e e e e e what’s up guys the attendance tonight was 15,964 s million it broke the record for highest grossing Fight Night beating uh Austin Texas so this is number one now um thank you St Louis uh performance of the night goes to uh albergen Ferrara and and golf and Waters was the uh fight of the night they all got $50,000 what’s up what’s up a fun event right and a classic Derrick Lewis performance you know struggling with the grappling and then just goes and knocks him out I don’t know why they keep making me main event I didn’t want a main event yeah yeah he’s a fun guy though right he’s someone you can just bring to any Market in the country and just have him main event and be a star to bring people yeah he’s he’s a fun exciting heavyweight who knocks people out and he’s funny and then he strips and he’s what and then he strips and throws his cups at people yeah I miss that thank god um with Buckley though right he called for his shot he didn’t get the main event he got the co-main event and he had an incredible performance crowd was behind him is doing things like that for for a fighter is that what they need to do to push themselves up in front of the fans and get more recognition I mean it’s the thing to do if if if you really believe in yourself and you know especially in your hometown you know the city is great great great weather clean City people are great crowds incredible and uh he’s obviously going to be a a freaking rock star here now so people who believe in themselves and and and take opportunities get rewarded and and way more than just here at the UFC it it takes you to a whole another level obviously look the Apex is very convenient for the people who live in Vegas but when you get a guy and have him perform like that in front of his home crowd this is where someone like him can make himself a bigger Star right taking advantage of a position like this yeah I mean even if you’re watching on ESPN I mean everybody I’m sure you guys were getting text too it’s like they’re like Jesus Christ it’s like a pay-per-view there right now 100% And this is sort of uh the when you think about how we built this business it was taking it out of you know the big markets like when we first got into the fight business everybody just went to Vegas Atlantic City sometimes New York sometimes la that that’s the only place that really had fights unless you had a a local kid that would fight in some you know we we we built this business taking this thing to to every city all over the world and you know as we start to get our our together I will call it and start to move about and start to you know go to these different cities like we used to it it it the whole sport just goes to another level do you think there’ll be a time where the Apex shows or like maybe once a month if that or you use it more sparingly or are you happy to have that yeah I mean it’s what I’ve been saying it’s for a long time but we got to get out of the Apex and start doing more events uh in all these different cities and we’re starting to do it we’re get we’re getting it done this year yeah you talk about going to different cities congratulations on the new Saudi deal um for the UFC and for power slap thank you it’s rare that a a deal gets extended before you even have your first event how exactly did this one come around that they wanted to just keep going into business with you well it started with power slap they wanted power slap I got in there and started talking to them and then we did another UFC fight too they’re talking about an event maybe later this year year next year is that going to be a pay-per-view or is that another Fight Night for them fight night yeah they’re both fight nights outside of tonight as well I want to say congratulations on what I assume will be the UFC’s first $20 million gate with Connor’s return is that true is it going to break 20 million yeah it’s already way over 20 million is it a bit more satisfying because I remember there was another promoter in Espinosa who said the UFC’s never done a$2 million gate so is it fun to who gives a flying with Espinosa thanks pardon my language ma’am ma’am sorry yeah yeah where is espanosa sorry where is Espinosa who gives a okay last one from me uh Jon Jones is making headlines recently by saying you know maybe he’s interested in Stipe then Alex Pereira in your mind is the the move still do the Stipe fight and then if he wants to fight again it’s Tom Aspen yeah it it it’s it’s Stipe I think John’s just asking who do you like what do you think kind of just feeling it out and seeing what people think but he knows he’s fighting Stipe stie said that might be in New York is that about right sounds right Danner right here hey buddy hey um wanted to talk about uh Terence mckin and uh Chase Hooper sorry not Terence mcken eson reix and uh Chase Hooper tonight yeah both with the uh the finishes and uh there seems to be like a lottery of guys calling out Patty pimble we had um moano and Chase Hooper and Rix all called out Patty tonight want to get your thoughts on that as well uh calling Patty out yeah yeah you know I think Patty’s a a fun fight for guys and and uh I think guys think he’s super beatable but Patty always seems to get the job done so yeah um and I think that guys want to call out people that will get attention a fight that’ll get a a lot of attention and and Patty’s definitely one of those guys uh we haven’t seen you in a little bit I just wanted to get your thoughts on how fun it was to make the UFC 300 video where you kind of clap back at everybody for it’s always fun I mean I always you know that that’s I always take the low road that’s that’s that’s uh my favorite thing to do and uh you kind of went viral this week um you were hanging out in New York and then yeah there was a guy throwing boxes in the back of the the FedEx truck just wanted to get your thoughts on that as well my thoughts on him throwing that I thought it was hilarious uh you know that that that’s why I posted it could he uh could he one day get a job doing anything in the UFC uh I I don’t know he I’m sure mean he asked for this fight um you know he fought a guy that was smashing people you know in the first round and he went out and took the fight to him and and uh yeah incredible performance in your hometown in in my experience it’s funny because you have some guys who like it’s my dream to fight in my hometown but most people don’t want to fight in their hometowns it’s it’s a lot of pressure um Everybody hitting you up for tickets you know it just it’s a different vibe when you fight in your hometown Buckley called for this came out he delivered and you know that guy’s going to be a rock star here now people who didn’t know who the hell he was yesterday know who he is today yeah I’m I’m really good friends with Buckley and he was saying like he was contemplating whether to try to get on the St Louis card or fight like a ranked guy but he’s game so yeah yeah well this guy wasn’t ranked but this guy’s nasty this is a guy that you know this is a guy that most people in Buckley’s position don’t call out you know if you’re Buckley when you look where he’s ranked you you want to fight a guy higher in the rankings not take that kind of a risk to fight a killer like this guy and and and possibly lose he would have fell out of the rankings if he lost right yeah awesome move it’s this is the type of that fight fans love Yeah couple guys asking to be in the UFC game uh Chase Hooper came in here and said that you kind of get a pool of Fighters and you get to approve it is that true that is true okay can we see Chase anytime soon in there sure you want me to do it is that what you’re asking me I mean I want Buckley in there but you know it’s personal yeah I I you know what I think tonight he he earned a spot in the UFC video game tonight was uh you know if you look at how hard that that kid’s been working came in here at a very young age and very one-dimensional and uh he actually dropped him in the first round with a punch you know he he’s coming to his own he he he put on a great performance tonight yeah he said he’s going to do a challenge whenever he does get in the game of like having fans try to knock somebody out with uh Chase as a player so that’s pretty funny um did you stop by Ted Drew earlier did I stop by uh Ted Drew’s Frozen Custard earlier I did how was that it was good it was very good all right and then so Buckley did say that he called out McGregor uh any any chance of that in the future what do you think no okay thank you thank you um Dan quick question U Mark Shapiro said earlier this week that the sphere would be a oneandone thing was that always the plan or has it been one of those things that as you guys have gotten into the planning and how complex it is that that’s just kind of developed into I went to figure out how to tell you this without buming people out but I went to you two at the sphere halfway through the show I was like I gotta do this left called my head of production said get ready you and your guys are going to you two next weekend I want you guys to go to the show we’re doing this sphere and the timing worked out perfectly because I end ended up in a in a beef with the uh uh the guys we’re with now and in that beef I walked out with the sphere able to do it because we’re on a contract I couldn’t just go do the sphere I’m telling you guys right now I literally we just went through the story boards two days ago on this thing this is going to be the sickest live event as in Combat Sports that anybody has ever seen and it will never be done again this will be this will be a oneandone um just because I want to do it and everybody when I said I wanted to do this was like how how are you going to do a fighting there it’s too hard it’s too this too that and that’s the kind of stuff I love um we’ve already spent a shitload of money on this thing nobody will ever be able to pull this off again because nobody would spend the money to do it nobody’s going to spend the money to do what I’m doing over there right now and as it gets closer I’ll lay this thing out for you guys I’m telling you this is going to be so badass it’s I’m super excited about let me put it to you this way when we were going through the storyboards I was getting Goosebumps all right imagine when it’s when it’s actually happening and wait till you see the people that I brought together to pull this thing off and I as we get closer I I’ll let you guys know but yeah this this is going to be something special sounds good another question um as power slap starts getting legalized in more States uh and I know you’re wanting to travel with power slap are you at all in the future envisioning a scenario where you guys do the UFC and power slap in the same weekend in the same city it’s gonna we already have those dates set up right now yeah where power slap goes Friday and UFC go Saturday and last one for me and you’re going to see Friday power slap Saturday UFC and Sunday WWE I mean you’ll start seeing that stuff too that’s last one for me uh you made an appearance on the Neel video with them storm chasing in the midwest I think you were on FaceTime with Bob men yeah uh you were in Kansas City last year St Louis uh this year uh any desire on your end to do some tornado chasing here in the Midwest not really I I would like to avoid as many tornadoes as possible you know it’s I love the Midwest performance today about how how did he do today in his uh his win his victory uh yeah I I think that you know everybody tonight I mean everybody who won tonight came out and delivered I I I don’t know if it was like I think that when you get the type of fans that you have here and you have the energy I mean from the first fight of the night this place was almost full and the people were in there going crazy and I think that when you have this this type of atmosphere and fans like like here in St Louis it takes everybody to the next level um but uh except that fight I was thinking how do I say this it takes everybody to another level except that fight well uh my my next he won yeah he won that’s true but if you if you had to pick all the fights on the card uh and that one opened the show you open the show heading into the um you know we’re live on ESPN you’re opening the show it’s your time to shine and show everybody who you are and that’s your performance yeah I don’t know you you guys tell me if you go through the card and you had to pick if I was giving out a bonus for shittiest fight of the night who would you guys give it to yeah every in agre yeah all right is that why you asked that question or were you looking for me to pump them up talk about want to know your thoughts um you know about his performance because uh I don’t I don’t I don’t exactly know how to say it but um shittiest fight of the night is that what you’re were trying to say I’m not didn’t want to say not allowed to say I’m not allowed to say that but I just wanted to know what was your thought about that one uh but uh following up uh my second question I know you said that uh the event on the sphere and everything um just wanted to know um besides all the money that you guys are investing I know that uh right now boxing they’re preparing a super big fight for SE for September you know that uh Independence Day for Mexico it’s really important for a lot of uh Latin American people uh how do you guys see that event that UFC event for that month how’s how’s it looking till this day what’s what’s the question yeah yeah for that for those fights you talking about the sphere yeah yeah yeah we’re going to announce all that stuff soon this is going to be a Masterpiece man this is going to be this I’m put I’m telling you right now and this will be a fact this a fact this will never be done again you know what’s going to happen when I do this event at the sphere every other event that goes in there is going to go what do we do now how do we even come close to competing with this we’re going to blow the doors off anything that ever goes into that into that Arena again I guarantee it perfect then my that the answer your question that that answers my question and then my very last um was not a question I was really lucky fortunate to get that D Lewis cup would you mind Sig it uh I would prefer not to but uh I mean you were very lucky to catch that yeah it was it was right in front of me he wrestlers like Bobby Lashley and Jake Hager that went back and forth between wrestling and fighting in MMA yeah do you think there’s a possibility for like some UFC guys to go to like a pay-per-view and and make appearances or compete or anything like that well I didn’t know that but yeah I would do anything for Derrick Lewis I really like Derrick Lewis a lot so and listen some some of the some of the fighters who fight here you know have always dreamed about doing a you know a WWE match or whatever it is and yeah I don’t have a problem with that I mean I didn’t have a problem with that when Vince was consistently me for no reason and uh you know now that that’s not the case anymore I you know obviously would absolutely do it could we ever see you as like a special guest referee one day me yeah that I guarantee you you will not no never you guys good I got two questions go ahead sir what do you got both about uh another St Louis fighter Sean Woodson he’s uh 611 he’s he had a good fight today he’s on a role this year got ask you about where you see his future in UFC um yeah I mean he fought a great he got he fought a great fight tonight against a tough kid I I respect Alex so much that kid always shows up to fight always shows up to win always goes after it um yeah and before he was on your Contender series back in 19 he would he started his career here at the Shamrock uh I guess sh FC I forget the promotion so do you see him as an example of the potential of Fighters coming from like these local promotions who could potentially be like future UFC fighters or future pros and and other way yeah well that’s how it works I mean if you if you look at the contender series which starts soon and I can’t wait if is uh it’s the best that’s out there that is not signed by the UFC and these guys come in and they have uh one chance to show me who they are and what they got and it’s what makes the contender series literally the best show on TV as far as Combat Sports goes I mean when when we’re in Vegas and the contender Series starts we can’t wait to go to the to go there on Tuesday nights man it’s it’s literally the best and some of you media that cover it live in Vegas is it’s it’s uh it’s unbelievable it’s it’s one of my favorite things to do I love it and but yeah these local uh you know promotions is where we get all the talent they’re key to the growth of me you know because the the Roar of the crowd but because I couldn’t hear uh what my coaches was saying I just used the energy of the crowd to make sure I kept pushing and keep putting on the performance like I was doing in that fight and uh yeah man so St Louis got me to win yeah and you you kind of played the heel all week you know teasing the usbekistan fans to the point where you even went out and you grabbed the flag during the walk out what what did you think it’s more it’s more behind that story than the just teasing but you know I I I didn’t want to disrespect the flag at all I just carried it out uh just like um Nan did he carried this flag out but I feel like you know Flags don’t separate us right uh I feel like you know we we’re all from one Brotherhood when we step in that cage yeah we go to war but once we spill blood we brothers so it don’t matter what uh flag you represent and then as far as the fight itself went I mean how close did you think you were to finishing him in there uh I I ain’t going to lie man I I guess uh uh Peterson had his money on somebody else you know what I mean cuz uh he should have stopped the fight a long time ago but it is what it is uh he’s a tough guy he had a lot of motivation uh to try to win so he stayed in there his will was strong so you know yeah what did you think about those Up Kicks that he was throwing at oh boy there some long legs man I had to duck and Dodge those but uh uh it is what it is you know I got around it that’s why I’m glad I brought in heis Rita uh for this Camp the giraffe himself and you know he actually uh showed me those kicks and and how I evade and how I come inside and uh oh no Diddy and how to maneuver around those legs so you know uh I appreciate he for coming in and then the uh the postf fight call out of Conor McGregor Dan Dana wasn’t here and he confirmed that you’re probably not going to get that definitely not going to get that man but uh why not take chances right I’ve been doing it uh up until this moment so I said why not make the biggest uh call out that I can make and uh if Michael Chandler doesn’t show up for the fight guess what new man will be ready do you feel bad at all talking trash about his family oh hell no If he if he want to back it up I mean I didn’t talk trash about his family you know just some mck hoes dog it’s all right you know we all you know all got a little ho in us what’s up bu what’s up man how you feeling bro feeling good bro yeah um so what does this win mean for the city uh this this win means a lot uh because it just we have somebody to represent the city in a positive way in a positive light um like I said I I grown up here I was born here I was raised here and I’m I’m a I’m a image that kidss can see that you can follow your dreams and you can do the things that you always wanted to do so with that being said I think you know this win is definitely going to be a great uh positive outlet for kids to look at and for me to go out there and uh continue to do what I’m doing so can you explain what is solid solid foundation uh solid foundation is uh something that me and my brother uh created edri Dillard uh he was in my corner tonight uh but you know the sil Foundation is a is a brand that we build together in what we call uh Brick by Brick right so every brick represents the person that helps uh build a person up and I feel that our solid foundation is what got us here to this moment because you cannot build something great without a a solid foundation because if anything that you build up and you don’t have a solid foundation what your your whole brand will crumble so uh every person that I have in my uh Corner every person that I have that’s backing me they are part of my solid foundation you know everybody’s a brick so you know we had uh a lot more bricks you know added to uh the solid foundation today yeah yeah so um to the usbeck fans any message for them um it’s nothing but respect and love for the USBC fans and I hope they enjoyed uh the fight that they watched all right and then Charles Johnson Shan Woods what do you think about their performances uh you know St Louis took the sweep man we here so you know STL undefeated let’s get it all right and then last question uh did you want that finish yeah definitely wanted that finish uh but one thing I hope is that my performance still led me to get a bonus so uh I always want that finish I always want to end the fight in a spectacular fashion but you know I really believe that you know I’m the type of fighter that shows out and always try to work to get a bonus so that’s one thing that I’m hoping that Dana and the UFC blessed me with yeah well congrats man thank you Buckley right here what’s up hey great performance congratulations it was a super dominant performance but you also showed that you are a complete fighter you showed you can grapple you showed you can strike even though you are known more for your viral Knockouts and your power is your grappling and just being a complete mixed martial artist is that something we’re going to see more from you uh well fighting at the highest level and fighting these ranked opponents you going to have to evolve you going have to change your game up you can’t fight the same way uh so my style even though is still the same with you know explosive and uh uh devastating power it’s still some finesse in there it’s still some Swagger in there and I’m looking to uh show the world that you know I’m ready to be a world champion absolutely and I noticed that I I’d heard You’ been getting some work in at finey since you’ve been around town and you’ve got some St Louis guys in your corner which I love to see are you going to stick around St Louis for a while yeah went back to those stumping grounds inin MMA that’s where everything started you know back in uh 2012 2013 and uh yeah I’m coming back home to St Louis but I’m going to be bringing in the same guys from Michigan uh letting them come to St Louis uh like I said I got my baby girl oriah and I just want to you know I want to be in their life right I sacrificed a lot of time away from my son so you know that time that I sacrificed I feel like you know I’ve been rewarded and blessed to now be back home awesome congrats again thank you hey walk King congrats on the big win appreciate um you that’s why they finish him so I was trying to catch my breath then um waited out why do you want the fifth round just to get more minutes in there um just to get more minutes because I I felt like that he was he was probably going to get tired before me did you know that you were if you landed that right B obviously you can put anyone to sleep but was that an opening that you saw in there or you knew that hey I can probably land this right hand on him in particular I believe I can knock anybody out with that right hand um and my coaches was letting me know that every time I’m touching I’m hurting him so I seen that also yeah were you expecting him to come with a clinch grappling heavy game plan that he did yeah my coaches said that that’s one of the things that he like to do um clinch and play with the hands U trying to confuse it a little bit so he can come with the trip and talk us through the strip show afterwards why is the the shorts have to come off every time now um you got take you to the ground and grapple to either take advantage or p on the fight how important is the preparation to use your grappling to reverse that and get back in position to win by knock out um it all depends on how much time is on the clock if it’s almost the round is almost over with you might well worry about trying to get up just let him ride it on out but if it’s early on in the clock then yeah you need um try to Hur up and get up right up here up front so if you’re G to jump back and forth between the UFC and WWE you get to pick your fight color shorts for the UFC what’s your costume
