Hogan’s SLING release is ridiculously powerful and accurate – 99% of golfers have never seen this!

If only 99% of golfers were taught to release it like this. It’s a whole new ball game.

we’re going to start from where we’ve slung it into impact what does that look like well it’s my trail arm entirely tucked in as much as possible and then what do we do instead of us trying to go out and sling under instead of us getting loopy we’re going to clean up a lot of variables just keep it in like this take it back and you’re going to then sling to the Target and when I release this hand i’m extending my hand fully just to give you the idea of this chain reaction of power boom I push the arm out towards the target as I’m slinging the pebble across the lake and I’m pushing the hand fully straight and you can feel the force of that hand like some bruly karate doing this with a club it’s really helpful to get the feeling of sling sling here slinging it

  1. The big Sagoo had a look of doubt in that one handed swing drill after it happened 😂

Great swing tip though! I've been working on this same feel for a few weeks to kill my habit of scooping the ball.

  2. My take on the cause and effect is that the feeling of “hitting the wall” as the club drops to shaft parallel which occurs when back foot stays grounded acts like hitting the brakes in a car with the club head reacting like an unbelted passenger whipping down and forward.

This can be really felt swinging the club with just the trail arm and not lifting the back foot. The trail arm externally rotates and literally gets stuck over the trail hip forcing hips to shift laterally to target and tilt back.

When the club is swung down with just the lead arm connected to chest at the armpit the lag releases at about the same point in reaction to hip turn arresting and the force generated whipping down around the hands pulls the lead arm away from the body.

When the two hands are put together what is actually happening is that the swing force is TRYING to rip the arm off the chest and releasing the back foot to get hips reaccelerating and letting the force pull the trail arm straight is need to keep up with the lead arm momentum and maintain directional control. When everything moves in sync it is effortless because the club head force does all the work. If you try to apply too much throwing action with the trail arm it can actually slow things down.

It’s like a multi-stage rocket accelerating of the ground. 1) hip turn and gravity drop club to horizontal but grounded back foot arrests hips and creates lateral “hitting wall” action, 2) that triggers ‘stage 2’ which is club head accelerating around hands—how most of the clbu head speed is generated, 3) back foot lifts releasing hips to open to 45° and trail arm straightens, 4) side bend allows club force to pull both arms straight which transfers a lot of the residual clubhead force through body to ground, 5) trail arm socket then becomes axis of rotation and force pulls and keeps trail arm straight and grip forces lead arm to fold elbow down, 6) force cocks wrist and causes club to swing up and back.

  3. Hogan said he wished he had 3 right hands. Like the Bruce Lee analogy. That release is like his one inch punch for golf 💪⛳️

  4. Love the idea of the “sling”. Would it be fair to say the right shoulder needs to continue, staying connected through the finish of the swing.

  5. Coach, I am fascinated by your swing every time; I try to follow your advice but nothing, especially with long clubs.

  6. Why don't you ever hit a driver? All great players fully released the club. Korda, Couples, Woods, McElroy, etc.
