good morning everybody somehow Clayton Andrews ended up in the game last night but that’s not what concerns me what concerns me is how he ended up on the Yankees 5’6 27 career erra 6 ER in the minor [Music] leagues we got a guy who’s 5 foot6 with a triple a erra of 6.6 garbage we got a couple of voicemails like that so it’s just baffling because the only way that that guy gets in the game is if Aaron Boone is asleep because once you bring Gaber Torres to the plate with a chance to make it a one-run game you’ve got to get a high leverage relief pitcher up because you got a chance to win the game and then when he hits the ball out of the ballpark you make a call to the bullpen and you say hey you’re coming in hurry up get ready there’s no way that Andrews should have been in the game it’s just a bonehead Mistake by Aaron Boone well that was a [ __ ] loss let’s hope uh we can rebound these next two games and uh split this series uh otherwise not a good way to a home not a good end to a home stand honestly if there ever was a must-win this is the first actual must- win for the Yankees this year um can’t lose three out of four to Baltimore and then either get swept or lose three out of four to Seattle it’s great to beat up on the good teams and or beat up on the bad teams and win games you should but eventually we got to beat good teams if we want ring 28 this year go Yanks interesting perspective I don’t know if I would call it a must win I would say the urgency to win should be elevated they should definitely try to avoid losing a series at home to the Mariners and go all out over the next couple of games but to say it’s a must-win I think it’s a little bit early for that you do have a West Coast Swing coming up it would be nice to finish off the home stand feeling good so that the flight out there is positive and that everybody has you know Positive Vibes headed to San Diego this weekend but I wouldn’t say it’s a must- win it’s close though oh this is what boom does uh he must give away about five or six games like this during the season they got right back in the ball game and they put some guy to just they just called up uh that’s why I have no faith in the Yankees with Boon as a manager uh number two Yankees cannot hit good pitching and I know that’s that goes with other teams also and that’s why they don’t win in the playoffs you know good pitching almost always beats good hitting and in the playoffs you tend to have the best pitching and so a lot of teams get shut down by great pitching in the playoffs that’s why you know teams that are the hottest or get the lucky breaks are often the teams that win in the postseason many playoff games are decided late by the bullpens not just the starting pitchers last year teams even used openers in the World Series so not every pitcher you’re going to face in the postseason is an ace I wouldn’t make too many projections about what this team is going to do in the playoffs based on what they did on a May 2 game against a fresh young 24y old pitcher who is just coming off the injured list and on a heater pitching wise but yeah they’re going to struggle against Great pitching everybody does the the objective of building a roster is to have as many good players as you can so that somebody can run into one against these good pitchers Seattle’s pitching was um was awesome it shut down the Yankee bats unfortunately um but uh on the other hand um you know we keep getting these two out hits and then um you know it just seems like first batter strikeout second B you know whatever uh gets out and then next thing you know we get a base hit we get a guy on on first or and verdugo’s case we had a triple and we can’t bring them in and um that that’s got to stop you know that’s the one thing they were doing prior when they were winning that I haven’t seen in the last two days I mean you kind of answered your own comment there with the last couple of words two days it’s not an extended Trend it’s a recency bias kind of feeling the Yankees have been getting a ton of hits this year and they’ve had a ton of hits with runners in scoring position they’re getting more doubles they’re hitting home runs they’ve had a team batting average of about 300 for the prior week before the last couple of days so you know I can understand how this can be frustrating and I was frustrated too but last year this team would do what you’re saying pretty much every night they would get a base hit a single with two outs and they would do that four times a game and call it a night but I think this team is built different I think they’re better and the last couple of games have been frustrating sure but I wouldn’t get too down on the yet quick word from our sponsor odds Jam then isn’t it alarming that when the Yankees reach down into the miners for a relief picture they come up with a player with a 6.60 ER a to me that’s more than alarming also we’re going to have to make many changes in this Bullpen if we expect to make the playoffs so on your first point yeah I have no idea how this guy even ended up on the roster whose cousin he is but I don’t know how the hell he ended up on the team now next the bullpen is actually getting reinforcements Tommy kley has been throwing well he’s going to be back soon we’ve got got FR Ros on the way back L Travino has had some setbacks so I wouldn’t necessarily count on him but there’s a chance he could be back late in the season and if he’s back late and healthy he could be fresh going into the playoffs so I think there’s reinforcements coming but uh yeah Clayton Andrews leave him in New York when you head out west the genius that if the Inc ever win a World Series is not going to be because of him it’s going to be despite his stupid robotic moves why would you put a pitcher that has never pitched the entire season when it’s a one run game you just got some momentum the fans are in the game and you go out of all the guys in the bullpen you go put that dummy in there and that’s not the first time that’s happened remember Michael tonin making his debut against the Brewers in a tight game what the hell is Boon thinking with some of these moves I don’t get it I don’t get it I’ll never get it I don’t understand how he manages his Bullpen but to me uh it’s just incredibly frustrating I appreciate all the calls and uh we’ll be back after the game tonight with hopefully a recap of a victory maybe we’ll break out the belt and the fun hat we’ll see Yankees need it I’ll see you next time G [Applause] [Music] 1. I think Boone manages against himself at times if he gets bored with the game.I am not confident in his manager abilities, despite his winning percentage.

  2. So we lose the game in the ninth inning on Monday. Boone decides to downgrade the lineup. Then uses scrap heap bullpen to help lose another game. That load balancing crap makes no sense to me.

  3. Hello Derek. The Yankees haven't hit good pitching consistently for almost 2 decades especially in the postseason which is why we have failed over and over. We should make playoffs usually do with the exception of last year but Soto Judge Stanton and rest of guys have to hit in the clutch period and not just one round of play. They have to hit all the way thru. Hopefully pitching holds up .
If we do this we win period. We have the players. AKA. Yankee Mike.

  4. Everyone, Chill the F out! The Yanks lead MLB in team ERA. Their bats are 5th in BA, 2nd in HR, 4th in RBI and 5th in hits. It's a long season. Optimism over whining.

  5. I think Boone played him just to show Cashman, “is this what you want? You want me to play this type of player? Why did you add this clown to my team?”

  6. What's the point of making it to the world series if boone is just going to make another bad decision late in the game? What a waste of talent

  7. Huge for the orioles to also lose again, as much as it sucks we could've had a 4 game lead over them, at least they lost when we have cuz they could've tied up the division again if they were to win their 2

  8. It sucks to lose after having a chance to comeback, but last year a 4-0 deficit was like 10-0, and I'd be turning the game off most days, but besides that 7-0 loss we've been in about every game this year.

  9. Wbats Ausmus there for and Blake?
Do they not have some say so on that stuff Boone keeps doing?
    He’s a freakin lazy manager
Just like Torre was his last 2-3 years

  10. You can tell the whole time the guy did not want to be on the mound. As a Mariners fan I don't usually listen to the Yes Network for the game, but I had to watch a stream and it was the only option, and I felt bad when I heard the old Yankees announcers roasting the kid. That's not something you would hear on The Root sports broadcast.

I do agree though, Boone is making some pretty questionable calls for you guys.

  11. My two concerns are Boone and Holmes. Can either one of them perform under pressure. In particular, the playoffs? I am concerned about Holmes more than Boone.

  12. Yankees have some really good players on their team but when you have a manager like Bonehead, it will not translate to a championship . The game beforehand was a direct translation in what happened last night, players and managers should never give another team a reason to beat them , The Big Red Machine , 70s A's and any other great team never makes excuses for a loss to a team in a smaller market 👍

  13. He blew the first game of the series as well clay wasn’t pitching well falling behind every batter but waits till clay gives up the lead to take him out he’s so trash
