Stanford one point away from winning the 2024 National Championship Rachel heck with that four up lead just remember though Meagan from a similar position got that that putt got away from her and W up losing the hole yeah two or three feet past the hole karing and that Ridge could take it another 10 or 15 ft watching these Stanford players run up to 15 green it just bringing back some vivid memor from last year when I won with Wake Forest I mean the the winning feeling it’s it’s so great not just because of winning this particular match but all the endless hours you put in to get to this spot this put for Rachel going up the hill hard to judge the speed with this tier and she judged it well [Applause] so the par is conceded the scenario is simple Kate vus needs to make this for birdie to win the hole if not the Stanford Cardinal are national champs what’s in this P Amelia well she can be aggressive putting back up the hill it’s going to break to her right it’s important when you are going to hit a putt with some more Pace to make sure that you’re adjusting your line as a result this to extend [Music] not to be mission accomplished could stand for Cardinal our national champions oh [Applause] my the Stanford Cardinal the number one seed in each of the last four years and twice they have delivered a national championship the third in program history for Anne Walker what the [Applause] what a year what a r it’s been for UCLA advancing to the match play championship for the first time oh my God oh my God same Sano racing over from 18 doesn’t matter that she lost her match to up she’s an naal champion [Applause] [Music] they’ve done it again the number one team of the country the number one seed in match play takes down UCLA the final 3 to2 as Stanford wins their third women’s division one championship [Music] part of the success you’ve had over the last four years the woman to your right Rachel heck we’ve documented the journey as a freshman in 2021 the injuries you’ve battled the decisions you’ve had to make what does it mean to stay true to this team to wrap up your college career as a national champ yet again um honestly it just doesn’t even feel real this means the world to me these girls are the reason I’m here today coach and I had a convo back in when and she was like do you just want to call it like I was going to doctor’s appointments physical therapy all the time I was miserable and these girls right here are the reason I wanted to keep pushing through thinking about this moment standing here with them has made every single second of it so worth it and it just truly doesn’t feel real did you ever think this moment might not happen considering what you had to endure absolutely there were a lot of ups and downs there were a lot of times where I really thought you know I might not teed it up for Stanford again this was a really tough winner and I thought there was a decent chance that I’d be on the sidelines cheering them on so I’m just blessed to have been on the fairways with them Rachel an the rest of the team congratulations national champs for 2024 thanks Steve thank you thank you Bob congratulations to the Stanford Cardinal as they win their third National Championship here in year one at Omni Lacosta Resort and Spa
