good golfers never do this one thing did you get to work on your official routine yeah I did it was helping my shots immensely so I was able to stick to it oh nice to help you play well in the golf course we decided to work on your mental game and to help you control that mental game we had to work on your routine so last time we worked on your pre-shirt routine sounds like it’s been going really well so today we’re gonna focus on the post shot routine yeah I was really looking forward to today pool shot routine is just like it sounds a routine you do right after your shots and good golfers never do this one thing after you hit a shot whether it’s a good shot or a bad shot what’s your normal thought process like for example this one I think it went out of bounds I’ll do that right what went through your head there a couple of bad words went through my head and I’ll be like would it be triple or quadruple yes sarcasm I can totally relate even good golfers do that too couple bad words and then sarcasm but good golfers never leave it at that we do a pull shot routine whether it’s on purpose or subconsciously we do a routine so we eliminate any possibility of of making the same mistake or hitting best shots in a row because we don’t want to go find your ball and then hit the next one out of bounds because you’re all fluttered right post shot routine super simple all you have to do is three R’s three r’s are replay remind and then release okay so let’s take that one for example you hit it a couple bad words went through your head you got upset that’s totally okay to do but replayed in your head like what do you think happened over the shot that made you hit it that way so I was focusing on my pre-shot routine and I noticed the road I said to myself not to hit it right and I hit it right it’s really good you just recognize what you did there so replay is just going through what you did that caused that shot so that’s a replay the worst thing you could do is say don’t hit it right because you’re basically reminding yourself to like hit it right because you’re focusing on that side now that’s the replay now for the in mind let me show you so basically remind is in the future if you finish your routine with don’t hit right thought then you’re going to stop yourself and tell yourself to back up do your pre-shot routine again so you regroup and focus on the target you’re trying to hit too and not finish with don’t hit right thought okay so with the remind you always want to start with next time I I know it sounds kind of silly but if you do the same system it’ll kind of give you a cue remind you to really do what you told yourself to do okay for example you say next time I finish the routine with don’t hit right thought then I will back up do my pre-shot routine again and focus on my target like this focusing on my target foreign so focusing on my target will help you to hit it there just higher chances so that’s a remind replay and remind are the first two r’s and then release is basically there’s a lot of uh thought process going on a lot of tension so you’re releasing it before you move on that’s the third one so why don’t we move on to the next shot and we can talk about the release in depth okay there are many different ways to do release some people look away look at the birds and do breathing techniques I prefer to do this breathing technique when I had insomnia I tried many different breathing ways and this one like really stuck with me helps me like really reset everything so you want to try it yeah okay so basically many people know about this technique what we’re going to do is we’re going to breathe in through our nose big breath like and then as you’re breathing out through your mouth you’re going to imagine that all the tension and all those thoughts are exiting through your fingertips and your toes and your mouth so all the tension is gonna get released out of your body okay so you’re gonna try it so it goes and then you can breathe as many times as you need to really reset your mind but if you do this so replay the remind all those are going to be like in your system but the tension is going to be gone so you’re ready to hit the next shot so after this one no matter what happens to the shot we’re gonna try the three R’s okay okay all right [Music] thank you all right replay it went well but I hit it slightly fat what happened I often miss my Woods thin so I think I was worried about it and I think that made me hit down at it oh okay I think we can use that for our remind okay uh next time I worry about hitting it then what can I do I think you can either change it to a hybrid or you could back up and regroup okay so next time I worry about hitting it thin either change it to hybrid or just do the pre-shot routine again and refocus on the shot sounds great now let’s do the release together okay so breathe in and release through the mouth so you do a lot of yoga so you’re probably familiar with the breathing technique right yeah I I do feel my mind resetting through breathing oh that’s great so we worked on the pull shot routine today and worked on the three R’s how did it feel do you do all three R’s after every single shot yeah you know what actually because I was explaining in depth it took quite a while but after some repetition work you should be able to do it like that just like the preset routine what happens is you hit the shot and you go oh this and this happened next time I will do this and then done okay so you should be able to do it within like 10 seconds it’ll become very easy Once you put some repetition work into it okay I work on my post shot routine this week all right to help you play ball on the golf course we worked on the mental game and to control that mental game we had to work on the pre-shot routine and the post shot routine but technical part is just as important so in the next one we’re gonna focus on our driving very hits so please look forward to that thanks for golfing with us today and see you in the next one
