yeah Sam off to a quick start this year but has really struggled in the last seven events so looking for a good event this week Adam that’s because his approach to the green shots are so incredibly good especially from 125 to 150 he ranks sixth you mean like that that was even closer than that but yes yes Sam Burns trying to match that and he does not as big of a deal that ball rolled all the way back down to there that’s the third shot for Sam Burns at the 11th in this in this tournament I mean I can’t speak for what they’re thinking about but as a player you’re really trying to stay where you are you’re trying to focus on this championship this tournament if you on a string jeez so far for Tom Kim here’s Sam Burns less than driver look at that look how high see that guy walking up the top of your screen it’s a lot of elevation changes at this golf course and of course you and Porter isn’t allowed to use his cart driver he’s got to walk all of it this would get him into a share of the lead at 200 under you can see how far left he’s playing this what a great putt that was confidently hit by Sam Burns only two par fives on the scorecard got to take advantage here’s one of them Sam Burns full treatment right behind that ball I think so and that is straight up in the air for a fairway wood stop his ball trying to roll back but settled down should leave an easy third heading on over to the 17th we got Sam Burns this is where his second shot ended up this up the hill and now a little down you you see it and down the cup and a little bit of a fist bump there as well for Sam Burns that is double his underpart Tally from two to four with the eagle should it be an issue if anything it might just make him feel better that his Ball’s not going to come backing up well any more than that beautiful at the second Sam Burns how about the Apex on that way up in the air 178 mph ball speed middle of the Fairway ideal position here for burns beautiful again that to get to minus5 huge drive now Sam Burns to get into a tie for the lead yeah this after that beautiful iron shot in well done just going about his business from the bogey our Tracer technology provided by trackman well that was beautifully done took it right down that left side into the narrowest part of the Fairway got to be looking at that number four Tower 10 15 ft left of it ideally good strike aggressive line from 218 oh yes 218 gets it to stop that quickly making those two circles on the card is he does wow look at that that’s nice yeah in this driving area this whole Fairway slopes left to right Sam burns with a big rip H well done Burns trying to flight this one down that’s there oh good caddy work there he Travis talked him into a different Club this guy is on a heater and being on a little down slope here I think that’ll help him flight it down a little bit into the wind it’s flying past the [Music] flag now here’s Sam Burns for bird at the ninth which would give him the outright lead all right great round of golf Rock Solid for Sam Burns an opening 63 s underpar and a share the lead right now Sam Burns what a way to start his RBC Canadian open what were you seeing from the course today that led to such a strong start yeah I think I think uh you know was getting off getting off to a nice start there b in the the 10th hole um I think for us you know going into the day we knew that there was going to be some tough pin locations and really just trying to kind of accept what the golf course was giving us um just trying to get the ball in position as much as we possibly could and was able to drive it pretty well and um got to give a shout out to my caddy Travis’s birthday today um so he did a really good job out there and it was a lot of fun sorry what’s Travis’s last name Perkins thanks and uh obviously you also had two Eagles Shan O’Hare had an eagle what about the conditions today is lending itself to shooting so low just on S the hole Yeah I think um you know with all the rain we had early in the week the greens are still pretty receptive um and so that makes a big difference on par FS when you have you know a long iron or a wood coming in there to be able to you know stop the ball pretty quick makes a huge difference um so I think that was really the difference in my round today you know making two Eagles um you know kind of kick started me and uh as overall solid round and what’s the reception been like for you from the Canadian fans so far oh I love it I love coming up here especially being a member of Team RBC it’s uh I look forward to this event every year uh the fans are incredible uh the community always supports this event so well and uh I love I really do love coming up here thanks and congrat what was it like um you know it’s just been a whirlwind being a dad for the first time how does I guess life feel different as a dead yeah it’s been incredible um you know I’d be lying if I didn’t say it was tough coming up here having to leave them but uh they’re coming out the next three weeks so that’ll be really fun um yeah it’s it’s the best um I definitely don’t want to to be at the golf course as much as I used to be um I like spending time at home more with my wife and and child now um but it’s it’s been really fun uh my wife’s incredible uh incredible mother um so that’s been really cool to see have you like compared any fatherhood notes with Scotty at all uh a little bit um he’s had kind of a lot going on recently too so uh we’re staying together in the house next week so we’ll get to catch up
