Scotty sheffler returns from maternity leave Rory maoy is coming off of a win John ROM works kka and the rest of the live guys will join up to face all of the PGA guys at the PGA Championship welcome to tea time I am 8 from wagertalk.com joining me as always my fellow golf betting expert Nick Borman from wagertalk.com Nick um I’m gonna start with this most polarizing story this week for the first time in a long time I feel like it’s not Tiger Woods in a tiger wood tournament that he’s playing in I feel like Rory is coming off of the win is is pretty polarizing uh Scotty Sher coming off of the master win and then promptly winning the week after that now he just at his first baby is polarizing is Tiger even third on this list what I don’t know what do you think the big storylines are for this week I mean for us I think the answer is different than what the broadcast will probably do I mean they have to show tiger they have to go deep into them and they and they will it hasn’t been a lot yet uh but I know the coverage will definitely circle around them come Wednesday into Thursday Friday but I think the biggest story in in in golf right now is Rory Resurgence Rory struggled this season uh he’s a defending champion at Valhalla 10 years ago two won back toback events you forgot the Zurich where he carried Lowry right so he’s won his last two oh my go uh you know that’s I think that’s the bigger story that the PJ should focus on I mean Scotty is Scotty he’s just not he’s not on the level yet of roor R right I mean Rory’s been think about this Valla 10 years ago he won this thing and he’s still one of the best players in the world 10 years later I mean that level of just consistency for that long a period of time just speaks a lot to uh his ability and where he’s been and how good he’s been I don’t want to say how good he’s been but how important he’s been for the game um as being you know trying to be that next guy after tiger which obviously do but I think that’s the biggest story is Rory um it certainly got my attention and I’m like man actually is playing kind of well well now I was going to he was a complete fate for us for a while but now it’s like all right you got to pay attention so I think that’s the big story yeah I mean you could also throw in Brooks kka trying to defend his title but uh I don’t know based on how bad he was at the Masters that’s not very like that’s uh did you even know that he won the live the last live event did you even know that like anybody know that over I found out three days later yeah yeah John ROM I mean after his performance of the Masters I don’t find him that polarizing um my sneaky my sneaky storyline that could be pretty good is what if ludc abar is leader board again God I love lud I love L yeah I feel like he might be the sneaky fun storyline that just kind of comes out of nowhere he he he kind of took us by storm at the Masters so I feel like a great performance from him that could be um that could be a really fun one as well and um we’ll get to it uh I I don’t want to I don’t want to I don’t want to step on your toes but your outright winner for this week is another potential great storyline I love that so we’ll talk about him a little bit later so uh we’re gonna give out an outright winner uh we’re also I’m gonna give out a guy a bigname guy who I think he’s gonna miss the cut we’ll do that in players I can trip you up we’ll do some Draft Kings Darlings oh yeah oh yeah we’ll do a top finishing position as well but first Nick let’s get into the course um balla here uh this thing’s a beast it’s an absolute Monster uh it is definitely set up for the long hitters as a lot of these PGA Championship courses are even though they play these PGA championships at different courses they all do kind of share very similar characteristics um this is just barely over 7600 yards of par 71 um the fairways it’s it’s insane nick uh Fairways are pretty wide definitely some trees along some of the fairways that are going to cause some problems On Wayward shots the GR pass in the fairways you know if it wasn’t going to rain this week they were going to promote kind you know a lot of rolling uh maybe the ball rolls into the rough but it looks like it’s going to be a fairly soft uh course Fairways and greens with the amount of rain that we’re g to get Monday Tuesday and Wednesday um normally on these longer courses I would say the accuracy off the te isn’t that important but I actually Nick really think that accuracy off the te is going to be important with the length of some of these par fours and these par fives the approach shots into the greens are going to be so long that if you’re coming out of rough where you’ve got to try to bend it around a tree it’s going to be so hard to get it to Land close and some of these greens are absolutely massive so even if you do land on the green and the pin is on the other side of the green you could have an easy three putt uh coming your way so I I think off the te its power and its accuracy so um uh I I keep an eye on that the bombers can’t just let it rip and play it wherever it lands um greens I think look to be pretty tough lots of Mounds bumps level changes the amount of rain we get this week is really going to determine how much the players can stop or spin the ball coming into the greens not a lot of Birdie opportunities um let’s go over a couple of the favorite holes of mine when I went through the hole by hole on this course I do like the uh the fourth hole the Par Four it’s only 372 yards this is going to be obviously the shortest Par Four but outside of the par 3es this is one of the few holes where players are going to have a a wedge coming into the green um see this this photo right here that landing area really Narrows down between a couple bunkers I think you’re going to see guys go three-wood off of um off of this te and try and set up um you know a little bit of a shorter wedge shot but for the shorter players like guys like Brian Haron come to mind this is one of those holes where I think they really got to take advantage take advantage of their good iron play in their good putting game because a lot of these holes are just going to overpower the shorter players so I’m interested to see how some of these guys attack the fourth hole we’ll jump all the way towards the end of the course uh hole 16 this thing I love this hole Nick this this is my favorite hole like this is one of the fairways that’s a little bit tighter and there’s just trouble all around like if you put this in the rough and you do not put in the Fairway you got trees you got rough you got all kinds of uh of disastrous um things in your way coming in for the approach so um when I look at this I don’t it’s over 500 yards they can’t really like I I guess you could use three-wood if you’re really worried about accuracy but you know here’s the thing this green is a big one so just getting it on the green doesn’t necessarily mean aart I think this one’s going to play really tough I think it’s going to be one of the toughest ones I would expect most guys be playing this one overp par uh when all is said and done and then finally the last hole is just a great finishing hole it sets up beautifully for some drama it’s ho 18 it’s a par five but it’s getable into two especially if you can hit the Fairway so the Fairway bends to the right as you can see you got to hit the Fairway in order to have a legit shot at um at Eagle here but if the score is close on Sunday like this could be an amazing finishing hole in the final group if you’ve got you know a couple guys up up near the top so green is massive so the pin placement is is going to be drastically different every single day which makes that second shot uh really really fun so uh whole four whole 16 and whole 18 are my three favorites Nick what do you have to add about uh Valhalla you I’m gonna I’m gonna jump on your point about uh distance and how that’s going to factor into this week obviously the course is long it’s 7600 hours as you said you know all of Augusta and then some it could play longer with software conditions uh as you mentioned th Tuesday and Wednesday going in right now they’re scattered thunderstorms both days so that definitely could have a factor on it playing longer also a little easier as you said typically softer conditions you’re you’re not worried about the roll outs and Bs rolling through the Fairway off the green whatever um so it’ll be interesting to see that but just in general you mentioned you know it’s distances here but you made a point about you know accuracy and how important that is the rough is long if you go back 10 years ago to the last time it was played here uh Rory obviously was the winner he was fresh on the scene he was a bomber the the game that we know today was not the game it was back then they’ve added 150 yards roughly to the course since then not a crazy amount but something to try to keep up with the times that have changed um and the players that have come along and really changed the Distance game since then I mean you look at the Lista there was 34 players that played in that year that are in this year’s field Rory obviously is there tiger obviously there Capco was his first PGA Championship 10 years ago uh so he’s going for his fourth win obviously he’s sucess there but guys like obviously Scotty Sheffer John ROM Justin Thomas morawa hins alores Bryson and all his length these guys weren’t even around they weren’t even on the circuit yet uh so it the game is a lot different back then and when it goes to distance it’s interesting to see if this play this this is what happened back then I wonder if it’s goingon to play out this year so of all the courses in rotation that particular year on the on the season valala ranked as the 11th shortest average driving distance which is kind of interesting knowing that the course was long even back then at 70 over almost 7500 yards but it was hit it was played as a a shorter average drive so guys weren’t really trying to you know bombing as far as they can because there is a penalty here for you know getting in the rough as there is any major championship especially when you’re hitting into longer clubs into greens you got long second shots it is a huge advantage to be hitting out of the Short Grass of course if you can hit it far and keep it in the straight there’s another huge advantage to hit you know an eight iron versus a a four iron so um there is still advantage to distance it will be interesting to see if anybody’s dialed back a little bit or if the game has evolved that much um from how it played on average last time to what it looks like this this time and where that distance kind of factors in and maybe where it falls in the in this the whole entire season as far as average distance off the te for a particular tournament so that was my one kind of like you know I don’t know what exactly to expect I know the data says guys were sacrificing distance last time around I don’t know if they’re going to do that this time um but it was interesting to note and then uh you know it’s a jack neckolas design it’s tough It’s You know the greens are fast the rough is thick the greens itself are only 5,000 square feet which is actually below the two or average Andy so again you’re talking about long irons a lot of long shots into small greens again another premium where I do think um you know coming out of the Fairway is going to be very very important and it’s rare to say that getting a five iron out of Fairway versus maybe an eight iron out of the rough is an advantage but when you when you’re trying to get the ball to stop you can’t put spin on it with with rough it does matter so again it’ll be interesting to see how that plays out uh but but I I agree with you that you know the length is there it’s going to be a huge advantage to be long I just don’t know if anybody’s GNA be willing to dial it back because in history has proven it’s well worth it and I think did you mention the par par 71 I think he did stock par 71 three par five so it’s stock standard I don’t see many wedges in hands this week unless maybe the third shot of a five outside of that that’s exactly right the second shot on that on that Par Four and third shots on the par five that’s about it those wedges are going to be real clean by correct uh couple other random notes uh 156 players in the field the biggest field this is definitely the deepest field of the major championships and Masters you know really there’s only like 30 people that have a legitimate chance this one they have the 21 Club professionals which also always makes a nice storyline Michael block of course everybody got you know annoyed with him and all the Cs got last year and still around the scene he’ll be there again this week so be interesting to see how that goes and for those betting the make or miscut markets Andy nope this is old school rule so top 70 and ties will make the weekend as opposed to the newer rule of 65 we already talked about the weather so I won’t hit too much on that it does look like rain this is my thought process on the weather right now Andy you can’t predict when the thunderstorms are going to happen right Friday looks like a good thunderstorm day maybe they happen a little later morning maybe it’s in the afternoon who’s going to impacted I don’t know but Wednesday and Thursday is expected rain expected thunderstorms forget the timing if that does indeed happen and we can wait I would expect the golf courses that it’s easiest on Thursday and will then just continue to get harder and harder as the week goes on I mean maybe the rain on Friday will keep it a little easier but I’m looking at the morning wave on Thursday as something where if you’re doing first round leader bets that’s going to be your key because the softer it’s going to be on that morning the better uh I don’t know if it’ll matter over the course of four days depending on what happens on Friday but just a thought procast I’m gonna trying to weigh out in my head and figure out but that’s where I’m at right now love it we’ve got a couple of really great promo codes uh for everybody coming up here in just a bit so you can grab all of my official PGA Championship plays as well as Nick’s official PJ Championship plays but you guys know the drill if you could hit the like button and leave us a comment big week tell us who you like uh if you hear something that you disagree with let me know in the comments section I’ll do a friendly little head-to-head uh with everybody we had a lot of fun at the Masters uh I think we did think we did some in uh think we did a couple head-to heads in the the chat or the comment section I think we did a top live bet uh in the comment section so tell us who you like and uh please hit that like button it really helps us out don’t forget to hit the Bell you get notified when all of our G gambling content comes out on the wager talk YouTube channel so uh let’s talk a little bit about the total Strokes gained um this is this is an interesting chart here because it takes all of all of the stats into account here for total stroke gain so Nick walk us through this chart tell us what you notice on here but I don’t know are there are there some stats that are more important this week uh than others so uh walk us through this chart what’s your take on the total strokes this week yeah total Strokes gain not a huge surprise of who’s on the list obviously your top few guys are going to mirror the odds board um I’ve mentioned before as we get into the majors that at some point and it’s clearly happening now that this graphic isn’t necessarily representing what the odds board’s going to show because the live guys are just not getting strok gain data in there Bryson does have a little bit of data in there and actually falls within that top 12 because he’s had a couple good performances in the majors over the last 12 months aside from that you know capka even with his win last year at the PGA Championship is not in this list so I don’t know if I’ll I’ll I’ll some point I’ll have to start to change this a little bit and maybe this will be more reflective of an odds board in a major or maybe I’ll do it two different ways versus the top 10 Strokes because I just don’t know how exactly accurate this is in measuring you know the best players in the field uh because it is it’s again it’s hard to measure that right now but anyway this is the what I think what’s more important here is not necessarily ranking the players but seeing the the trends that they are are producing obviously Scotty we know he’s just he’s great he’s been great he continues to be great he’ll keep being great it is what it is uh Rory kind of had a little dip to beginning the season you can see that from his 12 month number down to a six-month number where it dipped and now it’s starting to creep back up three-month number as he’s uh won a couple times now and playing better Xander clearly he’s going to be always the uh bridesma never the bride I mean it wasn’t really his fault on Sunday I was I’m mad I’m biased I had Xander again last week I keep putting him because I’m like I’m not gonna miss his play his win now i’ I’ve invested too much of my mental health into this guy um but he didn’t play poorly I guess but Rory just took it to him and Stander just doesn’t have an answer for anybody on Sunday so he just doesn’t seem to have that killer I’m afraid to bet him but his consistency is it’s Scotty and then it’s him it’s actually more consistent as you can see than than Rory has been Victor havin we know he’s been struggling he had another bad week last week it’s crazy the fallof you see from the FedEx Cup champion and how well he was playing the end last season where he is now the graphic clearly shows that other guys on the list ludvig new to the scene so his 12 month number still good but he’s playing much better than that I think there’s a reason he’s you know up in the top four or five as far as the odds board goes and then I threw a couple notables in there obviously Brooks cap a defending Champion Justin Thomas a two-time PGA Champion only seems to win this major hom who’s been playing pretty well as of late but kkin Thomas another two clearly shown in the graphics here they’re kind of in a little bit of a funk right now so it’s hard for me at least to want to bet the guys on the short-term scale that aren’t in the best form but as we all know these guys are skilled enough where they can just turn on a given week doesn’t mean they can’t win and Justin Thomas said 55 to one for a two time PJ isn’t the worst number in the world Andy it is kind of attractive but I am a little uh hesitant to pull the trigger on him but that’s your top 10 for this week it’s one other note I’ll make is the official golf world ranking is the column on the left it’s so funny to see one two three four 124 for Bryon D Shambo and again another reason oh and by the way look clearly looking at that screen that is not Bryson’s brother Brian Brian that is that is BR I just can’t I didn’t even notice I didn’t even notice that’s that’s the was for this weekend that’s great this is It’s a split personality Brian uh great work on total Strokes gained all right let’s do players that can trip you up these are players that I think are overpriced overv valued and I think people are going to be betting on them and I’m here to warn everybody I think they might trip you up this week we’ve got some names that you might recognize from the Masters going with John ROM as my number one he was in this category in the master he finished 45th well below value I just think he struggles again when he came over for the Masters I get that everything surrounding him with the defending champ and the the the the dinner and everything that he just put so much pressure on himself he was really searching um made some really bad dumb mistakes mentally on the course and it really really cost him but I got tell you Nick I’ve been watching live and he’s sloppy he is this is I’m telling you this is not the same guy that we watched just not even that long ago as the number one player in the world he does not seem focused um he’s finished 50th and 48th in the last two PGA championships and I know they’re on different courses but as we talked about the pedigree of these courses are kind of similar um he’s just not he’s a third highest betting favorite on a guy that finished 45th at the Masters uh no chance like I said I’m telling you I’m I watched him on live and some of the mistakes that he makes some of the shots he making are just you would never believe if you just watched him the last few weeks on live tour you would never ever believe that this guy was on the elite level that he was so John ROM is the third highest favorite uh no chance and by the way I find it interesting that he’s priced Nick as the third betting highest favorite do you know what the price is on his head-to-head against uh just against like Roy mroy and and uh Scotty sheff he’s like he’s like plus 250 so even head-to-head against the best guys the books there’s no way the books are laying out like a remotely competitive price because they know he’s not on the same level as sheffler and maroy and some so John Ram is a guy that uh I I I don’t see any world in which he finishes top three to return value next up I’m going defending Champion Brooks Kea I just don’t trust these live guys man he’s coming off of a win at the last live event Nick this was the hokiest putt putt course you have seen this this thing was a joke I’m sorry it was it was everything it was everything live is it was corny it was not anything like uh like the PGA Championship course I watched him on Liv tour again not that impressed and here’s the thing the course that he went out on live was short this is a long long course and I’m not convinced that physically he’s the Brooks kepka that we’ve seen in years past and I get it it’s a major I get it he won last year I’ve just seen the fallof and there’s only so many times you can flip that switch to where you say oh by the way I’m now one of the best golfers in the world I don’t trust him um he’s priced as a top five highest favorite no way um like I said I watched him and if you watch him at the Masters he didn’t even look like he was remotely close to the Sheffer level so uh Brooks kka is a guy that has a top five betting favorite no way and finally finally Nick here’s a guy he’s plus 160 to miss the cut I think will zores misses the cut I cannot believe he’s priced in the top 20 he is clearly nowhere even remotely close to 100% physically he would Drew from a tournament before it started a couple weeks ago and he just finished 60th last week which wouldn’t be that bad except there were only 60 some players in in that and that was a long and that was a long course and that’s what really concerns me this week is longer this course is tougher I think making the cut would be a really big win for him I it’s it requires distance off the te and long approaches this guy’s back is clearly not 100% I think it’s going to be a massive massive struggle for him in the last three months he’s minus 0.35 Strokes gain putting so his short game is not even there he’s not been driving the ball long at all and for him to be priced as top 20 is absolutely mind-blowing but for his back injury we saw his upside where yeah he could finish top five at some of the tough places at Augusta he showed up in the majors Nick this isn’t the same guy I I it’s going to be a long road back from him and wills zorus a plus 160 to miss the cut is absolutely a play worth sprinkling on there so John ROM Brooks kka and will zalatoris I have as players that can trip you up uh guys let’s do some promo codes for everybody Nick and I have official PGA Championship picks uh Nick go first I know you’ve got a 5% best bet what do you have up at wagertalk.com for this week yes uh this week’s tournament pack is posted $39 but uh show promo only you can get 20 bucks off it so for just 19 bucks you can get this week’s pack the promo code is pga2 and it does include a 5% play as you mentioned Andy I’m also uh including my uh I’m trying to do a new like live uh betting sheet throughout the week uh as a digital download so you’ll get access to that it’s basically just an online Google St and I’ll update it as the week goes on every night uh you know even through the tournament to include updates for you know next round betting and things like that so that will be all be included as well so pj20 is the promo code you can get this week’s back for just $19 you’re going to save $20 off the regular price which includes a 5% play two and one so far this season on 5% plays in golf so hoping to make it a third winner of this week I’m so proud of you for saying you’re two in one and not saying I’ve hit 67% of all my this year I’m so proud of you I’m so proud of you for taking the high road being fully transparent about that I have a PJ Championship pack up but this week is very different for me um I have a couple of crossport parlays that are 5% so we’re going to use the promo code andy7 and it gets you $30 off a 7-Day pass that’s the best way to take advantage of my plays this week uh this week is absolutely a monster for me um we’ve got a Formula 1 race we’ve got NBA playoffs we’ve got NHL playoffs uh we just hit a Major League Baseball play last night and more importantly number one this year in golf for total units gained at wagertalk.com that best bet is up right now and it will also include all of our daily round bets that was where we made our money at the Masters on the weekend we just absolutely crushed the Saturday and Sunday individual round bet so get that s-day pass and you’re going to get all plays um we already have two plays up that are 5% those are cross sport parlays so you can get all the PGA Championship plays as well as all sports for a nice discount just go to Andy Lang wagertalk.com use the promo code on checkout andy7 for $30 off a 7-Day pass Andy Lang wager talk.com all right Nick uh I told you before I love your outright winner this week I had him circled as a guy I wanted to bet on I’m just salivating at some of the head-to-head matchups I’m seeing so walk us through why you have him picked as a really nice almost 30 to one outright winner this week it’s been a long time Andy since I’ve bet on D Shambo but I feel after what we saw off the Masters uh I like just how he handled the media I mean they talked about that a lot in the post round interviews you know the live from the Masters that was going on about just just his attitude I mean it was completely different than the Cockiness he was uh you know kind of exuding in years past so that alone I mean golf is such a mental game I just like the way he where he’s at with that he’s he’s kind of had a I guess the last two starts in the live forgettable if you will tie for 26 and tie for 27th in his last two starts but I’m not really worried about that I feel like that’s only kind of made people I don’t want to say forget but slightly fall down the radar a little bit and maybe add a few cents to his price this week I mean he he we know he had the lead at the Masters he had a very good chance to win he ultimately finished TI for six that was a stretch of five straight top 10 finishes he was just consistently showing up on every Leaderboard on the livv circuit uh as well he finished he go back to last year he finished tie for fourth at the PGA Championship again yes different course but the setups of these these courses PGA seems to be like that second toughest uh major now is kind of what they’re trying to set them their themselves up as and it played very very tough last year and it looks like it could do so again this this year and of course he was TI for 28th at the US Open past US Open winner this guy knows how to handle you know hard setup golf courses I think his distance obviously is a huge factor and the fact that not only does he get distance but how well he drives the ball when he’s driving the ball well I mean it’s he can kill it but he is on a rope straight and I think that’s going to be a huge factor in all gting him a lot of Strokes on the field if you just look at what he did in the Masters he averaged more than one stroke and a half gained off the te throughout that tournament so you’re talking about if he does that again with the driver he’s six stro Strokes up on the field just from from his T te game his his iron game uh is solid solid enough where if you’re getting that kind of a lead off the te you’re going to have shorter clubs in your in your bag and you’re going to be able to hit these greens so I expect him to keep his iron play going I know his driver will keep going his putter can be pretty solid his short game does leave something to be desired so you know as long as he can keep the ball uh on on the short grass and then hit a lot of greens it shouldn’t come in play too much but I just do I think he’s just gonna have a big head start on the field from his off the T game because again yeah we know he hit long but the guy’s very accurate with that driver uh when he gets into a Groove and we’ve seen his seen him in a Groove and hopefully it’ll come out this week again but 28 to1 I haven’t been on a long time feel like The Price is Right uh and he just kind of a guy that has my intention and I think he’s going to play well if he ends up winning I don’t know but if you want to back it up with a you know top 10 top 20 something like that feel free but I really do think he’s gonna have a chance on Sunday just a piggyback um just a piggyback uh off what i’ I’ve watched him on live and you should not be concerned about his finishes uh here’s why of all the bigger name guys that went over there he looks the most comfortable with where he is at in his career and like I don’t I don’t want to get too philosophical here but I’ve so enjoyed the Bryson Debo Journey what a Jour what a crazy Journey this guy I mean this guy was looked at as the the nerd uh protractors and like all this stuff and then he has a little beef now he has a little beef with Brooks ke not a little it’s a big beef with Bryce with Brooks kka and I thought Brooks kka was acted like a bully and Bryson was mining his own business and this move to live has been really kind of refreshing he’s building up his YouTube channel Channel which is fantastic by the way Bryson’s Bryson’s a born Entertainer and I feel like this is the first time we’ve really seen him just flourish uh he’s done a bunch of videos with uh friend of the show Paige sponic U you’ve seen those when he’s out there on Liv when I watch him he he gets it he knows every he knows about Liv he’s not really competing for the win he’s entertaining he’s having fun but at the Masters I watched him I he he got dialed in uh he got his competitive juices back and I just I love the free flowing nature and how at peace and calm he is I really think he’s found just really his Niche and his Groove in this sport so I I wanted to bet on him in head-to-head matchups I am so staring at uh I’ll tell I’ll tell you what put in the comments section who wants Brooks kka versus Bryson de Shambo that’s a matchup that’s on DraftKings it’s basically e it’s basically even Brooks is minus 120 uh de Shambo I’ll take Bry and de Shambo over Brooks kka so you want to do a friendly little head-to-head in the comment section let me know because I I I think Bryson’s in a much better place than guys like John Ramen and Brooks K is so I really really like that one Nick um DraftKings Darlings great week for DraftKings Darlings especially with the cut like you said Nick we’re getting a few extra spots here with that top 70 we’ll start with Mr draft King darling himself uh last year was Eric Cole who is the MVP Taylor Moore is definitely number one like he is he just keep he made he’s made every single cut this year he’s above average in driving distance which is going to help him make the cut again this week his putting is his only weak spot but even that he’s plus 0.04 total Strokes gained in that category the last three months so it’s not a disaster listen I get a guy who’s made the cut every single every single tournament and he’s 6,200 absolutely he’s gonna be in my lineup so Taylor Moore 6200 always undervalued this year so I will start with him uh Denny McCarthy at 6,300 Nick he just keeps performing well he’s made every single cut this year he’s above average in driving distance which should help him um putting is INS thing his putting is ridiculous it’s absolutely ridiculous um I just I I you cannot figure out why this guy putts so well but this is now just a huge sample size he just does so we just know we’re going to get that um I loved um I love that he uh performed well last week on a long course um not really his Mo but finished six last week so I love that um he’s made the cut 11 out of 12 uh tournaments so give me a guy that can putt real well that played well at a long course last week at 6,300 and then shortterm results uh Ben on here at 7800 it’s very very very short sample size but the last two weeks he’s finished fourth and third in back toback weeks uh finished third last week again a long course I think it sets up well he’s been inconsistent this year so this is a pretty big role of the dice I just need him to play really well again for one more week so third and fourth the last two weeks has been on uh so those are my DraftKings Darlings I have a free digital download article up on my profile page it’s got the rest of the DraftKings lineups and Nick I will tell you Bryson is in it Bryson Bryson a shano was one of the guys that made the the DraftKings DraftKings light up so uh let’s take a look at a finishing position position this one came out of uh nowhere Nick I did not expect this one so let’s talk about Mr sep straa what do you like about him this week yeah uh first of all you’re that is your best DraftKings darling list you’ve done this year oh thank you give you the give you credit there I like all those guys for top 20s you got Ben On’s better than two to one McCarthy’s better than 3 to1 one and Mo’s five to one on top 20s and I like them all have a chance with that and here’s another one I’m kind of in that s similar price range and for a lot of reasons you like those guys I like the Austrian sep straa this week he’s been red hot I feel like this guy just gets when he gets into a Groove he gets into a Groove and he stays there for a while and then he falls out and then you don’t hear from him for you know a year and a half but he’s in good form right now he’s got four straight top 20s and five of the last six uh top 20s and we’re not talking little events here Andy we’re talking designated Signature Events and maters so he finished tie for 16th at the Players tie for 16th at Masters tie for fifth at the RBC Heritage tie for eighth at the Wells Fargo Championship if you’re putting performances like that you are playing against the best players in the field on tough tough golf courses tough tough setups and he is getting it done he’s not really known for his distance I’ll at least say he’s not like a A Harmon or Russell Henley that loses distance to the field he’s kind of just average so I don’t you know it’s not an advantage but it’s I don’t think it’s a disadvantage either but his accuracy his ability to avoid trouble off the te I wanted to use the slogan second to nine but technically he’s third so he’s second to two or he’s third to two other guys whatever but he hits 78% of Fairways this season Andy off The T so he hits that driver great I think it’s GNA be huge again this week I mentioned that in the course preview of having a iron shot out of the Fairway when you’re hitting six iron seven uh eight not not six and seven but six five4 or longer I think it’s going to be huge for him I think it’s a big reason we’ve seen good success from him last year at a couple of the majors he finished a joint runner up at the open he finished high for seventh at the PGA Championship also last season so he can play well in the majors he’s playing well right now his irons have caught fire he ranked sixth in Strokes gain approach since the Masters and I know it’s only been you know a little over a month but everybody’s played like three times so it’s a it’s at least a decent sample size where he’s uh he’s performing very well at the irons it’s a good reason why he’s got those results he’s also putting better than averaging he’s he’s averaging over a half a stroke gained on the with the flat stick per round as well so to me it’s just if he keeps hitting his driver in play as he is doing and there’s no indication that he won’t because he’s doing that over a long period of time if his iron stay hot he’s gonna be on the green all the time he’s putting fine enough to just make pars and I know the PGA Championship the guy that’s going to be in the first and second page of that leaderboard you might just have to be even par or a little under and the only way to do that is just keep making pars avoid the big numbers he seems to do that very well again because he doesn’t put himself into precarious spots off the te so I like straa three to one for him to get on that second page of the leaderboard this week and he he might get even a even a little higher as we’ve seen the last couple starts from him so sep let’s go buddy I hope you can catch this this one for us sep is one of those guys that doesn’t get nervous on the on the big stage I watch him on the big he does he doesn’t melt no he’s no he’s very confident so all right guys we’re going to wrap up here with some kind of quick rapid fire questions for Nick want to remind a 7-Day pass it’ll get you all sports huge week for me we’ve got the PJ Championship but we got several other sports that are going as well couple of 5% plays in there as well cross sport parlays which we’ve been great at 10 and two in our last 12 and I will tell you Zander has been one of the best cross sport parlay pieces of the Year top 20 he’s just he’s just always top he just always finishes in the top 20 so take advantage of that if you just want the golf plays we do have a golf best bet up and that will include all plays throughout the tournament including any daily plays that we may have we crushed the Masters on the weekend Saturday and Sunday huge huge days uh albeit most of them are betting against Tiger Woods but still so uh all right Nick let’s do a few let’s do a few little questions here I mean speaking of which the books are not giving us anything to bet on with Tiger Woods to fade him uh it’s only like will he have a bogey free round yes n nine to one you can’t fade him the only way I can find to fade him is uh one of the websites has Phil Mickelson versus Tiger Woods Phil’s minus 138 you want Phil or you staying away it’s funny because we we previewed this matchup in uh at Augusta and I was like Phil all day and of course it started off where tiger was was was great the first two days and I’m like uh but as we knew the longer they they play the more the days The More Everything catches up to him he faded it’s just it’s that simple I mean it’s Phil I don’t care that he’s 50 what is he 52 now 53 I don’t know know how he is he’s he’s he’s old he’s not playing great on the livv but he’s at least used to playing and that’s the key here four days if if you get four days it adds up but that’s up in the body we know that’s Tiger’s weakness so the price was minus 110 then clearly they made the right ad I think moving the price to that high for Phil so I don’t love the price but I think that’s the way to play it I don’t even think at plus 115 or whatever you might get on tiger is worth it um so I would go Phil unfortunately I hate to say because I love Tiger but I mean well I mean the other thing Augusta is like Tiger’s favorite place he knows every inch of every Green on that play so like he you know he always just seems to play good there so I’m with you it’s Phil all right quick game of who do you trust okay just quick answers who do you trust ready Xander Schley do you trust Xander schafle to what to win no to top 20 no just trust okay all right do you trust Colin morawa no do you trust Patrick kentley no do you trust Max hom of the ones we’ve said so far the most but but not fully but so far the best one you gave me an option of wam Clark this one’s even harder H He’s got potential he’s got so much potential his price was was hanging back for a while so it was easy to bet in the potential his price is now not it’s kind of up there so if you’re just looking at it from a value standpoint no uh ludvick abar yes that amazing I it’s it’s crazy yeah I I trust him I I and you’re right I the point I was making with this was you look at guys like cheff and Rory and I’m I’m trying to think when was the last time we were in a situation where I I really only trust two guys to to Really contend for the win this week I don’t trust you can’t trust shaffle to win not not after last week uh I don’t trust Mory Kawa Klay to put together four great rounds AAR kind of maybe I I I might trust the most I just think we have a lot of guys that are pretty untrustworthy does that make sense at the at the top yes 3 100% yeah yeah yeah kind of kind of kind of strange on this one so all right guys that’s going to do it for us thanks so much for joining us uh let’s have a great PGA Championship uh Nick and I will’ll be back next week as always but for now hit the like button leave us a comment don’t forget to grab all of our official plays at wagertalk.com good luck on all your bets and we will see everyone next week on T 2. Great show, thanks for taking the time guys. I've got Alex Smalley to top 10 as my fun play of the week.

  3. Like Cam Smith, Brooks, Rory, and Bryson.. Sounds like a long and soft course. Rory destroys these courses and getting the ole saddlebag off his back seems to have freed him up.

  4. Props to you guys last week calling out brian harman as not suited for a course like Quail Hollow – got some nice match up bets off him. Full agreement with Dechambeau. I think this could be Aberg’s week, but I hope his knee is a non-issue like he seems to be saying.

  5. last week was the first time I bet against the best bets because I could not trust Xander lol. He can't win and there is a reason why he has all the stats and finishes but no win in 2+ years now. thanks as always guy slooking forward to this week
