they play zone 85% of the time only marac plays more Zone than them in the country this is a matchup Zone it’s not a normal thing and that’s what it causes turnover off the pass from Muhammad diara and you know NC State they dominated the paint the other day against Texas Tech dominated it that’s going to be hard to do with this Zone because Camp’s going to pack it in and challenge them from the three-point line yeah they outscore Texas Tech in the paint 42 to2 and can’t be told us he basically laid out his entire game plan for us yesterday he wants NC State to shoot threes that’s the way the Zone will be designed tonight except one guy except one guy and that’s DJ horn DQ Cole with the shot clock at three and that shot won’t go Oakland started cold the other night they were 1 for 13 and tonight they’re 0 for three good defense inside as horn could not finish see how long it takes for campy to go to Jack goal ke last time he came in four minutes in and once he comes in he doesn’t go played an unbelievable game the other night for Oakland 12 points eight rebounds four assists no turnovers and the biggest shot in the history of the school probably with 28 seconds to go knocked out that three when they were up one okono and it’s high up it will stay with the wolf pack and here he comes just over three minutes in Jack Goki this guy’s become a folk hero Legend now the question is what is NC State going to do with him Kentucky did not do a they they contested hard but they didn’t switch a lot I have a feeling that NC State’s going to be switching a lot to get to him so those as it in you know when the game is fast that’s going to help NC State they’re going to get these kind of B shots at the basket when they set up it’s going to be tough but if they can keep the pace fast it’s going to help a lot 84 NC State in the paint so far in this one and that’s the one thing that that zone is not supposed to allow Bui comes out to get it now Townsen puts it on the deck Townsen strong off class for two so much focus on goal key the other night but don’t forget about Trey Townsen Horizon League player of the year he had a double double with 177 points and 12 rebounds well you know he draws so much attention that it lets other guys get open you saw it against Kentucky a lot orell too strong Middlebrooks corals it misses Middlebrooks again knocked away out of bounds and it will be with NC States the size is a problem and the one aspect of this Zone that makes it tough is it’s hard to defensive rebound unless you’re matched up perfectly in this tough to defensive had a career-high eight in a win over Robert Morris in February meanwhile the Wolfpack have scored on each of their last five trips Burns trying to make it six and he does the way he uses that glass almost whenever he wanted can’t you said he had about 1300 teexs after the win against Kentucky a number of retired coaches congratulating him including Steve fiser Roy Williams and he said Jim ban nobody got hurt there at least it looks that way and the foul is on middle Brooks that’s his second you know this Zone’s Effectiveness has been growing as the game has been going on in the first 11 minutes NC stayed had 14 points in the paint in the last six they have two and tonight the Wolfpack have missed six layups already they lead by [Applause] three Townsen around diara Trey Town’s got deep position and he scores NC State had been one for their last 12 prior to that bucket and you know what else you notice Andrew the pace is slow down considerably they had 27 points 5 minutes ago the first half Townson will take that puff shot and diara was able to get it over to oconnell with a 10-second difference between the game clock and the shot [Music] clock neither team has used a timeout here in the first [Applause] half Burns catch and shoot yes that’s driving great that’s exactly what greb campy told Evan wasburn you can’t let him get to his right shoulder and you got to get in front of him and Greg campy will call timeout with nine seconds inside out and have done a very good job of attacking that zone in a half court not as good as they did the first 10 minutes but still good Ron pass commits a foul they did add 1 second while we were away and now 7.8 on the clock for an Oakland team that’s gone cold just five points in the last 6 minutes and 40 seconds they’ve missed nine of their last 11 trying to get one before the half Watts with two rocket Watts puts it up and hits at the horn and at the break it’s a three-point NC State advantage and Rocket Watts played very well the other night too he goes one-on-one here with the shot clock winding down little cross over pull up he makes it big shot there Evans with Kevin Keats well coach outside of that last play how has your defense impacted this game I think it’s great I think our pressure is really wearing down on them uh we’re getting after we’re making everything tough I mean good basketball team they can make tough shots but I think we’re doing a good job what do you think is going to be most critical in this second half well I think we got to keep defending uh we’ve missed some easy to stay down on shot fakes but give NC State Credit for their overall defense which was really good they held Oakland to 12 for 31 from the field he continues to climb up the charts three of six tonight 13 in the first three halves of his NCAA tournament career now one thing to keep an eye on here in the second half is NC State as we told you off the top seventh game in 12 days but we asked Kevin Keats about their fatigue and he said during the six-game win streak he feels they have played better and stronger in the second half of games we’ll see if that continues Tiara certainly has energy early oh you’re not kidding Andrew you took the words right out of my mouth the way he got after Townsen on that possession he was playing really really hard I tell you what these kids on NC State you got to give them a lot of credit cuz they have played extremely hard in this game and as you said said seventh game in 12 days amazing morcel and basically only play seven guys Evan what did Greg campy have to say well he said their defense is disrupting us taking it too long to get into our offensive sets he said make or Miss we got to Sprint that ball down the court get it in the paint and get it out and he added guys he feels like NC State will wear down he wants to try their legs in this second half with Pace Townson is fouled and when we met with campy yesterday he was the one that pointed out the seven games in 12 days and how he was going to try to take advantage of that today yes he was very sure because he even he looked at us and said how can that even be possible and and then we said the same thing to Kevin Kei what did Kevin ke tell us we played better in the second half y of all these games get complete coverage of the went for 27 today in a win over Holy Cross
