Drive for show, putt for show?

“It shows in the top 10 players in the world, they are all long.”

Cody Blick talking about the importance of club head speed and how the old saying “Drive for show, putt for dough” has flipped.

The college game keeps getting faster and faster and that will continue to push club head speed on the PGA TOUR higher and higher!

Cody is coming off his best finish of the year with a T3 on the Korn Ferry Tour

Cody has been working with SuperSpeed for several years as part of his pursuit to increase his club head speed.

yeah I think if you look at the guys on the PGA tour the average Club head speed on tour is 114 115 and it shows in the top 10 players in the world they’re they’re all long and the weeks they win they just happen to putt well but they’re always competing because they’re long I mean The Strokes gained off the tea is astronomical the old saying was always you know drive for show putt for dough and I think as much as it hurts me to say that because I’ve kind of identified with that but it’s it’s the opposite now and uh you know I’m I’m kind of jumping on board and distance is important and it shows in the stats and um The Game’s only going to get longer and you know I think I think last year was the the first year that D1 golf average Club head speed was faster than the PJ tour so we’re going to see we’re going to see a major change in golf coming here shortly

  1. Was playing a track that was setting up for NCAA Super Regional. One guy was on the driving range and completely cleared the range, hit a water storage tank and landed in the fairway in front of us. These young guys are crushing the ball!
