hey Rick open me you won’t be disappointed I’ve been sent this box I’ve honestly got no idea what is in it it just says Hardy golf we’ve not researched it or anything we’re literally going to open it now effectively live on air welcome back to the hit Channel everybody um I’m intrigued that line has just got me hey Rick open me you won’t be disappointed I’ve no idea if this is going to be a driver a putter a wedge your training aid I’m guessing it’s a golf club hence the golf club box let’s see what’s inside it I got sent some random oh it’s oh it’s short it is it’s got a very fancy grip look at [Music] that it’s like like um almost like is it Mexican themed where it’s like the kind of schools with the uh the artwork work on it that’s pretty cool I’ve got a letter I’m keeping you in suspense here Hardy golf my name is Greg James I’m guessing not the radio presenter an engineer huge golf Enthusiast living in Lancaster okay we’ll come on we’ll come on to a little bit that in a bit inside look at this nothing else left in there well so far I am impressed I am uh obviously I need to cut off these these bits let me cut these off obviously a bit of protection there for his beloved Golf Club get rid of all this stuff I must admit I think putter would have been my last guess potentially look at that FR aad cover that’s pretty impressive Hardy golf is the guy called no he’s called Greg James don’t know where Hardy comes from underneath I’m guessing it’s a butter it is this is a self-manufactured [Music] putter it says on it it’s balanced I’m guess it’s face balanced no it’s tow hang I don’t know what to expect with this uh I’ll tell you what I’ll do I’ll uh I’ll jump out on the golf course at Marriott and give this a review that was a surprise okay so after reading the letter that Greg sent me about this putter I’ve learned quite a bit he’s a oneman band as to be honest you think about it Scotty Cameron at some stage would have been a oneman band and he’s designed this Putter and built it himself at the moment he’s got it priced at £350 which is very expensive but I suppose if it’s taken him weeks and weeks to build you know you’ve got to somehow put a price to it what is interesting I mean the head cover is really funky you know that is a very cool design uh the putter itself obviously you can tell it’s been handmade even like some of the edges are super super super sharp however the attention to detail is vast like it it is very very well detailed the other thing is the putter head is heavy like that is a heavy putter head actually swings quite nicely it’s a bit of a bit of an unusual shaped putter um it’s it’s brilliant for scooping up the golf balls and I think it would be a wonderful bottle opener if you ever need one out on the cup maybe that’s another function to it who knows um and the idea it’s supposed to be balanced funky grip KBS shaft very heavy weight this is my first ever put with the Hardy putter let’s see how it rolls [Music] there’s two things to know the sound it sounds like a almost a traditional ping putter where ping actually got his name from it’s a real loud Ting and also there’s literally zero degrees of Loft on that putter now often if you weren’t aware there’s about anywhere between 3 to 5° of Loft on a putter that literally has got I can’t see any Loft on it at all um thing is it’s not quite balanced apparently it’s close to face balanced so it’s supposed to prevent twisting as much as possible I just personally I just don’t see who would take a gamble of spending £350 on this that’s my only thing cuz obviously you’ve got Putters like Odyssey I mean Scotty Cameron you might not quite be able to get a Scotty Cameron for 350 um you know you’ve got like Ping Putters for that price you got even row Putters so much more Market and research has got into those Putters see if you can pick up the sound of this no probably too short shot let me hit a few more PS and I’ll give it a bit of a [Music] verdict because it’s not got a lot of Loft I feel like the first part of the put like almost skids quite a lot Loft on a putter just encourages that roll kind of gets gets the ball out of its little indentation and gets it to roll quicker feels like it skids for quite a long way before it starts to roll this putter actually feels okay it does um I wouldn’t say it’s perfectly balanced as I mentioned just a minute ago but ites actually feel off the face actually quite a nice feel okay so there’s two things I’ve learned from this kind of review this test number one I’m partial to a bit of box baiting if you send me a box and it’s got the fact you’ll I’ll be surprised in that box I’m probably more likely going to open it the second thing I’ve learned is how incredible can someone be to make a putter like this like one man band to make something that’s so I me quite artistic is it a good putter it’s not great it’s not great and it’s not going to stand out enough like it’s not special enough to penetrate the market it’s got a fancy head cover a fancy grip it’s got quite a cool story that was kind of manmade but for 350s I just don’t see anybody that’s going to put it you know risk paying something like that that price tag for a putter they’re not sure about who knows down the line Hardy might be the big name in putter technology might overtake Scotty Cameron my prediction is this a bit of a hobby that might fizzle out at some point guys thanks for watching stay tuned lots more to come and again I’ve been box Bait Box baited
