NASCAR is launching an inseason tournament airing on TNT Sports in the summer of [Music] 2025 and just like clockwork NASCAR fans complaining about the most dumbest [ __ ] imaginable don’t get me wrong NASCAR fans have had a right to complain about stuff over the past two decades from the point system to the current package which by the way let me go on record and saying that this weekend’s Allstar race is probably going to be boring as hell fans have a right to complain about the short tracks being completely dead in the Nascar Cup Series but when it comes to the most recent news we got regarding NASCAR’s future it’s like really y’all are really complaining about this and the first story we’re going to talk about is NASCAR’s new tournament bracket in 2023 Denny Hamlin came up with the idea on his podcast and it goes as follows the top 32 drivers make it into the tournament with the number one seated driver taking on the number 32 seated driver and so on and so on it breaks down from 32 to 16 then 8 and then you have the four and then you have the two taking on each other in the final race and whichever driver finishes ahead of the other moves on so it’s basically like survive in advance well Denny Hamlin kept track of it last year and in the final round it was William Byron versus Brad kazlowski with Byron beating him out it wasn’t an official NASCAR thing but it was hella fun to keep track of and now NASCAR is taking that exact bracket style tournament and implementing it into their season the prior three races airing on Prime video will set the seating for the tournament as the sanctioning body tries the New Concept during the first season in its historic 7-year media rights deal and that’s important to remember here we are entering a new era in terms of of media rights with Amazon Prime TNT and Max coming along to broadcast NASCAR races Amazon and TNT are splitting 10 races during the midseason and I’m going to be honest the midseason can be the most dest part during the season barring some random winner coming out of nowhere the NASCAR playoffs are usually decided around this time I don’t see the problem with adding a little more incentive for teams and drivers to compete harder and the best part is that it is not going to affect the points one bit there’s no points incentive with this tournament it’s all money for a million as a matter of fact and for TNT it makes perfect sense to have this Turner Broadcasting is not only coming back into the sport for the first time in over a decade but it’s only going to be for five races one less race than they had in their previous deal you also have to take into account that they’ve been covering the NBA for decades and from the looks of it they’re about to get out bitted by NBC for the NBA rights deal and the NBA just held their first inseason tournament and it was a huge success Denny Hamlin basically came up with the idea last year and I’m assuming TNT during negotiations was like hey can we have something like this for our five races and NASCAR is like well what do you know we already have something lined up while it’s an entirely different concept does anyone remember Winston Cup’s Noble 5 contest yeah back in the Winston Cup they had something like this and without question the greatest moment from it was Dale senior’s final Winston Cup victory so I really don’t see the issue with it it’s a fun inseason tournament for money not points and it’s only going to be for five races but of course parts of the Nascar fan base have to [ __ ] complain don’t we have a [ __ ] overflow of gimmicks already why don’t we trim those down and pretend to build up the dam of legitimacy that slap shoes discuss L WTF why do they need this don’t need gimmicks the goal is to win the race every Sunday and win a championship I think this is dumb dash for cash and triple truck challenge work because it’s the top four guys from the previous week and it’s One race it’s easy to understand and not really gimmicky what happened when the first place guy wrecks and finishes last and the 32nd Place guy finishes ahead of them in the race and they move on it’s not legitimate then they probably get eliminated later what what and this is a bracket how is this going to be hard to understand this is really stupid in my opinion I fear the broadcast will focus more on this than the actual race itself hope I’m wrong thanks Denny gimmicks don’t make the sport entertaining a really good racing product does okay I’ll agree with the last part about the racing product but come on this is just something that’s supposed to be fun God this is stupid fire Elton Sawyer fire Ben kennedy fire Steve Phelps fire Steve O’Donnell this is absolutely disgusting gimmicky garbage and the amount of fans and praising this horrific decision is proof that NASCAR will never be properly gone from the gimmicky BS ever again and this is by far the most favorite negative comment I’ve read done with NASCAR until all Races count for the championship and they stop taking breaks by the way during the break do the drivers get get milk and cookies he’s talking about stage breaks and the replies to this are hilarious you proved his point and goodbye fake F but along with those replies are fans who are also in the same boat as me y’all don’t know about the Winston Noble 5 and it shows damn these fans will complain about anything it’s similar to the null 5 they could go back to a season long Championship again and they will still find a way to complain can people please give it a chance the amount of complaining on here here is insane this literally makes the summer months which are always boring more compelling and y’all are hating on it truly a bunch of crybabies it’s unreal why are people mad WTF it’s a money Race For Crying Out Loud well races it’s people being a bunch of morons this takes nothing away from the races it only adds to things people just want to stay mad at everything nowadays the part of the fan base you refer to is going to be negative about l Lally everything and have been since Dale died move on and leave them behind NASCAR is better without them and I think that’s exactly what Nascar is doing if an elimination style tournament bracket is going to upset you to the point where you don’t want to watch anymore then honestly were you really a fan to begin with I mean seriously like I said earlier there are plenty of things that are worth complaining about when it comes to NASCAR from the point system to the current NextGen car basically killing the racing on all short tracks but a midseason tournament bracket is where you draw the line now come on oh and one more piece of news we need to discuss this will only take a moment Amazon Prime is going to be broadcasting the 2025 Coca-Cola 600 now for those saying oh this is a crown jewel race why would they do that well Amazon Prime has 200 million subscribers while people are cutting cable like crazy and while it will affect ratings in the short shortterm longterm I think this is an awesome move we’ve been telling NASCAR hey you need to get with the times like other sports have been doing get on the streaming platform but of course a lot of the fan base is going to be extremely negative like this guy this race quickly became one of my favorites of the year and you go lock it up behind a streaming pay wall hope the viewership sucks and makes you guys second guess this horrible decision I just showed y’all the numbers that more people subscribing to Amazon Prime than cable this is simply a business decision it is what it is in conclusion some NASCAR fans make absolutely no sense do you want the sport to succeed or fail at this point these moves aren’t hurting the sport long term they’re not hurting anything at all what is going to hurt is if NASCAR doesn’t get its crap together with the short track package as well as certain aspects of the next gen car anyways leave a comment down below hello do you agree with me do you think I stepped over the line and if you think I did step over the line with the title and video let me ask you this do you all ever have a problem with me calling out Formula 1 fans in some of my videos saying how stupid and obnoxious they can be sometimes when it comes to talking about NASCAR as well as the Formula 1 elitism that is so toxic we’re going to keep it fair on this channel and quite frankly some NASCAR fans simply need to calm the [ __ ] down I didn’t hold back in this video and I don’t expect y’all to hold back in the comments below and once again that’ll do it for another video thank you guys so much for watching this is black flags matter catch you next [Music] time y

  1. Summer shootout is gonna be awesome to see. I'm curious if team orders are gonna kick in during the layer rounds to help a guy advance and if they will fight in the pits after. I'm intrigued!!

  2. Honestly anytime a network or sponsor can add value to the sport. I see it as a win. The teams are already not profitable; to help them and the sport grow, I welcome more of these things. I'm all for change if it does nothing but good things for NASCAR. Crying and whining does no good, for instance, even though I hate the current playoff format, I'm still a fan, and I'll still watch the playoffs. If we give it a chance before shooting it down, we might be grateful we kept an open mind. If viewership skyrocket's, that's a definite win for all of us. This could very well bring some very notable sponsors back to the sport that we absolutely need.

  3. Nascar could get rid of stage racing, go back to old Winston Cup points format, 900 plus HP and STILL complain.

  4. I wonder if the Nascar on Amazon people realize that most other series use internet. Nascar is the only series that shows post race on tv. (Indy Car has 2 racez air exclusively on Peacock, F1 post race coverage is on an app, Nascars foreign series broadcast on internet, other than Daytona, ARCA broadcasts races on a website along with nascars feeder series, and other world racing series.

  5. As a dirt late model guy, it gives me Summer Nationals vibes. A mid summer championship inside a championship. And if you're not familiar, drivers and fans LOVE Summer Nationals!

  6. As a fan of both NASCAR and F1, I agree pretty much 100% with both your opinions on these matters. When I first heard of this new idea, my initial reaction was, "Oh, cool. Let's see how this goes." That still stands. As a UK fan the whole streaming vs cable thing is a moot point, as I have to pay for a separate channel entirely via my satellite provider, but it will be interesting to see how it pans out.

  7. Darian, I think it's ironic that Denny's idea is being used during the TNT broadcasts, while Dale Jr. owner of Dirty Mo Media, is going to be in the booth. 🤔 Anyway, loved Denny's Bracket Challenge last year and will doing again this year.

  8. considering the indy 500 is on free tv on the same day as the 600, it doesnt make sense to go to a streaming service. no matter, i will enjoy on the radio for 5 races. Why do we have to keep trying things that stick and ball sports do

  9. I'm not sure its the fans and maybe just the ten or so YouTube creators that always hype up some non factor. One of you put out a video on the historical insignificance of the hail melon…2 years after the hail melon. Not insignificant enough for a story 2 years later. No one in the mass population cares and we just want to see good competitive racing.

  10. We can revert back to old ideas and fans would complain, we can have new ideas that could work and fans would complain, if one thing is consistent in nascar it’s the fans complaining about something. Back in the 90s and early 00s Winston had the No Bull promotion where drivers could compete for a million dollars and no one paid attention to it but they noted it was there, made for a good story when a driver earned a bonus. This is basically the same thing, except in a bracket form. Goofy? Maybe a little. Is there something wrong with a new/returning TV broadcast partner doing a special promotion during their run time to get more eyes on the sport and give the drivers a little bonus to run for during their broadcasts? I personally don’t have a problem with that 🤷🏼‍♂️

  11. What pile of disrespectful shit thought it was tolerable to put the Castrol jgtc livery on a FUCKING NASCAR. That’s disgraceful asf.

  12. NASCAR is a complete joke. I don’t even watch it anymore. The gimmicks have poisoned it to a point where nascar will die out in a few years. The France family along with other higher ups are at this rate drunk on power. Btw most of these gimmicks no one ask for.

The in season tournament is a waste of time

  13. The no bull deal was the top 5 drivers from the previous no bull race and if one of them win they get it. I just don’t like the gimmicks, sorry

  14. At first I was not down with it but if it’s not going to change the races themselves and it’s like a side thing then hey screw it

Kinda reminds me of the nascar games where you had to beat your rival

  15. This is not the "No Bull" model. That is more akin to the "Dash-4-Cash" that the Xfinity series has now, however the No-Bull would only pay out the $1M if the driver Won the race. This is just another stupid ploy to keep tik-tok viewers entertained during these races. Also, anyone else wanna call it now and say that in the "championship round" one of the drivers takes out the other one to win the cash????

  16. Im gonna tell yall this, when it fails dont come crying to the fans who actually see this as a bullshit marketing strategy. I already know Denny is gonna blast it when he loses it. Thanks NBA

  17. I love this idea. I think it can make the racing better. A lot of people I’ve seen complain about this having effect on the points.

Well, it can be optional, can’t it be. If you don’t want to race the guy you’re up against for fear of making a mistake and losing valuable points, then race for the points, not the money

If you are in that position, and race for the money, then points are the risk you take. My only issue with it is how will the broadcast be able to focus on the battles

  18. Nascar fans will never be satisfied no matter what the sport does or doesn't do. Easy to say change this or change that like the playoffs for example when we all know fans are gonna be up in arms no matter what happens. Between F1 fans and Nascar fans I swear idk who's worse.

  19. I think the mid-season tournament would get better reception if we didn't have the current points system. I find it weird and wrong that a gut who won 2 stages but not the race ends up with more points than the winner of the race. And the way the championship is decided in playoffs is hard to understand for people trying to get into the sport. Then the issue of no horsepower in the cars which make passing hard, the mid-season tournament announcement led to frustration. I think that's what most of the complaining is coming from

  20. Fans: “We want more road courses to the schedule!”

    NASCAR: adds more road courses

Fans: “reeeeeeeeeee there’s too many road courses!

Fans: “I want closer racing and smaller teams to run up front.”

NASCAR: brings in a spec car to develop closer racing and help smaller teams race up front

Fans: “reeeeeee let teams build their own cars!”

    Fans: “we need more OEMS.”

NASCAR: In talks with more OEMs

Fans: “reeeeeee not that one!” Or “reeeeeee they wanna take muh V8 away for dem woke electric shiz!”

Especially the OEM part. Was listening to Dale Jr. talk to Elton Sawyer and ALL the comments were just an angry mob that would like nothing but anything bad to happen to the guy. One comment was like “Sawyer should be arrested for killing stock car racing!” Like wut!? And then of course ya got the typical “NASCAR died when Dale died!” And “I’m done if NASCAR goes electric!” Like bruh then why r u here!? Like Sawyer was talking about how they’re looking if it’s possible running different engine types and then try to balance em. Like hell yeah, that’d be something cool to see. NASCAR needs to move away from the old cast iron block push rod V8 that no manufacturer uses slightly outside of pickups and American muscle cars. Plus it’s not like there won’t be engines that have the same growl as a NASCAR pushrod V8. Look at the Cadillac in IMSA and WEC, which btw is hybrid too.
