hey friends I finally caved in so I finally got fit for the lab golf putter so everybody’s been talking about the lab Golf Putters everybody wants one they want to try one um I have this video playing next to me which is the CEO of uh lab Putters Sam Han and basically it’s a machine that they have that showcases uh Putters opening uh during Impact versus a lab golf putter which pretty much stays uh straight back straight forward so I went out to lab Golf Headquarters out here in uh Creswell Oregon about 2 hours from Portland Oregon and uh got fit so uh if you guys ever have time uh definitely check out this brand check out the putter looks amazing and take a look at my experience of the fitting out in lab HQ thanks for watching hey friends welcome to another video uh today I am in crestwell Oregon uh at the home of lab Golf Putters um that is lie angle balance um this is probably a putter that a lot of us have seen by the likes of uh Adam Scott Lucas Glover uh Camilo Vias on the tour and a whole bunch of buddies of mine have this putter but I wanted to come out here showcase you guys what the uh on uh on-site fitting experience is like so come follow along uh as we take a look and uh I get a lab golf putter built for me yeah so I’ve been with lab for about 2 years now um when I first started out we were in a little Warehouse in Eugene there about 20 25 of us uh now we’re kind of here in Crestville Oregon next to Emer Valley Golf Course um all Putters are are built and assembled here shipped out the whole thing um is done here customer service is here our whole our whole company is here so we we’re looking to provide the best product best cter that is customizable to what what our players okay wonderful so let’s see kind of initial y angle for were you trying to start this I’m trying to start this maybe okay so 33 length is going to be just fun okay okay uh most putter companies going to make a putter about 70° L angle they might give you one or two upright or flat go all the way from 63 to 79 wow okay problem with that um he of your Putters a little off the ground have you noticed that before yeah so I’m a little bit tow down yep you’re tow down so you’re going to be a little bit more upright um so we’re starts at 33 okay right now I’m going to loosen this up and then we’re going to have you get over the ball [Music] okay um like we said most putter companies are 70 we go all the way from 63 all the way up to 79 and2 so you with your Scotty with that heel being up when we measure here for 74 that is more upright than 70 um so that makes sense why we are in that range got it got it that makes sense yep which is our blade okay we’ve got our so link is going to be a blade which I’m traditionally used to correct yep we’ve got our blade we’ve got our Mez one uh which is our kind of mini m I would say so MZ Max which is going to be a little bit bigger than the mes so this is just called MZ that’s a mes one mes one mes one okay mes one everybody mes one we’ve got our df3 and we’ve got our original so just going to be a bigger uh mask on the MZ uh what two on the MZ Max oh MZ Max so a little bit bigger kind of wow when people hear Mez MZ Max they think that the max is this massive putter head y it’s actually 20% bigger it’s 5 in longer across the face And1 in deeper from like left to right this way that makes sense so even though they it’s Max it’s just a little bit bigger it is going to give you more stability obviously um if we go over our models real quick so we’ve got our link MZ MZ Max df3 DF 2.1 um I think this icon I mean I I feel like I see the yes this is our most popular model right now and this is D df3 yes the DF 2.1 this is the original model um most people love the technology behind it they hate to look profile the size so this year when we wanted to come out with um you know something similar to list our our Engineers wanted to kind of keep so um you know big big question customer service is hey I do little forward press is that a problem with your Putters no you can always do a little forward press as a trigger of course we don’t you know recommend you you know kind of shutting it down in the ground because the loft of our Putters is not the same as others so like some Scotty car will have five or 6° where if you deloft it you know you’re playing it probably closer to two or three ours already start at two at a minimum and then go up to three God does that make sense um balances of Putters um is it is that a importance to you guys what is that me for you guys yes so um I think one of the kind of misconceptions is people see the weights in our Putter and they think it’s kind of like Scotti or something where you can just toss in heavier weights different weights or or whatever and the thing is every cter that we make is built and balanced the exact specifications of that cut length L angle shaft gripped so any of those things change that balance could fall could could change um so every every putter is is specifically Balan to exactly what you have for any modification that you might try and make at home whether just change the GP right um you know hey I went with the press 2 1.5 uh i’ like to switch to our pistol grip going is that going to be fine that can change the balance because the weight distribution is different that can affect as well because this tapers down and there’s more weight up at the top that’s going to be different um you know in terms of the balancing that we do for a putter got it that make sense yes yeah so I think that’s the thing is people you know it’s kind of like anything stuff other in their bag where they go oh I can just kind of bend it or I can I can you know putut it down andon won’t make a difference um definitely recommend sending it back to you sending it in and and getting it balanced and everything it works what if the putter grip is not typically the same weight like let’s say I went with like a super jumbo super stroke correct and then you wanted to change that later no just just saying in in regards to the the the performance and Tey so yeah you you ordered the link and you like a jumbo grip on there um something that we do for our customers is that they can send it in and then we can put it on there for them and then balance it to that grip got it yep yep right so always trust you guys yeah exactly and then um shaft I see there’s different uh this one has kind of like a almost like a camo looking shaft that’s our TVC shaft yeah exactly so we’ve got different shaft upgrades uh steel shaft is our stock shaft no upcharge uh shaft upgrades just made by you guys or uh that’s Acra Acra tvt uh we have dgt and then we’ve got a steel shaft four different options right now for customers uh one thing that sha upgrades will not do will not change technology okay okay so no matter what you go with the technology got it the three things that are shaft upgrades are going one the sound of the ball coming off the chest okay some people care about that some people right okay second to changes how much feedback you get would L feedback feedback is going to be kind of how much feeling you kind of get from that shot soft where it’s going to kind of D that permer when you can feel it um and it kind of ties into the third thing which is it’s going to change how that ball feels coming off the face got it okay so um for example all of our Putters are are base aluminum except for the link link is made of stainless steel okay okay firmer metal staying the steel is firmer than aluminum got it okay so firmer face if we stuck a firm stable shaft in there okay right we’re going to go firm face firm shaft get the really firm feel off the face all opposite end of the spectrum 2.1 our biggest head our softest head as well sure ACR shaft in there soft shaft soft face can give you a really soft feel off the face got it okay so you know there are some people who really enjoy that softness right um for me personally the ball can kind of feel a little bit like a marshmallow sometimes and it’s kind of hard to feel that too soft it’s kind of hard to gauge speed so when we’re looking at shaft upgrades so like our TPT shaft here okay for it’s our $399 upgrade great shaft great feedback great performance um what we really want to do is we want to create the combination of model and shaft that gives you the feeling that you’re looking for and whether that’s a little bit softer whether that’s firmer whether that’s more of a balanced feel that’s kind of what we’re looking for cuz there are plenty of people upstairs you know in our company that love ACA and DF and they love that soft feel um so it really comes down to kind of a personal purpose of what what feel are you looking for that gives you the the amount of feedback can feel that you face got it that make sense yes and I did see on your guys’ website uh stability stability sh yep we got the stability shot as well got it yes M I don’t know too much about it i’ I’ve heard I I have a couple golf buddies that’s playing it uhhuh um they love it but uh in your guys’ instance is that do you guys see that being a benefit not too much or mean again all depends on what I want correct exactly what you I’m MZ One Max and df3 okay um those all kind of speak to me okay I’m keen on hitting this just because this is give it a go you know more of a you know what I’m used to correct uhhuh um but for me it’s harder to see almost a center shafted putter on a on a a blade on a blade you are so used to CU I’m so used to seeing it on we to change we might as well kind of like exactly give me the exactly like if if I’m going to commit to something like that give but I’m to see obvious performance could be a whole different you know uh Factor but yeah okay so let’s grab so let’s start out with this uh Mees one aftera 34 and2 73 so obviously a little bit too long for you but we’re we’re going to be focused now kind of on feeling off the face and what combination that you like cuz we already know you know we’re in that now this is not obviously uh to my expect but we’re getting closer to feel this one feels amazing feels really good feels really good this is where we’re so that heel just a little bit higher off the ground still so in that yeah probably 73 74 range for sure right now this is uh where we’re at with number one this is the MZ one with Acra shaft and then this is a uh you guys all just use proprietary uh grips right like you guys are not changing out grips from other brands no correct um we’ve got a link here 3473 so this is actually pretty close to your specs okay it’s got a TPT shaft in it this actually does have a super stroke grip on it okay cool something different somebody put on there sure anding it okay like there’s a lot of uh head manipulation 3472 uh TPT going to be the press two 1.5 grip as well yeah not filling this one link is up out okay link is out that’s why we’ve got uh different models for everybody okay and left proba the right super fir I feel like this is firmer than the link fir L yeah yeah with this Sha let’s see so we were looking AT3 something a little softer um I’ve got you at 3573 so obviously a little bit two long but 73 Li angle this is going to be df3 with steel shaft uh pistol grip with that as well right off the looks I’m already loving it okay yeah love the weight on this one okay uh on the head shaft feels very firm okay um still a little too firm a little still a little too firm still going back to that Mez love that Mees combination that Mees combination yeah okay so this is 3471 um SOA not going to be as upright as we need but but it’s got that Acro shaft in it okay I love that yeah 100% got to go with something that feels like this like so okay already off the bat when we did the Mez and this one I’m I’m leading towards this type of C okay uh Mees Max after that’s 3575 so that’s going to be too long but let’s just see if you like that cuz you like the kind of the look of that face the size of it see that Acro shaft if that’s the the combination that you like I got to is it is 75 focus on [Music] that I’ve got Mez bgt Thea 3E TV or not sorry bgt okay uh not going to be in your specs that one 3469 and that is I believe 3469 well o new grip here I think the uh the butter gri offsets a little bit where it with the but I could not play that big [Music] yeah yeah you’re right definitely feel the stability feels firmer firmer yeah okay you know when people say you know hey like I want that most expensive upgrade right yes that is a great performing putter but it might not be the field that you’re look and there’s nothing wrong with going with something that you know even some people go hey I love the steel shaft because that’s what they’re familiar right right there’s nothing wrong with it’s not going to change the technology and and I I I agree with you cuz you know I’ve been hearing a lot about stability shaft Putters but for me my feel did not love it yeah so um abely and that’s not to say it’s one shaft is worse or better than it’s just what is going to what feeling combination are are you going to love the most right right okay he [Music] at this point now we’ve nailed down uh the specs we’re at 3374 uh df3 head Aqua shaft um so now we’re going to kind of test some lag putting just double check that you love the feel off that just kind of done shorter putts right [Music] the pistol grip and the Press 23 um because the df3 has 3° of Loft any of these grips will work with that okay uh 1.5 is going to be close to your standard grip that is going to stay the same width from the top to the bottom okay pistol grip which is designed for the df3 it’s got 2° of press two de of shaing on this uh this is going to taper down from the B from the top to the bottom a little bit um that’s probably kind of our most popular grip for the df3 right now and then we’ve already kind of established you don’t like the Press 23 which is kind of like a bigger size jumb yeah I’m definitely favoring this pistol grip okay awesome marks oh yeah the df3 has 30 different ones 30 yeah okay yeah um so um that one is most is very popular with that face line okay um so there is a little I’m not going to say there’s some science I have science behind it um alignment marks is a very personal thing of what’s going to help you aim where you intending where you’re looking at right um so you know this this line right here is going to help you aim towards the hole this face line here will help people um figure out if that putter is square or not okay uh one of our really popular alignment marks is going to be this baby T okayy where it’s going to be just have that little face line which about the width of the ball and then that line right there that’s baby T okay and then yeah that’s the one I was like that looks good I like the the three lines the three lines is going to be kind of I call it the railroad tracks where we’ve got these lines which are about the width of the ball and then these three go halfway through and then you got one right here kind of gives you that that kind of starting point to take it back just know that that face line is going to be kind of a barrier between the aiming line in that when you go like when you just have this that is going to be just kind of like a straight through no barri right there so that’s kind of that’s kind of the decision that you got to make when it comes to that is are you okay with that line blocking the line right with the ball so you can see that it’s square or do you I favor this one more this one more right yeah with the the triple track or whatever okay awesome um I love how the df3 has the uh the ball retriever yes the ball retri it’s funny when we were sending them out as prototypes yep people kept being like love the ballp pick rer love the ball picker it’s like you know it doesn’t necessarily help you make p right right right but you know that’s great that we’ve been able to do that you guys heard it from Calvin um we’re doing a new lab putter order it’s a df3 D3 with an Acra I don’t know the name of the model of the shaft but an Acra yep just the Acra Acra shaft Acra shaft um and we’re going to play around with the uh the the sight lines but uh yeah it’s going to be it’s going to be good with the uh with the pistol still grip yep yep okay wonderful so you guys heard it there um yeah amazing experience here at lab golf um you know they get you all looked at at what you’re currently gaming and then uh kind of give you all the variations that they have here uh tried it and True by multiple PGA Tour and even live golf players right um so yeah come visit them down here at crestwell oron cres Oregon it’s 2 hours away from Portland not a not a uh not a hard drive at all so uh so definitely out here give these guys take a look and and and uh try them out and then for everybody watching this um we’re doing the order post doing kind of the the fitting um C was able to take a look at uh my old putter take a look at the Spectrum there um let me try out all the different versions that they have here at at lab and then now we’re making that final order uh putter color most difficult position for anybody that comes in we got black we’ve got blue uh we got red going to be pretty yeah that’s pretty yeah that’s pretty close I felt like the mes one or whatever blue one that you had out there was more lighter but that could just be because we were in the Sun out in the sun yeah mhm so this is the green and this is the blue I think I I would go with the blue with the blue yeah three right-handed standard you like the way at standard yep okay Acra black or white white 33 shaft length 74 L we’re going with alignment Mark so here’s where all those 30 options are so um when you click on them on our website it’ll pop up on there so here’s like a three that we saw out there three with the faceline I see um one that you were interested in so like there like a triple track or that’s a double we do have like a little triple track one where would that be yeah if you play Callaway triple track ball that’s going to that’ll be the one that people want to go with um some of the kind of more interesting ones we have where you know there’s there’s like a pyramid that can throw on there yeah that one’s hard to look at um you know our most common one is going to be that big tea the big tea the small T the baby T number or letter C uh single line is also very popular um but I think the one that we were kind of talking about was this L which is going to be that three lines with that one all the way through there y I love that with that white Acer 2 that’s going to blend in perfectly with those alignment lines so that’ll look really good and how do you guys is it something that just gets put on sprayed or nope that’s lasered on oh it’s lasered onered on so um Calvin just got me ordered for my putter it’s going to take a couple days to get to me but we did a df3 this blue color which is going to be amazing with a white after shaft white is it white putter grip white yep white grip white white grip cool anyways um I’m out here at Creswell Oregon at Emerald Valley Golf Course where their offic is at uh but if you don’t have the opportunity to come out here you guys have multiple uh fitting locations I know I’ve seen on you guys’ website yep yep you can go to Club Champion chion that’s kind of our main one that we push people to for inperson fittings okay and there is also an online version which I know one of my buddies at at at pumpkin has done the online fitting and how does that process work yeah so our remote fitting process uh it’s actually very accurate when done correctly where we get the format of video and everything that we need out of there um it’s a really simple 5 to 10 second video that you can do at home in the office um anywhere that you can have a right angle where like a door frame is probably the most common thing sure um send it in 5 10 second video where you take a coup of individual putting strokes and then we can figure out which Square length check the line angle to make sure that it’s going to be flat on the ground uh we’ve got a a team of remote Fitters that are up to date with all of our latest products and and that combination stuff and can help walk you through that process you know via email of hey this combination is going to be a little bit softer if you go with this it’s going to feel a little bit firmer um they can answer any question that you have uh when it comes to grip shaft upgrades sure uh weight of the putter any of that stuff that they that they can help you out with you got it and then right now if um someone wants to order one online custom or a build how long does it typically take what’s com on uh we’re looking at probably five to six weeks for for a lead time five to we yeah we normally like to be a little bit faster than that but with the amount of orders we have uh we have been slowed down a little bit so those guys are working their best and coming in on weekends to try and try and catch up but yeah it’s a it’s a busy time here which is a good problem to have I know for customers they obviously would love to get that out quicker we we are doing our best to get PS out as fast as possible Right you heard it there guys um Calvin from Lab golf amazing team out here amazing experience if you ever had the opportunity to come out here visit these guys do the in-person fitting which I just was able to do and you guys will see um yeah come visit these guys check out this putter everybody’s talking about this thing uh lab and lab stands for L angle balance lie angle balance and they get they’ll get you all dialed in perfect uh for the putter that you need um and uh yeah it’s going to take a couple days but can’t wait to to to see this thing uh come home and uh
