I’ll give you a lot of reasons why it went down and a lot of reasons why you shouldn’t even Panic plus I got a lot to talk about regarding tua’s contract because Jared go extension has impacted those numbers remember I told y all they were waiting on Dak well that flipped when golf got his money plus I’ll give you my early thoughts on the schedule since I haven’t wasn’t around all weekend to give mattina on a Saturday so got a lot to talk about a lot was going on obviously when I go away um we’re going to talk about the schedule we’re going to talk about a lot of Tu a talk today and all of had a fantastic vacation with the family feeling recharged feeling a little rejuvenated I’ll tell you yesterday I got home I had a package that was being delivered on Tuesday your boy ordered some optic Don Ross optic football someone stole your boy Bo package off the front porch um we have a cat our cat sitter brought in the package my wife says to me she says yeah she brought in the package and it was in a Walmart bag and I was like in a Walmart bag man they usually deliver in like manila envelopes what do you mean so I get home I like four books in the bag like the Archer tail and something traveler and all so someone either my purat guy or the person at the sorting facility straight up jacked my straight up Jack jacked my package so cuz I don’t think some random person in the neighborhood is going to jack my package and then put a bag a Walmart bag with books in it they’re just going to take the package and dip so C the neighbors got some uh cameras so going to check out that footage this weekend so man your boy might be out $200 so that’s uh not something great to come home to but I want to also say man I was itching to go live this past week while I was in to can man I’ll tell you I was I was feeling the sun drinking my Miami Vices but I was ready to go live when the schedule hit and then when yesterday’s news broke I man I was you know it wasn’t the sun tan I was itching to go live so um we got a lot to go into today um listen Dean you watch people who don’t even spit facts and you come over here and you have the audacity to say to me don’t say anything watching see this is why listen I tell you this this is why just because people have platforms doesn’t mean they should just because people voice their opinions doesn’t mean they’re worth any of your time to listen to cuz you got people out or straight don’t know what they’re talking about stagnant huh you got a guy who’s gotten better every single year to the point where in year four he led the league in passing in year four we finally got a healthy season out of we talking about stagnant tuong of aloa takes a step forward every single year he’s one of the hardest workers in the room what are we talking about stagnant with two a tongue of aloa so you got people out out here I mean who don’t know how to evaluate players let alone know how to watch properly properly watch film out here calling this guy stagnant I don’t know what they’re talking about okay guys got better every single year so that’s absolute nonsense all right another thing I want to I want to cover here I heard the every time e every time last August when me and the family go away to the Bahamas Paradise Island you know I’m sitting on the beach I’m getting info CU of Jonathan Taylor stuff going on but I always lay receipts right I lay my receipts cuz I got the info before anyone that Green Bay was the mystery team that was in on Jonathan Taylor put it out to Neil put it out to em put it out to my homie Anthony and you had people out here who heard Neil reference me saying that and then trying to Jack that story and run with it themselves we had it the toen this time again all right so I’m sitting you know sipping my Miami Vice and I gu a text message from the homie Bobby show and I’m like okay what’s up I check my phone and locked on commanders right part of the locked on commanders locked on network sorry the locked on Commander show part of the locked on network they’re running with this little story um that basically running with what we talked about last Thursday me Neil it had already been up on the patreon it had already been up for YouTube channel members prior to that but then we did a a show on it last Thursday about are the Dolphins exploring the trade market and we went into details that what we were hearing was they’ve had discussion with the Washington commanders I almost called them the Redskins the commanders right so sitting there listening to this and we got other people being sourced some Washington reporter sourced Omar listen I don’t know whether Omar Kelly be watching my show well I know he’d probably be watching my show or whatever and be running with that taking it to other people but listen I hit up watching the locked on commanders I hit up the host of the show I said no no no no no no no this story comes from us but I got something deeper everyone is just running with Jonathan Allen now go back and watch the show go back and watch the show I did not say they were in trade discussions with Jonathan Taylor what I theorized was it could be Jonathan Taylor because he’s on the trade block all I can confirm is that discussions between the parties have happened that’s literally all I can confirm that the Washington commanders the Miami Dolphins have had trade discussions I can’t confirm who the discussions were about I can’t confirm if they were about draft picks none of that all I can confirm is that talks have happened and that’s what we said when we went live last Thursday but people are running with the Jonathan Allen aspect of the story so I I just theorized Jonathan Allen I did not say it was for Jonathan Allen so I have to make this very clear because you know God gives people two you know a set of ears but a lot of people don’t know how to use them properly apparently go back and listen to the show I theorized Jonathan Allen I did not say they were trading for Jonathan Allen all right that’s who my theory was now for all I know they could be trying to trade for freaking D Dam the discussions could have been about dami Brown for all I know but I did not sit here and say Jonathan Allen was in the trade discussion I suggested that all right again hearing is key hearing is vital right so I don’t know some people need to go get hearing aids I don’t know what’s going or their you know attention span needs to be expanded I I don’t know what’s going on but I did not say that I said discussions have happened and I theorized Jonathan Allen that’s that’s the end of that all right now as far as the schedule and I’m going to get into more details the schedule a little later here um you know I you know me and Al talked about I keep going back to it I mean you know I saw some stat that Vegas the Jets have the most bets placed on them to be a 14- win team in what world do we not remember the absolute nose dive off the cliff Brett Favre did after he ruptured his Achilles in Minnesota do we not remember at age 31 the decline that ruptured Achilles started for Marino I mean what are we talking about here in terms of the big bats scary Jets who’s afraid of the Jets someone explained to me who’s afraid of the Jets Jets fans are more afraid of the Jets I mean Aaron roders is playing behind an offensive line that’s going to have him running for his life like last year and he’s coming off a ruptured Achilles and he plays on the worst field possible for players in the NFL how many torn ACLs or you know torn mcls how many how or ruptured Achilles how many injuries do we see happen on that medlie field who’s to say this guy’s even going to be healthy by the time we face him for a second time this year I A lot of people are putting way too much stock into this Knight says the tribal CH Chief has spoken Dean acknowledge Him for real Neil brought the original trade up during a Twitter space on draft day one with Washington Twitter is terrible it’s what it is they spin things around that’s what they do Robert Thomasson you a lying you ain’t lying Robert thinon says Met Live aka the rock pile that’s it Hammer’s kitten is afraid of the Jets I sure I mean I don’t think my cat’s afraid of the Jets I’m not going to lie to you so I I don’t get the whole fear-mongering over the Jets with the media now they do have one thing working in their favor in terms of easy schedules they’re pretty much up there they have one of the easier schedules in the NFL so I mean I get that I guess you know what I mean um you know the first five weeks they have one of the easiest schedules in the and and the NFL and overall you know I think they have like the fourth hardest schedule right now in the NL so I mean they got that working for them but again here this is where I keep going back to what is it two is 11 and six in the AC East in his career correct so ironically all six losses have happened to the Buffalo Bills which is crazy so basically he’s 11 and0 against the rest of the AFC East see this is where I’m going here two absolutely torches that you talked to a Jets fan Elite Jets defense absolutely torches them Wadd gives sauce problems Tyreek sauce problems we torch them see that’s the thing Aaron Rogers is going to have to put up points even if he’s healthy to stand a chance to beat us because you know Tu a Tong of aloa plays with the type of confidence against the Jets we would like to see him consistently play with against the bills now albeit even I’ll correct myself in 2022 people told me Tua couldn’t play in the cold Tua couldn’t play in the snow and to was one of the best players on the field in Buffalo in December in 2022 if Tyreek or Trent sherfield don’t drop those touchdowns we win that game if Josh Boer and his defense don’t give up the third and 17 and then the eventual touchdown to before the end of the half on that drive to the bills we win that game Tu tangal was pretty much lights out in that game so we know he has it in him it’s the same reason why people are sitting here wh what are people scared listen no one in this community promoted Jordan love back in 2020 except this guy okay I said you either draft Tua because burrow will be off the board you either draft because I was a burrow Tua and Jordan love guy Burl will be off the board so I said you draft Tua or you trade back you draft Jordan love but you have to properly develop him go back the receipts are all over the Tuesday night panel whatever you know I used to argue with people in the chat because people the CH oh look at his interception go look at Marino’s last numbers in pit this is what I said exact quote based on what all y’all were saying in the chat the NFL right now but I digress my whole point is Thanksgiving why is everyone worried about this is that Green Bay team much better than they were a few years ago when Aaron roders left well sorry was still there before he left is it really that better of a team and guess what before the concussion in that game T was on was on Pace to blow out Aaron Rogers and the Packers and then the concussion happened so I I don’t understand what people are worried about with Thanksgiving now I get it okay it’s prime time it’s going to be November how cold is it going to be in Lambo we’re not talking about like December January weather here so a lot of people panicking you know we’ll go over the schedule here in a little bit listen I I don’t know how you look at the schedule and and not have a hard time trying to find four or five losses like that that’s that’s the problem I’m looking at the schedule I’m like man I don’t even see four or five losses here and I’m not even trying to be a homer I legitimately don’t legitimately don’t like I think this is a three to four lost team and now night you brought it up and I will agree with you you said the back half of the schedule those last six games will tell us who this team is but we said that last year too right we said the last five games of that schedule would tell us who this team is they beat Dallas we thought they were turning the corner we saw how that went right so listen I’m not over here stressing I still think you know listen if you can keep four of those five offensive linemen healthy we’re cooking baby we are cooking Alf made a great point on the show I did with him the fact you have jonu Smith right who can reasonably with his speed reasonably match Tyreek kill and Waddles routes we’ve never had a tit end that could do that now add obj to that Frey safeties are not going to be able to cheat to Tyreek or Wadd they won’t be there’s not a slow guy in the scam anymore coming at you and add on obj we’re going to be keeping safeties freaking honest with what with what they’re putting together and I think again it’s going to be another year of what does Mike McDaniel do and how does he adjust when teams and defenses start adjusting to what we do we’ve been hyping him up about having tricks in the bag for adjustments this year he’s going to have Tua has to take a step and so does Mike McDaniel so let’s get into this we got a lot to cover we got a lot to go into and it’s going to be a lot of Tua to start this off so let’s start off with I’ll read the article we’ll get into it and we’ll go from there CBS they dropped this article yesterday Tu Tong of aloa has been mostly absent from Dolphins activities as Miami QB looks for next this is going to be a fun show guys because we’re about to absolutely destroy this narrative the Miami Dolphins will begin team drills on Monday as part of their voluntary organized team activities and it’s unclear whether starting quarterback to tongo will be a part of them Tung valo has been absent from the majority of voluntary offseason work since the Dolphins reported back April 15th sources close to the situation told CBS that is in stark contrast to his first four seasons in the league when tangoa was present for most of the voluntary workout sources believe his absence is related to his contract status tangaloa the fifth overall selection of the 2020 NFL draft is currently set to play the 2024 season on his fifth year option worth 23.7 one million the Alabama alumnus has hoped for a long-term extension with the dolphins but one is not materialized to date we’ll go over factors of why after this too don’t worry the going rate for today’s NFL franchise quarterbacks is around 50 million per year to a Tong of is scheduled to less make less than half that in 2024 with no security beyond the season last year Tong ofo played in all 17 games a career first he made his first Pro Bowl after passing for career high 46 and 20 4624 yards notice how they don’t say that was they say it was a career high that was a career high in League leading notice how they leave that League leading part out you notice how they leave that out they leave leave that part that he led the league out notice that huh um and stting his first playoff game a 267 loss to Kansas City in Frid Arrowhead sport interceptions were tied for the fourth most in the league with Patrick Mahomes and Trevor Lawrence like we said we wouldn’t talk throughout the season in terms of contract stuff but we’ve stayed in touch with his agent had good conversations throughout the year Chris Greer told reporters in January we never talk about money or anything just good conversation about where he is in the relationship with Mike and the team here and everything is done so the goal is to have here long-term playing at a high level that’s always the goal and we’ll continue to communicate with him through the offseason here tangoa just completed his 4year 3.27 5 million rookie contract last March the Dolphins quickly picked up his fifth year option locking him into a 2024 deal worth 23171 million G guaranteed money but there were and possibly are questions about his durability um and then it just goes into all this all you know okay goes into all like we picking up the F all this Jack and Compares and the Jared golf extension which matters 212 Million worth 170 in guarantee so let’s talk about this okay okay let’s get the first thing out of the way the last four seasons right right he’s had even when I I’ve posted up here proof that he’s had a quarterback coach before all right that was through through his relationship with perform um and his working with perform was all Florida based all right all of his you know outside of the facility training happened in Florida what’s changed I’ll tell you what’s changed you know what’s changed he’s working with 3dqb now why is that an issue well it’s not an issue but why does that matter it’s in California people right he’s got to get on a plane what do you think this guy goes flies first thing in the morning does a 6 eight hour session then flies back are people that naive are are we really that naive I like how that got left out of the whole article okay that’s that matters he just doesn’t stop working with them because there’s a key word in all this voluntary voluntary this is not mandatory if he’s skipping training camp if he’s holding out of training camp and holding out out of mandatory mini camp which we’ll get to in a sec here then you can okay raise your eyebrows the guy’s got to fly all the way to California to work with Tom house and John Beck in 3dqb what do you think he makes a one day trip out of it no you’re going to make a multiple day trip out of that to get work it like what are we even saying here you know these people are so quick they want to break the story they want to get their clicks off his name that they don’t even do a little research sure is the lack of contract motivating him to show up for voluntary workouts probably not but at the same point that doesn’t mean he’s not working on his craft you want a few examples don’t worry I got you now I was not here for rookie mini camp my boys out there were balling though so let’s let’s let’s keep it going let let’s let’s let’s look at this okay let’s go chronologically for a second here okay let’s start off Chron let’s go chronologically all right now who remembers this article from the Palm Beach Post right this is from April 11th 2024 all right let’s read this at one point he eded a phrase in Samo and then translated it quote that means that means the pathway to leadership is through service he said and for everyone that’s here this is their service this is their service by giving back not expecting anything in return all this while his agent and the Dolphins continue talks on contract extension the fact No Deal has been struck yet isn’t going to stop him from participating in the offseason program just quote just letting my agent deal with that and talk to the team about that he said for me my focus is OTAs is when OTAs come Goa o go to OTAs show up and be the best teammate I can be right there he said I’m going to OTAs what are we talking about they’re trying to make something huge oh he’s holding out because he didn’t go to voluntary workouts and we’re going to get even better than that don’t worry I ain’t done disproving this all right just show you how exaggerated this is okay from his mouth I’m going to OTAs from his mouth but it doesn’t stop there all right let’s keep it rolling April 15 2024 remember they just referenced April 15 2024 in the freaking article what’s this I don’t know this looks like two is showing up to the facilities no even Marcel Lou jocks like look what Marcel Lou Jo said speaking of the Tua Foundation Lu last week Tu Tong said regardless of his contract status he would show up to the Dolphins offseason events namely OTAs OTAs aren’t until May but two is present for Miami’s first day in the offseason program what are we saying right now please please someone please what are we talking about right now you see like look even said back like never left yeah like huh I just you know I I I don’t even know what else to say you know you got mandatory min campus June 4th to 6th right you got onfield practice sessions May 20th 21st the 23rd and the 28th and 29th and the 31st OTAs right so he he’s not hasn’t even been proven to be a liar yet OTAs start on Monday like and I’m not done by the way so we’re not done disproving this Knight says plus two young todders and has been at meetings as well exactly and we’ll get into that but look it they referenced April 15th in that article right and it gets even better Le let’s go even further than that shall we shall we let’s go even further than that April 19th 4 days after he showed up to the first day here he is top left corner it’s even on the thumbnail there he is throwing top left corner there he is there he is right there so we’ve got him coming to the facilities for the first day on the 15th we’ve got him throwing on the 19th I mean what are we saying here like what are we saying here and it gets even better I’m not done oh boy I’m not done I am not done we are far from done on that let’s keep going let’s go to Let’s fast forward to rookie mini camp where obviously Tu didn’t have to be because he wasn’t a rookie let’s listen to what Malik Washington who I’ve told y’all he’s GNA Ball even with the addition of obj Malik Washington is gonna ball this year my friends y’all know how much I love this pick y’all know how much I love this player he gonna ball let’s watch here pass in the NFL he does his job uh the 10 guys around him do their job and so I got to be one of those 10 guys that just come in uh make sure I’m on time make sure I am where I’m supposed to be and make make him right has he reached out to you at all he crafted you know trying to maybe set up any sort of session or training practice with you yeah I got a chance to throw him a little bit uh earli in the week but really good dude you know does things right I’m excited to see what it you know what this leads to that’s all your Malik he Malik Washington literally right there telling all of y’all yeah I threw with him right rookie mini camp if you look at rookie mini camp that was going on last weekend while I was away right so what does that tell you first week of May Tu a Tango was throwing with Malik Washington does that sound like a guy who’s about to hold out does that sound like a guy who’s about to hold out we draft a guy in April 25th on WE drao the guy on between April 25th and the 27th he’s throwing with them within within a week week and a half what are we talking about here so now we’ve got him showing up to the first day of the offseason program we’ve got him throwing four days later we’ve got him throwing with rookie receivers after we draft them it gets even better though I’m not done obj we added obj right check this clip out from drive time with him and Travis listen to what obj says um but we sat up there and watch film for an hour half and we were just talking about you know the plays in my career and how you’re catching and run away and I’m watching all the plays you know V and Tariq and it’s it’s a lot of everything that’s on timing you know like real football detailed stuff that happens catching the ball and you you know you’re catching it out of your break that’s when you have the most separation you catch it now I’m catching it I got two yards to run away and you know they were just telling me how accurate he is how good of a ball he throws you know all of those things so I’m super excited about it I met him today so he met Tua Tua was in the facility and met with obj before his presser does this sound like a guy who’s about to hold out he’s there to meet obj before his presser and link up with him does this sound like a guy who’s about to hold out we have now placed him in the building dating back to you know at least four or five times in the last month that’s on record but this sounds like a guy who’s people want to tell y’all he’s about to hold out are we serious right now like what are we doing who are we trying to pull the wool over the eyes of tell me it was to a stunt doubled the away and they’re identical you know what I’m saying like what were we talking about do these people think we’re dumb and we don’t follow this team I I don’t get this you know if a guy was skipping the majority of the of the offseason workout would he be in the building to meet obj all right would he be taking the rookie receivers out and throwing with them after we drafted them would he go on record telling everyone yeah I’m going to OTAs at is luau he’s not GNA say that not you up to a Tong below is the last guy that wants to get viewed as a liar because of his Christian background like what are we doing here we got the social media team putting out pictures of him on April 19th we got him showing up to the facility day one of the offseason program on April 15th again why is he missing time because he’s got to fly all the way to California to work out with 3dqb again is he overly motivated without a contract to show up to voluntary key word workouts probably not but it’s not like he’s just sitting at home me in a bag of laed potato chips and saying yeah I ain’t going till you pay me the guy’s meeting up with the new additions in the wide receiver room whether they’re drafted or a free agent and the guy is going and working on his craft in California and again do you think think he’s going to fly from Miami to Florida sorry from Miami Florida all the way to California just for a day and then fly back do y’all really think that’s happening that’s like a 5 and a half hour 6 hour flight that’s like a five and a half hour to six hour flight no you’re gonna fly out there right and you’re gonna put in some days of work and then you’re gonna fly back again when he was working strictly with perform and when he was working with the first quarterback coach he had through perform through his relationship with perform it was all Florida based he could drive could drive around do the Hops you can’t do that now that you’re working with guys out in Cali but no one’s taking this into consideration not one person is taking this into consideration it’s absolutely mindboggling absolutely mind-boggling that it just flies over people’s heads like come on man like story was leaked to the press to try and put the pressure on the Dolphins to get a deal done that’s what that’s what’s going down right now this is athletes first at work and I’m going explain why remember I told you I heard athletes first was waiting all of a sudden they were getting they were working working working Miami was confident they would get something done before the trade deadline and then everything halted before the um new season opened and free agency opened and then everything halted and I told all y’all it’s because they what the the they heard the Rumblings of Dak Prescott’s contract right then what happened then we all Jerry Jones came out and said yeah we’re not doing a new contract right that went and then all of a sudden what did we hear on ESPN in these Outlets oh the Dolphins and two of back to working on a contract you know they’re back and working on a contract extension blah blah blah blah blah right well Jared goff’s deal threw a wrench in it that’s the deal now so he signed that fouryear 212 million right 73 million signing bonus 17.6 million guaranteed I have been told by someone in the know in NFL media connected to the NFL media that they’re coming for gol’s number all right um I I’ve heard you know the average salary for golf is about 53 and I’ve heard they’re aiming for 53 to 55 that’s what I heard while I was on vacation actually I got this information like while I yesterday um you know I know you guys have seen that Pretty Ricky account on some of you have seen that Pretty Ricky account on Twitter the guy’s 100% accurate side note I know who Pretty Ricky is but anyways the guy Pretty Ricky he’s been breaking stuff not just dolphin stuff but NFL news before shefer and before Rapaport he quote tweeted Omar Kelly from people I’ve talked to I can confirm he’s 110% accurate about to his contract situation they are coming for gos number I’ve heard between 53 to 55 million is what they’re coming for that is the number they are eyeing they didn’t get Dak who was looking for like 60-ish million but they got goth and they’re and I know people are going to say well goff’s won been to Super Bowl with LA he’s won Playoff games listen you’re not lying I’m not here to say you’re wrong because you’re not wrong but I’m here to tell you what they’re coming for the guy just led the league in passing in his first healthy season they’re sitting there saying this guy’s going to continue to be healthy he’s going to lead the league again potentially I mean there’s a good shot to a tongoa is you know wins he’s been in the MVP race the last two years first year with McDaniel he’s in it until he got hurt last year he was in it till the Ravens lost basically there’s a very good chance you could win the MVP this year now that we’ve added obj and John who Smith and we’ve upgraded the running back room with Jaylen Wright and I keep telling all y’all I want to pay pay first of all I a your money second of all okay he’s asking for 53 to 55 right now cool beans the cap goes up 30 million next year he’s in the MVP race again buddy that is now a 60 million plus set tag he wins the MVP we win some playoff games you’re talking about like a 65 million tag now because now there’s no argument you can use Scotty’s got a right all you got to care about is the guaranteed money and we’re going to get into that Scotty so this matters man goff’s deal has impacted Tu a tangaloa from what I understand notice how quickly all of a sudden this story came out after Goff got extended because they ain’t happy that golf got extended before Tua did shout out to hammer with the $10 donation appreciate you homie and they’re coming for it they are coming for it and if this guy goes out and is in the MVP race again let alone wins it and then wins us a few playoff games you’re talking about a 65 million tag now annual average that extra 10 million is a good player you could have two right now and a good player next year or all that money allocated towards Tua and with WD Holland and Phillips do up every dollar counts see here’s the interesting thing right good question Deonte good question I like good question brother all right let’s do some math with Deonte because he’s actually a very good question so what percentage would 55 million be of the cap right now right it’s about 215% this year of the cap now let’s say the cap goes up 30 million next year all right so now it goes up to about 285 million now you’re at 19.2% it’s gone down 2% with a 30 million increase now let’s say we go it’s supposed to go up 90 million over the next 3 years okay so let’s add year two of let’s add the second let’s add 2026 okay so when it’s about 315 all right right 285 next year 315 the year after now we are at 17.5% of the cap all right now let let’s add the final year of that 90 million right so let’s add three years from now so now we are at about 30 what 45 million so that is 16% so this year he takes up 21 year one is 21 and a half percent right but that would have to be like this year which the contract wouldn’t kick in right because that wouldn’t kick in until next year this is fifth year option so next year 55 million hit on a 285 cap he would be 19.3% of the cap year two of his contract right year two of that on about 315 17.5 year three of his new contract and remember this contract gives us cap relief this year too so another bonus but and then year three of that contract when the money’s actually hitting the books you’re at about 16% so it keeps going going going down people aren’t people here’s the problem people are thinking too much in the moment and not down the line and he’s going to have restructures great question Deonte so that’s how you got to think of this man round of golf the post which tagged the Dolphins team account revealed he shot a 94 scored not many n his golfers are capable of achieving his partner that day Dolphins quarterback to a tongue below shot 86 the scorecards however weren’t as important as Ramsey’s message written at the bottom of the scorecard pay Tua right I keep talking about notice how Tua you know we’ve gone back since Hard Monday to a four-year extension 212 million giving Tu a Tong of valow and the Dolphins another reference point for negotiations so does a contract for tuango mean the richest deal in NFL history seasons makes his contract understandable no player in the Super Bowl era has thrown for more yards in the first four seasons than Herbert’s 17 1,223 yards tongoa also comes with injury concerns and this is where I think we start to get into what the hitch is that I’m talking about okay tongva comes with injury concerns he missed 11 games during his first three seasons the general R of thumb is as players get older they don’t get more durable as Source familiar with front office operations told ESPN generally speaking if you’ve been hurt before you’re going to get hurt again Tua to play the entire year this year deserves a ton of credit I’m just glad I’m not the one signing off on paying him Tong of low confronted his durability concerns with a uh breakf Jiu-Jitsu training program last offseason coupled with a physical transformation he bulked up to 238 PBS before cutting down to 225 by training camp it worked played all 18 games for the Dolphins in 20123 on route to a career season his contemporaries got off to Stronger starts to their careers but Tango’s first few years in Miami were marked by a lack of continuity the Dolphins cycled through three offensive coordinators and two six overall in 2019 has career stats comparable to Tong bowas albe it with 19 fewer touchdown passes and three more interceptions despite playing in seven more games but he never played a full season or surpassed 4,000 passing yards as Tong of aloa did 2023 he signed a 4-year 160 million extension last off season on the other end Herbert drafted one spot ahead of Tua in 2020 uh I think he meant behind Tua not ahead was named offensive rookie of the year that season he played he’s played in nine more games over the past four seasons has 114 touchdown passes Tong belows 81 and nearly 5,000 more career passing yards his size and arm Talent make his 262 million extension relatively easy decision for the Chargers I sleep better at night knowing we have a franchise quarterback Tom Tesco said the general manager of the Chargers Jones and Herbert could represent the floor and ceiling respectively for Tong’s contract where negotiations often stall or come to crawl according to source of knowledge of these type of negotiations is determining the guaranteed money involved the average per year is a deal that you could kind of figure out 52 53 54 a front office source told ESPN I think you could figure that part out the guarantees with these deals are extraordinarily hard to get done the an average annual values of burrows herberts and Herz contracts are separated by 4 million their total guarantees however range from 219 for burrow to 193.75 for Herz that’s where things get complicated for a player like Tong of aloa who and this is what the I’m telling you this is what the hiccup is right um this is where things get compated for complicated for tuang Vala where injuries are well documented despite remaining healthy in 2023 as is the case with nearly every NFL contract there will likely be a difference between total guaranteed money tongo receives which is not injury protected and the fully guaranteed money he receives Herbert’s extension including included 93.7 million total guarantees but only 133.7k a source familiar with contract negotiations of these type says the Dolphins will likely attach bonuses to their offer that protects themselves while rewarding tongoa for continued durability signing bonus base salary workout bonus per game bonus that’s something the Dolphins are going to want to put in the contract the contract advisor said per game roster bonus is high because of his health but the agent side will B at it see that’s and I’m going to stop here because we don’t get into very much but that’s what I think is holding this up if you want me to put a thumb on something if you want me to point to something that is what I think is the that’s what I think the stall is you know I I think it’s they want to put incentives in to protect themselves and rightfully so but it’s about the total guarantees and the full guaranteed and the incentives to get to the total guarantees like I I can almost guarantee they that makes a ton of sense the roster per game bonus like they’re going to have game time incentives and games played incentives and they should locked into this contract to protect themselves and I can and even read that what did it say per game roster bonus is high because of his health but the agent side will BK at it that’s what I think you’re up against I think I I know the framework has pretty much been laid out for quite some time now I think it’s what they’re talking about when you’re getting into the finer details of the contract the incentives the roster bonuses the guarantees that’s what I think is holding up that’s what I think has stalled this and then on top of that you have other guys coming out here and getting new money that setting a precedent for them I.E golf with this 53 per year so I think that’s what’s holding up I think I don’t say that’s the only thing but that’s one of the things holding up now I’m going to give my quick thoughts on the schedule because um I didn’t have a chance to this week because obviously it was away here’s a schedule all right now how do you look at this and find I hear people saying we’re going nine and eight or eight and N where the hell are the eight losses coming from where are the N someone tell me where these eight or nine losses I got like I’m GNA tell you right now without sitting here and studying I mean this team they might not suffer their first loss till week nine realistic ically I don’t think we’re getting swept by the bills Curtis Samuel and and Keon Coleman are you serious right now we got that on lockdown there that’s going to be the Dalton King cage show and we’ve upgraded the second level with our linebacking crew where we can take on a guy like dton King Kade now like I just the only I see a loss in week nine that’s the first loss the other loss I see is probably maybe week 16 now I got a problem trying to pick that third one I don’t think we lose to Green Bay I don’t think we lose to the Rams maybe but do we lose one to the 49ers I got a problem seeing the other one I’m sorry I mean sure could Houston give us problems 110% but CJ Stroud could also go through a sophomore slump and then what and then when you dive deeper into the schedule let’s dive deeper into the schedule here I mean we’ve got the fifth easiest schedule through the first five weeks what what’s what what are we talking about here I really think this team I really think this team they could go into that byee with a perfect record I I just do not see a loss until that trip to Buffalo maybe and when you go based on Vegas and their forecasted wind [Music] totals the Miami Dolphins overall they have the eighth easiest schedule right they got the they got the E EAS schedule right there well I mean look it the the Patriots have the 31st the bills have the 23rd now the Jets have the fourth so I just don’t see what did you think there’s going to be a complete implosion on this team I don’t see it now what’s very interesting when you break down this schedule is this the second most total mile mileage in the NFL this year just about just under a, miles less than the Chargers who sit at number one now the Chargers also got to go through 36 time zones so that sucks but that’s what happens when you play on the west coast but I mean same thing with Seattle look at 28 time zones they play on the west coast San Francisco West Coast 28 time zones Los Angeles 26 West Coast Las Vegas west coast 34 right the only East Coast team that really has is is New England and the Jets but we’re traveling the second most mileage so what are we going to say we GNA have travel fatigue is that the new is that the new game so I don’t know man I got a hard time looking at that schedule and being pessimistic I ain’t going to lie to you chip on the shoulder after what happened last year now what sucks okay you know prime time we got five Prime Time games and three of them are on the road now why do I say that we’re not the greatest Prime Time team under the Mike McDaniel era we’re just not um um you know against having prime time in week two against the bills right not only are you on a short week but also your little advantage of the sun is pretty much taken away now the listen those last six weeks you know four of those six are on the road you got to go to Green Bay for Thanksgiving you got to go to Houston in week 15 you got to go to Cleveland for Sunday Night Football in week 17 which is going to be cold and then the Jets game in week 18 you got to go to New York you got to play on that crappy field Etc so there’s a few caveats the last six games are really good you know we said it last year with the last five games right the last six games are going to show us what this team is made of but I I could very well see them heading into that week n matchup with the Buffalo Bills right what I at worse six and one we ain’t losing to the Jags to open the season at home I think we beat the bills I don’t think we
