so Big Driver head-to-head battle in this video got the brand new Callaway Paradigm AI smoke driver up against last year’s version the triple diamond Paradigm so two triple diamonds head-to-head battle let’s see which one comes out on top two triple diamonds from caway I’m going to use exactly the same shaft which is my new review shaft which I’m going to use in all my reviews all my comparisons and it’s the Venus from fuura the TR blue 6 in an X same grip as well which is the Golf Pride MCC plus 4 midsize so we’re going to start off with the Paradigm got it set at 9° 9° head set at 9° I’ve got the heavy weight in the back of the golf club so making it this more forgiving option I’m going to do exactly the same in the smoke so very direct comparison so let’s get some numbers with last year 2023 Paradigm Triple Diamond so obviously Paradigm was hugely popular last year personally I was a massive fan of it if I’m being brutally honest but obviously it has been extremely popular on tour and with many uh obviously amateur golfers we’ve got that Navy top we’ve got that first time of this 360 carbon head which was quite different from obviously from other brands and you know and with the smoke coming along now it’s just refined all that a little bit more 15% lighter in the smoke so they’re saving a little bit more weight yet again and redistributing it Mak it a little bit more forgiveness which is definitely something I want to have a little look at in this video against the two in terms of my personal feedback of the looks the feel the sound and also that forgiveness as well as the numbers it’s a good solid hit very nice sound to that good feel and obviously with the triple diamond tends to sit extremely square if anything’s slightly open in that address position that was the best one so far just touching over that 300 yard marker oh that’s an absolute bomber just to finish off with the Paradigm so push comments down below if you’ve got a paradigm drive and you’ve got that this year and you enjoying it let me know in the comments below and maybe see what you think of the new AI smoke from Callaway right so switching the ventor shaft now over into the new paradigm AI smoke from Callaway again Triple Diamond 90° head set at 90° with that heavyweight positioned at the back so identical to what we’ve just just looked at with the Paradigm and first of all I’m just going to do some comparisons of look between these two golf clubs obviously on the solle of the golf club now we can see that weight on the original Paradigm was positioned on the back edge of that Golf Club where now in the Smoke it’s actually on the so but again it is at the back obviously there’s a cosmetic difference and I really like the new smoke one I it’s a very funky sort of finish on it and obviously this is part of the golf club we just not going to see you’ll either like that or you won’t like it I really like that to be honest that lighter sort of color flipping over into that playing position position and obviously very different again on the top on the top of the golf club and again I’m a big fan of the smoke I love that carbon it just looks quality at the top where the Navy and the gray maybe just was too close a color I quite like that contrast there so it’s a got a lighter gray front section there lighter face and with some noticeable sort of white etching of the grooves on the actual Club face itself which makes you see the Loft a little bit more which I think it gives you a little bit of that confidence inspiring look whereas before it was so blacked out or darked out you didn’t really sort of see the face so much so think a little bit of a better appearance for me personally between those two golf clubs oh it’s a nice one to start off with now for me I think just initial I’ve been using the smoke for a little bit to be honest and I’ve hav actually taken out the golf course and I’ve really really enjoyed it and for me I think just for the difference between those two just feels a little bit more responsive off the club face maybe not quite as door or maybe is I’m going to use the word numb feeling in a way um it just feels like you get a little bit more feel off the actual Club itself okay and I think that is a really good example that was a little bit of a high toe strike with that and look at the distance that achieves the ball speed is really good from that slight Mish hit and that’s definitely something I’ve found with the smoke I hit a couple out on the golf course I actually took this to Turkey Before Christmas last year when I first received my sample and I hit a couple I thought oh no you as soon as you hit that shot you’re thinking oh I’ve lost that and it just really held its line quite nicely so I think this is really really stable as I say that carbon now that 360 wrap it’s saving 15 uh% I think of of weight now which is huge isn’t it so they’re repositioning that in a different part and they’re saying it’s more forgiving and I definitely feel that as well and sometimes a triple diamond scares a lot of golfers because it’s that Tor players sort of product in a way but I think definitely forgiveness levels are there and obviously that backs up then really what they’re doing with this club face we’ve got AI smart face now so it’s it’s taking from a quarter of a million real golfers data and impact positions and with a with a triple diamond is a little bit more of a centered strike pattern because typically the player who’s going to go into this driver will be pretty consistent on the strikes but just those little subtleties around that Center like there that slight high toe slight low heel Etc just helps on trying to maintain pain that ball speed but I feel as well there’s a little bit more of an accuracy element to this as well but that feels superb feels like I get some feedback through the golf club is it going to be any longer than the Paradigm it’s probably not is it you know we know nowadays you know new drivers the gains are minimal if any yeah that’s nice just a touch low in that club face there that SP interesting to just see see ball speed is pretty similar there spin might just go up a tiny bit yeah a little bit hasn’t it so just dropping a tiny bit of distance it’s one of those shots on the golf course you’re not going to absolutely Max your distance when you hit that particular strike but do you know what it’s down the Fairway isn’t it you know that’s the important thing and that’s where I feel like this just has a little bit of the edge over the previous one just with that little bit what I feel like a little bit more forgiveness ah stunning really like the feel sound off that club face really enjoying that okay let’s quickly check a few numbers out between those two triple diamonds from Callaway so as you’ll notice there the dispersion ring just winning it with the smoke there just getting a little bit of a tighter dispersion and then we just quickly look at the stripe patterns on those batch of shots with each one so this is last year’s Paradigm driver which was pretty decent strip pattern just slightly up height sort of heel and then the smoke there very very similar pattern there between those two drivers and then just obviously looking at the numbers there so you see cled speed pretty much identical as you expect same shaft same length everything like that ball speed wise pretty identical as well nothing really splitting it there smoke just came out a little bit low I caught a couple there you can see those launch just drops a little bit where I just cut slightly lower on that club face which obviously just pops that launch down a little bit and just throws a tiny bit more spin on so the tiny bit more spin as an average but I think if the strikes were all very very identical we’ll probably see that spin very in the same sort of area um and obviously distance very much the same so as I mentioned we’re not wasn’t expecting to see some big gains or any gains really on that uh distance side of things but maybe just that forgiveness that dispersion is probably the big talking point around that new AI smoke driver okay so there we go post comments down below let me know your thoughts between those two drivers are you Paradigm would you switch into the smoke are you going to hang tight for maybe the next version that’s going to come along probably in early 2025 post comments down as always appreciate watching got lots more videos coming your way thanks very much appreciate you watching us

  1. Seems like the TD version is more forgiving WRT dispersion more so then the standard versions this year. While many of us liked the look and feel of last years TD on good strikes, the meh ones still drove the smart peeps into the standard Paradym (I am in that camp 😀 ) but the TD is such a good looking shape may have to take a peak at the Smoke TD this year. Happy 2024 Michael!

  2. You could argue clever marketing from callaway to concentrate on forgiveness which is pretty much impossible to accurately test whether true or not.

  3. If you weren’t expecting distance differences but was expecting forgiveness improvements I think you should have hit some intentional toe and heel strikes. As you hit good strikes with the original paradym it was hard to see the forgiveness difference between the drivers even though you did demonstrate the new model is forgiving.

  4. Happy to subscribe, appreciate your honesty with your swing reviews, you are the first and only reviewer I have seen several reviews by well known you tubers all suggesting the Smoke is better than last years breakout Paradym driver! I will stand Pat with my Paradym driver which suits me quite fine and the results achieved on several tours last season prove it was a game changer driver!

  5. This is a nice driver, but I like the looks of the Paradym better. That blue is super cool. When I was fitted it came down to Paradym X and TSR1. TSR1 was a little further and better dispersion. I'd like to see how the Ai Smoke stands up to TSR. Most videos I've seen where Paradym was compared to TSR, TSR ended up 'winning' whatever that means. I haven't seen any Ai Smoke videos beat the TSR numbers vs Paradym. A head to head will be good to see.

  6. I buy a new driver every 4 years or so. If you were in my shoes would you buy the Paradym at a discount or go with the AI Smoke? My gut says save a bit of coin.

  7. Like the looks of the original Paradym. I'd really like to see the major OEMs go to a two year product cycle, like Titleist. I love golf and golf equipment, but it's so clear from year to year that they struggle to differentiate their new product from the one they just put out and it's kind of tiring.

  8. Always been a callaway guy, but rogue st and paradigm just felt really bad off the face imo, and I really only get a new driver every couple years so I didn’t try the epic. Suffice to say I’m still gaming Mavrik and I love that driver. 2 shafts later and probably going with Taylormade qi10ls or ping 430lst this year, but I got fit in October and nothing beat it, so we shall see. Driver tech is just so marginal year-to-year

  9. Love the look. Would like to see all the new drivers up against the TSR3. Seems like that was the driver to beat last year

  10. I am a Callaway man; driver and fairways. Tried Paradym last year, but my Rogue Max stayed in the bag. Distance was the same and the dispersion was similar. Did not like the top of the Paradym with the two different colours. The different colours were subtle, but still reminded me of an older TaylorMade. Smoke numbers will need to improve to remove my Rogue.

  11. I didn't make the jump from Rogue to Paradym since the numbers didn't justify, especially in despersment. I'll be comparing when our course has their Callaway Fitting and if it does what you say I'll be buying.

  12. There's not enough there for me to switch to the new one. I really like the blue better than the gray. I have the blue triple diamond three wood. Probably the best 3 wood I've ever hit.. For the price tag on these drivers, I'll wait.

  13. Some guys were testing the new AI Smoke drivers at my local driving range yesterday (Jan 2024) as a new arrivals. They are loud, almost Ping G425 loud but with a different tone to the sound. The sound alone won't be for everyone.

  14. These clubs are identical, the only difference is the variance from the player hitting them. You pulled one left and that is the only reason the dispersion is larger in the Paradym.

  15. I love my Ping products, but I take issue with the heavy draw bias and toe in address with Ping drivers and FW metals. I may get into an Ai Smoke TD, as they say it's good for people like me who's main miss is a hook.

  16. As a 7hcap I found almost no difference between the 2 clubs when tested for a couple of weeks. In the end I kept my old paradyme as it appeared like I had lower spin and your review also confirmed it. I do like the looks of the new Smoke design though, maybe if I had played around with the weights/shaft I may have produced lower spins. It did take me several changes in grip , shafts and weights to perfect the old paradyme for my swing. Was a costly experiment but now that I own them, I just need to buy the head and re-tune it for me. Maybe I will buy when there is a discount.

  17. I just played my first 9 holes last night with the Ai Smoke Triple Diamond yesterday and I was impressed. I hit 6 out of 7 fairways, which is better than my normal, and it was as long as my TSR2, which has been my favorite driver of all time. I have a TSR3, but the TSR2 is better for my swing. I will give it another go this weekend for a full 18. It looks very nice behind the ball, and I like the sound and feel. Still need to mess with the adjustments to get it dialed in. Of note, the spin is higher than I was expecting around 2500-2600 rpms, compared to my TSR2 which is in the 2300-2400 rpm range.

  18. I picked up a triple diamond Paradym 3 wood this weekend. wow.. I was a little shocked but have been using much older 3 woods for years. Makes me want to check out the driver but hit my TM Sim 2 pretty good so I shouldnt.
    cheers.
