Japanese horse Forever Young he basically got hit the Way Conor McDavid gets hit with hockey sticks in the NHL I had that horse too across the board I did more on him and I I I I I thought Gaff Leon like that wasn’t right that horse I’m telling you I don’t know how Ben feels about it that horse should have won the race if you really think about it that whole stretch he was getting murdered my my take well we’re here to talk about golf now yes and in terms of the outright board I’ve been kind of surprised at the way that the board has gone from sat from Sunday the reset on Monday and now we’ve seen a few players drift a little bit they were not the players that I was necessarily expecting like Jeff was on top of it that l was priced with all the very top end options and he has fallen back outside of 20 to1 right now Rah has got the boost up Xander got up uh Xander has actually stayed around the same Rory goes up a little bit Sheffer stays the same then Brooks ends up going back up but it was H who I was surprised about that he dropped from 35 to 29 and 30 that cam are you surprised that this many people are betting maxom I think people like Max hom just because he’s qu quite consistent the question is valal is a killer h’s not necessarily the shortest off the te but you know what I mean it’s going to take a lot of length like you guys like Rory maroy kepka murders it so but I love Max hom game uh he showed me something on the weekend too it looks like he’s starting to come around again he’s a guy and I know one thing and I think Ben will agree if H’s in the mix unlike uh Xander chaet I think he could win the golf tournament like Xander chaet to me is a fade on Sunday every matchup bet every tournament if he looks like he’s going to win love the guy for top fives and tens but hom on the other hand knows how to win golf tournament so I’m not surprised Pat I wrote this up in the newsletter if people want to see a more in-depth description about H because I’m right around those three guys Bryson hom and Colin Mora is my final outright bet Ben but with h when you go take a look at his splits this year between the long hard courses against good fields and like the short wonky courses against bad or good Fields he’s been really good at the long hard courses there is something I don’t want to say it’s like a a Brooks light situ ation but he seems to be like okay when the lights are the brightest I’m ready to go I mean we’ve seen him talk when he’s been in the mix the late group on Sunday about you know not just but embracing that thriving in it and he’s backed it up with his play so I totally agree with that mentality I I don’t know exactly how Valhalla is going to hit him uh in terms of his off the te numbers he’s got to survive there but at the same time uh you know he’s got a win at Wells Fargo he’s done things you know Quail I think’s a decent comp so ‘s a very interesting name this week and in my mind Cam when I think there are certain players that if you say that they were ever going to win a major what major would they win doesn’t Max H just seem like a PGA Champion yes he does that’s a great call too Pat and I heard you and Ben doing your show before and I think we’re on a lot of the same people I don’t want to let the cat out of the bag but like guys like kka I like hom definitely at the PGA I think he does he have a game for a US Open too maybe depending on where it is but not the British not the British you know but just look at it just how he’s gone because the the whole knock on H for the last little bit has been well the guy guy doesn’t even have a top 10 to Major like you wake me up when he does something he came top 10 at the Open Championship with that Herman won last year and then he was third at the Masters so now he is progressively getting better in these events so maybe it is all lining up for him excellent call all I know is this like when Max hom plays bad like it’s amazing there’s certain guys that they people get on and the media get on Max Hol is a wicked golfer I love his caddy I love him I love everything about the guy is California cool he just goes out there kind of like stoned and doesn’t flip out when he makes a mistake and that’s the type of guy you want to have in the bag so excellent point by you Pat he is getting closer and he’s one of my favorite golfers anyway so yes he’s going to break through very very soon and I think that narrative is a little bit false okay uh anyone else that you see falling down the board bin because I’m not made of stone and Hideki has now dropped to 80 to one I’m gonna wait for it to keep dropping but I’m gonna bet Hideki I’m gonna have to now now uh just because if I if I let that slip through my fingers uh the therapy bill will be so much higher than the loss of donating on Hadi so I I can’t believe it’s gotten that far I’m not surprised it dropped but that’s extreme it is Extreme come on 80 to one he’s priced the same as like sunjay now cam yeah what sunj is played a little bit better but I’m not gonna bet him that guy like if there you know there are certain guys on the old dart board that you just want to throw dart like sjim to me I when I need him he never shows up like he’s a guy that I’ve bet and I reached a point where there’s certain guys I just go just take them off and they’re not coming back on my team for a very long time they gotta show me and uh sunj is the guy he’ll screw you and then this week he played pretty well yeah hi listen Hideki will screw you everyone is very familiar with how much Hideki can bend you over and you’re not going to have a very good time with Hideki but at the same time you’re getting a guy that if he doesn’t WD last week Ben and he play let’s say he comes ninth or something like that what do you think his odds are for this week 40 to one yeah yeah I would say he’s around the Klay Neeman cam Smith range yeah 40 45 that’s what I’m thinking Pat and that’s another narrative that I want to see happen this week be it Neeman gu or burm Easter cam I want to see one of these guys contend because all we keep hearing is about like oh they’re on live and they’re dominating like these guys should be in every single major and Neiman has a chance he’s going to go play the US Open qualifier to get himself in because the USGA is only giving Tiger Woods an invitation I mean they they once gave Phil an invitation then he won his way in so it wasn’t that big of a deal but you need to be an all I went and looked at the exemption list that the USGA has given out for the US Open since like 1970 and if you are not one of the 10 best golfers of all time it’s very unlikely that you’re going to get an exemption to the US Open so neeman’s probably not going to get one he’s got he’s going to have to play himself in but I want to see these guys do well at least one of them do well cuz every major that passes where they don’t do well I I feel it’s not that I care if Liv is considered good or bad because they have really good guys but it’s this tier of player that left to go to live that I I do want to see do well I’m with you Pat and thing is gu you think I’m a I I’m a talkbox squawkbox that guy he talks and talks and talks and usually out of his ass so if he’s in if he’s in like contention here it’ll be interesting because he said a lot of crazy things over the years and I think it’d be very very interesting I’m an Neeman guy because I like the fact that he’s won all over the world and I think he’s a good kid he’s also not bent me over like sanj and Hadi have so he’s a friend uh but yeah I think it would be really cool if gu was involved and we’d have a real fun broadcast this week and I don’t know he’s kind of a mystery player but payor G is actually pretty good like you know what I mean he talks a lot but he’s backing up with some quality performances yeah the the other thing that if Cam do you want to win 111,000 this week yeah if I wanted to win 8,000 in the derby I could use an extra 3K yes Patrick that would be great so take 40 of your hard-earned dollars or even actually it might be yeah I think 40 will still do it for you cu the odds have dropped a little bit you can do this too Ben if you want $111,000 take 40 of your hard-earned dollars and place it on Keegan Bradley to win at $230 to1 those odds don’t make any sense to me he is 230 to1 your guy Ben Bez is 195 to one yeah that’s can you do a little exact of them one two then we’re getting into seven figure territory doesn’t that seem like disrespect to Keegan I mean off the te if he murder it yeah it’s Keegan talk about bad experiences in the past but I mean he’s done it he’s done it it was a long time ago but Keegan got some Hardware uh in the trophy case it’s not like he can’t do it against the best in the world no that’s Point guys that’s a horrible price Keegan Bradley’s won big tournaments before he hits it pretty good off the and if his Putter’s hot he can play with anybody like that’s a guy that should have been like 125 like maybe not even that deep Pat like the fact like that’s total disrespect that line that’s what we’re talking about kind of like you know the Oilers Canuck series or whatever like no offense Edmonton shouldn’t been minus uh you know 280 that’s just stupid but I’m saying Keegan Bradley does not deserve to be at that number that’s a bad bad number that they posted Pat and you like to jump because you’re middle your name’s basically Vinnie value and you’ll jump on and stuff like that I don’t know if Keegan Bradley’s going to win the damn tournament but stranger things have happened and well we’ve seen when he goes kind of crazy he goes crazy we saw him win the PGA Championship and obviously this is the tournament that has the most repeat champions of anything if you want a w to maker you’re very likely to win another one as it turns out over the course of the past 30 years and then even to look at his past two performances at Heritage and Wells Fargo two tournaments that have like no correlation to each other whatsoever he was bad off the TM both which is atypical for him but he gained over four strokes on a Approach at Heritage he gained almost five at Wells Fargo last week he just hit it into the water a few times obviously he can’t do that at Valhalla if he wants a chance to win but the iron game is spiking right now if we catch one of those weeks where he actually makes putts spin we saw him run away with the Travelers we saw him run away with one of those FedEx Cup playoff events as well I think it came down to like him or Bryson or he ended up winning by four or something like that like he plays long hard courses well and just need to catch him in the right week not to say that he’s going to win at 275 to1 but although that would be very nice if he did that’d be very good for the show if everyone won $11,000 off 40 bucks but he’s the type of player that can win where I just look at the bottom here like none of these other guys I think are gonna win the good thing about situations like that was with Keegan is that he at so many points putts himself out of tournaments that it’s almost baked in and when he doesn’t his number is so undervalued because it’s like oh not only did he not lose five Strokes putting he gained six Strokes putting whereas there are other guys down there where their Baseline is more steady but that doesn’t help you for an outright because we need a true ceiling performance and if you look at the real you know bottom range there’s not that many guys that if I said if they had a miracle miracle run of 72 holes I think they could win it Keegan’s one of the few guys in that range uh like Lucas Glover for May uh that I think could do that both guys can’t putt so that I mean that that is baked into their price at the moment correct right let’s get to the gold Best Bets for the PGA Championship I will lead you off with a parlay as the best bet Scotty Sheffer you’ve heard of him he had a baby he is not going to WD from this tournament and his price for a top 20 is minus 375 so that’s not going to make the cut for the best bet show however if you parlay him with another top 20 that guy’s named being Xander Schley you get it to plus 117 Cam top 20 for both them brilliant and know what I like too I always hear you guys and I’m part of the Gary greed Club too I heard you what you were doing with Ben earlier Pat when I was in The Green Room like we can add enough can makeing seven sometimes you know what literally Scotty sheffer’s baby would have to have colic and him not hireing Nanny and basically like not get any sleep for like four days and then he like how does this guy not finish in the top TW anyway I shouldn’t say things like this on the show for first no but anyway I love your bet I think both guys I think Xander will contend but not get there and I think sheffler could probably win the tournament and finish top five great bet it’s a low bar for both these guys has a clear bed y oh no doubt about it and again you know everyone’s mentality in betting I think the the philosophy that most people agree on is you want to take home runs and you know that you’re going to swing and miss most of the time how do you get more at bats and it’s by taking bets that fuel that bankroll that allow you to take the home run shots on the keegans of the world these are the type of bets that can do it you know it’s not glamorous when you’re laying minus 130 or getting plus 120 but those are the bets when you’re talking about Break Even points that are much higher than you know I’m taking a you know a 200 to one shot a 30 to one shot where you’re not going to cash those often that’s just the reality of the situation Ben let’s go to you for your gold pick for this the PGA Championship So speaking of not glamorous uh I’m going to the top 40 Market with Benny on yeah minus 130 uh I’m just sticking with this formula he I was on the show last week and I had him in a matchup over spe and he played good once again uh third at Wells Fargo fourth at Byron Nelson off the tea has been strong a lot this year his putting is a little erratic but it’s it’s certainly spiked in recent weeks I just think Benny is churning out Quality quality results and at minus 130 for a top 40 you make the cut you move up the board and we call it a day it’s not going to make you rich but it could sustain the bank row a little and I I think it’s a really really solid play over the past 24 rounds cam benan number one in driving distance benan murders the ball he’s a great iron player if he ever learns the Putt and you know what I mean this guy’s gonna be scary as hell I think he’s a wicked golfer like if he could just figure it out like that’s one of those things like dude just hit some putts because the rest of his game to me is just I’m it’s world class great call Ben I like Ben on too this guy’s just been making people money every week crushing people in matchup bets I love the guy but here’s the deal Ben you got to hit some putts to win tournaments and that’s the key that’s what separates the best from guys who collect decent paychecks that’s the best if Ben on walked into like a Walmart in in Arkansas how many out of the people would like literally I don’t think I’m thinking 98 to 99 people wouldn’t know who the hell he was I mean if he walked anywhere I don’t think that 98 to 99% of people know he’s one of those guys who who’s Incognito and still makes money and that’s what I love about the PGA Tour you know you’re one of those guys it’s like wow I’m a great player nobody knows who the hell I am perfect just keep the paychecks coming so cam let’s go to you you you’re you’re in a bit of a different state of mind from when we did the master show which people have said people have mentioned that was a Hall of Fame performance from you hold on Pat just let me take a I’ll just down a bottle of vodka and I’ll get back to my New York ways now honestly you called me you’re like oh Cam I gave you the wrong time like I literally like just jumped in the shower hit the Irish Spring bang Bing Bing b bing bing like you know I mean so you’re right uh certain shows Pat if you really want me to bring my aame I’ll fuel myself with alcohol and whatever you want me to do if it helps the ratings because that’s the type of guy I am gold Brooks kepka split bet top 20 like Ben I’m not a greedy bear I just want a little bit of Honey Brooks kka can win this tournament minus 120 for a top 20 and a split it with a top 10 at plus 180 right down the middle like a ginso Brooks kka I love this guy this week top 20 you got to Le 20 cents are you kidding me I found so some sites 30 40 and I found a 20 that’s good enough for me and top 10 I literally think this guy could win so I’ll definitely take him as my gold pick with a top 10 and 20 bet split I like where your head is at because I did bet him to win I use my 30% boost on Ben bet 365 Ben to take him from 17 to1 to 23 and a half to one and that’s the biggest bet I got going this week yeah I mean there’s nothing to say with Brooks I’ve the guy shows up uh he’s always got win equity and I think he’s for me always a better outright bet um with the danger that he poses than some of the other markets uh you know like matchups and stuff because you can really get paid off and as you move down top 20s top 10 that type of stuff that’s a really nice range for a guy like Brooks because he he he knows what he cares about and I like that you know he doesn’t he doesn’t mask it he cares about these type of events he’ll be ready to go uh and he obviously loves these type of conditions if the winning score is say seven under or something like that T I got the same bet as you that boost on Brooks kka that’s unavoidable like you’re you’re you’re moving it up from like 14 to like 23 I’m in I did the same thing and quickly I know we’re going to go to gold silver and bronze Pat there was a boosted three-leg parlay at over 17 to one listen to this I had to bet this too maybe I’m a sucker Sheffer top 10 kka top 10 dambo top 10 over 17 to one put that in your pipe and smok it that’s a good price I don’t mind it Bryson is cuss picked to win oh God what was happening with that guy too I you sent something I was looking at it’s like you are my father I don’t have children no no like I’m like what the hell was that I I always get these tweets and I don’t understand it’s like always inside jokes with this guy but how’s cuss doing lately he seems a little bit uh you know I’m concerned about his health mentally actually recently been all over the place yeah well but then I have my own problems we we we got them drinking four liters of water a day now is step one so we’re going to see if we can hammer down on that for a month and we’re going to go from there excellent that’s one thing that that water water has kept me alive with diabetes I literally can go through a case of that Nestle water in two days like I drink so much day and then again I take about 42 pisses so I guess that’s the problem too on top of my diabetes medication but water’s good Ben when you drink what do you think are the ideal fin three pairings for this PGA Championship I briefly discussed this with Byron on the player by player show earlier on last week when we did our first look at the PGA Championship that if we were talking about ratings only and like what you would want to see because I do think that some like if you got Rory Brooks and Scotty all into the mix like those three guys being there all coming off wins that’s a draw but if you could somehow work spe into this I I think it’s a ratings Bonanza yeah I mean got those three obviously of like realistic guys being in battling would be awesome and then the other bucket for me would be spe tiger obviously um and maybe like someone from like maybe Dustin Johnson another live guy something like that uh Ricky yeah Ricky yeah Ricky would be a good one for this Ricky or Phil like I think you have like Phil or Phil or tiger category if you can get one of those guys or hell just or even speed cuz I think I think spe is spe is more of a needle mover not on the same tier no one’s on the same tier of Tiger but it would be then like Phil then spe as like people would be tuning in like oh [ __ ] spe has a chance win could you imagine Brooks and Rory and Rah and Bry I mean Bryson’s probably one of these guys that needs to be their to cam that if they’re going out and hitting at 340 and sheffler and they’re sticking it to 10 feet and they’re making birdies and then you also have speed who’s just chipping in from bunkers from everywhere hitting it into the woods off people but somehow he remains in attention people would love that spe’s good for business he talks to himself out there people like that stuff sometimes oh Jordan like a little bit you know whatever hey he’s I I don’t know if he’s gonna be there but you’re right Phil might do magical things because he’s Phil tiger I worry about uh who doesn’t move the needle like who’s the guy that actually puts the needle the other way Brandon Todd if the toddfa ended up there that wouldn’t be good I think you can almost directly look at the ratings and say Scotty Sheffer does not move ratings needles he moves them down that’s the thing I know and that’s the thing like I don’t he’s the best golfer in the world but he does it like quietly there’s no Tiger Woods fist pump there’s no comeback and remember the days Ben you know Pat like Rocko mediate versus tiger epic television Christ Marco versus you know what I mean when he was there like the battles you have and you know the emotion of it Scotty Sheffer just goes about his business with no pulse and hey it’s great for him and it’s a great way to play golf it just sucks for us it’s funny too because Ben he Sheffer has a spe type game like dude chips in every round like he’s an exciting to watch golfer there’s just something about him that’s not exciting yeah no his his style of play is super exciting it’s just spe is a little more you know he he lets you know what he’s think yeah and and Jeffer looks unfaced uh to his credit obviously is an incredible player we know that but it doesn’t it just I hate to say it but I’m being honest at times it annoys me um and it’s just like yeah I I don’t know because he seems like obviously a solid dude but his style of play is not that it annoys us because we’re like as golf betters four enough’s not a one not enough money on Sheffer then I’m sitting on Sunday going oh here we go now I got to put money on this guy to get something back that’s the problem he also screws us because his odds are so damn good and no guy wants to take a full field tournament with a guy who’s four to one annoying I would guess it’s probably sheffer’s rise and like how good he is I find is very reminiscent of when Dustin was the best player in the world and he was just like oh there’s a cardboard box winning every tournament yeah I didn’t like that either I’ll tell you Pat that pisses me off about Sheffer too and you guys are both there I used to bet this guy 40 to one second second second like I have documents like my girlfriend’s like bet Sheffer like every week I’m like yeah yeah and now he’s four to one and I’m like no I don’t want to bet him at that price and then he wins she’s like oh this guy just can’t lose it’s it’s very frustrating I don’t think he’s going to win this week though like this is the one week where with the baby and stuff I’m not taking him to win I mean every time he wins unless I I mean on DraftKings that’s okay because I’ll be having a ton of shefflers I always do turns out that’s a very high key to success I’ve been having my best DraftKings year ever although it hasn’t been so good since the Masters I guess Heritage was good because I had Scotty ended up com back to win in my main lineup but I just put Sheffer in my main lineup every week Ben and it prints money yeah no and I can speak to the other side of that because I don’t do that and it’s difficult to overcome when it’s like oh 22% of all tournaments have the winner and I’m I’m fiddling around with the guy uh who’s in 13th Place so uh can confirm sheffer’s been quite useful yeah it’s one of these situations where like you get emotion out of him and he seems like a super likable guy there’s just nothing fun about him at least with Dustin you know that he might be like going to the out house on eight and like doing some lines to get himself all fired up that guy’s unreal like it’s almost like he he doesn’t have a pulse uh I like him too like you know he doesn’t seem like a bad dude yeah that story where at the Masters you know we fell down the stairs drunk we’ve like come on we’ve done it before I’ve done it you know the banister is a little bit loose or you know you miss a stair we’ve all been there but uh yeah that’s cardboard box sorry this guy’s gonna see the show one day and I’m gonna get my ass kicked I’ve already been beat up by enough people and had my brain scrambled but anyway Dustin Johnson Pat I agree like he is just anyway can I tell I’ll tell you a story but I got to think about it first because uh it’s pretty crazy but it involves Dustin Johnson in a commercial and him not even being able to read Auto and they literally couldn’t do the commercial because he couldn’t get through it take 112 what’s the story okay well we’re at the RBC my girlfriend knows a chick who was like the media person they wanted Dustin Johnson to do a commercial he couldn’t read he’s like hi everybody when you’re banking at RBC like and they’re like hey can you like could we do the commercial here hi I’m Dustin Johnson for RBC you know do you like good rates like it just it was like honestly and they’re like please sir like can you do the commercial again again again they’re like just screw it we’re not doing this like it took so long on the take they ended up like just doing like a a voice over with some like corporate exec it was a disaster like he couldn’t get through the auto que like he couldn’t like read on the thing and stuff like that he’s just I don’t know he’s just one of those guys I guess nice fella yeah well that’s and they had to hit that queue I don’t have my prompter set up anymore because I haven’t used it in ages so I wasn’t able to load the scrip in I had to memorize 15 seconds and it took me like 80 takes I’m like that too it’s weird with certain stuff because like memory-wise I have like good recall on a lot of things and then there’s simple tasks that I’m just like that it’s going to take me two hours uh my brain just doesn’t work I when I write it down I remember it Pat but I did this thing I had to do a professional video for like the Kentucky Derby I called him like chasing Freedom instead of catching freedom because it was off like this Auto que thing and I’m I’m like it was a disaster I’m like just but when I write it down and go off the cuff I can do it so yeah I guess we’re all wired differently I don’t know how Dustin’s wired maybe a few are cut well I would think too that it all depends on the setting that you’re in because we don’t do notes or scripts or anything for shows like this we’ve been doing them for so long now that you get very comfortable speaking into a camera even coming up with your thoughts as you start a sentence like whenever you see me slow down I’m really trying to think about hey I have nothing to say here can I come up with something to say In This Moment whereas when you even if you give me something to say like this like if you had just told me hey you have a minute to do this 15-second thing I could fill the minute and tell you everything you need to know about those 15 seconds but it had to be 15 seconds it just throws me for a loop it’s very true it’s very true yeah Pat and I’m not proud of this as you know like I’ve done some of my best work Under the Influence too so it’s just like we’re all very I don’t know like I I gonna take Bryson D Shambo top 20 plus 130 um I like him this week I don’t really like the guy personally he’s not like one of my favorite golfers but I’m thinking V Hala and him make a lot of sense he murders it he’s got the complete Game he’s a very good golfer we’ve talked about these things these guys in live they have talented guys don’t let’s not kid ourselves here Bryson T Shambo actually starting to peek in the right direction as well his play is better I’m getting plus money for a top 20 I think there’s a little bit of cushion there not sure about the top 10 but you know what you want to give me plus money at top 20 I also bet I’m outright in this tournament I found a 30 to one to win so I’m going to take D Shambo top 20 okay I I like it I think everyone the the one thing that scares me Ben about Bryson is that everyone seems to be on Bryson myself included cam cus you everyone I talk to love Bryson for this tournament yeah and I I think it’s you know the like at at Augusta he did just like the perfect amount of he got me really interested he obviously didn’t break through or anything and now it’s like oh this is the next spot for a lot of people for for at least like someone like me you know the live guys it’s major to Major I’m not super in depth betting them week over week so it’s like oh Bryson I want to get exposure to him the next time I I I really had an opportunity post Augusta here we are and that is a little concerning I do BET live I do bet Liv every single week and I am the I I wish there was a second only market for Liv I’ve hit four consecutive second place finishers on live sucks that’s quite un sounds like me on the PGA to say you know how that goes yeah but at least Sheffer is winning all these events and you were never going to bet him anyway like cam Smith oh he comes in second to Brooks oh Louie he comes in second to Brendan steel somehow I had charl too who came in third in Adelaide he had like 175 to one no no can’t do it Brennan steel had the best week of his career [ __ ] Bren steel steel cut oats I love charl you always know it Pat I love about you you always take us and Charli you gota you’re a sucker for South African veterans hey I like charl and the reason that I was on him that week is that because his finishes are either top five or last in the field like those are the perfect guys to it’s almost like that Keegan thing that we talked about earlier at 275 that yeah he might come dead last like I don’t care if he comes dead last he was 275 to one but he will finish at the top of leaderboards too you have to pick the right week so if you just kind of stay on him you can get lucky with that and Louie like honest to God I I really wish he was playing in this PGA Championship cuz I would have bet him to win because he is very sneakily playing the I wouldn’t say he’s the best in the world right now but he’s like close to a top 20 top 15 player with the results that he’s putting up he’s sneaky long too Ben like that’s the thing that people don’t know like about Louie like he looks like a little hello everybody you know just sits there but the guy he hits it a long way he’s a great iron player one of the best and uh when he’s putting hot he’s putting very hot no Lou us is a great golfer in my opinion Pat and you’re right um I just think he’s a guy definitely play him in matchup bets this week if he was around and uh I consider him kind of underrated he hasn’t really broken through the way I want to but as a guy for career earnings and such brilliant career I mean that’s your guy right there Ben Lou usas and is an open Champion so we’ll see him in the Open Championship later on this year and he does have the grand slam of majors of second places second place that’s right yeah I mean doesn’t take a lot to convince me for Lou also cost me by far the most amount of money of any player via withdraws it’s not even close um it’s an obene amount in in the uh the DFS streets over over the years but I still love uh my favorite you know UPS sponsor in Louie at least Hideki did as a favor last week and didn’t hit a ball that’s the worst thing is when you hit a ball oh my my shoulder my back it’s like dude if you’re not 100% just don’t hit a ball and screw us up just withdraw before the tournament starts be a man looking back at the 2014 leaderboard cam for valala obviously it’s going to be different the setup’s going to be different the fairways are different but this really stood out to me if you just look at driving distance of the top 25 on the leaderboard of valhal in 2014 only four of those players didn’t gain on the field in terms of driving distance for the week two of those players Stenson and Steve Stricker were one and two in putting for the week so that’s how they ended up getting there and the other two SN and fura combined to gain 10 Strokes putting as well so unless you ride we ended up picking against Brian Harman in that Underdog segment cam but like that’s how Brian Harman ends up on the leaderboard here it’s not because he’s doing really anything else great points and I heard you guys before listen that’s what guys I bet out right now Kea hits it big cam young you know I don’t not sure if he’s gonna win but I love him in some matchup bets D Shambo you know looking at Windam Clark these are guys that like you need distance like it’s just one of those things this course is 7600 yards like you know what I mean and even for some of these guys he small ball hitters like valala can eat you up I was just gonna ask your opinion guys about Justin Thomas being from Kentucky we just had the Kentucky Derby we’re in Kentucky what do you feel about thas uh really down on himself he seems to be I don’t know what to thing I I think he’s getting better and then he’s just kind of lingering is this who he is now like this guy used to like he won Majors like I I just he blows my mind I don’t know what to think I I like Tom I think he’s a good DraftKings play Ben I I don’t think he’s gonna get my money at 40 to one yeah I mean he’s got a PGA and too he has flat too there you go he’s got flashes of it like even when I watched that last he’s spraying it a little bit but you know he wasn’t perfect played well on tough courses that was his Mo he just can’t Putt and I used to watch this guy hit 30 foot triple breaking snakes and he can’t hit as Ben said six seven Footers blowing it past the hole he’s got to figure something out like I don’t know putting’s in your head that’s one of these things man it’s tough my silver pick for the PGA Championship and I I bet this guy outright at 85 to one which his number has dropped to right now I I don’t know what’s going on maybe I’m the one who’s missing something Ben but I got will zotus plus 260 top 20 like this guy is the best guy in Majors who’s not like a guy who’s won one yeah I mean I think it’s it’s just like the world we live in now it’s beyond what have you done for me lately like if if this was played right after you know uh like genesis and API will Z would be the talk of everything but it’s like oh you know there’s just five other guys that you know you know the a bear and and cam Young Who I do really like some of those guys have jumped the list and if Wiz is healthy and ready to go I mean he’s another big game guy shows up in the biggest events he’s already done that quite a bit uh you know he’s gonna get it feels like he’s on the list with many guys that are obviously gonna have some Majors when it’s all said and done third overall in this field cam in Strokes gained per round in major championships over the past three years only behind Rory and Sheffer Sheffer being number one Rory being number two somehow and then it’s zot torus and the putter was bad at Quail Hollow and he had a bad week at Quail Hollow he came 60th it was not good but when you take a look at his top 20 finishes so far this year where are they at oh Ninth at the Masters fourth at API second at Genesis and 13th at Tory Pines those courses resemble a whole lot more of this week than the players or the Heritage do where he did not play well yeah you know what Pat it’s one of those things like to me he’s a top 20 guy he screwed me so many times like of winning a tournament or losing to Luke list in a playoff and all the other stuff that’s gone on with zot tors and I really like the kid like I I I want him to do well I think he seems like a good guy and he’s grinding out there but uh more of a top 20 play top 10 play for me with this but his distance will do him a lot of favors this week and you’re right it’s about the putting this putting’s average he’ll be in contention yeah so top 20 plus 260 for will zot torus is the silver pick from me Ben your silver pick yeah a little dangerous uh well you know I gotta make one pick that’s a borderline donation and this is definitely going to be it I’m going to I don’t even know if I can do this apparently anything goes second choice Cory coners is a favorite on the board but to Ben’s Point Pat hendrith win another great performance on a tough course last week he’s just in really good form and this course you need to hit it hendrith m like he’s a strong he’s a strong lad he could have played hot like this guy’s a very good athlete man he’s a big dude he murders it I love that pick Ben I hope you win because I did the exact same pick pendri has gained Strokes putting in every event this year good and that’s his weakness no that’s his strength he’s basically what about hitting the ball off the teap his driving is amazing it is but the thing that’s really propped him up which has made him different the past two weeks like his approach play is God awful like it’s it’s objectively bad the chipping has been good the past two weeks which it normally isn’t It’s Kind it’s weird the strategy that he used to win at the Bunny Ranch a few weeks ago and even that he employed last week too is very reminiscent to the weeks where Bryson would win where he’d beat everyone off the tea and every one putting and then just whatever else he did in between didn’t matter you’re right you’re I’m just telling you I think Benz on to something golf’s one of those things don’t get off guys that are hot M Hughes has been great great too and Pat I know let’s be you know positive I you know I ripped Dustin Johnson for his Masters and being ranked inside the top five in the world for like three years but he never felt like he was a dominant guy like Norway has like two golfers ever but one of them’s Victor like we’ve never had a star on the same level as Victor from Norway what about Chris Ventura bogey detective is he Norwegian where the hell happened to that guy there’s the other one k kjj whatever that guy’s name is too I forgot about him so something to your pendrith point here so another really long course that I haven’t talked about all week but I’ve kind of keeping my back pocket to see if there’s some guys at the bottom of the board that we can go to the barbasol class CL is also in Kentucky and is a super long course albeit a much easier course past three years at that venue in that tournament cam pendrith 6th 13th and 11th I think Ben rested the case and you you bam doesn’t take Lionel Hutson and a smoking monkey to figure this one out this guy’s gonna do well you know I’m taking him and you know what Ben I’m cheering for you it’s nice to see pendra do well and that’s the one thing about Canadian golf sometimes you have to break through a little bit now he’s got confidence like he’s been short before he went he he won and then he played great again I I think he’ll play well in this major I would not be shocked if he was actually like like page one or two of the leaderboard Pat like things he could play well Espen kofstad is another nor yes yeah ESPN Espin it’s Espin cansen isn’t it cansen no it’s kofstad oh Kad okay sorry there’s another Canen out there too the can yeah yeah those damn Canin all right let’s talk about Underdog fantasy pick him for round one of the PGA Championship Ben roza we we lost cam for a little bit we can talk about Thursday me looking at the weather on Thursday Thursday looks like the best day possible for scoring and that’s something that I think is going to be really interesting because you know not every day of course is the same it does seem Prime for scoring obviously the course is a beast we’re going to see how it plays but I agree with you just taking a peak you know for for purposes of single round stuff and early uh you know scoring for Thursday this seems like Prime conditions for these guys I’m interested to see how low they go so do you think that we should be targeting the lowers on all of the top guys because I’m thinking about who are the guys in Majors who generally show up in round one Bryson Scotty Brooks like those three guys we just go lower lower lower and let it ride I mean there’s something obviously to that you talk about you know the correlation and whatnot um easy conditions are you know unless there’s crazy wind splits which I I don’t see at all I think it does it does lend itself to that doesn’t mean you need to blanket it but some of these guys that are prone to like Bryson of course uh is like the the king of that going low and then maybe regressing a little bit so I don’t mind that type of strategy at all actually yeah Bryson is at 69 right now nice in terms of his opening score for Thursday so we go lower than that he needs to be three under or better so they have factored this in a little bit maybe we play like birdies are better like really really try to juice up the pot or do you think that we should try to play it a bit safe get a 3 to1 5 to1 in the mix try to hit that or do we like shoot for the moon here play some hearts and get a 17 to one on Hearts yeah why not uh yeah I I mean this course so I always try to think because there’s really two types of not two but I think in in a macro world there’s two types of courses that can both be challenging you have courses that are just like incredibly difficult to score on in terms of birdies then you have other courses where it’s like you may make four or five birdies in your round but you’re probably going to make a double or a triple and they get you like that and I’m trying to kind of think what is Valhalla more prone to because if we think it’s more there’s just crazy blowup holes I might want to Target some over on birdies are better and say I’ll take a triple as long as my guy gives me you know six to eight birdie looks the the cam young effect is essentially I think what’s that what that’s called correct and and I I already told you uh I’m cam young got me right in the tractor beam uh I’m I’m back in him this week and that freaks me out a little so obviously I went through this on the research show and went through the scorecard a little bit and have this played in 2014 the fairways have changed the T boxes have changed you could probably expect a little bit more Rollo but I don’t think that scoring overall is going to change that much and what do we have here one 2 3 four five six holes with a birdie or better rate over 20% with number 18 being at 50% or 54% birdie or better because it’s a 4% Eagle rate on that hole over 30% % on the short power four number four then you have the rest of the power five so if you can sneak one somewhere else be it on number nine which has an over 20% birdie rate or the short power four number 13 maybe that’s the route that we look at here so just Target the guys who hit the ball forever down the Fairway and just go birdies are better over I think that’s kind of how I lean and I mean yeah obviously things have changed in a decade and I don’t have it maybe you do in front of me but Rory was he was in the middle of like 15 under s give or take uh just from what I remember it’s not like he won this at like five under or anything no but I do think that that was a decade ago and it does seem like the PGA Championship has made a conscious effort to make the PGA Championship harder over the past decade because four of the past five winners have been single digits under par I believe Rory won at minus 16 yeah but again and that goes back to even if it even if the winner and not that the winner matters for this type of mentality but like you might be able to still card you know 18 birdies uh it’s just that the the danger is lurking and I think you just rattled off a ton of holes you mentioned uh there’s a pretty getable car four out there I kind of like that strategy of saying all right I don’t I don’t need to worry about the risk it just give me the upside and the reward so Rory is at four and a all the elite players this week are at four and a half at least for Thursday for birdies or better but you can get basically even odds or even Juiced up a little bit on Underdog code Mayo at Underdog Fantasy really do want to hit on the pick and we’re gonna be doing a ton of live pick them during the cut Sweat Show on Friday which is just going to be an absolute laugh either we’re going to win a bunch of money or lose a bunch of money but you can sweat it along with us I did want to point out that I have a new cut sweat I mean you have the cut sweat you know that really gets your heart going you have a bet at the end that gets your heart going I booked a trip to cabat Links which is the number one and number three course in Canada the links and the cliffs because it’s about a three and a half hour drive from where I live but the way it’s so North so the and it’s directly on the coast so you never know what kind of weather you’re going to get so right now it’s telling us that we have like two nice sunny days with not that much wind when we’re going up but we’re like 12 days away from going that the weather sweat when you’re going to a golf trip that you have to actively drive and go do and knowing that like if it flips it’s going to be 48 degrees raining and 50 mile per hour winds that’s a real sweat Ben oh that’s a sweat uh that’s why I don’t go outside I avoid that sweat what do you mean going outside I see you outside every day given picks yeah I know but the people people get very I I’ve told you that before people get very upset when I go outside uh they they don’t like me out of my element win or lose you get a lot of crazies there but no I’ve been I’ve been out and that will be have you played those courses before yeah I usually try to go up once or twice a year so I’ve played them almost in all conditions at this point although I’ve locked out the last two years and we’ve had beautiful weather one time cust and I played the first three holes were into 60 mile per hour win then the wind stopped it was awesome yeah that sounds like quite an adventure man I’m just scrolling on Underdog there’s a lot of different options too I mean you’ve got those big time players but there’s a lot of flexibility with with who you can to uh in some of these markets well if we do think they talked about these new zoa grass Fairways being firm and fast faster than we probably would have seen with just Bentgrass when this was played in August obviously it’s being played in May right now this is better for this time of year that’s why they switched the grass types but Underdog is offering there’s fantasy points there’s Fairways hit greens and regulation hit but there’s also driving distance for the 18th hole do you think the driving distance will be like long like cuz we expect it to be wet cuz it’s going to rain like all day on Wednesday and this is kind of the big kicker to this it looks like there’s rain on Wednesday rain on Friday rain on Saturday rain on Sunday but Thursday as it stands right now is completely void of precipitation and there’s no wind so do you think we just try to do we go under on that do we go over on that like that’s the part that I’m struggling with yeah I mean obviously I think it’s pretty the easy part is it seems like when you make your decision you’re GNA qu like because clearly if there’s a strategy or there’s just like a ton of roll out I tend to think that you would want to go over I think these guys can be pretty aggressive on that hole you mentioned you got you got a score and it doesn’t mean that you need to be crazy off the tea it’s not a long par five but at the same time on Thursday in particular I tend to think some guys will be able to really get after it we also have some like Fairways hit and I thought it was somewhat low like Hideki has been one of the more accurate players off the tea I know that his odds have dropped down to 75 to1 a little inside scoop on Hideki I did get a DM from someone who saw playing a practice round on Saturday after you had massive back problems does seem like it may have just been I don’t want to play this week I have a back problem let me prepare for the PGA Championship but his Fairways hitter eight that seems low yeah that’s another one where it’s like part of that I I do think correlates I know you’re were talking about just driving distance on whole 18 te but in general like will guys say okay even though it’s a long course no doubt about it let me put a little emphasis on accuracy uh you know hit some safer clubs off the te keep myself out of the thick stuff I mean eight Fairways hit that’s it’s not a lot uh and Dei is one of the better you know total drivers out there yeah whereas you have someone like ludvig is at eight and a half I know ludvig is also quite accurate off the tea but Hideki just really stands out in my mind is kind of being that guy yeah like Corey Connor comes to my mind yeah eight eight and a half for Corey Connors and there’s what three par 3es there’s four power three so it’s out of 14 still yeah I mean you can there still a lot of opportunities uh I kind of like that actually Airways hit H yeah I’m just trying to figure out the best way to attack it because this is like really the first week I can remember where Underdog has so early rolled out a lot of these things I think that we want to get on it now and there’s a deposit Bon a new deposit bonus at Underdog with code Mayo you can get up to 250 bucks as a deposit bonus and you get a free Square for Thursday if you’re a new player so I think it’s like Scotty over under like. five Strokes you just take the higher I think that’s capped at like 25 bucks or 20 bucks or something like that but if you deposit 10 you know you get your John Daly on this thing they have Phil too I I really want to pick against Phil but Phil’s been really good at Valhalla all three times they’ve played here I get that he’s 85 years old now but and he has not been good on live but there’s still something that kind of scares me about him yeah yeah it scares me too uh in a in a very disturbing seven and a half Michael block eight and a half um yeah I mean God there there’s just there’s definitely something to I think you start as we were kind of tossing it around just what are the conditions going to be uh scoring wise roll out wise weatherwise and then from there I think some of these build themselves honestly so do we want to take Rory four and a half birdies or better or do we want to take him lower than 68 and a half so he would need to be three under or better I’d rather personally have the birdies I think I would too but what about then I was looking at Xander like I would expect all the big names like maybe we target the big names at this course that’s kind of what we saw last time around outside of tiger who missed the cut at Valhalla in 2014 like Scotty 3 under are better or Scotty higher than four and a half birdies are better Xander lower than 69 stroke so a three is a win and you know two is a push in that sense or do we just play the birdies for all of them and just hope they go out and have it because I do think they’ll probably have one day or we get into the reverse situation where they look at the weather report which we know the tour is not good to do ever but this is the PGA of America maybe they have a little bit more sense than that and they actually put the pins in difficult locations because they know that the conditions are going to be better it is possible that again and those are all macro decisions but to me yeah someone like Xander you mentioned uh two is a push three under is a win that’s a nice pairing too you know he started quickly uh last week he’s playing Great Golf I know the wins are not coming but that’s a different that’s a different scenario than what we’re talking about I I don’t mind pairing him up as one of the other elite players on the card so here’s what we can do we can play a five Banger if we want to although it’s because we have correlated them all’re it’s not giving us the payout that we really want with a lot of the stuff uh which is unfortunate but we can play a three if we just go with three so you like cam young right I do I do and we can play him four birdies or better higher than that so he makes five of them on the course which he’s prone to do he’ll just make like three triple Bogies along with it correct then you have zat torus who I really like this week I have him at four four birdies are better as well then you have Brooks to be 69 is his stroke total higher or lower we can go lower than that does Brooks shoot three three under or better day one and We’re Off to the Races a little bit yeah I mean what do that what does that come out to do you have it yeah 477 so almost five to one I can get down with that and the nice thing again is you can switch you could swap you can go against the grain on one you know the correlation is always a delicate bance with these you know we talk about that a lot over on my side of the street in od Chopper about you know finding that blend on Underdog of of correlating but also being against the Green to try to maximize the payout well if you can do that let’s say like someone like Brian Herman who doesn’t come in with the best form but has played really well at major championships if you take the higher on him 70 and a half Strokes all of a sudden let’s take Brooks off and we’ll put Harmon on now our three Banger because we have anti-correlation where we’re saying hey these two guys are going to score and this guy is not going to score are three pick him turns into six and a half to one instead of plus 475 and that’s what you’re weighing you know it’s like yeah is it correlated no not really but if you can Target one guy that maybe bucks the trend look at the the uh you know the leverage you’re getting in terms of that payout for the same number of legs I mean it worries me maybe Herman is too good of a player to do this against but if you can find someone that you don’t like in round one where’s JT Poston I always like to pick against him of course they’re not offering JT Poston because everyone would pick on JT Poston in difficult field courses at super long courses but I do think that there is correlation to this you just have to hope that Brian Harmon doesn’t gain eight Strokes putting in the first day because you have two bombers and we could even change zotus to xando or someone that you feel more comfortable with if zalot Taurus isn’t the answer on this but you have your two bombers we’ve identified this is a bombers track we’re going to say that they are going to go out and score whereas the guys with lesser driving distance towards the back half that unless they run the hot putter get so aggressive with their irons and harman’s irons have not been good at any point over the past basically since the PLAYERS Championship they’ve been really bad that hey maybe he shoots even power if he shoots even power we’re a winner here so it’s not like he needs to shoot plus five it’s 70 and a half Strokes just even par will be good enough for us that maybe some of these holes are just a bit too daunting in wetter conditions where you’re not going to get as much roll out for him this week so I think I like that one I’m down with it like I said I’m going to be building out a lot of these uh as well because I think there’s an edge to be had and it’s it’s not just about that correlation like you mentioned we don’t need the guy to finish dead for last just a couple of Aaron holes if you think he’s got some blowout Equity uh blow up Equity I should say you can really really look to dig like havin is a mystery man for me that I might look to Buck the trends with would you want to go higher or lower because he comes in with a very nice ball striking performance at qua Hollow but couldn’t chip I mean obviously he couldn’t chip but he also couldn’t putt which is something that he normally does do and that’s someone where it’s like of course I I know how good havland is but I think there is a chance again when you’re talking only about 18 holes couple bad chips a couple bad putts and all of a sudden you know over 69 and a half Strokes is is very attainable and if you put that with a couple of guys to do well you’re you’re over six to one uh on those payouts the other one I would look at too would be ludvig ludvig coming in with this knee injury maybe it was just a rest week for him to get himself prepared for the second major but uh another inside source that I have that say that he was like holding his back and his leg on the Range on Monday like I don’t know what to do with that information but I do find it curious and maybe it’s because Hideki has burned so many people so often throughout the course of the years they’re like oh yeah I can’t play Hideki but no one is lining up to say hey don’t play Oar because he’s injured but maybe he is maybe we just go and he’s at 69 like in order for him to beat the 69 higher or lower he needs to be three under or better in the first round round two would be a push and one under is a winner for us yeah that could be a tall task with this layout again we it’s it’s round one we’re not going to see the course and be able to react to it so uh it’s gonna be fascinating I I number two we got to do the anti-correlation to get those odds up Brian Haron not a long hitter we’re going to be targeting bombers for scoring and try to go the other way to increase our odds for anti-correlation Brian Haron higher than 70 and a half Strokes we just need him to shoot even perr he doesn’t need to be plus nine just even perr for Brian Herman someone go snap his Putter and then he’s going to be useless and we’ll be fine on that leg and then we’ll take a little spicy tamale with Bryson de Shambo who has been excellent in the first round of major championships but he’s known to make a bogey or two in his time we don’t care about that we just need the birdies or better on the table six of the hes at Valhalla in 2014 had a 20% or higher birdie or better rate the power five them to somehow correlate and I want them to be for basically a lotto ticket I I don’t like playing them as like a safe bet good call yeah it’s always that balance I mean you’ve got a couple you can never say free squares but then it’s it’s do you want to really rev it up and take some guys that are you know truly cut sweats from the very beginning uh or load up with more of the like okay these are these are the best of the best and I think I can avoid the landmines because there is going to be I think we all know there’s going to be a couple big names that are are watching from home this weekend that’s just how it works I was going to add cam young and Windam Clark to it and then then we get to a real number but I don’t know I just as you have it right now the odds of those five guys making the cut is exactly the same as Taylor pendrith making the cut interesting and then you have you don’t have all the variables you have one guy I you know what it is I usually hit the not a recipe for Success it’s not sustainable uh and he’s just shown time and time again you know you mentioned there’s 20 creative players in here but look at the Masters he couldn’t get through there in that short field so I I just don’t see it right now with rose and I I’ll continue to short him where did you find that number cuz I was looking at 365 I don’t see it is that on DraftKings I have the Rory and Scotty both separate bets- round 4 finish position 1.5 or better mixed with some higher then 3.5 bogeys higher on some really volatile high bogey makers that pays like 35x n I really think it's gonna be Rory or Scotty to win. The UnderDog scorchers🌶️
