uh 232.103 [Music] everybody at Hendrick Motorsports especially Rick Hendrick uh I know he’s watching probably back at home and um just an awesome opportunity and and having a blast so far too so staying in tune with things that are going on North wilksboro as well so it’s been fun watching from a distance but uh yeah happy to get um get a good run in there you didn’t freak out how did you walk yourself through okay learned something now I got to get out and do it again do it the right way yeah honestly I feel like the nerves were a lot less uh you know going the second time um even with you know not completing that first run I I just felt like less nervous you know it’s just good to get a run in you know I don’t ever get to qualify like that you know where you get multiple shots at it so um you at least where like that one lap matters you this you can forfeit a you a run so yeah getting that uh that run in earlier even not completing it was fine and um felt much more comfortable there that last time fch as he’s ever gone in a race car nice day so far for Kyle Kevin it’s been fun watching a couple of Legends watch Kyle lson Tony canine 8500 winner five-time Brickyard winner Jeff Gordon TK how you doing as a coach what was this like for you he doesn’t need a coach I just don’t have the heart I was telling Jeff he’s been doing this a little longer than I am and I I don’t want to come back tomorrow I was so nervous but I mean call me a coach is understatement I Kyle is making me look really good I can’t thank Jeff Mr HRI and and and the whole team for having the opportunity he uh I learned a lot with him today how calm this kid was and in 21 years I was never like that so pretty cool how’d you feel you kind of living through Kyle getting a chance to run in Indianapolis Jeff oh 100% I mean what kid as a race car driver doesn’t want to race to Indianapolis and living here in Indiana is definitely on uh you know high on on my bucket list and so I’m definitely living by Cary through him although we’re not intentionally trying to create the drama so I’m with TK on on the heart rate we can finally breathe but uh now it’ll ramp up again tomorrow just so proud of everybody at Errol McLaren and and everybody that’s been a part of this including TK it’s been a total team effort to get the car here to rebound like they just did under extreme pressure to make this race and now be in the top 12 at least currently we’ll see how how it ends up and that’s uh it’s exciting it’s amazing to be here the atmosphere is incredible it’s not even race day yet yeah we’re just getting started TK um do you think from the team aspect that they would want him to qualify again how important is it to stay in the top 12 if that’s in Jeopardy or is it just now get him safely in let’s think about racing now K is a racer we’re Racers I I think we’re going to talk about it but we have the best in the seed so to do it again I did it three times last year and he’s a lot better than I am so I I think we’re going to evaluate uh the situation but the goal is to put him in the top 12 and and go for tomorrow so uh I want to get the call from Jeff or Mr Hendrick saying what are you guys doing that you’re not putting him there but hopefully we’ll be safe uh and uh we’ll play tomorrow Tony canine the a McLaren sporting director and another legend of the sport here today at the Brickyard Jeff Gordon and look at that there’s a lifetime photo no matter how far how big Kyle Lon gets in his racing life this one will be one to remember forever what a what a great effort

  1. Now, if the roles were reversed, is any Indy Car or F1 driver getting in a Cup car and capable of contending in their first race?
    Personally, I don't think so.

  2. Que orgulho TK, você é foda !
    Reunião de lendas, incrível !
Larson é um ótimo piloto da para ver como ele é dedicado … mas irei torcer aqui do Brasil pelo Hélio Castro Neves

  3. Reserving being impressed with Kyle when he wins Mid-Ohio, or Laguna. He's a bit of a diva. You race NASCAR dude, it's not rocket science.

  4. I wonder how many people understand how huge this is. Very few Indy rookies qualify in the top 12, let alone 6th fastest. If the conditions are right he could potentially take the pole today. Keeping his nerves calm and staying focused is going to be what makes it happen for Kyle. The support and team behind him is what he needs. Maybe Hendrick should consider running an Indycar team next year. They already have a driver that can get it done.
