today I am heading to the King Robert the Bruce Golf Course located at turnbury on the west coast of Scotland this par 36 front nine holes is a true test of golf measuring over 3,500 yards I’m trying to play my best golf and play like a scratch golfer last time at Quint delago it didn’t go to plan I know the areas that I need to improve but will I be able to do it over this Stern test of golf the conditions are tough and it’s going to be a real great but I also have a couple of friends with me who if I can’t do it hopefully we can break part as a team so let’s head down to the first T and see how we get on on this spectacular golf course that’s all right it’s be there good Alex gone all of 190 that was I just CAU the grooves of the golf club face then oh dear that’s a Reload is that left yeah contact that is in a yellow yellow bush oh right this game’s called I win that’s a reaload Carter oh is it yeah restart yeah yeah you got breakfast ball no no Christ boys yeah the neck never gets you in trouble that’s a good shot to shy of the Trap shot decent seven down the first [Music] safe just in the rof but it’ll do it’ll do right not the stter wanted I was hoping for a little breakfast ball off the host but obviously not 258 middle of the green straight into wind it’s playing about 350 yards stay there yeah good one more of those and we’ll be on the Green rip that just nerdling my way down this hole comfortably it’s like a little 138 into a 70 mph wind this honestly this is the hardest golf course on the planet and to have this wind is a disaster yesterday play the AL a flat calm beautiful day needs to turn over shot Greening rag I’ll just School these boys just give them a lesson in how to manage your golf ball it’s going to be it’s going to be exhibition for them can’t even got my club in the bag oh T four down five I need this for bogy need this for bogy In fairness I’ve actually hit every single shot really well just a shame the first one was 45° left just a shame the first one was a hook got to be positive get in oh little bit uh good eight right in line short it’s a sensible P though you take that on a windy day first all the Robert the Bruce somehow I was going to make five as well just a regulation two different ways for making five there right on to the [Music] next right 157 wind off the left slightly into just a little seven iron I think try and hit a little drawer into it leave it wind oh just run off that is a blustery blustery condition yeah I played this about four or five years ago it’s like a four the wind is ridiculous it wind under the leave it leave it done well not get hit that a snap up good shot thin it to win it that’s a good shot my God that look so good so long Ah that’s a three for me pretty much so yeah you can have a good solid go Alex you had I had about 20 of those right Carter right we’ve got the three secured be bold get it there get it there get that flag out then bit more left or right than I thought I think I chose the wrong teammates for this challenge here’s me worldy up and down you two let [Music] [Music] Downs so the third hole is 332 me and Carter just going to try and get them in play and then Al can have a go at the green cuz he’s long but it is treacherous this one good strike mon I think I don’t think it’s got there I hit it that bad bit draw get down get down it’s not too far left yeah that’s okay it’s clear it it’s fine hold your line hold your line hold your line I think you’ll be back left corner just off but on the green yeah we’ve got chances we’ve got chances folks I lost it chances right here we go good a look 132 is what we have so that’ll just be a nice wedge wind’s pumping off the right so go a little right of the flag drop it on tap it in won’t need these lot again [Music] travel travel yeah I didn’t think I’d given that enough and I’ve just caught the back of the bunker and shot off it’s on the green but should have done better with a wedge in hand but on Woods there we go oh another one awkward one 90 yards side wind kind of because of the angle you kind of hitting into it to start a little 50° I fed it brilliant best of a bad bunch about 60 ft for me we’ll take that that was nice I’ve secured the four Alex leave it short yeah please do not leave it short just good hit and you’re in were you trying to hold that then I’ll tell you what always choose your friends very wisely we remain level par setting the world on [Music] [Music] fire they look a lot narrower than they actually are these far away because of the G but 250 the bunker on the left is a dog leg right to left this one and it opens up down the right quite a bit and it opens up down the left but it looks about 10 yards wide as you stood on the te so 39 three cuty driver down the left great ball my B yeah it’s in my pocket Center stripe should we carry on now or make the same exactly don’t need you that’s slicing peeler that is very long way from there yeah proba the same distance got now sh just a bit right of mine y I’ve got the Lo going now good shot yeah good shot we found the Fairway Al was just over in the roof to the right we both got 119 to the flag but the wind severely into so I’m just going to knock down an Aon and keep it low ideally just pulled it a bit but should be okay see that might be a little bit short didn’t quite get it all right straight into the teeth going punching now hang on hookie nine I think we’re dancing just oh what a bad shot that was I’m going to blame the I’d like to blame the line but it wasn’t even to lie ripped it but a spin come on oh good effort sir po didn’t get going off The Fringe that it’s about halfway wow is this some kind of sabotage Mission you two are on my gosh this is have we have we met a worse putter than Andy Carter yeah 100% it’s there’s a St [Music] strong I don’t know actually you do you do like you do realize you’re going to get the ball in the hole I’m actually a really bad rushed putter I can’t rush I need to take my time to aim Point were you rushing yeah well well done Matthew I’m going to te off on my own on the next and uh just just get around a bit [Music] [Music] quicker fifth hle is 461 a power four straight at it bunkers down the right and left 240 you’re over all of them looks again narrow but it is wide lovely just straight in front of the Tracer sorry folks Andy Carters he’s here in body but not in mind today do you want to go and wait at the clubhouse literally feel nor I can’t feel them everyone put a big ah in the comments for Andy a poor Andy such a hard life you lead Alex why are you trying to hit a driver off the deck are you you too hair to annoy me if you going to hit if you hit dri you got to drop it you can’t place it golf Bay you won’t be upset when you see this fry brilliant there you go advancing we will be able to edit this into a one person Vlog sorry FR we’ve still got 274 he’s not happy is he should we start playing now carts yeah I think we’ll uh we’ll stop faking it going to have to go for the Big Tool 274 back three wood struck but down the left yeah F got 190 left in that is a seriously strong hole today in the wind into wind into wind going to go four iron up the right and let it just Chase in hopefully keep it low little draw number should be a okay yeah I mean it was a little bit heavy but it’ll be just over the back of the green so we should be okay A little chip in a put make my power again here is Al in his wild habitat trying to flop it and not annoy fry even more should like B in yes we need some up and down magic here that’s so good that is a great shot wow well done you could have just saved the bacon that was worth the angle right then chip in or inside it oh have a worst B have got us don’t we thank you that’s like an album cover thanks for coming guys thanks for [Music] [Music] coming 170 yards this PA three lovely Hole Green has a lot of falloffs around it there’s two bunkers right one’s short one’s pin High there’s also bunker left that you can’t really see off the te that’s pin high as well so this requires a a pretty accurate accurate uh iron here cross wind as well it’s kind of wind’s hurt wind’s hurting a bit is it yeah into off the right I would say hold it up on that right do yeah that’s the shot think for Carter it’s more just make contact yeah literally anywhere in this region yeah is all I’m looking for right come on come on last time he’s coming on a bit low again know when you play foresome sometimes and it’s like don’t say sorry like we all hit bad shots but realistically you just want to get rid of your partner ah strong wind up there we we both missed it left literally side by side there that’s the best place to miss it you chipping into wind all right get in it’s very strong wind fryer need to wave it right at the right bunkers we’re we’re a bit sheltered here well out that’s just hold fly nice get in the hole then here he is chunked it to 5et controlled striking Alex you’d understand if you’re a player right I guess I’ll uh I’ll get get this all again then yeah today I’m going to be taking on the Robert the Bruce I’m going to have two people following me around not even for moral support just annoying me right Alex we better chip in here yeah four that moved in the air that’ll be the wind Andrew tends to move started left the flag it’s a nice pitch it’s sad that I hit it closer from 170 yards than they did with a chip well done good too thanks guys appreciate the support one under good too on to the next we [Music] [Music] go right this is a uh this is a bit of a brute this one 383 yards so it doesn’t sound that long but you’re going up into the corner it’s a dog leg right to left the wind’s into off the left there’s a bunker out there at 265 on the right hand side we just don’t want to go there but if you want to try and take the corner on you’re staring at GS and pine trees so take it on Commit and just fade it over this trap in front of us sh Beauty called it played it you boys turn off right I might try and I’m going to try and draw this into the wind I don’t feel like I’ve got the fade under control q a pull hook it could be wow good shot straight oh I’ve hit a shot and I’m going to go find the next one that was it that’s my shot for the day I found it that’s a great ball that is exactly what we said we just needed the team to be in the red so we could turn up and start playing you see it’s worth it now it’s worth it wow go wow wow 30 short H 115 off the up slope into wind that’s playing the best part of 140 there so I can go full out on this nine strike go go go go go go go a yeah it went out and it just sort of you could just see it hit the wall of wind get in great shot thanks M we might be Ved here for the first time we might be the only issue is Alex ising yeah we’ll take five right up the hill actually pitched pretty much on the crest to the hill there and have come back but pretty straightforward put it’s just about the pace up the hill and into the wind look good for so long yes yes brother like one of the members of the golf wants to get on the card first and say carried everyone you always aimed so far left what do you mean you set it up out the toe here you’re aiming the balls finished right there you go in there thanks no pleasing no pleasing some people I [Music] [Music] know right we get on to the eight hole which is probably the best viewing point out here on King Robert the Bruce couple new holes if you’ve ever played here years and years ago eight was actually back down that way firing into a green that was over here that’s now the new ninth green we’re playing a par five this way and then they created the 10th hole which is a par three here and then you go back on to 11 over there but very much a new sort of corner of the golf course here and wait till you see the ninth when you play that one it’s very very dramatic but this one for us is a par five heading out towards the lighthouse there that you can see just in the distance 485 yards bunker in the Fairway on the left that’s no real mether maybe for Carter um but you can just go right here there’s a lot of room [Music] right is it that’s too far right but I mean it’s absolutely safe hold your line yes yeah bouncing over the Trap probably just probably being the left roof that that usual location right oh come on Andrew we’ve carried you this far come I’ll take you from here folks cometh the hour oh come on he’s woken up that is chasing as well oh my gosh that’s still bouncing I’ve always been here just an enigma of my normal self you just didn’t know great shot well done thank you fried dog’s just gone sit shouts of sit no oh it’s bunker stop playing baseball this is right oh dear oh dear might make five wedge into a par five great they just love golf these shots are so hard 142 yards down wind off the right the wind like can hit it out of the air you don’t really know what it’s going to do what it’s going to do oh no oh [Music] no good drive on it I wasn’t far away from being decent there I thought mine was going to swing a bit just pitched and bounced in but Splash it out one of us needs make birdie considering it’s par five and we’ all hit wedges in um Splash this out though pretty simple shot and that it just trundle on up to the flag that’s so good in shot just run on a little bit more than we wanted but good pot and we’re all gravy how would you play this frer would you L it up uh with that wind potentially not I’d be bumping it into Uncle fry has spoken I was going for the big fill up in there but bump and run it is oh yeah I wouldn’t have played it that hard oh yeah oh yeah tips thanks R look at the view there look at that view Carter in the middle of it spoiling it not bad needed a couple more feet and it was very very good oh and turn for me didn’t turn to five right not good work considering we had a flip into the green can this man deliver the Bon break break break oh yeah well done we really really put that one to its knees solid a short game Masterpiece right we remain one under par we’ve got the ninth hole to go which is probably I think the best hole on this golf course now so we will finish in style with a a dramatic birdie our final hole then just looking out over the Irish sea you see the 11th hole of the Elsa just down here great path three that one but this one we go down and then you actually hit across the Ravine now um great great remodel of this all quite a generous Fairway there is a bunker up on the right that’s about 24 see wind’s hard off the left as well so got to make sure we don’t go in that just get past it and uh wedge across sh very nice hey W that it’s in the mayor’s office get cut in get cut in get cut in get cut cut in get cut in yeah that right yeah you’ve got like a shorter shot in but it’s in a little bit of ruy got I RI that as well oh honestly my back is like s g get past it get past it that was it over it yeah good that is a good looking green over the Ravine 166 wind coming in off the ocean it’d be hard work if the wind was off the right here you’d be very scared of turning it [Music] over 166 into what do you think there playing like one probably playing 200 this in it 177 back into the tvf Carter’s got a bit more of a direct route from where he is he’s not over much land though is it no got to get the strike right with Carters or else he will be taking a walk down to the uh little kits in the hill finding a few Pirates he’s got it oh left though oh no the green well done good shot Center jacking five iron be the right Club be the right Club this is literally I didn’t need players to help me out here didn’t need them you got I don’t know I’ve got six yeah trappy hook tra [Music] oh nice more inside trap not good mate not [Music] good well played sh f I thought was quite a hard go in this I thought that was going to move a bit lesser right I’m honest did you yeah did the uh the ground all falling way to the Sea not give you an indication that it might be right looked higher to me oh step up yeah well done thanks for your contribution five’s in PR you can relax [Laughter] bolted it through the break Matthew do you want to where to get on the card yeah let you get on the card normally you’re trying to rush yourself in to get on the card there you are look at him it’s cuz they’re all there always remember like that so I’ll I’ll um just save the embarrassment for you you could left well guys I hope you enjoyed that we did break par I did break par big thanks to the holes I’m managed to complete all four categories and was a dramatic change from the first round of me trying to play my best golf again I think key factors were me hitting the Fairway more often allow me to have easier shots into the green the chipping was a huge Improvement seeing me actually get up and down every single time whether it was just shot selection or just hitting better shots that was one thing that I think kept the score together one area I would like to see improve even though I did complete it would be the greens in regulation I feel like I left a few shots out there by just making some sloppy errors but We Roll on it’s one of two ticked off in playing like a scratch golfer let’s see if we can make this consistently happen in the next one
