we are live in talksport I’m being slightly distracted because there’s a whole variety of different uh bits of news coming into to us uh not least on the rematch between Tyson Fury and Alexander usk now um we have spoken to Alex kashio we’ll bring some of that to air shortly but Simon the man at the top of Saudi boxing his Excellency turkey alake has uh tweeted in the last minutes or so the rematch between Undisputed Champion Alexander usyk and Champion Tyson Fury now scheduled for the 21st of December 2024 during Riad season the world will watch another historical fight our commitment to boxing fans continues we hope you enjoy it so that is the news coming out of Saudi Arabia it was originally for October wasn’t it that was the original date so they moved it back two months okay right is what it is um I know producer LC is talking to Frank waren at the moment who of course uh is is is locked into the event the upcoming event between five of Frank’s Fighters and five of Eddie hearn’s Fighters um and I think Frank is trying to tell Luke whether or not that is right on the money as it stands but if anybody knows it’s his Excellency turkey Al Shake should know you would think so yeah I mean I the fact that they’ve triggered the rematch clause which was obviously the losers right to do um I think is great because I want to see Fury back up the claims that he’s that he’s a generational great by overcoming the adversities that generational greats have to do Lennox Lewis did it Mike Tyson did it Muhammad Ali did it so there’s no reason why Tyson Fury can’t step back into the ring uh and try to reclaim the ground that he’s lost he’ll never get the Undisputed position again because the belts will have been scattered by that time but not withstanding that he will still beat the man that beat the man right which was him in this instance yes so I think that’s great um and what’s happening you irrespective whether I agree or disagree with certain aspects of what’s happening in um in Saudi they are making some very significant inroads into changing the direction of boxing there’s a lot of good things going on there lot some real interesting stuff this idea that he’s got about the 5v5 for Queensbury versus uh matchroom and then this idea that he wants to have us Fighters fight against British fighters in in this is very clever stuff Jim this is building allegiances and relationships in different form it doesn’t actually seem that complicated clever this is a news that’s coming out of Saudi Arabia this morning certainly on the rematch between usyk and fury now scheduled for the 2 first of December um producer Luke has worked a miracle because we’ve got into Alexander usk’s camp and Alex cuk usix promoter joins us live uh Alex good morning to you once again you and I seem to speak on a daily basis my friend um the the news coming out of uh Saudi Arabia is that this one is on the rematch is on and it’s on for the 21st of December from your point of of view from the usk camp point of view can you confirm that yeah this is the date we were looking at and this is the date that we confirmed with his Excellency tur shake and uh we we all gave our consent on it so it’s going to happen on December 21st there we go so it happens on December the 21st uh which of course is a Saturday it is scheduled let me tell you it is scheduled to have happen on uh December 21st but uh dealing with uh with our opponent you never know how it works but we are focused on this date can I just ask you Alex I mean original date from what we understood was October just out of curiosity why has it changed from the October situation to December well that was a working date right that was a working date which uh uh we like regarded as the possible one of the possible days to put the event uh but in our initial agreement we had the time limit for till the end of the year so it corresponds our initial agreement you made an observation that you’ve made before about potentially the unreliability or potential changes of minds of Fury and you can’t legislate for that there were lots of questions about Alexander and whether he would uh continue it was a challenging fight and there were talks of retirement clearly that’s not in your agenda now is it uh we never had any talks about usk’s retirement so there was maybe rumors maybe someone else was giving his thoughts but we never discussed this and this issue is not actual for us more than just a rumor Alex it it is suggested that Alexander ended up with a a broken orbital a broken uh bone in his eye um after the fight is that true no this is not true as I uh spoke on uh final no not was the after fight uh press conference I gave some explanation that he had a old injury uh his implant tooth on the upper jaw uh and it was injured and uh it went injured again uh so he took all the medical prescriptions and now he’s recovering from from that from that stuff so as far as your concern I mean were you caught on the Hop a little bit are you surprised that this announcement came out from the Middle East in terms of turkey Al Shake making announcement did that catch you by surprise uh well the thing I like about uh dealing with turkey shake with his Excellency is that uh we never delay whatever we decide uh we go straight to media and directly to the actions and that’s uh the best thing that boxing can have nowadays yeah yeah absolutely confirmation that something is happening we’re not trying to retire your fighter Alex but let’s say Alexander beats Fury again that would be him having beaten Joshua twice and fury twice would then be the time for him to hang up his gloves because he would nothing have nothing else it would seem to aeve this is always a solution a decision of the fighter so when he feels that uh he has nothing to prove when he feels that he doesn’t want to go to wake up at 5:00 in the morning to go to undergo three trainings per day if he is fed up with that then it’s probably time uh to hang him on his gloves but uh unless he’s capable of doing things unless he’s capable of making new achievements why it should be time to stop if he still has power if he still has this motivation incentive to go I see no reason to stop yeah what what do we can tell I mean Alex I’m going to say it anyway you and I speak regularly uh I think the listeners should know that we were in conversation yesterday afternoon weren’t we would you like to tell our huge talk SPO audience what you told me yesterday about the scale of the reaction to Alexander’s win over Fury in Ukraine in Ukraine yeah it’s still going it hasn’t finished yet because this is an absolute uh how you achievement for an athlete coming from Ukraine who has already become the national hero who has become the man the uh Banner of the country and uh he has so many followers not like on social medias but people who follow him who follow his life story a guy who coming from Crimea who was born in a normal family uh poor family from just uh poor neighborhood and the man who trained hard who worked hard who uh put all his effort who who who put his life uh on the line and he was so concentrated uh with achieving his on achieving his goal that he became the uh European amateur World amateur Olympic champion then he became the world champion in professionals uh became the uh unified and then Undisputed cruiserweight then unified in heavyweight and now has become the uh Undisputed heavyweight champion and this this man is the real incentive for the whole nation and uh his victory is uh something that gives our soldiers on the front line people who suffer from the war give the new spirit to live this is very important victory for for all of for all of us and that carries a lot of pressure with it doesn’t it um finally Alex thanks thanks for confirming this about the 21st of December for the rematch have you any reason to believe that the outcome this time will be any different to what we saw some days ago in Rian uh The Fighter is getting ready for the fight the fight itself is only 45 minutes and whoever is better prepared for for that small period passage of time is the winner it’s we still have seven months to go so anything may happen uh but uh from the point of view of a boxing man I would say there shouldn’t be anything else than we saw last time in Riad can I ask you two questions Alex before you go you made an observation the barbed observation about Fury do you expect him I mean he’s said to everybody via Frank Warren that he is um enacting the rematch clause the reasons why there is a rematch is because he’s the one calling for it because he’s the loser do you have genuine besides making a point with the opposition concerns that he might not want this fight uh unfortunately I didn’t have an opportunity to speak to Tyson directly and we heard the announcements made by Frank Warren only uh that’s why it’s complicated for me to answer your question uh I can only assume that uh having lost his first fight in the career a fighter might normally want to get the chance for the rematch but uh considering Tyson Fury is not the the biggest rematcher in in the world of boxing you know what I’m talking about uh well he is cuz he thought Wilder three times yes uh but he thought third time he was forced to to fight him by the arbitration in the US he didn’t enough he didn’t take he didn’t take the rematch after he defeated Klitschko uh and it’s not like it’s not his big Habit to take the rematches but this these these are things that have nothing uh to to what we at this moment uh can you see Alex last question for you last question for you in the event that Fury were to take this fight which I think he will and in the event that he were to win this fight which you don’t think he would can you see a Trilogy why not boxing has this uh boxing has this uh in the had this in the past of and if people want to see this fight for the third time for the fourth time it may happen uh boxing is all about fans desire and tur Shake is the man who who makes boxing fans dreams come true Alex graio as always we’re indebted to you thanks for speaking to us first confirming that December the 21st thanks Alex December the 21st is the date four days before Christmas day that’s the DAT that Fury and usk will do it again Jim White and Simon Jordan Monday to Friday mornings from 10: on am on da via the talk sport app and on your smart speaker talk sport

  1. First of all now it is USYK vs FURY (not Fury vs Usyk).
Second thing – huge possibility that Fury would retire at the beginning of December

  2. Fury fan club will be right up this. Furys a mug, needs to sort his corner out, but will get punished in the rematch regardless of what he does. Furys a generational great?. Give me a break Simon. ffs

  3. Wouldn't surprise me if Beterbiev vs Bivol was on the same card as well….what a night that would be.

  4. Krassyuk is the perfect side kick for Usyk, Fury usually wins the battle of minds but that wasn't the case against Usyk and Krassyuk. I would argue that Krassyuk won the battle of the mind games with Fury, this allowed his Usyk to prepare for what he does best.

  5. Forget about the generational great talk with fury , he got a hammering of a "middleweight" and got hit more times than Joshua did AJ smokes fury in 5 rounds , can't even believe this is till up for debate him as generational great please stop

  6. It’s cleaver to put rival promoters against each other 🤔 and it’s also cleaver to have the USA against the U.K. 🧐 are these numpties for real ,, doesn’t the Olympic Games do exactly that ? The best should have to fight the best regardless ,, but they are able to avoid each other and still earn millions.

  7. These people don't know the sport. Neither did Spencer Oliver, neither does the fat bono impersonator with his stupid glasses. You're annoying people now.

  8. I don't actually trust Krassyuk etc. They just play their role well and use Fury's unpopularity against him .

  9. Like all sport, boxing has declined. No harm to Usyk but he is a decent boxer but not a great. A young Mike Tyson would have ate him alive and lewis would have toyed with him before putting him out cold. The media tries its hardest to drum up interest. But let's be honest, Joshua is mentally weak and Fury's body has started to give up on him after years of abuse.

  10. Fury is getting knocked spark out in the rematch IF! it happens 💥🥊 Usyk knew how to box and beat him in the first fight and will be better in the second fight.

  11. Yes cant wait this fight will be classic if fury follows up when he hurts usyk he could well do it and if he doesnt lose focus its going to be classic 💪💪

  12. Fury is not the fighter rabbit is lol. He will destroy him in the second fight as well.he hasnt his speed. The ref saved him in the last fight, cant wait for the next one
