Play Better Golf – Hard Pan Bunker Shots

Do you struggle with bunker shots? What about hard pan bunker shots? You know the type of bunkers you see at your local muni, the ones that feel like you are hitting off cement… well this video is for you! In this video I show you that golf can be easy, and that you need to use the tools that you have in the ways they were intended to be used. When you are in the hard pan bunker on a golf course, you need to have a good set up. You want your feet about shoulder width apart, the ball in the middle of your stance (not too far forward, not too far back), club face is almost square a little open but not too open, club selection you want the highest loft with the lowest bounce (very important), and the mindset is to not try and help the ball up but stay down and swing all the way through.

Let me know if this helps you, and if you have any more questions please reach out below.

have you ever been in a situation like this if you have trouble with hard pan bunker shots this video is for you all right first things first let’s talk about the setup feet are going to be about shoulder width apart ball is going to be about in the middle of your stance not too far forward not too far back your Club face is going to be almost Square maybe slightly open but definitely not a lot open Club selection I like to use the highest lofted club with the lowest bounce it’s very important with hard pan that you don’t use a high bounce wedge and if it’s high score up the face now the mindset the key is not trying to help the ball up stay down stay through it all right let’s give this a try got a high lip I’m going to square up my club face just a little bit it’s going to be a normal bunker swing swinging all the way through there we go and remember from hard pan you don’t have to swing very hard the ball goes pretty far nice and light trust it there we go so if you’re having trouble out of hard pan bunker shots remember the setup the Club selection and the mindset let me know in the comments below if you have any questions or if any of these tips have helped you thanks for watching we’ll see you in the next video

  1. I got so good at these because these bunker conditions were all my local courses had! Just recently, they filled all the bunkers at my home course with SUPER fluffy sand, and it took me a good amount of time to adjust. RIP my cheap muni bunker game.
