uh how it unfolded out there in Denver as we awaited a home team win for the first time in this series you Mike Conley out with a Killy soreness um nicolea yic hoisting that trophy for the third time in four years M K’s definitely a big loss but that’s not what decided this game that man right there cooking Rudy goar is what decided this as it should be Anthony Edwards meantime just five out of 15 on the night 18 points if for a guy who’s giving you 30 every night yeah that’s a big that’s Advantage by Rudy too big too strong Ry physical and Michael Malone was complaining about offensive fouls then got like three calls in a row Takei off Aaron Gordon when Aaron Gordon picked up those two FS it actually helped Denver because it matched Rudy Goa on Joker and that’s when the unslot started there is Gordon again and then Joker doing Joker [Applause] stuff 50 to 44 that’s your halftime score Minnesota comes out and claims the lead there’s Carl Anthony towns yeah you know what Ernie but you never felt the momentum swing you know you always felt that Denver was in it and they were still in it every time the momentum never swung in the pendulum never swung when said man they might lose this game Joker had 16 in the third quarter Denver put a 23 to8 run together in the process footwork series tell me about it Vince whatever I want I’mma do period I mean he just you can tell once he got the ball that’s the matchup he wanted and he had something to prove tonight on his way to a 4013 assist zero turnover night hey Z been getting a lot of dunks lately good oh cook hey come here oh tough was he to defend no matter what you were throwing at him and and what kind of a game did he have I mean you saw it he had a MVP um best player in the world performance I mean it’s you know he tried to do a bit of everything on him and he um he had it all going so we didn’t really have an answer for him and uh honestly we haven’t had a great one last couple games so um what has he maybe figured out about how you guys are trying to defend him or is he just that good at reacting in the moment to what you might be throwing at him that he’s able to read what’s coming I mean he a lot of the stuff he’s doing is just kind of one-on-one defense you know or just um backing us down using his body hitting us first playing off of that um you know he’s uh passing cutting when he catches us standing um great solid fundamental basketball it’s like he’s he’s figured out of course like they give him the ball early they run around a million people off of him and he hangs on to it or he gives it off but if he hangs on to it then he just backs you down and then forces you to you know kind of commit to him one way or another so and tonight they were obviously throwing a lot of attention at him um what made it hard for maybe him to get in a rhythm and the offense as a whole especially in the yeah I thought I mean I thought the offense started great and then um the three charges in a row were kind of Reckless took us out of a great Rhythm put us in foul trouble or let us into foul trouble um you know I thought the the easy kickouts were there on a lot of those plays um we just needed to keep making the simple play you know I think um we we got our offense kind of let us down again just simple you know they put two on the ball with ant we knew that was going to happen they’ve been doing it all series and now you know missing Mike and some another Handler out there next to him we expected it to even be more exaggerated I mean they came in with late doubles I thought for the most part aun did a good job of staying patient and moving the ball maybe we were a little late then moving it out of that um which would have gotten us a couple good looks and when we did get good looks um we had some naked ones too like they just they didn’t go in Jaden um Nelle in particular we needed those guys to connect tonight so I was talking about the guys I I have a feeling the Joker would never admit it because he’s such a humble Superstar but did he take this personally did he because because he’ll say look we needed he’ll say we needed a win and but was this personal in your mind I think so I mean we talked about it halftime you talk about barbecue chicken it was the one thing like I know that I can score on this guy another one I was trying to prove looked like he was trying to prove a point I said to to to Dre half time was like he he’s he’s trying to prove that yeah you’re against the defensive player of the year it’s just footwork it was like I mean maybe not first move but second move I feel like I could score but no I I’m going to get you on the third move just I’m going to have you looking crazy now I’m going to pass behind my back I’m going to do whatever I want to do and I I it felt personal start to finish so as a score EV is there anybody that you had that feeling and said I got to prove to him into the world that I’m the best scorer in the league like Joker tonight I looked at some guys that there were some codes that I needed to to crack uh Pippen when I first got in there trying to figure out Bruce Bowen and San Antonio defense and in general but Bruce Bowen um the Knicks defense at that time just trying to figure out how to maneuver because I was seeing double and triple team so if you started rolling you were gonna send a message it didn’t matter no you started sending a message if you started rolling that’s what I’m asking like Joker you felt sent a mess especially if it’s a a great defender right that’s maybe gotten the best of you or whatever the case may be it’s time to send a message particularly if I’m rolling that’s my time you know because they’re going to have their time against you what Joker showed tonight is that he doesn’t feel Rudy go bear uh he he just backed up backed him down backed him down left hand right hand steep this way step that way float this way he showed tonight that he didn’t feel him they have 40 points 13 assists seven rebounds and zero turnovers like I’d love to see what his usage rate was tonight and you I had no turnovers and 40 points on 22 shots I didn’t feel you the entire night and yes it was personal yes Rudy Gober and those guys came out and played great defensively in those first two games in Denver and Denver came back home and wanted to show that that wasn’t real we are who we said we are and he embarrassed the hell out of Rudy Gober yeah I I think they they realized the fire they were playing with by dropping those first two games in their gym and saying why we cannot let us we cannot get in a situation like that again and man that they take care of business meantime on Minnesota’s end you’re not going to win series if if Anthony Edwards is shooting the way he did tonight and only scoring 18 points and and you tell me I mean defensively I’m just watching the game as a fan and obviously I’m seeing bodies at Anthony Edwards every time he’s touching it yeah and making him making him give it up and forcing him into tough shots I mean what’s Anthony Edwards got to do as as the series goes back to Minnesota well it’s funny because Draymond and I I said it before the game and he just kind of brought it up uh he has to Hope Mike connley comes back because what happens what before the game I said this might be a tough night for for an he’s like no an is great which he is but when you could see him from the middle of the court now you have 10 eyes on him so 10 eyes are able to figure out left right down the middle but when he’s coming off the Baseline and I’m guarding him now I have to see where he’s coming from so now there’s only six eyes on you there is a difference when 10 eyes are on you and six eyes are on you the way you guys send Steph Curry on the Baseline yeah because now it’s not as many people watching him because but when he’s dribbling out front all eyes on me baby he’s Tupac and so we like we got you we could figure you out a little bit easier we can make it tougher but when you come in baseb and you’re dunking and you throwing Aly oops and then you have that it’s too much so he needs help and and they alluded to it a ball Minneapolis for game six of this series trying to close it out Minnesota trying to force a game seven nope in the western conference semal not feeling that all right no sir more highlights on the way
