career we got Cooper the number one pick I I have trust in my Players let’s go win a ball game we’re going to win this year we have the rip TI who selected right after The Crushers and picked our guy ree clap a two-time World Series champion used to be the captain of the Badgers and now joining Hudson on the rip tides I mean what are you expecting for Reese he is the in the middle of his college baseball season you know the amount of innings that he’s going to throw is a little questionable the biggest story is his pitching like you said is a college baseball player and is often playing college baseball games the day before these games so he is a little questionable on whether or not he’ll be throwing or how much he’ll be throwing but when he does expect him to be lights out and that’s going to be the story for the rip tides hello you know it’s ring Champion rip tides looking new looking fresh you know we got a new team today lost Trent but picked up a guy who’s won more World Series than Trent re clap pretty excited about that wi’s bling out to left you know our whole team is righties Crushers you know they’re best there’s a lefty so I don’t know how that’s going to fair but it’s going to be a good game I’m happy to announce comeo Blitz ball 2024 has officially started is a start to a championship season Hudson borm the captain of the rip ties will be your starting pitcher and as usual Kaden stain the captain for the Crushers up first this is a matchup Kaden has had a lot of success he pummeled his pitching let’s see if he can do it I mean Hudson’s mainly going to feature that screw ball and here comes the first pitch of 2024 I mean not not a great start Kayon chases it another foul ball two strikes on kayen after the spiked ball to start he definitely looks confident there but two strikes on Full Count pitch first at bat at 2024 that’s going to be a walk Caden is on first base and remember only three batters in your lineup this season Blake sappingfield did get traded this off season to The Crushers from the Phoenix and he’s looking to be a hot bat for this team I mean this lineup is going to need some hitting depth it’s going to have to come from Blake Safi reys are you going to come in and do something about this the 5 deliver from Hudson and it’s backto back walks to start this one first overall selection in the 2024 draft now stepping in the third batter for The Crushers personally in warm-ups I was locating the Zone fine there is a strike from Hudson Borg me first one in quite a while 4- one the count can get a r down ground ball to the third base side Hudson’s brother he’s going to get past him Kaden running in and a run will score for the Crushers the first run of 2024 comes off the bat of Cooper Carly who else who else that’s got to be the guy and right now he’s already the guy down the third Baseline and an error over there I mean probably would have been a single regardless but the Run definitely came in because I mean the ball got past him at third it’s close game he’s probably coming be honest oh popped up Third Base side and no re itch in the pitch right now the deliver to Caden pop up in the air foul territory back to back foul balls two stri my mom just told me to tie my shoe now I’m thinking about it two strikes to Kaden Hudson fighting back inside and that’s going to be a walk bases are now loaded for The Crushers nobody out I mean kind of a nightmare scenario right now for the rip ties yeah and it honestly is scary because when you have the Bas is loaded and you’re struggling to find the Zone it means you have to just attempt to locate there’s often times where you just leave it over the middle for a hitter to groove one you know if the ball comes into play I’m running with a loose shoelace ground ball and it’s G it’s going through and a run scores what a throw by Reese we might not see him on the M but you just see a bullet from the field there still going to score a run though that’s that’s an RBI but uh ree in the field delivers a bullet saves another run uh you know honestly good Play All Around great hit by Blake great play in the field by Reese but it does score a run two zero Crushers it’s a good start oh oh no no no no my shoe was untied during that Noah Swafford into the game new rule the fourth batter has to hit at least once in every single game [Music] in the air Hudson will range over make the catch almost got the double play over there at third but Cooper able to get back good play there from hson to hop off the mound make the catch and that’s out number one there we go that was a good cut and a ground ball back to Hudson Hudson is sprinting home out made hits the Zone in time before Cooper is able to reach home another big play by Hudson he is all over the place here today hopping off of the mound and two outs that man was feeling his position I mean he’s ready as soon as he delivers that ball he’s ready to just go wherever the ball goes and that’s what he’s done he’s got two outs for his team uh got to get this left out though that heads up play rip ties without Trent when Hudson’s Captain is own five you’re on that own five team big hack and a swing from Blake just under that that one could have been hit hard oh what a pitch from Hudson on the screw ball inside corner Full Count Bas is loaded the delivery one reset 75 mph speed limit all right this is where it gets interesting this year instead of just walking the runner home it’s 75 M hour the second at betat and then if he walks him again it’s a walk home good start Cooper’s going to start it up for us you guys don’t know Cooper but you guys are about to figure out who Cooper is he got a hit got an RBI single and now he’s about to shut it down Cooper Carly first overall selection is your starting pitcher and his first pitch in comoo Blitz ball this is all I ever needed what a second pitcher this is all I ever needed swinging a Miss on that one fouls it off fouled back two strik on Hudson though delivery from Cooper with two strikes foul ball I mean you saw it in the World Series last year that boy Hudson has figured out how to stay in at bats and then is scary as a pitcher he’s doing a great job of it again doing fighting pitches often then working a walk like that there you go rip TI’s first runner is going to be on base and officially back stepping into the box ree clap two-time World Series champion but let me tell you something he’s not known for the best was sh that I mean it looks good when he swings swings really hard at it dude reys has the biggest swing in the league oh good pitch there by Cooper inside porun strike two to ree two strike pitch got him Josh Bradley up third in the order for the rip ties although it will get scary if he keeps throwing this this two team over and over they might catch up oh big swing there from Josh I mean Cooper is sticking with that same exact two steamer down the middle he just throws strikes I love it two strikes on him in play little check swing and he’s out at first a good play there by The Crushers Hudson will move over to Third Base but a good play there by Cooper moves to his right throws it across the field and gets Josh Bradley at first now two outs in the inning it’s good to see your player can do all three things Pitch hit and field because he really didn’t rush that took his time and still made a perfect throw that’s hard with the win man good throw that’s hard Hudson bgm who was literally fighting off every two seam uh you’re going to have to throw this dude something else I’m going to be honest all right well Hudson wants this match up again he he took a good couple hacks the two seam he might he might turn that around real quick find out ground ball Noah Swafford over his second base throws to Caden and he’s safe and a run will come in for the rip ties Bat on Ball for Hudson bourm finds a way to get him in and a 3-1 ball game now with two outs Hudson I mean he’s he’s looking fantastic as of recent at the plate didn’t used to be known for that we’re good we’re good are he’s calling time to the cameraman nice reys is not going to hit it re oh my gosh Rees can hit the rip ties now got Runners on first and second base Josh Bradley up he’s going to go to him soon I feel like he comes back with the two Steam down the middle got him to chase on that one I mean it was still a two Seer but got a little drop action on it got Josh to swing a miss and that will end our first inning 3 to one ball game in favor of The Crushers now headed into the second I mean at the end of the day I guess the massive thing is that he’s throwing strikes that’s that’s huge at the end of the day I love Cooper on my team man he just throw strikes if they hit it they hit it I don’t care we’re not going to allow a lot of runs you looked good out there though the rip ties are bringing in a relief pitcher and it is Josh Bradley he did not have an appearance the entire 2023 we just saw him sit 79 there he’s got the speed limit he got a two he’s got a screw ball uh he has what it what it takes but yeah like like you said Reese sticking to his word we’re not going to see him at least this inning Bradley in and a big swing there from Ken I mean the eyes lit up he wanted to swing really hard he got the screw ball Kaden does love the screw balls D look in the room Kaden had one of his worst com Blitz ball seasons ever last year so the oh he gets hit again I believe which would put him on first base it does good pitch inside corner by Josh Bradley looks good here early that’s exciting oh Josh Bradley backto back strikes that’s right down the pipe little armide run oh knuckle oh he came with a knuckle Blake uping field hits it in play and the runners are going to stay there at first and second I mean yes he hit it but we just saw Josh go for a little knuckle grip and it stayed in the zone it’s a really unfortunate piece of he will tag third a good routine play over there Fields it tax third one out in the inning but now you got the crusher’s best hitter in the line swinging a miss and he will walk him base is now loaded for The Crushers in the air popped left field bow fouls it back here comes the pitch from Josh Bradley got it great pitch there from Josh to sit down Blake and now two outs in the inning good pitch from Josh I mean he is looking like a very very solid option for the rip ties when Reese isn’t pitching ground ball Bou two strike delivery got it Josh Bradley comes in and allows a zero I I don’t I don’t know if anyone knew that he would do that against this Crusher lineup zero runs and now going into the bottom of the second D I feel like my hair is just I was planning on running the bucket hat was walking out the door and I was like forgetting something his first plate appearance Harper borgy stepping in the little brother of Hudson Borg me I have no idea if he has any experience with anything related play whatsoever and on the other side of things Kaden Stine the captain subbing in as the relief on the mount and they strike two to Harper good pitch there from Kaden sits down Harper I don’t think he was knuckle air knuckles go team Crushers look like two seam Merchants right now good location there from Kaden though outside pipe he’s got that high arm like the high release too I like it and Hudson will take his base run around first this would be cool Jaden who is this yes he did did go [Music] around got him right down the middle and re looks at it I mean that’s that’s what we’ve been used to with the reason two outs for Josh Bradley and looks to strike one oh fouls back Josh was right on that one strike three what a Riser there the amount of Back Spin on that one got Josh Chase is that three dude Kaden looks inning number three and the rip ties are riding with the hot hand in Josh Bradley I mean we expected Hudson to throw both Innings and uh they’re keeping Josh and he did good I mean I guess because Hudson gave up those three runs I guess they’re just I mean they like the shut out inning they saw from Josh big hack of that one get mean get mean get our 75 mph roll with the w well when he gets H yeah strike one middle when he throws a strike it seems to be on a pipe which is really helping out the rip ties oh there’s another strike from him two on Blake sapping field step out strike Lac down third Baseline ree is able to make the play at third but a run will come in for The Crushers 41 now the score a good ball in play there by Blake I mean ree did what he could he he fielded the ball he attack third triy to hit the Zone from where he was um another run for The Crushers just think about striking out and then don’t that’s the mentality I mean for a situation where Reese is not pitching y’all are doing good Josh looks dope screw ball hits the zone two strikes on Cooper two strikes oh what a pitch everybody stay in your seat wait was that a ball yeah oh it was a ball it was a ball it was a ball it looked really good I was about to jump out of my seat got him that is Strike number three on Cooper Carly a great outing by Josh Bradley here in this game through two innings allowed one he’s dialed I got to keep like a baseball swing I change everything you take you take a picture of that swing send that to my dad I can’t leave the house for a week Bradley you guys got to tip your cap he kept his team in this game the rip ties are going to have a chance to do it they’re down 4-1 they got to make up some room and they’re going to have to do it off of what I believe will be Cooper Carly coming back in here in this third inning there three more batters I mean I’m about to I might throw 93 on this one okay so strikes that’s know two seem oh my win that one’s got to hurt the eyeballs he Cooper looks down at the ground for his balls and they across the F in the air popped foul two seam got the Zone screw ball dips down got him strike number three in Cooper doing one of these in his first game he’s already talking smack you got to love it I mean I I think he enjoys the fact that he threw a moving pitch that hit the strike zone and he got I have died every day waiting for you inside oh and that’s lace oh my goodness 110 milph off the bat of Rees clap and that will be boy gets this inning started for the rip ties they got a runner on that’s not my check that’s just single Full Count from Cooper Carly just slow and two Runners are on for Hudson bgm and I’m going to say say this every time and I feel like every once in a while ends up popping up a home run would now tie this ball game I feel like when I say it sometimes it makes happen I’d love to see it missing the same spot every time seen it a lot pitch to him oh he he wanted it he wanted it he wanted it right two right at 80 M an hour two strikes delivery from Cooper oh he came with the off speed this the first time we’ve seen it all game was he saving was he baiting the rip tipes are thinking every single pitch is that fast ball wow what a pitch I mean if you’re hon what a pitch if you’re Hudson you’re not you’re not looking for that that’s a huge move by Cooper to finally go to the offit that’s the first time all day he’s thrown it and he saves it for the best moment possible and the rip ties down to their last chance and look who it is it’s Rees freaking clap can’t help but laugh stepping in last at bat hit a ball 110 mph if he elevates that here we go two outs two Runners on screw ball first pitch lanes and first strike oh and off speed inside pipe now two strikes one and two the count The Crushers one strike away the delivery got him Reese goes around and Crushers Are Victorious on opening day and take a 4-1 Victory against the defending Champions they looked phenomenal today at the plate and on the mound both Kaden and Cooper able to Pepper that Strike Zone very impressive debut from The Crushers I saw you come from here so I was like oh it’s going to come back and then just went yeah that’s what I’m saying it’s like it didn’t move it kind of like knuckled Hudson Borg Marice clapping the rip TI still a lot of positive things uh to see Josh Bradley my goodness came out of nowhere he’s back Crushers now at the top of the standings after opening day at 1 and0 and the rip ties 0 and one we will see you guys in the next match up Red Birds versus Team I haven’t I don’t do I don’t win much so guys good job guys
