okay so Jason Kelce walked in on Roger Goodell while he was writing the script I’m just playing but you got to hear what was said plus the NFL releases the strength of schedule for 2024 based off the win percentage of the teams last year and we also get a small Eagle schedule leak but after that we hear from former DB Nolan Carroll who spent three years in Philly he talks Chip Kelly Doug Peterson the Eagles draft and the stack Corner Room you got to hear what he says about James Bradberry though what is going on everybody I go by Philly Mike and this is the Philly tall podcast and today as always we got a lot to get into but before we do that elag Nation can I ask y’all for a quick favor help your boy out hit that like button subscribe to the channel and turn on that notification Bell so you don’t miss the videos so right around a year ago Jaylen Herz was the highest paid quarterback in the NFL and just like that Jaylen Herz is now the sixth highest paid quarterback in the NFL after the Jared golf extension in terms of average annual salary again having a GM like hoe Roseman goes a long way we’re not just talking trades drafting signing free agents the fact that he’s not afraid to come early to a player he believes in is important like I just said about a year ago he was the number one highest paid now six the off season of 2024 will probably be the eighth ninth or 10th highest paid quarterback and watch what he does because I believe he’s going to have a better 2024 season than he had in 2022 and we all know where we finish there in the Super Bowl and he was the runnerup MVP this time I’m looking for better results but it’s not just with our quarterback Jacob Sports said even after securing their two star wide receivers the Eagles have only the 19th most expensive wide receiver group in the NFL because we get the deal done we know how to spread it out and the reason we get it done early is because watch when all these other big name wide receivers come off the board like Amar Ron Brown did they’re going to get paid paid paid so once again Howie just knows how to run his organization moving on to Jason Kelce seeing the script walking in on Roger Goodell I’m just playing but listen what he says lowkey about possibly returning I know I know I know he’s probably not going to return but just listen up that’s a how’s it going good you you’re the surprise yeah I’m hoping I can get a surprise what’s going on with the schedule we uh almost there you can’t say we anymore yeah right maybe we don’t know I mean hey oh you coming back I wish you’re going to go to Brazil I I want to I really do you should go I went I went for the World Cup uh 2016 and absolutely loved it so I would go back again hey Jason’s the one who keeps joking about it so it is what it is we got to wait and see as for the NFL script talk you know that’s the fun rumors going around since Aran faler started about the script talk but it would be nice for Jason Kelsey to be in the room he did ask about the schedule which does come out tomorrow Wednesday at 8:00 pm I will be live for it so if you’re subscribed got that Bell on you can join from my prediction and I definitely want to get yours however today the NFL released the 2024 strength of schedule based on the opponent’s win percentage last year we all know there’s certain teams that were good last year that fall off and same with the bad teams that step up but from last year’s win percentage the Eagles are tied with a couple teams for the 22nd rank toughest schedule with the win percentage 491 we’re tied with the colt and the Titans so really you could call it tie for 22nd or tied for 24th speaking of the schedule there was a slight leak word on the bird said rumor the Eagles are very likely to host Monday Night Football in week two per at aie NFL won’t know the opponent until tomorrow but to know that we play Monday night week two after playing Friday in Brazil week one means our home game should be popping and I’m looking to start this season to 2 and 0 let me know what you think about everything now let’s hear from former Eagles cornerback from 2014 to 2016 Nolan Carol how you feeling I’m doing great man can’t complain happy to be on here them days feel like they’re long long ago right or they feel like yesterday they actually they still feel like yesterday you know the the amount of people that still I run into that are fans of the Eagles or fans of the Dolphins or fans for the Cowboys they still they bring up Eagles memories whether it’s referring to the Eagles or being fans of the Eagles and especially where I live in Jacksonville we got a lot of Philly Philly fans more than I thought so they’re they’re always the memory of me is is with the Eagles so I it’s funny because it doesn’t feel like it’s that long ago even though my last game in Philly was 2016 it it feels like honestly yesterday that I was just playing there and you signed with the Eagles in 14 I believe right yeah 2014 and that was uh the Chip Kelly era yeah yeah and it’s it’s funny uh Eagle Nation the reason I’m linked up with noan Carol is because the Deshawn Jackson Shady 2510 show I heard a little quick Shady talk about BG almost was traded you know he he didn’t really stay on it he just quickly put that in there so I tweet that on Twitter and uh you know tweets going viral or going pretty good and uh Nolan was in the in the comment section like hey I got I got some stories too and so you know one of my followers you know know hey let me hear it and I’m like is that really no and Carol you know I clicked on it and I’m like it’s noan Carol so you know what I mean I reached out to him and he’s on the show so you know that podcast inspired this podcast so um it’s not only the Chip Kelly Arrow it’s your first season as an eagle yeah yeah so it was man it was a lot of moving Parts in that first year but just to get to the first part that we were talking about with BG know first of all BJ everybody knows BG is an incredible teammate he’s an incredible person and I joke about this I wouldn’t be surprised if one day he’s running from May in the city of Philadelphia because he’s just that type of guy but you know when I was saying that they they did they were trying to trade him you know BG was a guy obviously people know injury history that he had and the one thing I do know about BG is he he’s just so persistent he he he was a guy that he continued to show up always had a smile on his face even though he wasn’t the starter you know at the time when I came in there it was Tren Cole um Conor barwin Benny Logan Fletcher Cox and vny Curry and it’s like he’s they were kind of saying he was odd man out but you know he he was a guy that when they put him on special teams he was rolling I mean he was making plays the teddy bear man Brandon Graham and you know just being down on on kickoff you see him running full speed and and we see it on film we’re just like man you know this guy he’s not playing on defense as much but he’s Balling on special teams and you know got to the point where during the middle of the the season I think he was just starting to warm up more and you know they couldn’t trade him as much as whatever was going on before I got there they he made it hard for him to do that and I I just want to clear that part of it that’s what it was but you know just me coming to Philly I was basing it off of my four years in Miami what did it look like and it was a lot of up and down and for us whether it was T moral off the field with the bullying thing or if it was you know just the inconsistency with the offense and the the inconsistency with the defense I mean I had three different head coaches when I was in Miami I had Tony spirano then the interm coach was Todd bulls and then after Todd Bulls it was uh Joe filbin so for me having those three different kind of guys you could tell how it was it was just stressful in the locker room because everybody’s Mission yes it’s the same but the way you go about it is different so me just looking at it and and understanding I want to win like I I just wanted to win and I saw what Philly was doing in 2013 with you know his new coach Chip Kelly coming in and they W the division that year and and I’m looking at it from the outside looking in and I said this could be a team possibly you know that I could play with just knowing the type of weapons that they have on offense Nick FES I think he just thrown seven touchdowns in the game had the record you know he’s he’s the guy he’s the quarterback I’m looking at LESA Deshawn even Riley Cooper He’s not even the number one but he’s got I think a th yards receiving you got a young uh Zack Herz Brett celic I mean I’m looking at the offense and okay if these guys are going to score points how can I fit in on the defensive side and me I was fans of all those guys Nate Allen Carrie Williams Dey the whole front line Brandon boyin at the time so I know when I was getting ready to sign with Philly shoot this is going to be me just trying to find my place in there that’s really what it came down to but know when I got there it was just all off rip it was I’m hearing Deshawn just got released and like man that sucks I don’t this unfortunate and then all of a sudden you know when I get there it’s like not an easy feeling a guy’s kind of on xshell some guys kind of cranky and like I said I wasn’t there before so I don’t know exactly what was going on but I started to hear stories of just the rift back and forth not guys not being on the same pages with coaches players not understanding everything that chip was doing and you know I’m not here to point fingers or say anything bad I just know the things and and some people want to just hate Chip Kelly all day hate hate hate and I I get that I understand it there were some things that could have been done better but I do know when I was there there were things that he helped me with to to extend my career and help me show that I can be better than what I thought I was and I just want to be able to put that out there as well but you know as we were going going through it it was just difficult because what I saw wasn’t necessarily what it was at first if that makes sense and you have to work at it and he didn’t like me when he saw me that’s just what it was I came in I uh actually I I pulled my hamstring four days before we had to report to OTA so in his mind he thought I’d been out partying and do all this I didn’t do I just had a a brand new baby that was born a month before I was taking care of him and I was also trying to work out at the same time so I might have gotten six hours of sleep at the most and I’m working out three times a day trying to get ready for this new team I’m going be part of so I was already behind the eightball and then that just kind of spiraled down to where he he put me in the dogghouse per se and you know being in the dogghouse trying to learn a new system trying to learn new coaches it was just a lot and and trying to see how guys were in the locker room it was just it like I said it was more of a rift than anything else but as time went on and I got healthy I got back I was able to play a part in the defense you know they not a lot of people know this um chip actually moved me to linebacker uh really in the end of mini camp a lot of people don’t know this either they they tried me as like a dime linebacker to match up against the tight ends in uh the NFL because those guys were becoming more hybrid guys the Jordan Reeds Delaney Walkers James Cook uh just they’re all over the place now but it that just knowing our schedule there was a lot of them on the schedule and you know I guess that was the plan for me coming in because that’s what they stuck me out they didn’t even really try me outside at first and you know at first I was reluctant to that as well so the injury would be being behind trying to understand the Playbook and a new position I was still in that dogghouse per se and you know it didn’t help that I also I got hurt in Camp I pulled my groin because of just the fast pace of of what it was I wasn’t I just was not used to that culture just yet and you know as I once I bought into the program that’s when I felt like my career started to take off in 15 you know where I was able to it seemed like almost every week I was making a play and that really just came down to the mindset and mentality of taking care of my body and taking care of my mental and you know out of all this that was something that chip did well but there were some decisions that I have I mean I had no control over the Shady situation I had no control over Deshawn but you know it was from what I just explained I think that had a little bit to do with why he traded those guys or moved on from those guys because some guys just did not buy in to the system and when they didn’t he he had the power to get rid of them but you know those guys are going to be those guys I have no problem with DeShawn or lesea they were never a problem in the locker room if anything it was fun playing with lesea just the energy that he had he lesa’s goingon to be lesea no matter what I don’t care if there’s a camera in his face or he’s in the locker room he was a he was a great teammate and contrary to beliefs of what they said about Deshawn too Deshawn I I felt like he’s a great person still is a great person and it just sucks that they had the negative connotation behind you know him being gang affiliated that that sucks to me but you know just that first part like I said in 2014 that was the the image that I had and the view I had of the Eagles and then me coming into it I was kind of stuck in the the turmoil part of I guess The Changing of the Guard and Power to uh basically you know trying to come out of it in 2015 so kind of in nutshell just that first year without getting too long-winded um that’s that’s kind of how it was uh for me my first year in in Philly yeah and then you end up uh playing two more uh 15th season and the 16th season am I’m correct right yeah so you know 16 came around and that’s when we hired Doug and it’s kind of back to square one uh again with uh just a new coach and and new culture and it’s more revamping the culture back to the Andy Reid days than it was anything else it’s getting back to who the Eagles truly were and getting getting away from the circus that we had and know really appreciative of Doug in his first year and and him really trying to to guide the ship because they gave him a task and responsibility that I don’t think many coaches could really navigate from is is drafting a Young quarterback and then trying to reestablish what Philadelphia is about and he was able to do that so all in all you know happy I was a part of that that first year I wish I could have been here the second year one more year right just one more year yeah I try I mean I I I let him know I let Howe know and I let Doug know I wanted to be a part uh another year just one more it wasn’t even about trying to break the bank or anything like that I just wanted to be a part of it you know because I was there through the growing pains I was there when we had no weapons on offense we had these young receivers and Jordan Matthews and Nelson agalar and and our only guy was really Brent C or excuse me Brent celik Zack hers and you know that was really it we put the we put the offense in Carson’s hands to try and Win Every Game and that’s just hard to do and you know I I wanted to be a part it just it didn’t work out that way and but all in all I’m still happy for the city they ended up getting a ring out of all the turmoil and the guys that were in that room that I was able to play with they got a ring as well and that’s what now I’m pleased about that you know I I felt like I did win even though I don’t have a ring I felt like I I played part in that just to help establish the foundation so we could so people know how Philly is it’s been that way since Doug got back there to reestablish what we know as as Philadelphia Eagles football how do you feel about what the Eagles did this off season I’m talking about some of the signings from Devin white to Bringing CJ Garner Johnson back saquon Barkley going from New York staying in the division going to a a division rival and then just the draft uh Shing up the defensive side of the ball hoe Roseman never drafted a defensive back a quarterback in the first round the Eagles haven’t done it since Leo Shepard in 2002 but that that wasn’t hoe doing the drafting at that point so he’s never done it how do you feel about the whole offseason in totality for Philly I think it was good it addressed needs of depth and it also addressed needs of Veteran leadership I think if you look at the draft the year before last when they they drafted all those Georgia kids they were young and you know you you need a veteran presence like uh Devon white because he’s won a Super Bowl he’s been playing lights out for I forgot man it’s the last six seven years him and Levante David down in in town he’s only 26 Every Time I Think of Devon white I’m thinking is he 28 no he’s 26 so if you look at that that type of Veteran leadership on and it’s not necessarily in the games it’s how to prepare it’s how to practice it’s how to take care of your body you need those things and and they solidified that and then also too in the draft just dra in those those young guys uh Mitchell is Michael excuse me qu Quin quinan Mitchell and uh Cooper Deon I just think having those two guys with slay as much as people hate Bradberry it doesn’t even matter it’s just more about experience at this point in time when you’re an older guy a corner at least you’re trying to teach these guys what you’ve seen through your eyes out of many years and to be able to have those guys and then Sydney Brown coming back from an ACL and he was playing decently as well too so having those young guys in the room learning from those older guys I think will help and if you have that situation that happened last year where you know both your starting Corners get hurt your starting safety gets hurt what guys can you bring in that are athletic that that have had somebody teach them at the probo level to be able to come in right away and compete I think that will help them and also uh I believe it’s the young guy Eli Ricks is his name the other corner he was thrusting the fire he reminded me about a little of myself being like that too and will help you since I’m talking to a DB what’s your take on the whole cornerback room in general the draf these coming the veterans all the people it’s a long list of Corners we got what’s your take on it yeah well I know numbers wise we had that situation in 2015 we drafted I think we drafted three or four guys and we signed Maxwell and we also signed Walter Thurman so we had a lot of numbers in our room it’s and it’s unfortunate uh casual season war is numbers and I I don’t know who’s going to be the guy it all depends on production obviously the guys they drafted they ain’t going anywhere slay is not going anywhere uh Bradberry if he can come back and bounce back he’ll probably be there but if not if he doesn’t have a good showing they’re probably gonna trade him I would hate to say that but he’s a guy that was an all pro just the year before just a year ago in his crazy you can’t blame it all on him because obviously we’re now finding out there was a lot of Disconnect between the front office and the players and you know we can’t all just say oh it was just him and he su look I went through that too and and it’s one of those where it’s some type of relationship Rift it’s some type of communication Rift in that locker room between it might have been him and the defensive coordinator might have been him and a player you never know so we can’t just say this guy is not good because the stats don’t lie and especially from that that previous season of 23 or 20 22 excuse me on Super Bowl nobody was saying he was a problem everybody was saying he was good so we can’t just look at it we can’t look at it year to year what have you done lately but you know I I it might be him key Ringo if he shows that he can do it uh Mr Rogers as well if he can show I think he’s a nickel um I think that’s what he was he was playing behind uh more in in Indie but those guys are just going to have to compete it out I know they they even though they have set positions they’re going to find they they have plans for them guys don’t just gra draft guys just because they they have them in a certain spot and they understand where the competition lies and you just really know when when Camp comes you’ll be able to see that battle and how it plays out and you know you never know in Camp but it’s unfortunate injuries happen trades happen you never know who might be available on another team that they could use a corner as draft bait to get draft picks or draft bait to get a position to need so it’s we we can say all all the stuff we want but how he’s a guy with the plan and it’s always surprising us no matter what so I I would just think it’s all about competition and those guys that I mentioned if if they have a good showing they’re on the team if if they don’t more than likely goingon to be traded or or try and use as as they’ll be cut casualties of Camp just because of numbers real quick though what what is your favorite memory in the three years you spent in the City of Brotherly Love yeah man honestly it it was me being Locker mates next to Darren sprouls out of all the things that I was able to do in Philly just being next to a guy that’s going to be in the Hall of Fame and just understanding I watched him when I was in high school and you know then playing against him in in the NFL I was in Miami he was in New Orleans and then becoming teammates with him you hear stories of guys that you have to see to believe and one of the stories that I heard about Darren sprs was no matter what it’s walkth through practice game it’s full speed all the time and that rubbed off on me that type of work ethic the mindset you know there were days where he would come in and just like man I ain’t got it today but you know three hours later in practice he’s full speed again he never missed to practice and you know you you want to play with a guy like that and you see why he is like that and why he is one of the most respected allaround purpose players in the NFL in NFL history because of the way he does what he does and being able to man in the morning just being able to chop it up with him and just talk about just life man that was the fun thing and and it was that’s one of the moments and then it was Brandon Graham too I get in the the facility early Brandon’s in there early as well we’re in the cold tub just chopping it up talking and you know though as as the years go on you begin to get a personal relationship with guys just based off of just being in the locker room and you know having that support you know when a guy is hurting hi to you pick him up when you guys are working out how is he pushing you and you know those are the two I I I remember the most you know aside obviously from the pick six and and you know going against the the greats you know that was the most memorable time I had is is with those guys and you know you see him now Brandon’s a staple in the NFL and age like f wi he is he is and you know I talk to him from time to time just tell him man I still support him I’m still a fan of him just because of how he’s being able to do it and the mindset that he has is the same mindset he had when I was there and it was even the same mindset before I got there and you know same with Darren scolls you see his highlights and you’re like man I really played against this dude and I really played with this guy and you know it was a guy that I took pride in even blocking with four on a punt return because I knew he had the chance to always house one so it’s just those little things is what I take the most and as your player you never really understand you know when people ask you that question what is the thing that you you know you miss the most it is the locker room because it’s that type of bond that you create in the locker room that creates those big plays that the fans get to see you know uh and and create those memories and you know where it started and you know how it started too and and that’s uh that’s the thing I I admire the most and then also one more is just just being around the city you know a lot of times I lived off of Broad Street and I live right down from NovaCare but you know at times I would ride my bike and I ride my bike downtown I just take Broad Street straight down and just being around town you could hear people talking about the Eagles you know mo most people I don’t for whatever reason they never Affiliated my face with the Eagles until they like really stared at me but now i’ be you know I’d be at restaurants or I’d be downtown or I’d be in Uber and you hear the fans talking about the Eagles and you could hear how passionate they were about this team and their days their weeks were predicated on if the Eagles won or lost and you I took that to heart because I said look if we can win that means everybody’s weak is good and if we lose people’s week’s going to be a little rough so at the end of the day like I said the the it’s hard to describe but the city itself you know being able to play for a city like Philly and and give it your all which I really did I gave everything I could to that City for three years that I was there and you know I’m I’m appreciative I had no regrets over it at all and you know there’s still fans to this day that appreciate me for even being there so that’s the thing that you know I really I I remember the most of my time in Philly hey I appreci appreciate you coming on giving me your time Nolan Carol DB in the NFL for three organizations but I can hear in the way he’s talking I know which one he likes the best I don’t even need to ask him you heard it yourself uh once again Eagle Nation I appreciate y’all make sure you hit that like button subscribe to the channel um you do you have a a podcast or I think I seen something on your Twitter yeah I have a podcast it’s conversations with Carol and it’s more mindset uh mindset motivational and it’s showing you how to take the steps you need to to in order to get yourself over the hump you seeing it nowadays people are having a hard time really keeping themselves consistent and disciplined and and my podcast is geared towards doing that is showing you what ways you can do that and then just understanding your awareness and what’s around you to to make you be able to change your life it’s called conversation with Carol again and you know I’ve been doing it for four years now and I like it I enjoy it um it helps me out too just to be able to express how I’m feeling from what I’ve seen from other conversations of businessmen athletes entrepreneurs alike you know so it’s it’s been fun to to really grow this this uh podcast and and implement it to my everyday life too to help others appreciate you for coming on and uh go Birds yes sir fly go fly man

  1. The fact they make so many jokes about the script only makes me more skeptical lol. Btw, it doesn’t have to be where every detail is scripted, but larger details can be. Wouldn’t be the craziest thing ever

  2. yall lose to the bucs in the wild card round this year again guarantee 🌴☠️drown shit birds drown

  3. I like that Carroll spoke out on the Trade (but yet trying to trade) BG. That would have been crazy if that had happened and it would have been such a huge mistake. But I’m glad Kelly is gone and Brandon Graham is still an 🦅.
