shoot a three ball until late and then he got the ball he got the uh started posting up he started driving the basketball and then he saw the ball start to go in and when the ball started to go in he got gained more and more confidence and he shot those he wasn’t forced hey great swing passes if you notice tonight they ran the offense through Ant-Man Ant-Man had nine assists he did a great job yeah he had six turnovers but you put him in a position that’s not that’s normally Mike Conley’s job they switched the defensive assignments they put Jaden Daniel Jaden McDaniels on Kyrie they put Ant-Man on Luca that seemed to work now what’s going to be the counter what is gonna be Jason uh kids counter to what he saw tonight uh but yeah the Min Minnesota won they they they played better they got great production from their big two and that’s what you have to have at some point in time your big two is gonna have to play the opposition’s big two and tonight they did and they got on they they went on the road and they one small issue one small issue ant I know you going to see this at some point because y’all watch the show when he puts the ball on the floor and he’s able to drive from Perimeter inside when he’s mid-range he keeps hesitating he keeps he keeps hesitating after he’s misses the shot Miss after he’s missed the shot or two man don’t hesitate right man keep on is not trusting a shot in certain instances he got to let that he gota let thing go man just let just just pull up whether he did overpass the ball a couple of times he’s 15 he’s a 15 to 10 feet away go ahead take that shot hey they they trust you more than anybody else so shoot the shot if you make a miss they’ll live with that because you played well thus far but I like the adjustment that they made they put the ball in ant-man’s hand they let him like bro we need you to be aggressive we need you to also open things up because they’re gonna have to come and double team yeah and so now if you’re gonna double team him now you’re gonna get C with some easy baskets now you get Jade McDaniels making some easy baskets and so that’s what you do you make the offense a lot easier for everyone else um when when Ant-Man is aggressive because they have to scramble to try to send two people at him and some is goingon to be wide open I thought Mike Conley was aggressive early also he did a great job in the first half of getting going uh he got going early Antman was extremely aggressive he had in the first quarter yeah uh but and then he got it going in the fourth quarter give those guys credit oo they found a way to win the game when no one really gave them a chance outside of that locker room I’m sure some of their fans like Hey we’re gonna win this thing but Dallas Dallas Dallas didn’t play well they didn’t play they seemed like they was lagging the whole night like Minnesota just going to lay down nobody wants to get swept yeah you see how hard Indiana played last were 14 games above and 6.7 better than any other team in the Eastern Conference and you know when you got JT First Team all the NBA jayen Brown Brown who was the L bird recipient which means he was the Eastern Conference Finals MVP now they’re heading to the finals having lost two games through the first through rounds the any the fewest of any finalist in the last seven years uh as we mentioned Jaylen Brown averaged 29 Points a game on 52% shooting five rebounds three assists he made the biggest shot of the series when he hit a game tying three in game one who knows how to the the the the series would have changed how it would have turned out uh feel they definitely would have been playing game five at the bare minimum but he’s the finals uh the Eastern Conference Finals MVP uh the last couple of games JT really picked up his scoring but it was Derek white again U making a big three in the corner that puts him up by three uh and the thing is oo if you watching this watch this game last night the Pacers are in position yeah but the inexperience shows his head again turnovers turnovers turnovers y you and on top of those turnovers the Celtic got points off of those turnovers as turnover turnovers as well I think the funny thing but the Pacers fought the Pacers fought very very very very very well and trying to do all they can to make sure it wasn’t a sweep but obviously without Halle Burton it was already a tall task if he was playing but without him playing it was it was almost impossible but they they did play well um I I don’t want to get his name the wrong way he’ll learn from that and uh he’ll be a better player for it but I like I like uh I like the way he played in this team they gonna be all right they they got to make it a something special they can be good now now the E you know everybody’s you know free agency is about to hit in the next month or so and the Nick thing hey we can make a we can make we can lure somebody in free agency I’m sure the Sixers are saying hey we can lure somebody in free agency uh Miami is definitely Pat Riley’s always looking to lure someone to Miami to pair with Jimmy Butler and Bam um and so it’s gonna be very very best year in Boston yeah he made Allstar team his last year in in in Utah that’s how he got that Max contract he probably should have stayed there but okay he wanted to win he didn’t think he winning Utah I got no problem with that I commend the guy for giving up that fifth year and going to Boston because he thought they had a better chance of winning he broke his leg like the first game like the first game of the season ah next season average 17 he a he had he averag 11 then 17 with the Charlotte average 20 see see see okay what do you have see see the 15 okay after that 20 season in Charlotte 15 149 ah hello are we understanding why those numbers are decreasing because the playing time is decreasing as well I don’t think I’m just personally I don’t think there’s anything wrong player has weaknesses and he can’t win on his own you scheme him open same basketball and then when the season’s over what they do with that player they move on you know how when a player gets old and he’s not giving you that same production they ask you to take a pay cut first right hey bro hey hey yeah you know we we know you used to give us 13400 yeah can you give us 1250 for a third of the especially when you have the green light to shoot sometime you go to certain places it’s you don’t feel comfortable you’re walking on eggshells and that’s why not only the decrease in minutes but the decreas in points from from Utah the Boston that is the reason why they went down OKC [ __ ] Charlotte I just don’t I just don’t see anyone that was scoring 226 and five just falling completely off a cliff because of injury he’s not but he’s not that player that would warrant 35 40 minutes okay yeah okay okay all right I in order to score if in order to SC the amount of points that he’s playing he’s probably playing 38 minutes where he’s no longer that guy so he can’t give you that kind of production so if you’re not playing those kind of minutes how can I give you the say Oho how can I give you the same production if you don’t give me the same number of targets if you cut my Targets in half you’re gonna cut my production in half yeah a running back gets 300 carries he rushes for, 15500 yards you give him 150 you still think he’s gonna get, 1500 it’s not going to happen oh you catch you catch it for, 1400 yards but I’m giving you 150 targets a season right well o I’m only gonna give you 100 targets you ain’t going for that number because now 100 Target that means you got to catch every ball and average 14 15 yards a catch just to get to 14 to 1500 yards which you don’t bro you going to lead the league you goingon to be top three if you averaging 15 yards a catch on that many catches right so that’s I just like I said I’m surprised I am surprised that Sam pressy like I made a mistake yeah it’s stuff like that you keep in house man because I’m sure other GMS have made made mistakes as well whether it be MLB whether it be NBA whether it be NFL they don’t come out and George with Shay or go get a big go get a Andre Drummond that could that can take some minutes off chat that can battle with a yage that can battle with some of the bigs down down low yeah for sure I and in favor of longer training camp ramp up with players reporting in mid June early July basically the idea would be rolling extended otaa style or ramp up strength and conditioning non paded work etc straight in the training camp without six weeks of break and deescalation between a major change do you like this oo absolutely not don’t change it up don’t change it up because you you got to understand what you’re doing is also you’re taking money out of people pocket sometimes the players in their contracts they have incentives to come to these voluntary workouts you know and why would you want to extend training camp why would you want to do that because I thought we were I thought we were about protecting the players oh oh no we we we’ve long decided that it was about the money so we we’ve been decided what it was about yeah but you can see where this thing is headed so what you what we’re gonna do is that we’re gonna have this long roll out one preseason game and we’re gonna hit the game running we g hit the field we g hit the ground the field running yeah so that’s what you up to and maybe you still put that in your contract oo okay you put put your contct take the money from the allseason program and added to the End season yeah okay I mean I never put that I never had that in my contract right cause I wasn’t gonna come so unless you give me a half a million dollars I wasn’t I wasn’t willing to for 50,000 I wasn’t willing to stay in Denver I want to do my own workout because I know I was going to push myself harder than what I was going to work out there right though I don’t like taking away the preseason games for those that sign as free agents for those that are coming out College they get an opportunity uh to make the team I don’t like it for those that are third fourth fifth and sixth uh round draft picks because they need that film they need that film of those three or four preseason preseason games that they do play in to get a chance not only to make that Squad but to put themselves on tape as a resume for other teams that might need a body at that position I I I don’t like it I don’t like I don’t like it because it takes away from them and their opportunity to get a chance to play in the NFL man you know how I feel I mean I made it because we had five games that’s the only if we’ had three I wouldn’t have made it we’ had four the individual to say like oh my goodness look who this is standing out on film where you can make yourself where you become more than just a number you need those games man you need the time to put your resume together and those those two three games during the preseason it does wonders for players and and and and and oo I was still in school so what a lot of guys a lot of guys were out of school and so they were in the offseason program man I’m trying to get my degree man I wasn’t dropping out of school h no I’m I’m too close now so I didn’t end up getting there till June and so the the OTAs were ending like the second week of June so I really only got two weeks of OTAs before I had to leave and go do my own thing and then come back but back then and they still do it now sometimes oo yeah we came in the rookies and the first year players had to come in like three days before the Vets got there and so we padding it up we hitting even before the actual training camp in which the Vets arrived oh yeah I don’t know how they do it now but I do see sometimes rookies report on this day and the events report on the later day but we putting pads on we doing 9 on S we doing everything that we’re going to do in training oh yes oh yes oh yes P pads pads pads nine on seven one on one the most we put on with shells remember the little shells the little shells we had that that was it man because I I had a few times well I I had a few times and obviously I can say it now some of the times when we would we would have to have on pads on a Wednesday practice I’d be out there in my shelves relationship and uh as a matter of fact every just like clockwork I might not hear from this man the entire year but when it’s my kids’s birthday I get a tech sweetheart tell he knows he remember my kids’s name happy birthday K happy birthday Kayla happy birthday uh offensive coordinator Co because Co was was my quarterback my first two years in Denver so obviously he and I had a great relationship he was the guy that would help me hey he’s coming in I’m coming he’s the backup he’s the backup quarterback I’m backup receiver he would come over to hey he called me greasy he said greasy you know what you got because I’m be looking for you now he said look it’s gonna be this coverage do this so he’s telling me what I need to do so I’ve always had a great relationship with him um and so he Mike was great but Dan no look Mike Mike was great I learned so much from Mike how to be a pro what it takes to win to really win um how to be unselfish do things for the betterment of the team but I don’t think any of that’s possible without Dan Reed because not only did Dan draft me he forgot to cut me and he believed in me he believed in me he told me he believed in me he told me that I was too big too fast too strong not to make a decent living in the NFL so for that I’ll be forever grateful but it was Mike that made me a champion and told me what it took to be a champion the work I had to work at the but the prep and the study and the attention to detail and the situation and that what he expect me what he expected of me held me to almost the standard in which I held myself but I I was very very fortunate to have to have a coordinator and position coach and a head coach that all my coaches were great uh way Phillips came after the Dan he was a d coordinator he was great but man I’ve been very very fortunate I I really didn’t have a whole lot of uh coaches that I bumped head with because oo I came to work yeah and I was a pro the way I approached the job and a professional because that was the job that I had M who’s your favorite coach oo I think my my favorite coach [Music] um I’ve had some good ones H I’ve had some good ones obviously when I was drafted to the drafted to the to the Bengals obviously dick Lao was a coach at the time and for anyone that’s ever had the opportunity to meet dick Lao you talk about one of the one of the nicest coolest gentleman though I’ve I’ve ever met I’ve ever met and I thought it it couldn’t get any better than him his presence uh obviously we weren’t winning at that time but just being able to be around dick and and hear some some of the stories that he told you know during those times during those days a legend a legend in his own right obviously my position coaches have had some great position coaches uh Steve musan uh Alex Wood uh Mike Shephard and obviously the one who meant the most to me and and had the most impact impact on my career on and off the field was Hugh Jackson Jack yeah Hugh Jackson man still to this day we we we keep in touch and and Mar I see it from time to time oh Jo I hear yeah I do I do yeah so um yeah Marvin Lewis obviously we we know how much how much he means to me and uh and Hugh Jackson have been huge huge huge Inspirations not just as coaches but off the field and some of my decision making some of my structure and discipline when it comes to the way I live the way I spend you know if you watch hard KNX and and Marvin kind of eluding to some of the things that I should do with my money um oh they they’ve been they’ve been fascinating and still to this day to be able to pick up the phone and call Hugh or call Marvin out the blue like this and they answer and pick up is it’s awesome it’s awesome The Real McCoy said oo does the man carry the shopping bags out with this lady or to go Food Bag if you’re out to dinner and she doesn’t finish her food man listen if I go shopping with real and she purchases anything I have the same rules for my kids if you buy it you carry it for my kids shopping if I buy something for you you carry it if we go somewhere to eat and you order that’s your and you take a doggy bag you carry your bag not not handicapped what is it this ain’t the 1600s about yeah I I I would you on that with oo I don’t like to go shopping so here I shop online anyway I don’t need to now unless I’m going to Target unless I’m going to Target or Walmart there’s really no need or H&M oh my bad or Zara there’s really no need to go or oh my bad Urban Outfitters there’s really no need to leave the house no need to leave the house if you know your sizes I probably haven’t been in a store and tried on something in a decade but you get everything custom made huh no if it’s something like she just have it sent to the house I try it on I like it not she send it back because she’s coming out here every you know 14 days 17 days she gonna come out she’ll send it back if I like it need alterations I have asot come over he’ll take it up we like that the vet comes when I was getting a massage the lady comes I go out to the guest house I get a massage oo literally I was like I wasn’t leaving to do anything I’m like I was just go I would just go to work and come home right and I’m like that was had even gotten and I could do the same thing over and over for years I can eat the same thing over and over for years we’re the same but that had got bored I was like oh no no no I got to get out of the house and do something on my own yeah yeah I’m a creature a habit like that as well obviously I’ve done the same thing consistently through through the years my routine hasn’t changed now what what I’ve had that what I’ve learned now obviously due to my situation and Circumstance I can get complacent with that routine at times I do have to switch things up and I think that’s one of the things I also need to need to work on because I’m so content and I am a creature habit yeah I I get in a certain pattern of doing the same thing over and over and over and over again so um that that’s that’s pretty much it I went a little too far and with personal [ __ ] we supposed to be talking about places we go yeah but that’s what I saying myself and being one of the few in that percentage that hasn’t so I I I want to do and take that same energy when it goes into that Union and not want to be a statistic in that area as well that’s great that’s great just want to work at it bro you got to work at a marriage just like you worked at your career you Tred to get better each and every day you try to get better each and every year if
