the Masters on International player to win the green jacket and some neat symmetry here and that player has been a story this week as well competing in his record 51st Masters also in that final pairing you saw him 27-year-old brand snaker from Nashville Tennessee sneds as he is called by his friends and family played the first two days with his Boyhood hero Tom Watson how will these two talented Young Guns handled this Saturday Moving Day pressure with the likes of Nicholson and wood and others giving Chase Nick falto three-time winner of the Green Jacket is alongside you’re in Butler cabin you were presented those coats wonderful to be back down here again it’s good to see you down here Gary Player and Trevor kind of copies his little mannerisms very much with C cica with Tom Watson how you know he has a little chake of the hips and what have you Phil Mickelson his father started him but he idolized Arnold Palmer and I’m going to claim Fame to important he obviously coped me for my brightly colored cashmere sweaters way back in the 80s and uh you know he actually came and watched me way back in I think about uh 93 the British Open there and then the 93 Rider cup camped out with his with his mates and so I’m taking part claim for a little bit of inspiration there maybe he’ll have a big weekend as well and have a green jacket in his wardrobe like you do now what about the weather we had that system move through here that was puddling on the pudding nice lull before the storm the softening greens you know the and the the pin positions are very nice today I think they given them great opportunities for them to get in their close and they could make G on the second shot this may well what 101 yard think he likes it wanted so power to get whole high and two not taking advantage of that thing uh everything I do as a professional golf kind of around what he did just growing up I always love watching The Swinging golf club and the way he played was just kind of a way I kind of try to model myself after in the first two days where dream come true for me to be able to play let alone a tournament with him but let alone the Masters you know was was a great experience and just you know every little piece of uh you know advice he gave me on life was great you know just just trying to help me along and and kind of avoid the pitfalls that most Young tour Pros fall into and and you know just having somebody like that on your side as a sing board was great for two days and to hear him rooting me on and cheering me on was great well that’s tremendous stica has a lot of energy a lot of enthusiasm for the game and to have some guidance from Tom Watson that is wonderful final pering to Rookie of the Year travelman 2006 and links champ yeah both of them rookies of the Year both of them public links Champions they’ve played here their first experience of Augusta National in a competitive Arena was as public links winners now SN the long put for a birdie long considering a good t-shot and whole high and two right to left bu shot good birdie and strides over to the short par for third which is a birdy opportunity if you have some Precision with a short iron approach we’ll go to number three thanks Peter a little earlier this was Ian pter P that birdie so went on and made that one for a par par start back over for two a beautiful Pit shot I will be very determined to take advantage and make a birdie having over the last few years there are some very tough long path fors who really need to to take advantage of the bird opportunities not what is going on here well it looks like Phil Nicholson’s going to go to the lob shot here he’s hit it so far would have been better to take the Putter and take a chances running it through the Fringe well sometimes you can’t be in a very scary shot to play any time the fact you’re at on the third green at the Masters and you see caught that a good uh wow 2 in before the ball it’s not not a shot that you get a chance to practice that often well they certainly wouldn’t enjoy you practicing it would they not out here no of course here presented immaculately as always abely just leaving it short of that leave a W for the second he’s a great example of pace of play that’s for sure Fran Saka up so high just a little pitch and yes he hold it that was a two if that doesn’t get the blood pumping nothing will he would have been happy with three drive it way up past those bunkers leave themselves with a sand wedge really no great Advantage good aggressive swing there down as good as you can ask up the hill soft greens you can be firm and finally Jim with 26 gos to play without a br well that counts as a two P what a p that was for Phil Nicholson here in 04 and 06 Justin Rose treacherous bunker shot and again maybe not so first down Co leader came to GRE Tiger’s line always gone high as well but it’s a little softer so he seed it in there he’s a good player picked the line as well as Phil Nicholson did just a little short Steve fles very confident with his form said when he’s hitting the ball well he feels like he can win any tournament striking the ball beautifully driving the ball further than he normally does he said he’s really pumped up ready to play a very good start Steve flesh one under through three some good scoring today Green’s a little softer after all that rain and now back to bran snea second shot here at three yeah and there may be one significant thing happening now Tiger Woods’s name is now on the bottom of the leaderboards and I wonder what that was do to the players yeah he’s always there isn’t he in their minds they’re always wondering what Tiger’s doing well I’ve been watching through the week see the guys had a glance the lead the board and if the tiger name not there I’m not sure what that would he may give him a [Music] little blown that a little to the right left himself an up 11 now 505 yd long half four [Music] absolute perfect there you sure saw that graphic there at the bottom of the screen eight under on the par fors this week setting up for [Music] little come on right over the top of the [Music] flag beautiful shot that a trigging the third round of the [Music] Masters austa National gu as well as that of CBS network and its affili is pleased to tell you that steam very good aggressive P just a little bit cautious there Casey’s so pleased with his Goods Nice Shot just a little t- shot P back of imman and snaker first bir of today forward to Phil Mickelson on the T once he trying to avoiding the uh two enormous bunkers is absolutely fine even running it went sat down so that’s on that particular this particular hole Nick let’s go through Magnolia here here we go there there’s the two massive bunkers and it’s a plateaued fairway now up the right really anywhere up there is good as you can see turns to this devilishly difficult green with a massive humps and bumps all through that front you can see so clearly L easier St flag a high for sth at the US Open at shenok in 2014 he has now made the cut in 11 12 or 15 ft out to the right side yeah I have to say I recognize that part is that the one yeah well was that your first green jacket or second the first one yeah the green has been altered but this was similar FL wasn’t quite how quick it is the elevation changes trust me if it rolls over the back here or over the left it’s in the water doesn’t hang up even with the wet conditions today hole very very quick the edges [Music] that’ll be a task had a have a chance Green’s being a little bit soft but he struck the ball so beautifully over the first two runs and to this point has looked a little sheepish with the putter today splended in black and white and knock at home what a week he’s had get the field well done L up there close enough for a certain t 156 yards and the patrons love it tourament 274 Strokes great stuff let’s go to four and Trevor emman perhaps a fraction longer than the one he missed at the second hole today and a loose shot there from the te here CER angle giv you swivel there himman and Flash at seven Nicholson Paul Casey at six poter at five think a chance to tie the lead now at eight under as we see from the greens are being fractionally softer 20 ft or so for Tiger for a two double breaker in a practice round with Freddy to the 12th hole no indecision at all and he thought he had it bir’s at 11 and 12 Kenny birdie 13 I get a hat trick on a in corner you could make see almost all 15 let good to seven Paul casy for his third birdie in the first seven holes this short at one and six as well so on seven winner a season ago he shot 63 in the final round to claim Greensboro at of Nashville Tennessee his father Larry is an attorney there mother candy his brother haes was an outstanding College G for Old Miss is now a lawyer and a I felt good about my 07 Year my knees might have been knocking a little bit more but really it was it was I was excited I mean that’s that’s why I play the game I mean I want to be in contention I want to have those those uh Jitters those those nerves and and see how I can perform I mean when I BR 13 I thought you know what I’m getting Clos here and I started playing better it was almost like this is what I’m supposed to do this is why I’ve worked so hard to get to this point I’m not going to let this how about that and I was on 18 green and my wife looked at me and she’s just like I don’t know if she was a tears or just what she was just beside herself and I looked at I’m like yeah you know what this could be a big deal and all of a sudden I hear my mother-in-law screaming out I got Zach’s baby I have Zach’s baby and at that point I I I lost 2007 is the highlight of my profession winning the Master title leave it alone win they beg he said a good shot in here he estimates Nick he’s played 4 to 50 practice rounds herea and a few more in his mind as well well the alternative Nick if he’s 20 ft beyond that was a moment this complete the and it will keep hooking as it gets closer to the hole way to find that first little left to right maybe he didn’t is this for birdie it’s pretty weak let’s go back to five snaker for birdie Saker when he went to vanderville to play golf the golf coach of meredi was Mason Rudolph long time some that’ss that will certainly shake the confidence early in this round and he got that one that’s big only the fifth major he’s ever competed in he’s made the cut for because of the weather requires a good shot to get it close because the ground will not funnel the ball towards the hole very nicely done very nicely done he could so dangerous to try and get the ball there in two as tiger and Steve Williams walk toward the 13 green you can see the tributary of Ray Creek wow over par in the threes and fours That’s Not Unusual 87 under par on the par trying to rectify that now let’s go back to six brand snedaker leader at the Masters 15 ft seems quite comfortable doesn’t it to eight Casey second shot at the eight 245 rather than P straight up the good position for a birdie six last pairing of the day safely on the par 36 and we go forward to 18 and Zack Johnson can he get the two putt par ohly was Jim it’s hard to call gold chip whatever cobby chooses up there very aggressive full release of the club head nice he’s going to stay uh at 7 under and still a one shot lead as he is through one3 the day should be very simple you can hurt oh no he missed it tried to hit a low draw into the breeze there almost flies it straight into the C and from 224 yds with buba Watson that might have been 600 to the 10th and it’s Lee Westwood third shot well it was a year ago the last time I was in Butler cab with Zach Johnson he was receiving the Green Jacket good playing today Zack 68 some filet and then I had some uh shrimp and crab cakes and some tuna from the southeast tell us a little bit about brandan sneer yeah well you know I think the conditions are are um a little more favorable in my opinion I mean the gred the wind’s now starting to pick up uh which is fine by me but um you know for whatever reason the ball was starting to Hy or playing off the Fairway so I got a little bit more rooll than I even anticipated um probably due to the fact that it wasn’t quite that soft yet but still uh um still kind of firm so uh you know I expect some decent numbers you know if you’re if you’re swinging well and seeing the lines you can you know you can hit you can fire with the pins a little bit more today one he has no fear some R maybe receiving once again but we know you’ll be here at the very least put on a green jacket that was Brer from 152 yard at the seventh hole and he also finds the front bunker oh boy putterhead looked like it almost buns back off the ball definitely a deceleration back up full location 14 well the drift away this uh green slopes fairly dramatically from left to right and that very should be downwind from the right sometimes don’t get the ball high enough trajectory wise to knock it down no such issues for Trevor Casey over in front of the green at eight now you’re right there it was you know Simple Choice of C take a little n on and just squeeze it up there once asked what would be the one major he thinks best suits his game and he said the Masters spin out of his he judges it beautifully it Lees to the hole has it below the hole for his par I think this pairing of sneer and imman can help both of them as opposed to being paired with a Phil Nicholson or Tiger Woods sa away Sheed to tell me just avoid double at 11 because that hole can jump up and grab you this will definitely move towards the left and fairly quick birdie Le short up on the green unlucky taking the ball away from the hole ski to six or seven ft by then spun back of which not happen it’s definely been the easiest area leader board under par for alive Masters coverage tomorrow go to masters.org tiger not left he is bleeding frustration it’s coming out of every core it seems not as uh behind the the tempo Chang is when he SS so smooth or try a little Stinger it’s abely beautiful strier this will be six par FES in a row played under par if this goes in kind of little tiny little loop I just wonder where the golfing gods are watching after what happened at the first we obviously gained a couple of the very first hoen Steve flesh I saw him in the locker room this today he was eating fried eggs and avocado would you believe and I said how can you make three he tried to tell me what it dead straight from over there and I said yeah that was a five or a six yeah he would have been 70 or 80 ft past the pin if he’d missed the flag stick but with uh Dave P they’ve been they were hearing 11th green so the nightway that’ be a little tricky here is Ian polter my what on py what on Earth was that that was you have a name for that well that was a shank with diamonds if it comes back and it won’t so doesn’t got away with that at all so he’s got a fun slick punt coming here’s the second shot let’s watch the swing I’m not too sure everything the ball is well below the Fe good two or three in below how the hits through and hit it fast the and we go over to 15 with David F and uh well this is a shot to I’m trying to hit a big hold on your house long that’s just fine Paul with imagination um and and play golf when you get here I feel too many people are working on technique when they get here here’s the punt for for 32 and it could have been way lower too Peter well he missed with Casey’s record here again suay here well when I look at the younger players this is the toughest side to come from and we’re not really going to get away with that one time 51 Y Mar around here with good shots and not all that much attention from everyone but this is going to be problematic oh yes there’s a m hit there Jim hop up all the way stay there let’s good to 15 tiger very difficult bunker shot beautifully just lightning fast that’s the difference a good t-shot can make this was earlier he judges the spin absolutely beautifully some the other players getting more spin than the fours are very long and very on the first round he enjoys the game showed such enthusiasm on his way to that win in greensbor last year and here he is very Under Pressure trying to win the master this tournament but he is having a good time about that but I needn’t be and no worries beautiful play and you can see you know he wasn’t unhappy with the PT when he hit it took a long time to figure out where they were going to hit it but this green over the years it really hasn’t changed very much it does slope toward the back right at that point but uh just about a foot closer to the water needs to be a sensible attempt easy now thrown away shot at eight 32 by Zack Johnson and the native from Sur England spent three years at Arizona State and won the pack 10 Championship all three years that’s for Eagle have the honor on the 16th team anxiously now that is a well this is this is the 53rd round for Tiger RS and in the 52 previous on this hole he two under par he’s played the 16th and his own inimitable eight iron no wind now now he’s 65 ft away from an uphill birdie e and you never doubt how he feels so close well we all remember when he hit an eight iron at this hole in 2005 long and left and then one of the great shots I think that should be around about R where it would be inside 10 ft and all of a sudden I hear some guys yells out it’s going to go in and that’s when you see me perk up and I put the club up in the air thinking this is going to go in you can’t stop TR and then it fell in the feeling I had when I hit the three with off the te the feeling I had when I hit the eight iron it was was it that was it you’ve seen it away from the hole he going to try and land it in the in The Fringe there and just that is not surprising you lose your attention and exactly what you’re trying to do and yes the emotion set in he already set in on the on the te when he saw that stays on the correct level lovely free Rhythm to it but that’s going to come up short won’t climb up that last R left his work middle of the green it be a good play here yes I’ve seen a lot there’s also a big temperature check going on must be I’ve seen at least half a dozen players out there put their waterproof Crowes on with that would have a serious effect after the high temperatures high 8s or lot the barometric pressure has changed par side for him and moment let’s go back to 16 but he loses two we go to the 10 and what’s he trying here well down below the green and extremely difficult it’s a good cury Tiger’s made a move in fact he’s 300 for the day but want more Nicholson has stepped back after an early birdie a couple of Bogies and an unlucky re imman not looking all that sturdy but still Grant sneer I’m on a Dusty Road between uh but watching it closely is it going to turn over no not over there it’s not that’ll be a long second shot and again he played practice round here this week and the par three contest with the Manny worship the golf there that’s about 200 yards all about 2004 yards you get an idea that snaker will be in 220 230 range as they stride past the Jones cabin make their way down the hill and on and on they’ll eventually go toward aen corner and what do you see got to get that through the ball and you kind of put your your arms into a slow that was what Hogan looked so impressive every time his back sing was a little flat but when he when he went through he held that follow through position in the slot and Trevor does that very well Trevor comes from a family steep in the the game of golf his father Johan was3 and this was earlier from 240 yards retif goose in second shot that to get to four under go back and see what’s happening to Phil at 10 well this will have to draw in all his immense Talent short maybe just a little inside of that they certainly take that wouldn’t like the 8 ft past over to 11 and this is where Paul Casey left himself for two about an 80 foot put for birdie 15 ft of break starts turning there with theisms still pretty free pretty well played for flag tester a bit of grain there in that back right corner well you don’t want to be doing that missed a couple of makeable ones to be 4 under on the front nine could have been a lot better the gust of wind brought him up about 40t to short and a three p five back to 10 Phil Michelson who yesterday looked like everything was in sync this to see the backup and this again thinning out at the top neaker able to hold to pick up two he pulled it a little bit off the blade but he pulled it right the the hole for G with a three at 13 flesh made his car boie a moment ago at 11 we saw the double by Romero so again opening up space up there if you will for tigers to just join a couple of others you know before too long Jim it’s something about it as soon as you hit a poor shot here you know you self-inflicted one your your nerve ends change the pictures suddenly change you start looking at all the trouble and and you find it more difficult to visualize exactly what you through your head’ll be happy with that Nick 18 yards to an inviting ho location he was tied for fifth RS on the second line whether it’s almost whole second shots of four Eagle opportunities at the half FES in tough playing conditions I didn’t bother to line it up [Applause] understandably five under four shots off the lead meet tidy there he is page of our small leaderboard go back to 12 and for Casey on the T he’s got an 8 ey and it’s plenty of Club this is 38-year-old Robert Carlson and he moves to four under we see Trevor St making the odd downhill wow H big power cut stay in the air trying to get over everything when it’s clip something flattered and it’s oh might Bey oh yes it’s come back down certainly he redeem himself from his first three there at 11 very quick make one one foot Landing one foot left green would take a mad bounce down into with the lead with the long putt well judged just feeding it now feed feed boys have lost the feel of the pace the temperature is changing out here it was so humid this morning and now it’s getting colder and I you know obviously it it will affect the grass must make sure you hit enough Club here get up oh that was an iron from 231 yards down the hill somewhere down short front right of the green maybe well short 60 you know 60 yards even give him from my tower I can see him through a gaple of trees and he’s guess what that means he likes it Hing around up and over oh incredible and here it is you got to figure two putts likely on the way here so this could have been a place where shots were surrendered not yesterday look at this and actually a tactical error a rare one by Tiger he did not ask steuart Apple to go ahead and Mark he didn’t wait this might have gone in but he would hold that P for a four a great four and around to 71 so he’s at about the exact same location where yesterday’s 18th hole was located this time he just plays the power game off the pine straw he’s about to put the finishing touches on a big Saturday move has he pulled it too much oh no oh that could be all right it’s got a fatuous little drop down from the trees there it’s in the pine straw but it could have been worse such a long hole 505 yd per four see the leader board down there that’s just left of the green a long way for a man not tall in stature let’s go to 18 warm Ovation waiting their Heroes out of a good watch got a hit it and again it doesn’t break back them these Premier upper echelon player position so be able to weed it FR of them that’s all between them you only have about a handful of Victories ever on us soil never a major in fact really not even top five finishes in a major but though going into the night how much doesn’t move very little very little reminds me a little bit of what he did last year at Oakman on the Saturday round and of course this is the thing that’s always repeated you know if he can to have a three putt not too bad at least he’s got an uphill putt for the par to 13 well Paul Casey has hit it through the Fairway off the te electing to just lay up didn’t quite turn his three-wood as much as he needed he’s left himself uh far enough back that he might be able to go ahead and fly it back to that small plateau and spin it enough to keep it there you’ll see but first we’ll go to 18 and this is for birdie Romero goodness hold on flesh as Romero stood over that one made his par at 11 over to 11 looked like a lucky break here Ian I think so but he’s a long way back I like that 250 7 yards to the hole let’s check out this 3D rendering here of the 11th hole and that’s where he is right down there below the pines and that’s what he has on to the left the water hazard there that’s so easy to hit it in with the bank so Steep and so well manicured that’s correct right at the left edge of that bridge is perfect BR he got the rescue aiming it down at those uh hillocks Mounds short the green Sergio Garcia run up here oh hang on well it was Brave pick I’m not sure he wanted it that far left plateau and spin it he can elect to play a he’s going for the low one trying to release it up there that’s very nicely done and is 12th green out of 133 holes that he’s hit so his ball striking has been very good today actually given back at least three or four shots in his round today I’m not sure you can continue to do that and expect to be number one by tomorrow afternoon but we we’ll see back to 11 Peter you told us that statistic about greens hit with a lot of Pride as his coach so he should be Trevor imman now getting set with his second Trevor’s got 209 and that’s after a very well hit drive just goes to show how long this hole plays Nick straight well Ben Hogan used to say that’s where he aimed he said if you ever saw me on the 11th green I’d pulled it that’s not too bad a shot plenty of green to play with and now at 12 Steve flesh got an very nicely played for Steve flesh who at seven under par just two behind br Meda and we’ll be right back to see if he can make a birdie there here third round came to the 17th I can read that the [Music] trees you do you wanted to Ood as everyone celebrated Gary players’s 51st appearance in competition the all-time record and late yesterday afternoon when he said goodbye he’s coming back by the [Music] way sacred s tomorrow in fact at 1:30 on CBS we’ll remember Gary player’s last Green Jacket performance from 1978 it was a riveting day you won’t want to miss it tomorrow Gary Player battling the lengths of Tom Watson hbert green Ron funi and others 1:30 tomorrow before our final round and let’s go back out to you Peter 13 the three poot at 11 and moves to minus 8 one shot out of the lead 400 today back to 11 bran ner electing to pitch this one from just off The Fringe boy I love his pace of play certainly taken a page out of Tom Watson’s book Ed pitch it on very quick down the hill here towards the water down drain approach here pretty straight up here P remain seven under two under today and two behind bran disappointment there the t- shot left just short left for two and failed to get it up and down Eman now knock this one in he’s got a share of the lead where he started the day at 8 under he was one in front outward half of 30 still in that first position some good scoring today the conditions a little bit Gusty at times with the wind and certainly now as Nick has told us a lot cooler than it was earlier rain’s a bit more receptive great up and down there the little fist pump he PA through 11 that’s the toughest hole today averaging nearly 4 and a half now Phil melson came up short in the bunker is for par the other way you watch Steve fleshes break across the hole the other side four sort of like the seventh inning stretch everyone gets a chance to stand up and have a clap as the the leaders and the great Champions have Years Gone by come to the 12 T let’s take a look at this 12th hole one of the most famous holes in all of golf certainly the most famous par three and that’s what it looks like 13 right next to it of course the pro T well back another 50 yard or so bridge over there on the right hen Bridge just there short that you cross as you go to the 12th green deep bunker in front two shallow bunkers behind frame the hole beautifully early 80s they put a heating system in under this graen to keep it warm in the cool nights circulation back in this little corner wonderful hole just goes to show you don’t have to have a long path three to have a great hole the short ones sometimes are the best that’s because the first two days not much Breeze certainly have a go at it with an eight or nine it exploded it high beautiful actually a little surprised to see him come up left of the hole I he must hold off there it’s going the long left oh it’s okay avoided the pine straw a little tester from there we might see a little bump and run that’ll be a hard one to lob on and stop it definitely will be and that’s on a that’s on a very steep little down slope there we’ll be back let’s go to 14 that’s Paul Casey try leader and eight under par that turns it around the corner beautifully ever come up with these names team today this is the mark to the left and this is going to be a delicate effort upcoming to 12 delicate little chip here for branch neica little bump and run oh it checked it’s just a little bit furry on that back Fringe there that second bounce just clipped into it didn’t get the roll down the slope after the second round a little scoring comparison here Trevor imman at 8 under France stica one behind or Casey and Tiger Woods with those good rounds today have jumped up at 4:15 today tiger was three under Paul Casey six at 5:00 s and Casey tied at 8 under Trevor imman one back tiger inching ever closer and currently three at the top at 8 and Tiger Woods just three back in fourth place let’s go to poor Casey now at the 14th this has been a tough shot for the players who have found themselves in that position but this is very well done birdie remain at 8 under 4 under first round today solid for birie beating tiger in a playoff at the Masters still having a fantastic second Masters let’s go to 15 and the immensely powerful Paul case those forearms well we wait and see but that’s uh that’s not good earlier 13 Steve flesh had 223 yards ball below his feet boy has done a marvelous job of maintaining his rhythm today imman BR trying to turn it over has he there’s dead straight but short enough it don’t go left that was a shot that was required to go left going to the right side of the T trying to get a better line nicely done there as well both players will have an option of going for the green and two corner with today’s round but it will be a birdie and it will get him to minus three and a chance now with especially with the 15th hole coming up and it maybe a good t- shot there he could get himself into pairing with Tiger Woods let’s go to 15 now out of the pine straw just a punch out for Paul kie Lely little cut punch there beautifully done he is running that down the left hand side of the Fairway he’ll have a reasonably long shot in and uh well where this flag is he’s going to be able to get some spin on that you need to be careful with that let’s take a our bird’s eye view if you like layup on the left hand side [Music] here where you want to go [Music] and anything short is going to come back in the water anything long is going to jump over the back you got to land it just short of the hole and even then if you’ve got too much spin on it you can still come back in the water still leg left 440 Tander from Kentucky will move into the second from that yardage far to the right to get a better angle at this raise Creek as you said well to the right usually like a 60 yd pitch and run up the ridge he starts it out to the right he laid fairly well back but that’s okay that’s that’s a fair that tiny little sliver of green how crowned it is it’s actually all the way back just short of 120 yards that would be good news pitching wedge keep some of that spin over very difficult not it’ll get back from here now right shot high in the 70s gave every a hell of a chance rather a lead and pull his way through over the S Bridge they go the bleachers on both sides of this 15th green take it on he’s aiming well right oh boy expecting the slope to help pull that ball back to the left and really bad air at this moment in the proceedings for Branson Eder he won’t be able to play that one unlike Michelson who hit it in that same Hazard twice this week so far and was able to play actually made a birdie the par franch n will have to drop in three and be playing his fourth Peter looked like he was lined up over there he was I think he expected the the slope to help bring it back to the left and he just hung on to it and didn’t happen flesh 175 yds out this back left hole location beyond the green and went down the slope a little bit head to 15 well a couple of options here for Paul you can either choose to bump and run this back in his stance and just short of the green or he could flat all the way try and make a check looks like he’s trying to bumping around it still no Eagles today should be a nice four for Stuart s who quietly uh trick here is to control the spin and the trajectory he seems to be going to quite a bit of LOF for this shot T last pce tell by Body language’s attitude is terrific Peter costus 50 doz c instances and certainly to the right of 15 is one of them most cases when you get out of position it’s a kind of a damage limitation exercise I’m just a little bit tentative with his talking his acceleration through the ball is not quite what it was earlier in the round but that’s to be expected after being out here for this length of time I suppose back at 14 FL found it just a little bit heavy and is it going to stay up there oh boy it’s amazing this golf course one bad swing can make you pay with two or three Strokes and then Nick Feld though the emotional part starts to come in you really have to gather yourself breathe deeply do whatever you do but you have to get your emotions under control or you can really pay the price exactly Peter that’s what we’ve seen you know soon as somebody plays a poor shot or one that’s going to cost him a couple of sh shots it it really sets in your right you have to be to hit that reset button and just deal with it and get yourself into present time and easier said than done cuz you you will feel you get a little bit of the shakes for a few seconds cuzz you it’s All About Touch Augusta you’ve got to have the ability to feel it around these greens to 14 so Michelson trying to keep things turned back around coming off of Birdie at 13 coming back after four buies in a six hole stretch almost made evil at 13 just to save par maintain a share of the lead mode now this for par but would gladly take a bogey and get out of here okay there’s the taping for TR he has a two shot lead perfect final round Eagle on the 13th to defeat Doug Ford the previous year’s winner by one and then two years later 1960 Arnold bir the final hole for a one-stroke win over Ken Venturi in 62 Palmer won in a three-man playoff claiming his third green jacket then in 1964 he ran away from the field winning by six Arnold Palmer tied with Tiger Woods for second most wins in Master’s history effort for birdie loses one at 15 gets it right back and he’s only one off the lead lead held by Trevor emman earlier Trevor emman the field and driving accuracy this week he’s only missed three Fairways the entire week and none today a little bit of stress 15 okay Steve flash just vitally important to hit the right half of this fairwell we’re right to center Center would work yep that’ll work you have a look 141 will go a little bit left the three right of the flag of the brige that tiger hit send his ball sliding on 40 ft right that Ridge is why we’ve seen so many shots long cannot afford to be short oh this is Prett well done that’s getting better every moment he’ll also have a chance for birdie only two Bogies all week he has been so solid sixth Masters 256 yards for a second shot he elected to lay up easily reachable for these players and he is laid up right over there in the right corner that’s deliberate now because it gives him a lot more green to work with he’s coming diagonally across the green and he can use the slope as a break and throw this into the right of the problem on that side it’s flatter over there on the left melson is laid up green to work with that pH melson is going to have one the most frightening shorts died so long R right at it it spins oh it’s a [Music] beauty uses the advantage of having all that green to work with only three birdies here all day would love to end the streak consecutive boies with here mro Phil Michelson on beautifully struck it’s a tougher shot oh well I’ll tell you he may well have been worried right there if he’ got some real spin on that that was in danger have a look at his reaction oh yeah please no more no m 14 now trying to extend his lead to Two Shots what a read he’s a 10 under as he goes to the 15th reads casy by two back to back birdies 17 full Casey second cut left side does he have to maneuver around the trees I think so try and hit the draw this is going to be very interesting to get good enough contact to control the spin trajectory power one surprise he go straight over the top but hitting it hard and high would almost guarantee a flyer while he’s got a flyer there as well way over the back of the green shake his head out of control the balls jumping off the face comes across the Saron bridge and a share of second place tough to hit her firm enough and having birdied uh 13 and [Music] 14 welcome to my moment I’m on a Dusty Road between uh King City and Kinga and my moment is happening right here you see the guys the Papermill ask for bids right away oh boy neck that’s just awful well even yeah it’s a poor shot he knows you can’t if you’re going to go for it you still got to air to the left of the the flag so if you miss it comes back down the hill cuz he will know that is absolutely dead up the only option hit the pin and jam it in mhm watch the Flight of the ball now s well done BL having a really terrific experience in theas this week and Lefty and Lefty take another look at the Flight of the ball like a tracer through the sky and he’s left himself 12et for birdie as he can peer down and see his reflection Nicholson and flesh the one a little happier than a little more tree trouble see if sniger decides hit this on the right hand side leave himself that angle yep center right kind of in between there it’s not a bad spot now 245 for Trevor emman H he’s leading by three shots and check shot and again choosing to go down the right hand low punch one bind skid and there you go throw out a parachute just couldn’t play it any better than that the second shot at 14 135 yards just wants it to cut little grind cut there that D toward the hole you polish that off head staying beautifully steady a very neat and tidy scorecard a little four there at the uh very difficult R three fourth hole Bird’s at 8 13 14 and really a great chance here at 15 and if he can get to 11 moment ago nichelson who did not Dole over this shot and here’s the difficulty and we uh get up it could come back Hur maret boy that grew a little pair of feet didn’t it that golf ball he was up there as speed left the fast as we SE Phil mve today to get to mark that one gracious now he’ll be furious at that cuz he’ still be thinking of the of the t-shot well uh it’s about as hard to hit the Green from here as it was from the top of the hill you can see those Fairways I mean this is a steep down slope Fairways cut it about it’s a buzz cut basically but a number four absolutely perfect that’s what a lie that these players love you know they need to get the spin on it terrify the average player see bottom of his shoes disappeared there seemed to strike it nicely oh yeah he did needs a spin maybe a little unhappy if it had yanked back a touch that really would have gathered speed and gone very close but still a good chance what a great attitude he has let’s go ahead to 18 it’s ball Casey with driver he’s going to driver every day looking right escape again he struck it well that doesn’t need to spend oh oh there is a tiny flat spot just here oh oh he doesn’t even want the crow to be no noisy Sprint and player yeah don’t worry about the divit h i I’ve never seen a ball stay out there 16 years ago today David there was a similar stoppage over on the 12 hole for Fred cou patch into the green and there is a slight depression right there he made that for his car and Phil Mickelson that’s a four for Phill five b it all began with the ear shot ler grass see that practice Wing didn’t make contact I I suggest he just breathed in as well exactly look how far away from the ball he is probably W probably won’t ground the club either but the this is a tough shot to play without soing the club okay oh that would be enough clipped it played it very wellever you know you want to make four at this hole you know you should make four just asks you so many questions the answers to which you very often don’t know and just in its own pitch mark right there inside the hazard no it did it did trickle a little bit the whole velcro thing like we saw here now you’ve been there for years at 15 how many times have you seen a ball stop like that I have never seen a ball come off at that particular point because that’s the steepest part that’s uh of that bank I I know from over the years that there is that one little tiny flat spot that’s about 6 Ines wide there but uh I don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody stop there if you get a chance Jim I do know why the ball stopped on on 12 now for Fred that’s an important one for bran sniger that gets him back to eight under sole possession of second place and after a string of boogies yes that’ll make him feel better em you know from looking like he may have a four shot Advantage with the four here has to make this just to stay two shots in front how quickly things can change here really has played beautifully now for three days right Edge back hole location yes it’s it’s t way in the right that is an absolutely fabulous shot who’s unable to go sensibly to play middle of the green to do it to that Perfection that really was one of the best Absolut best he could do buggy trip through Amen Corner very appealing demeanor on the golf course and you can see side of the flag stick which she called safe play not an easy putt but uh give it a whack get it uphill he conservative r safely on now good just had to hit it good hard swing at that in between clubs and deciding to go hard and getting that little bit of extra spin good shot chance for the birdie 15 and the one exception for these two young men somewhat surprising leaders this is in 2005 watch and remember it was on Sunday he was in the pairing in front of Tiger Woods [Music] and here we are three years later and he finds himself The Leader by two on the same hole I wonder if he’ll have that same kind of reaction tomorrow on at 18 B yes to 17 now Steve flesh with his birdie opportunity the Leander going cross-handed and just stay in the mix here he comes out of the green side bunker to hear this forar and that is big that’s impressive from that right hand bunker that is was a lot deeper than the nice looks back at imman says go ahead and play under par one under on today’s round this part ver as we saw with Phil Mickelson’s one of the few puts you actually have to hit it hard you know out of all the 18 greens but you know how hard it’s hard because you know darn well if you go four or 5 ft past what you’re potentially leaving then you’re looking back down here close perfectly B so it’ll be a three for both snaker and Ilan here at 16 Wonder around ahead we saw Casey earlier 69 uh you know I’m happy with that sure I made a couple of mistakes but um you know anytime you can I mean if you manage to play a perfect round of golf and get through this golf course without making a bogey that’s an incredible thing so um I’m not going to dwell on that I’m very very happy with the 69 today and I need to continue to do that Trevor’s setting a number out there so I need to go even lower than I think tomorrow speaking of tomorrow the stadio game looks to be pretty good full swing seems to be in Rhythm um your game plan for tomorrow I’m going to ask you that um well thank you the swing look right um it’s just more of the same I mean this is about for me it’s about routine it’s it’s uh not doing anything different and that’s the game plan for tomorrow uh I’ve got a way of plotting my way around golf course which I really like and um you know I know the wind’s going to get up I’m going to be patient tomorrow take the opportunities when I get them and um you know I hit a lot of good golf shots you know when the wind picks up I try and hit shots move it around in the wind and control the golf ball and if I can do that and keep it below the pins like I did today there’s no reason why I can’t make some birdies out there well congratulations another wonderful round of golf tomorrow maybe another one will uh will be all you need thank I hope so I mean you know if Trevor continues to play the golf he’s he’s playing right now it be difficult but I’m going to worry about myself and uh one shot at a time good luck back up to 18 Jim yeah you know that’s a little surreal I’m sure for both of them because usually the other way around Paul asking the questions to the mentor the Eisenhower Tree on the left hand side hold that finish then realizing maybe a little bit too far right a shot wow quite a power draw around the corner against the slope for a left hand that is a fabulous shot it may be a shot that puts him in the final pairing tomorrow because if he makes it he post eight under first before SN to see what he does 17 left from 165 see how accessible this whole location is a little bit of a runoff that might be a problem for Inman coming out of the rough just listen to Steve flesh tracking this spectacular second shot a moment ago I come on well that’s all you got that’s all right whatever your 100% looks like give it you don’t need anymore that was from 180 fles will have that punt for 69 let’s go back to 17an a few yards closer to the hole but out of the rough the challenge is uh controlling the distance can you get what kind of spin are you going to get on the ball is it going to fly out of the rough and be out of control he’s on the front of the green going up the up the hole an up slope if he carries it halfway onto the green it then downhill ni swing oh and he manages to stop it very quickly that is surprising guaranteed two pop from there you would have expected to run on just a little bit more than that striding up the hill fighting fit he’s been through some health issues over the last year or so but uh looking good 17th oh with the pressures of a major championship plenty of energy very focused young man even when he came here as an am having won the PO links Championship he was very intense working hard at the game [Applause] patons appreciate the good shots beautiful sunshine for the [Applause] birdie whole location beautifully done and then at 18 middle of the green hole high with the second shot and a 33 finish birdie birdie very nice he’s looked very comfortable twoot lead over s who’s at the back of the green Tiger Woods five behind if we’re going to have some good weather tomorrow will those par FS be Eagle opportunities on the second nine goinging a couple of groups ahead of the final pairing it’s going to be 63 High they’re saying usy and Gus 25 to35 that’s right you you’ve been talking about the strong winds well then anything can happen and it’s not a question of having good weather and having a tiger shoot of 65 64 it’s just how do you maneuver around on Lightning Fast greens and the wind blowing a real challenge in down hill was very conscious ofast it might have been around the C make B and K left third shot boy do have some magic watch this they have some luck it back green you’ve got to have that P and AAR at 16 for a booty is the last to post two under there are nine players at two under including G Carlson Romero polter Zack Johnson bu Weekley p Harrington sha O’Hare so Nicholson will have a rather early go of it by comparison to the last men out be in seven groups from the end side by side with everyone tomorrow which can always be an important thing it’s great to be out there with the leader to see exactly what’s going on we had from your win in 90 until last year every winner came out of the fin pairing and thater birdie will meh would be out last tomorrow he has been back and forth with the belly putter the regular link putter since 2003 finally just said you know what I’m not making anything I’m a field player I’m going back to what I started with when I was a kid speaking of kids back on the 18th e sneaker white blue eyes that’s a beautiful t-shot to be impressed by the way these two have really held up today you know last night we were kind of discussing what might be the lead number at the end of the day and it’s much higher than we speculated well yeah mainly through the weather we were talking about you know Gusty winds coming FL locations have been good for the guys the greens were a little bit softer and lag cutting being so so precise and hops into the Fairway Trevor imman else but Gary Player back in his native land he was the hero first met him when he was 5 years old Gary competing here again this week the Three Time Masters winner Scot fail giv him all the answers right yeah I know we want to take something to get it back there I think that can get back there I don’t want you to feel like you’ve got a I like that gra just on that right TV tower right split in that Hut okay I believe that gets back there they want that back Plateau he’s going seven iron leave it leave it sound right from the brid what a shot land across the corner what a bad aggressive shot a full swing is always easier to play than a half shot when you’re a when you’re hyped up and the adrenaline is pumping Trevor imman one win here in the states yeah sticks his same routine finds a little spot right in front of him to really square up the club face and then builds his stance after that sit down sit down want it [Music] down be un so if you’re thinking about using that lining up routine I’d give it a thumbs up Neil Wallace help give him the right Club how about these two shots by these two who have uh certainly gained a whole new Legion of fans today wonderful little hold up fade there going to raise the bar with that one to 11 under snaker shot and the one to flowing [Music] swing driving it great and as as long as this golf course is I have to put the ball in play to even set up having a chance to get my irons you know next to the hole or even on the green for that matter and I’ve driven the ball great kept it in play and uh you know I’ve actually puted pretty good this week too and it when you add it all up uh you know I’m playing well what’s it going to be like for you if you find yourself in the last group you’ll be in the final two regardless uh you know what I was thrilled to even be here this year and uh I had I had a great end of the year rallied to even get into this event and you know this is kind of what we all play for and you know not to use too many cliches but this is you know this is probably the best day I’ve had at August my four times here and if I can getting the final group great if not you know I’m look forward to just having a great time tomorrow and hopefully playing well well great plan and uh you’re in the moment here good luck tomorrow let’s go back up to chim n thank you Steve fleser Won twice late in 2007 and again the champion has come out of the final pairing 16 of the last 17 years Zack Johnson broke that last year and again it ad dat it back to un Nick winning a 1990 outside the final pairing this to get in it for Saker he will be riding again tomorrow alongside people have been waiting to identify the next great young American player under the age of 30 and it might just be this young man from Nashville it’s a round of 70 you know his judgment is mind was uh cloudy to say the least down at 11 12 13 when you start seeing things go wrong it’s just you just can’t bring any a new picture anyway Trevor to join him over three at the last matching birdies phenomenal it’s around to 69 for imman who shoots 33 on the second nine player hen Els is this the next South African The Taste the major maybe this is the shot that will be replayed for years to come if he can close it tomorrow the one that Almost Got Away you might be wondering tomorrow at this time if it was fate I know this tomorrow is April 13th and April 13th is always been a special day around Augusta sey won here in 1980 his first Masters on that date Jack Nicholas back in 75 was an April 13th win his win in 86 was April 13th and that win for the ages April 13th 1997 Trevor imman will go into the night with the lead again looking for a little wi to wire action here at [Music] Augusta boy it’s been fun sitting back and watching it all unfold Nick it certainly has Jim now I hope these guys can bottle that adrenaline they’ve got going right now and bring it straight out to the first here and continue in the same mode it will be a fantastic day who could imagine that these last two would come to the home hole emman is the leader by two can’t wait to get it all started again tomorrow will Tiger be able to make up six shots Paul Casey will begin Sunday four behind Steve flesh is three back after his round of 69 sneaker’s been smiling most of the way is he ready for the Breakthrough day or will it be the Breakthrough win with that Focus that belongs to Trevor imman until then Jim N and Nick FDO and the entire CBS crew we’ll see you back here tomorrow for this great tradition truly unlike any other
