Bryson in the mix to win a major championship once again you look at where Bryson has been in the major championships 2024 and where he is after the Masters and where he is right now if you remember he had a good start with the Masters and then ultimately finish TI for six he’s in position and In Contention to try to win a major championship again I asked Bryson after his round just how important for momentum that chip in was on 18 yeah I feel like I’ve got a great chance tomorrow I’m very excited to be able to knock that one in instead of being two under shooting four under was uh pretty exhilarating for me and give me a lot of um uh positive power for tomorrow I’m really excited for the opportunity for sure what do you feel like you have done well through 54 holes and and is there anything you’d like to do a little better tomorrow yeah I’m driving it somewhat well um a couple Miss Miss t- shots today in five and six for the most part I kept it in play pretty well and uh irons need to be better if I can focus on one thing it’s the that iron play and it’s a user era not the clubs and I got to focus on on improving that golf swing join now by golf channel.com senior writer Rex hogard you know it’s fun to cover Bryson Shambo we’ve been talking about this for a while uh he he is so unique he’s got irons that have rounded faces on them in the equipment business it’s called bulge they’re unique he designed them and he’s got a chance to win once again I talked to him you talk to him too what did he give you after his round I walked with him to the range and this is not breaking news but rys and D Shambo was the last person on the Range last night he worked well into the darkness and when I asked him what he found he said he found something with his dri and he showed up this morning so excited and just like happens so often it wasn’t there when he teed off he struggled with his driving but he said he fell back on something that was comfortable he called it his 58 feel and that of course goes to when he shot 58 in the live event last year at The Greenbrier he said essentially he feels his best with the driver when he’s swinging a little bit from inside out hits it a little bit further out on the toe and he was able to get it around and get a good score in and he also talked about his equipment like he always does the content fountain that he is he addressed those bulge and roll faced irons that you and I talked so much about at Augusta he said they’re still in the bag he’s very comfortable with them right now he said the trouble is with the woods because he swings so fast and the tolerances are so high he’s having a hard time sort of dialing those in and he is struggling there but it’s a struggle that you and I both know that he loves and even with those variables which he hates he’s looking forward to tomorrow and I have sensed not only this week but at Augusta as well a maturity from Bryson seems more emotionally in control and that should benefit him tomorrow okay you and Ryan lavner have this great podcast you work so hard on it I mean it is some good listening tonight what are you going to talk about on the podcast uh a lot of golf and a lot of that leaderboard I think what we have going into Sunday is special this is my fourth championship I’ve covered here and it’s never disappointed and tomorrow’s going to be more of the same
