Rapid City Post 22 Hardhats (8-6) vs Gillette Post 42 Roughriders (19-5) 9-Inning game

hello and welcome to yet another presentation of hard ATS TV today the post 22 hard hats are going to play a rematch game at home here against the Gillette riders coming into this game the hard hats have an eight and six record and have won four of their last five Gillette on a little bit more of a skid but are still an impressive 19 and five earlier this season these two teams faced off in Gillette and the riters came out Victorious 5-2 both teams filled with plenty of talent we’ll see how it goes so let me give you the lineups here today for both teams starting off with Gillette riders or Gillette post 42 Riders leading off for them is shortstop Seth Peterson then he’s followed by third baseman Dominic Hecker at the two catcher Riley Schilling will bat third center fielder Mason droo will be fourth first baseman Carter or Carver partlo going to be at the five left fielder Riley Hawk is six right fielder Jared Black is seven the pitcher will be hitting eighth Kelby Foss and second baseman Mason Cub Walker going to be at the nine so to repeat the first three foret post 42 Short Stop Seth Peterson third baseman Dominic Hecker and catcher Riley Schilling the middle three center fielder Mason drew first baseman Carver parlo and left fielder Riley Hawk and the bottom three right fielder Jared Black pitcher Kelby Foss and second baseman Mason calker with Kelby Foss in the mound now for your Pro 22 hard hats leading off for them will be the third baseman Aiden Roberts followed by the center fielder jce Morgan who’s been on a tear lately third the first baseman Alex di will bat third third designated hitter Hayden hollik is the cleanup right fielder Aaron roach is at five left fielder take cross weight at 6 the catcher Philip Bensel B seventh second baseman Dawson inhofer will be at the eighth and the short stop Wilson kefir will be ninth with Hayden Lighty on the mound so to repeat the first three for the hard hats third baseman Aiden Roberts center fielder jce Morgan and first baseman Alex Dietrich the middle three designated hitter Hayden hollik right fielder Aaron Ro and left fielder take Crossway and the middle three or the bottom three catcher Philip B second baseman Dawson inhofer and shortstop Wilson kefir with the starting pitcher being Hayden Lighty lighty’s been great lately since coming back so there we go thank you all for tuning in to this presentation of hard hats TV hard Hat’s going to be wearing their usually Sunday Best But I didn’t wear them this Sunday so you know get them out as much as you can the powder blues um one of their better looks Gillette kind of faked me out they had they had red ones on earlier and they switched them and now they are gray with red lettering so there you go [Music] this will be a nine inning contest for the record I have that in the description but nine innings assuming there is no mercy rule which I feel like is a very confident assumption since the last one went 5 to2 in favor of Gillette and now they have to come out to post 22 territory and do it Gillette greatly improved from last season at least the last time we saw them ended up uh when they played last year post 22 went out to Gillette beat him 15 nothing and then they had a run while hosting the Northwestern Legion Regional made it all the way to the last day out of nowhere and then um returned a lot of people this year brought in I mean have a lot of star power brought up some good players and now they’re 19 and and six so it should be good hard hats eight and six hoping to get a get the better of these riders in the [Applause] rematch by [Music] Roberts third first all right going through the lineups here [Music] Remer Hayden Lighty going to be on the mound today for the hard hats Kelby Foss on the mound for [Music] Gillette it’s a fine afternoon here you’ll see that shadow gradually move across the diamond today give it a slightly wider view for everybody so that we can see the plays left and right of the um of the base lines this also means you might be able to see a coach tvy or Ying highlight if something is hit their way they may be in frame and make even catch that so some extra content for you [Music] [Applause] there so we’ll get a national anthem here I believe J the on the field ask you are able to stand please do and face the flag as we America by Sher [Music] [Music] [Music] and [Music] [Music] oh [Music] [Music] [Applause] that was a particularly good national anthem rendition I would say and now we’re going to get started top of the first inning coming up here the do up for Gillette post 42 Riders going to be short stop Seth Peterson third baseman Dominic Hecker and the catcher Riley Schilling I’ll give you a little fun facts about most of these Gillette people as we go by unfortunately we missed out on two games yesterday due to wet conditions up in Spearfish so those will be postponed and rescheduled to a later date luckily you know it happened in a place that wasn’t that far away still West River so it’s a lot easier to make up than if you were to have to travel you know or had started traveling and have to come back or whatnot for something pretty far and first all right Hayden Lighty on the mound he’s been pretty great lately honestly had a four um or pitched five shutout Innings or no four and 2/3 shutout Innings against Watertown in the game two of that Series this last weekend um that’s basically what I’m basing it off of um he had only pitched one in a third inning before that but against a very good Watertown team he was able to keep them quiet he’s now going to take on a very tough Gillette team as well probably slightly stronger than that Watertown team though as with all of it you know depending on pitching and who’s healthy and whatnot all right so dressed up in their gray with some faint red pin stripes Gillette going to come up to the plate um leading off for them the short stop Seth Peterson all right Lighty the first pitch delivered for a strike they call it it might have been a little outside but we’ll we’ll count it so 01 for Lighty The Rock You delivers in the dirt that’ll be a no contest ball there first pitch exactly 530 right on schedule the delivery another one outside B will handle it Benson Lighty a heck of a power battery two1 fouled off and that one will go back into the into the uh or against the batting cages behind home plate and it’s two2 vent sets up and that is hit high and to center field coming in after it Morgan makes the catch for out number one so Lighty able to retire Peterson for the first bat um first out of the game and it’ll bring up Dominic Hecker something to note about Hecker he is committed to Olympic College a Jo in Bremerton Washington for baseball so he’s going to be a Joo baseball player Junior College hello Liam nice to see you that one lined and just over the glove of Wilson kefir for a single kefir put everything he had into it all of that basketball um that basketball vertical he has and judging by that bet he can dunk that is a a solid uh effort but a single for Hecker and now it’ll bring up Riley Shilling Shilling going to sue falls in the fall committed to the University of sou Falls man on first don’t want to run on B curveball in the dirt ball one this is a nine inning game this is the Standalone game of this we did last time when the hard hats went out to Gillette it was a nine inning as well so this will be a nine inning game that changes the strategy somewhat one out hey fast ball grounded back up the middle hops over to short ke forets it steps on it throws to First in time and that’ll be a double play to end the top of the first so nobody scores for Gillette Riley Schilling hits into a 6-3 double play and so yeah that’ll do it for the inning for Gillette in that one one hit no runs no earned runs no hard hat ears nobody left on base and it remains z z hard Hat’s going to get their turn to responded possibly and I’ll just put this in the chat so that new people coming in can understand it and see that without me having to you know say it again so yeah nine and in game today when it’s a a standalone game like this where no other games are being played on either side of the day it makes sense to just do nine don’t play a lot of n in games but we’re doing so today so expect some relievers in the mix for both teams this is this is um Kelby Foss on the mound for Gillette Foss not the kind you would expect for a pitcher but he is a high school Sprinter at um Thunder Bas in high school in jillette does the 55 meter and the 200 meter so as we get ready the do up for the hard hats third baseman Aiden Roberts center fielder Jace Morgan and first baseman Alex Dietrich last time these guys played Roberts had two of the five hits on the game for the hard hats and scored an [Applause] RBI so there we go all right bottom of the first Foss getting ready to deliver the first pitch of the game smacked over to third he slips a little and throw to first in time on the money out number one is recorded that’s the second consecutive game that I’ve seen Aiden Roberts slip coming out of the box on the first pitch or on the first hit um he puts in play just kind of an interesting Trend so 5-3 put out will be the first out for Gillette it’ll bring up jce Morgan Morgan the Lefty had a great outing last game against Watertown he was actually our star of the series um for the Watertown series he only played two games Carter Johnson was a center fielder for the other one but in those two games he hit over five or he hit uh Ops of 1.55 six hit his first Homer of his career and had a three hit game that one is going to be laced into Center first pitch swung on and hit out there for the hard hats so it’s actually a pretty much Identical start for except for it’s a fly out you know it was a ground out not a fly out pretty much Identical start for both teams here and now he’s got to Hope D doesn’t head into a double play jce Morgan got plenty of speed and his bright blue batters mitt that one reached on and swung deep into left Center it’ll drop rounding second heading for third is going to be Morgan and he’s coming home the throw is not in time a good throw from the center fielder Dr droo but it did not matter hard hats on the board RBI double from Alex Dietrich it’ll bring up Hayden holik who has plenty of juice in his Bat as well holic went 0 for four in the game against Gillette earlier this year probably trying to get a little Revenge here off Foss Dietrich in scoring position still one out in the inning Foss gives him one swung on in lined into left it’ll get down Dietrich G to hold up and that’ll be a single so three consecutive hits for the hard hats reminder in the game in Gillette they had just five total and only scored two total runs they’re currently on three hits and one run and we only have one out in this game we’re only 127th of the way through this thing so hollik not exactly a stolen base threat that needs to be worried about too much but he can round the bases pretty well and Aaron roach up he likewise went 0 and four in Gillette at the strike delivered on the outside of the plate F not exactly bringing the the heat um in terms of velocity right now see plenty of Expos and Cadets watching from the stands throw back to First not in time holic apparently spooking them a little runers on the Corners one out bottom of the first inning Aaron roach up to bat Foss delivers swung on and softly hit to the left Center that’ll drop one more run will score the fourth hit in a row for these post 22 hard hats two on now still one out the hard hats scored as many as they did in nine innings their last time against this team roach and hollik both able to get their revenge on a first swing and will bring up take Crossway the big hard-hitting Lefty meanwhile catcher Riley Schilling going to have a quick shot quick chat with Kelby Foss uh at the mount trying to remedy whatever is going on with his stuff so two man on one out here in the bottom of the first F gives him one hit foul but hard so that’ll be the first swing without a hit in this game or second swing without a hit in this game Aiden Roberts ground out almost forgot but all right 01 count now here for Tate he had a pretty good series last time both defensively and offensively against Watertown this weekend oh one Bunch shown just got a piece of it right into the glove of the catcher so now it’s [Music] 02 if T gets a hold of one that thing can leave the yard he has not had a home run this year but it’s increasingly likely it feels that it’ll happen one of these days Foss delivers hit hard and foul bending first Baseline and out of play so remains o02 he’ll fight it off live to see another pitch pause checking the runner deep breath delivers at the knees but low not high enough take Crossway to last for for another one two one two swung on and hit hard down the line but foul just barely foul that was a blistered ball in deep right field went about 3 feet wide of the chalk so one two Foss trying to give him something he can’t get a piece of he just got a piece of it and in and out of the glove of Shilling he will survive not going to be a foul tip strike three he’ll get another pitch that is four foul ball so far in this at bat time called by Tate fos taking a little too long for his liking one two the at back continues F now ready no going to check back in big wind up that one is going to be flared into left and going back and he makes the grab so left fielder makes the grab and going to third he will be safe as take Cross or sorry Hayden holik so a fly out to Riley Hawk will move take cross weight or we’ll move um Hayden holik over to [Music] third that one had some serious potential but it felt like as it left the bad it kind of spun a little too much or something it did that thing where you like try to throw a paper airplane that doesn’t have the that isn’t bent right so it just kind of absorbs the wind instead of flying through it you hear what I’m saying probably not all right Runners on the corners two outs now here in the bottom of the first up to bat first AB Phil Philip B he’s looking Twitchy as always takes one in the dirt roach will stay he does have the speed to go if it were to get by the catcher Ayden holik lining up way outside the third Bas line here not really sure the strategy behind that taken just a little outside good job from bence to discern that one was an impostor so two well swing and a miss Strike One V a little too eager on that pitch swung through it before it got there so 2-1 roach could almost certainly score on an extra base hit here Foss gives him one and it’ll plunk Philip B on the side Bas is now loaded thing is about a nine inning game it’s a lot harder to um it’s a lot harder to pull a pitcher at the beginning of a n in in game um because then you got to do relief game for like the rest of it and that’s a lot so Dawson inhofer who had a great contact Series against Watertown and went one for three with an RBI against this um Gillette team last time they played that’s a strike will come up to bad with the bases loaded and two outs here in the bottom of the first hard hats cannot leave anything on the table here this Gillette team 19 and five for a reason one count to inhofer reaches and fouls it back now down in the count 02 fos has yet to put anybody away um via the K but this could be the time you never know inhofer had a great game too against Watertown made a couple double plays as well so 02 in the dirt chilling does a good job to keep that in front of him couldn’t allow it to get through any leaks in the boat will lead to an extra run one two count pitch in the dirt and Hur tips his Bat a little inspects it says no I’m not swinging at that one so two two count swinging a Miss on a high fast ball that’ll strand three B three runners so even though two run score for the hard hats an opportunity missed on a certain extent F gets his first K and gets out of the inning but he does allow two runs to score in a very high powered hitting bottom of the first for the hard hats will enter the top of the second now Gillette playing from behind recap that inning for the hard hats they have four hits turned into two runs both of them earned to the pitcher Foss no Gillette errors and three men left on um it’ll be two to nothing so far a very good start for the hard hats you’d have to think all right Lighty coming out for a second inning of work coming up to bat now is going to be Mason droo you may not recognize the name yet but droo the center fielder for this team and also a three star quarterback the number 43 in the class of 2025 he has offers for many power conference um Power conference programs 247 Sports has him currently going to Boston College he has offers from Oregon State Boston College Washington State Michigan State Wyoming North Dakota State Nevada Utah State and Montana State as well as a visit to Nebraska a very very highly sought after Wyoming recruit some say he could be the top recruit in Wyoming to come out over the last decade one count now he is a junior going on senior year so yeah he went out to Las Vegas to compete in the Elite 11 Quarterback Camp uh the little Regional Camp they had in Vegas um just last week that one low make it two so busy summer for him on a lot of fronts but still making time for the Legion Baseball which is nice Campbell County camels where my mom went to school actually two that’s a strike got strong Gillette connections um grandfather ran a or was the yeah ranom mine um The Eagle Mountain mine out there in let coine family live there I’ve been up there plenty of times swinging a Miss in the dirt make it two2 two two count droo awaiting Lighty gives him fast ball it gets by the bat no dinks to be heard and that’ll be a k he overpowers the first batter of the inning and of the day so first k for Lighty and it’ll bring up Carver partlo partlo a progyny of two Wayne State um Collegiate athletes so he’s got plenty of athletic prowess in his blood his father Ben was um played golf at Wayne State and his mother um Christine played some um played basketball that one is crushed into Right Center that might get back to the wall he’s rounding first headed for second the coff man going to get it he will stay there but a double from Carver partlo will start off the hitting for the inning uh on the Gillette side of things Riley Hawk going to come up to bat he did not play in the first time these T these two teams met so his first time seeing post 22 this year if at all runner on second one out here hard hats only have a two-run lead got to protect it Lighty first pitch is going to be flared in the left it’ll drop partlo being told around T Crossway throws one to the cutof man he will not make an attempt home and the riters now on the board with an RBI single from Riley Hawk all right riders on the board in the tying run on the base paths Jarrett black now up the right Fielder batting number seventh or batting seven Hawk looking like he’s getting ready to take off that’s a strike low in the zone yeah black looking like he’s getting ready to take off there or partlo no Hawk Hawk sorry so 01 count Hawk Bunch shown he’ll pull back throw back to First not going to be in time he did not pull it back my apologies that makes it 02 he offered but missed hopefully that guy didn’t get in our frame okay we seem to be fine O2 lady looking for a second K black pops it out of play it’ll remain o02 so 02 count Hotel pitch is going to be hit hard right at the center fielder Morgan he’ll make the grab throw it in and that’ll be out number to that was a hard hit ball good launch angle on it but unfortunately for black it was directly at center fielder jce Morgan so second out of the inning it’ll bring up the pitcher Kelby Foss I gu said Foss Sprinter he has considerable speed down the line so wouldn’t be totally shocked if you see a bunt or an infield single here strike delivered outside corner that was a well-located pitch for Lighty Foss keeping that head level taken High 1-1 something about that stance for Foss head never dips eyes stay the same place pretty much the whole time it seems that’s a solid strategy for tracking but it should be noted that you know fouled off no neck movement probably going to hurt you in some way I don’t know I feel like that would strain your neck over time as do these explosive swings he’s got it like a chicken like that and stays in the same spot no matter where you move it all right onew count Lighty looking to put the hard hats out of this inning the pitch slightly low good eye there from Kelby fos takes a pitcher to know a pitcher I guess F waiting on [Music] it Mighty winds up and delivers they will line it over the glove of Wilson keeper into Center Morgan gets it throws to the cutoff man and that’ll be a single yet again kefir just barely too short to grab that um to grab that ball they’ve been sneaking ones just by kefir kefir seems to be practicing that straight up jump and stretch um maneuver and trying it every time there are plenty of Short Stops who wouldn’t even give an attempt to that so fos gets a single and now the tying run just 90 ft away Mason kacher The nine-hole Hitter now coming up to bat this is why they’re so good versatile good offense good defense and deep Lighty first pitch inside Cub Walker braces for impact oh it does not hit him it’s ryers team looking to compete with Cheyenne post six for the um for the Wyoming title this year I suppose they do every year but still of course you still got Casper to worry about and Sheridan maybe Cody I don’t know two the pitch fouled off that was a strike right down the right down the middle Cub AER just got underneath that thing to foul it off for the first strike at the atat so 2-1 Lighty delivers bounces one in the dirt the runner will stay but now the count runs to 3-1 on Deck is the leadoff man Seth Peterson this really does feel like a re cash of the bottom of the first minus that early um early run looks like maybe you could put um load the bases with two outs um same way but maybe postway 2 won’t be as lucky Lighty gives him a strike gives him something to chew on he gets a piece of it and knocks it just a little bit foul Full Count now for Lighty got to stay calm and collected Full Count byy delivers popped up into right field foul territory three men chasing after it and it will drop harmlessly foul that was playable but just far enough away from everybody that nobody could get to it before it landed you saw inhofer Dietrich and and uh roach chasing after that one so Lighty will get a new ball and continue his at bat here with Cub Walker everybody’s going to run no matter the situation here Full Count that one fouled back out of play and it will remain a Full Count this is been a very competitive at bat with Lighty and Cub Walker and it’s a pivotal one in the course of this game Lighty sets up delivers and it’ll be low Ball [Applause] [Music] Four pet bases are loaded for the leadoff man Peterson now last time up he flew out to center fielder Jace Morgan in a routine flyy out now he’s got Bases Loaded two outs big game changing at bat here he reaches and Pops one into shallow Center that’ll get down Morgan Scoops it and they will keep um Foss over on third but the tying run will score for the Riders Peterson RBI [Applause] single Bas is still loaded for now Dominic Hecker who last time up had a single right over the head of Wilson keeper called strike on the outside I got to say say that that that plate slightly extended on the outside or closer to the left uh left-hander batter Box by this umpire today high curve ball does not break moves it to 11 one one- one count Lighty strike right nope they’ll call it a ball okay that looked like a strike from here having seen a ton of strikes from this exact angle but umpire gives it a ball moves to 2-1 Lighty outside 3-1 that’s that ball call could mean uh could give Gillette the lead here if he’s if light is not careful looks like Jaden Marino going to start warming up in the bullpen fouled back and the count runs full I see one of the parents just got spooked by the PA class sound effect all right Full Count the payoff pitch swing and a miss on the curveball Whitey keeps the nerves calm and is able to strike out the batter Hecker with nobody coming home with the bases loaded so the game is tied up now jaled able to recoup their two runs that they allowed in the bottom of the first but hard Hat’s now going to have a chance to make the um to give themselves yet another lead big pitch there from Hayden Lighty to strike out the batter and St on the bases so recap that ending for Gillette four hits two runs both of them earned no hard hat errs three men left on an identical um identical summary to the bottom of the first for the hard hats things just happened in a different order so it’s 2 two hard Hat’s looking to keep um hitting as well as they have been Wilson kef are going to lead this one off the Northern Colorado commit a good defensive and offensive Short Stop he’s got a couple siblings I believe I know Lars Kefir is in the Expos or is on the Expos right now looking to be a very good power speed guy also playing center field so excited to see him in the coming years Wilson the star of the show right now Wilson kefir three sport athlete baseball I want to say football and then basketball of course he’s really good um was the Rapid City High School athlete of the year um playing for Rapid City Christian this year so I of an athlete put his resume against pretty much any of the rest of these guys Keir his last time that he played Gillette though did go 0 for four with two strikeouts and an error defensively keeper getting ready first pitch swung on and tipped back to the netting still 01 he checks swings on one and it just finds its way to the barrel an unlucky accidental foul ball there for him you hate to see it it is one of the funnier plays in Baseball though so kefir down 02 against his own volition FS rocks high pitch outside one two so Keir going hope to work his way back into this count PA gives him one it is a check swing just over the pitcher’s head over to second base to throw to first just got him a close play there but Cub Walker able to field it and throw it in time that was nearly a very cramped claustrophobic infield single instead it’ll be a 43 put out for the first out of the inning and now Aiden Roberts back up 0 for one in the game so far but he is lead off for a reason Foss throws one in the dirt Roberts not going to entertain that one swung on and hit hard in the Deep Right Center that’ll get through it finds the Gap Roberts has the speed he’s rounding second they’re losing the ball Roberts has a chance in an inside the Parker and he will be told to hold up the ball had not yet reached the infield a standup triple for Aiden Roberts he could have gone it would have been a risky play I get that and I get coach torvi you know you got one out you’d rather have him come home with one of the other guys but that could have been an inside the Parker for Aiden Roberts in all uh reality given his speed and the pace he was at Jace Morgan now up he is one for one with a single his last time up oh my gosh that one about 18 in below going through the concession stand window and into the popcorn machine that could have been a real issue first pitch was a strike though Morgan on a tear lately as I mentioned had his first hard hat home run on Mother’s Day this Sunday also had um a couple good walks in there and three total hits slugged over 1500 low pitch taken for ballon [Applause] Foss not having his best outing so far that one also low Morgan doesn’t like it that way would prefer they’re a little more Central so we can get a piece of them so 3-1 count now he takes one on the inside yet again and that will walk him so a very fast Jace Morgan reaches base via walk he’s reached base both times now and it’ll bring up Alex Dietrich hard hats looking like they’re going to get another run or two on the board this inning if things go well well Dietrich is last time up had an RBI double and came around to score ball taken just a little outside though with the Umpire today I honestly would have expected that to be called a strike he’s been given a lot of preference to um that outside of the plate from the right right batters box that one reached on and drilled over to Second handled Cub Walker then throw to first in time double play and nobody will score for the hard hats in the bottom of the second the game remains tied on a clutch double play um from Cub Walker over to Peterson and finally over to partlo um at first so that Roberts kept it third thing not did not pay off and now the game remains noted and I might add both teams with five hits and two runs pretty much an identical scoreboard except it’s like a a domino pattern um with the O2 and 20 of the two teams very interesting I’m going to take a photo of that it’s a very interesting um scoreboard to look at also a very pretty scoreboard of course here at Fitzgerald field or Fitzgerald Stadium Dave Bluefield 463 double play Oh recap that inning for the hard hats one hit it’s the Aiden Roberts triple no run score no earned runs no errors on this Gillette Riders team and two men are left on it remains two to two so still noted up after two innings top of the third up coming and leading off going to be the catcher Riley Schilling plenty of Schillings have come through this program case Schilling is on the bench and um of course Riley going to uh two falls in the fall he will play against his older brother um I believe Colt Schilling uh who is now who graduated last year and is now at um Augustana University in South Dakota here both of them coming east of the Border moves to an O2 count Shilling is last time up grounded out into a double play hard hit ball foul out of the park goes 02 the pitch high and inside almost got a piece of him good job to limbo out of the way there from Shilling the pitch Cur ball in the dirt not able to get Shilling to bite we have a pair of pitchers warming up in the bullpen right now Eli Kelly among them Eli the relief Ace for the hard hats First Team all South Dakota last year two2 fast ball fought off and the at bat will continue light’s pitch count definitely being um driven up here today by the plentiful foul balls coming from from this chillet team it’s not that he hasn’t gotten Balls by him it’s that strike three is hard to get to as I say that the curve ball gets him to whiff and schilling goes down on strikes the third strike out of the day for Hayden Lighty Mason Dro football star the camel Commander as one may say Captain camel Tak it high one out I’ve been to humph out in Gillette as I mentioned my mom went to Gillette um went to Cable County High School when it was the only High School in town no Thunder base and that one is going to be tattooed into Center but right at Morgan yet again that’s two times now A Hard hit ball has gone out to the Outfield but Morgan’s just been luckily right there to make the play unfortunate for droo very fortunate for the hard hats and still nobody on in this inning Carver Parlow now up or Port low last time up he hit a double and came around to score recording the second hit of the game now an 01 count just a little high almost found its way back into the Zone scared portla away from the pitch away from the plate but curveball just a little inside yet again Port very quick to tuck back into his shell and duck for cover you have to wonder if he’s been hit by a pitch really hard lately seems like he’s having some to third they’ll handle it throw to first knock going to be anywhere close infield single for Dawson inhofer inhofer also a stolen base threat though though I think he’s going to be a little more um reluctant to use it um with Shilling on the mound or Shilling behind the plate like I said Shilling about 6’5 he’s got some serious heat on his fast ball is 81 he’s got a lot of speed on his pit or on his uh pitches and also on his um throws to second and third and hofer’s got the speed though that’s why they’re checking in on him they throw it back again and Hofer easily safe but they’re trying to send a message I don’t think inhofer is going to learn um I think he’s going to keep leading off just like he likes it he’s not wearing his little glove right now though still looking for a first just a little high on most batters that would have been a strike but kacher I’m guessing an underclassman a little bit um small in stature so one1 called strike on the edge of the plate that’s that extended Strike Zone near the first base line or near the Leander batter box Eli delivers curveball just a little high like I said on pretty much any other batter on either team in this game that is a strike but kabaker with a smaller Strike Zone has lower to the ground 22 cball misses outside and we run full Kelly’s thrown a lot of really good pitches in this at bat um but he’s got to watch out pitch strike Mareno done a great job of getting that first pitch strike and getting ahead in the count so far which has been a a key to his success so an 0 one curveball a little out outside one one out of play so for the third time this inning first pitch strike you should look at the splits the difference between an 01 count and a 10 count is the difference between being like Barry Bonds and like Derek Dietrich or like I don’t know Jung hul king or something so one- one count grounded right back up the middle and it will get through so not a spotless inning here for Mar as Hecker gets a single but it’ll bring up um Brian Schilling who is having a rough day at the plate 0 for four so far if he can get out of this it would give the part of the hard hats order um a good chance to score the Run they need and tie things up if not take the lead pitch smacked up the line Roberts backhand grab throw to first perfect and that will be the inning fantastic play from Roberts backhand grab off a weird bounce and then he throws a strike with good velocity across the entirety of the infield way before the batter even gets there so now bottom of the eighth hard hats going to bring up their two three and four that’s Morgan Dietrich and poock oh some adjustments on the defensive end part low going back to first I think that I think that Foss is just gone yeah Foss just go to the or is he going behind the plate no Foss is gone Schilling still back there or it doesn’t matter they’re doing warm-up pitches but they have a new pitcher part low still at first or back at first after a very good relief outing on the mound we got number 14 a new player into the game which which explains foss’s movement out of the lineup is Grayson sergeant so Sergeant on the mound for the eighth inning here heart low goes back to First and it will mean that Foss is going to be removed from the um eight hole of the lineup for sergeant I believe Sergeant some sort of makes a commit to somebody let me double check yeah University of Jamestown in North Dakota is where he is committed to play after this year the right-handed pitcher so chance for it’s not going to be an easy um not going to be probably any relief from partlo as you get Sergeant who if I were to guess is their closer he’s definitely coming in to close this game out but going to be a a tough one to get through he has to get by Jace Morgan who is three or two for three on the day with a walk as well he scored two runs strike delivered on the outside edge to the Lefty Morgan Morgan two runs um including an infield single and an RBI 01 bun shown it’s a good one but maybe a little strong scooped up at third throw to first not going to be in time Morgan legs it out his second field single this one a bunt single and the leadoff man is aboard exciting play there and now it’ll bring up Dietrich Dietrich two for four on the game with an RBI double back in the first and just two innings ago had a um single got all the way to third before getting left there swing and a miss strike one Morgan hasn’t stolen a base yet but I wouldn’t be shocked if he took off he is very fast 01 to Dietrich Dietrich the RBI leader on the season for the hard hats extra base hit would tie things up unless it’s a homer and it would take the lead High bouncer up the middle it is muffed by the short stop Peterson and the hard hats breathe a sigh of relief as now two men on and still nobody out on what could have been a double play that is a costly error from Peterson he plac his glove a little too high and maybe started to look into the first baseman before watch seeing the glove or seeing the ball into his glove so that’ll be an E6 the second one of the game for Peterson and that’ll allow instead of a double play two men on nobody out and the go-ahead run and tying run both aboard for Hayden holik the cleanup man with a couple messy bases for him to look at so hollly is two for three on the day with a walk as well he’s been very good and the cleanup man with two Runners on Big Moment here Sergeant checks back no bo I don’t know what box are anymore I don’t think I ever knew but I really don’t know now I thought it was when you started your motion and you you didn’t throw a pitch I don’t know doing something’s coming out of his pocket he’s got to tuck it back in something like that holl still waiting for the with two RBI trying to bring in everybody here a single might bring in the go-ahead run honestly Dietrich a surprisingly fast uh or I suppose I shouldn’t say surprising for a first baseman he’s very fast 01 taken high at the top of the shoulders 111 on Deck take cross high in inside he’ll back off from the plate and it’s a 2-1 first baseman playing in thinking maybe there could be a bunt situation try to do a squeeze play this could end up biting him though roach has a lot of a lot of Outfield ground that he can hit it now with the right fielder playing pretty deep that is hit High into the sky and left Center going back is going to be Hawk he’ll make the grab everybody moving up a base the cut off man no throw comes and the game is tied up on another sack fly from Aaron roach that’s just the first out of the inning as well roach doing a great job of just getting hard contact bringing in those Runners he’s up to three RB in the day Dietrich now on third a play he’s been
