golf’s biggest question when and why should you change your golf clubs let’s go through some golf clubs to talk about when and why you might possibly choose to change so let’s go irons to kick it off two very contradiction irons here bladed iron to a very modern cavity backs are older to newer now the reason why you might change your irons you might have bought your irons when you were younger you know 19 going then on the college uni and play these and then you come back to golf maybe slightly older not as practice other commitments that might be a bit punishing something like this might offer a bit more help so you might change the style of it also some golfers are going through a journey of improvement or the opposite way that again might be a reason to try and change an I am for different launches different spins different feel of confidence as you look down at the ball literally different amounts of Moi where they try to keep the ball uh speed up on the face when you miss hit so iron definitely I think are something that can be considered changing if you are changing other reasons if you just want something bright and shiny and new absolutely fine gol’s fun go and enjoy it it’s your leisure activity or you’re just having a Tor time with your irons getting a new set of irons won’t make it any better but it might make you practice a little harder that might might actually make you play a little better what about drivers they change a lot don’t they you might have something like the old tailor made and you’re thinking of the new tailor made now Technologies are shifting on with golf clubs and the manufacturers will tell you they’re improving every step subject to how old your driver is you don’t need to change it to do subject to if you’re like 5 years old you probably got Tech that’s going to compete with modernday tech but some people change the way they swing they now hit up where they used to hit down at the ball and they might have a loft that can’t be changed enough to now get them the right launches which is where a new driver might suit you better you might have had an injury where you can’t swing it as fast anymore a different weight of shaft might make difference and even weight of head you might want a new piece of tech that a manufacturer has released you might really buy into the carbon feel of the carbon face on the new Qi 10 over the titanium sound feel of M2 you might want to buy into that and other manufacturers do the same things where they change materials and you like the way that sounds and feels you might change your changes to your swing your performance definitely can move the needle when it comes to changing your driver what and that’s the same with Fairway Woods as well Fairway Woods people do change them less and I do think looking at your Fairway WS to make sure you’re getting the right launch from different lies certainly if your Swing Swing speeds going up or coming down which it has for lots of people over the years as we get older we generally get a bit slower have more friendlier Fairway word or hybrid might be a help as well what about wedges where the technology and wedges might change and they will say it changes I think just the fact that the groes do wear down think about the groes of these kind of I mean there’s there’s rules on how sharp the grooves can be but they’re like a curve you know at the side of the street and the more rounded and wear away they got basically that definition of that line between face and groove wears off the Milling on the face between the grooves is as important as the grooves that wears down that gives grip to your ball when you strike it so a new wedge or set of wedges over old can absolutely move the needle in spin numbers subject to how old your clubs are and then putters well sometimes it’s as really as basic as you just want a different shape you want a traditional shape you want something like a two ball whatever you want something bigger smaller bigger lines that absolutely can shift the needle in confidence if it does in performance is up to you to test over time but changing a Putter and a feel for someone who’s certainly wobbly with their putter might make a difference when it comes to changing any equipment it’s up to you and the decisions are all yours and fine but there are definitely needle shifts to be had within the groups of manufacturers and their game improvement to their better players their higher launching lower launching clubs what have you for players to find some improvements that will reflect out on scores out on the golf course and make you enjoy your golf more

  1. I'm always looking in case something works better for me🙂. I don't often change but I enjoy the fun of the process!

  2. Id love to change my whole bag though would rather go new. My current setup, unfitted, Cleveland Ti460 driver, Cleveland Hi-bore fairway, Cleveland CG Tour 3i-PW irons, 56/60 CG10 wedges. Is fitted/gapping beneficial for parttime golfer?
