but let’s get into it shall we in regards to David F uh okay so he signed with a club uh last Thursday apparently um after opting to not take up his contract with the Titans his option now it says signed I’m not sure whether he actually signed I think he agreed potentially to terms yes uh now you probably know a bit more about this than me smiy but it’s my understanding that even if he signed you have a calling off period um I’m not sure what the period is in my 10 days or something along those lines but anyway he agreed to terms and then at 7:35 this morning the Titans can confirm that David feed will remain at the club Beyond 2024 and have approved his request to activate his player option for the next two seasons at 7:40 so five minutes later The Roosters said they had withdrawn their offer to Faida despite his management making the initial approach to the club and Faida personally informing that Sydney Rooster’s chairman and head coach of his intent to join the club last Thursday Faida has since expressed doubt about his decision now um politus has also been quoted saying that you know he had basically agreed to terms and it’s um quite confusing to him apologies I’ll just get the quot up right now he approached us it’s hard to understand that is what pitus has told the telegraph um on top of that I think it was last night that FFA may have called politus and to tell him that he was going to stay the Titans uh mate speak to me Smithy what is going going on mate no idea well we spoke about this um last week camp and you know I was I mentioned how I was confused that FAA actually even considering leaving giving he just resigned only what six months prior with that coach Clause that that he and big Tino had in their um initial contracts around uh Justin H Brook and whether he was going to be the coach moving forward they each had a had a clause there where they could get out of their Titans contract and move on but they both chose to stay and I believe they were both upgraded and extended um and and it was only just recently that that happened um sort of halfway through last year so you know that’s I was bit confused of him you know deciding to move on like now um which was last week right the deadline was last Thursday but to now learn that he’s back flipped again it’s just I don’t know what’s going on I just I I don’t know you know and it’s hard to comment right and unless unless Dave fed actually comes out and and sits down and says look guys honestly this is this is what’s happened right I just you know um this reason this reason this reason as to why I thought the best thing for myself was to to leave the Titans but then you know I have seen a quote from him saying you know like upon reflection moving on like that he’s he feels as though that the club is is heading in the right direction and that’s that’s why he wants to stay like that was that just cuz of the one win on the weekend you know the only thing that but can’t be like that’s the only thing that’s changed yeah in the space of what four days so we had to make the decision on Thursday so we had Friday Saturday Sunday Monday Tuesday or sorry six days so six days from when he made the decision that no no the Titans aren’t the AR the team for me I’m going to go to Sydney um it’s going to be the roosters moving forward and then six days later he’s says oh no actually upon reflection go Coast is the best place for me I see a great future here it’s just a it’s a really weird one um but you know the the only person that knows is Dave AA so we can speculate and we can toss up you know sort of reasons as to why we believe it he’s he’s made that decision um but the only person we’re going to find out from is Dave yeah I mean what’s crazy is lost in all of this noise is penrith Panthers who I you know I have been I’d heard Whispers that they were actually quite confident that he was going to go there so even even when he you know reportedly had agree to the roosters I’m hearing that the pends were quite like shocked by that thinking that they had their man and you know he was quite um a keen to get there so it is quite a bizarre situation uh I do think you know I understand the frustrations from the rooster side for sure like I you’d be super frustrated you know we’re going to get to the Angus kryon situation cuz you know you’ve put his nose out of joint now as well which is not good for the for the um roosters but I will say it is real like there is a genuine possibility that he said yes and then he just went to bed that night and then over the weekend it just didn’t sit right like he just kept thinking about it and he just was like you know what this doesn’t feel like the right decision and I think we’d all be kidding ourselves if there haven’t been periods in our lives where we’ve agreed to certain things and then going oh man I don’t know if I should have you know agreed to this or agreed to that M um so I think the fact that like okay yeah roosters fan you can be frustrated because your word your word and and all of that I understand that you know I totally get that but I don’t think it’s so unreasonable to assume that he just he just sat on over the weekend and thought you know what I just don’t want to leave my family like I don’t want to leave Queensland I’m close to every I’ve got a really tight base here um I’m on a good Wicket life is pretty good uh I will say you you could speculate and say you know even though I’m sure he wants to build into a Premiership at the Titans maybe it’s a bit less of a priority than maybe we thought a week ago yeah um because you know the roosters are obviously substantially closer to a you know Premiership than the Titans again that’s pure speculation yeah um yeah I’ve I um yeah look I’m not I’m not denying you know the opportunity that that Dave has to to change his mind um I think Everyone’s entitled to that particularly when you have legally a cooling off period to to make that um change of of your initial decision there’s there’s no dramas for me there you know Everyone’s entitled to that but I think it’s just strange because you know he’s come out and said that um you know he feels as though that the the club’s heading in the right direction um gives him an opportunity now to to be close uh closer to his family and his home and his family you have played a uh uh integral part into this decision now to stay at the Titans I would have thought that that would have been your first thing you thought about initially absolutely so when that you know what I mean this is the confusing and and the really strange part about this whole backflip and this this whole scenario with Dave for feda when when this deadline was put upon him in this round 10 um sort of deadline where he had to make a decision whether he was going to take up um the claws to get out or or just stay on through my experiences as a footy player when it come to signing contracts I you know that they were the first people that uh you sat down and spoke with was your family yeah so if what was the initial discussions you know what I mean like I’m just trying to break this down and work out exactly how this all sort of came about in the original decision to go to the like agree with the roosters or sign with the roosters whatever he did what what were the discussions with his family then yeah and then six days later they change and then he comes out and says like that’s that’s the reason why I have changes to be closer to home and and around my family which is that’s great and that and that’s fair enough and and if that’s his decision then that’s his decision that’s that’s his right to do so but what what was what was behind the initial decision to you know agree to terms with the roosters it’s all really strange for me but the way it’s gone there but you know great for the Titans like great for the Titans now that they’ve got their man locked in for another couple of years he played a great game of footy on the weekend I to help them get a victory against the Cowboys and now hopefully he can just concentrate on playing some good footy oh you know it really is two options in my opinion you know that one option is something changed over the weekend you know something new came up that you know was Private to OB was feda yeah or the other option is is this is a massive learning curve for Fida about thought processes around contracts and you know making sure that when you do have these very serious conversations with some very serious people in politus that you’re very measured with exactly how you feel rather than you know going yeah I think like I want to go okay I agree to it you know what I’m saying I think that it’s going to be you’ll learn a lot from it yeah and if you went down and met with you know those guys like they’re they’re very successful people right and and maybe Dave was just a little bit intimidated by the whole situation and just thought oh look this all sounds great what I’m hearing and um you know I don’t really feel as though I don’t feel comfortable saying no to these people yeah if if you understand what I’m saying oh absolutely you know like I just maybe maybe he felt um like he had to say yes U and then you know upon reflection as he said over those those recent days he’s come home and just thought oh look actually I don’t feel overly comfortable moving away from my family and my my home of Queensland um this is where I want to be so that’s that’s the reason behind it but but at the end of the day like it’s the only the only person that knows exactly what going on is Dave and and those close to him and and whether he wants to reveal that to us or the public or whatever that that’s entirely up to him if he doesn’t want to then he doesn’t want to it’s just it’s it’s a bit of news for us at the moment and um you know business as usual for the Titans and and Dave for fed now for the next couple of years all righty went ah head to a break Angus kryon will end up now Angus Trent Robinson on Monday uh he was quoted saying I’m not naive to think that it doesn’t that’s the hard thing when you’re in a club and you walk in every day it’s a balanced players you have and then trying to get some guys that you think can change the way you play the door isn’t closed on kryon he’s in the best form that he’s been in in years he’s an Australian player he’s fighting for a backr spot in origin so it’s not the end of the road yet there hasn’t been any negotiations or anything but some discussions then kryon told reporters on Monday it does make you question where their heads at no one’s talked to me which is funny last I heard they were Keen to resign me but then obviously for feeda news came out it’s an interesting one and something will have to monitor no one’s talked to me and I’m not sure if they will oh wow yikes yeah it’s um SMY yeah well when your players are feeling sort of isolated like that and sort of just just kept in the dark over their future I think that’s you’re sort of sitting there thinking well is this the place for me that that’s that’s that’s the first thing that comes to my mind um is that you know does this club really sort of want my services moving forward and and I think it hurts the ego a little bit that you know for for Angus kryon to have you know David for feeder pursued by the footy Club who plays in the same position as he does so you’re probably thinking to yourself already well that’s a clear sign that I’m not high on their priority you know to either you know retain my services or even think that I’m the best option moving forward for um for them in the back row so you know I think right now this is it puts him now in in a really strong position doesn’t it moving forward I think you know as far as negotiations go with the roosters this now that Dave F’s decided that he’s going to stay at the Titans and and as much as you know he may be a little bit upset I think you just got to put your emotions aside right now if your Angus kryon and and go right now this is business um you know I’m sure you know Trent Robinson is has conceded in in those comments you just read out can’t be that you know Angus is playing some of the the best football he has played in in several years and I and I agree with that like he’s playing outstanding along with the rest of his team like they they’ve hit a bit of a purple patch over the last three or four weeks but um certainly Angus kryon has been one of their better players and M that form is is got him pushing for a new sou Wales Jersey you know getting back into that that representative scene that he that he was in a couple years ago so um I think I think he’s in a strong position as far as his negotiating goes with any Club right now not just the roosters I tell you what you know Angus kryon three months ago it was almost like no Club was kind of interested you know it was it was Rugby Union now take a pick tell me the amount of NRL clubs that would love to have Angus kryon on the edge there you know you got the Bulldogs You Got parah U you know there there are so many clubs that could use a guy like Angus kryon on their Edge um you’ve got hen that were interested in feda so you’ll assume they might be interested in kryon mhm it it is a it’s a tough one because you from Angus perspective you go the last few years you know anyone that’s followed his kind of last trajectory every single year at least on my podcast we’ve been like is angress even resigned for next year like he’s one of the best players in the comp and he’s not resigned yeah and so usually he has quite a good relationship with the roosters where they they wait till quite late to resign him like he has been on the table to be negotiated with for for many years um so he’s had quite a good relationship with them and also trusted them yeah now on the flip side The Roosters were very patient and very helpful during kon’s tough time as well y last year you know last year so both parties have kind of you know they they’ve been good to each other but I guess from like crter uh kryon Sorry’s position it it would be hard to stomach that negotiation now you know like that first phone call that you get of if the roers are Keen to keep him of oh mate we’d love to keep you and here’s this big offer yeah there would be a sense of like well you didn’t want me a week ago like no that’s right I’m just I’m just the the backup guy yeah um when I feel like I’m playing really good footy and then there’s obviously Sati tupo as well that I’m sure he’s probably more likely to stay because he’s not on a bigger contract and he’s been injured a little bit I do think it opens up quite a lot in regards to what Kon can do and it drives his value up I think a lot as well because before this happened I think a lot of people just probably steered clear of kryon because they were like oh he’s always going to stay with the roosters because they’ve got such a good relationship yeah whereas I’m sure there’s a few clubs you know inquiring now going look is it a real possibility that you’d be willing to leave and not go to Union now oh M I think um he’s in a great position particularly with the footy that he’s playing I think that’s just um it’s given him a great opportunity to to sort of have a look at the opportunity opportunities out there and I think you know there’ll be plenty of teams knocking on the door there’s there’s no doubt about that you know given given what he’s displaying at the moment for the roosters and everyone knows his ability um over the long period of time I know he had a you know a few issues last year they had to deal with and and his Club did stand by him so I’m sure he’s aware of that but it hurts mate like it hurts as a as a player to be sort of put on the on the back burner a little bit and kept in the dark around sort of what your future looks like at your current Club um and and they they to pursue someone else in front of you so that they’re putting they’re putting you know preference to someone else instead of you in the same position so you got to you when you leave training and you go home and you’re sort of sitting there thinking to yourself you’re thinking well look this my future really sit at this club or you know do I need to start looking elsewhere because you know you know 24 hours ago I wasn’t really the man that they wanted there was someone else that they wanted in front of me so um you know I think you know you mentioned penrith um you know they were on the hunt as we all know for Dave for feda they missed out on him so maybe kryon will be pursued by them now um I think param matam might might be interested we had one um one of our listeners text in and say we’ll take Angus at Power in a heartbeat so you know and they’re not the only club either mate you know like there’d be clubs out there that are that are looking for you know guys that of his quality first and foremost and secondly like he bring brings a lot of experience as well in that position and he’s played at the highest level he’s played in big matches there’s a lot of upside to Angus kryon mate what’s when you okay take away all the noise like take away all the noise take away the name Angus Ken and just look at the form he’s playing what’s crazy is we see bloke signing contracts like two years out he doesn’t have a contract for next year yeah like that’s the reality situation we’ve got a guy that’s most likely going to be playing for New South Wales an Australian representative um that doesn’t have a contract for next year like that’s it is crazy that he hasn’t snapped been snapped up yet and I understand that his form has like built into this this year yeah but I guess that just shows you the unique situation we kind of find ourselves in that a representative player that’s arguably the best in his position in the game and arguably one of the best players form wise in the game yeah um I personally if I was a betting man if I was a betting man I think that the the fact that the the roosters really did stick by last year um through some really tough times and were really good with his family I think that’s enough you know um and they wouldn’t have done it for this reason but currency of loyalty of like may like when it got tough we were there for you yeah K maybe we bungled this a little bit we should communicated better but our actions have spoken over the last few years for you yeah um yeah I don’t see him moving my my personal view is I don’t see him moving to another club either I just I know I just at this stage of his career and particularly you know what happened last year and the way the club sort of stood stood by him and helped him through that bit of process to get back to um good health and playing football again I think that I think he’ll repay them um for you know the way they um sort of helped him through that period of time and you know he’s just he’s done some great things at that footy Club you know and I think he’ll want to continue that on now um maybe maybe it it changes from a 12mon deal campy that he’s done over the last few years to now try to secure maybe something a little bit longer to try and um gain that bit more of uh Security in the back back end of his career yeah oh yeah I I think he’ll stay and also they are like I know it’s only been a few weeks but they are red hot like absolutely red hot if they keep this form up they absolutely can win the comp this year yeah um now we’re going to head to a break

  1. I think David sat down on the weekend and ran through some figures. $825k/yr, minus tax, agent's fee, Sydney rental in the Eastern suburbs, power bills, food. Practically leaves him spare change.😅

  2. Tupouniua was asked last week to look for another club. See you later c;)$s I'm off to Penrith too. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

  3. Why would you want to give up the gold coast lifestyle and million a year for less money and the Sydney rat race

  4. Love the video boys. Keep it up. Would rather listen to you guys than journalists or YouTubers who never played the game. Keep it up please brother! Usos. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🙏🏽❤️🤟🏽☝🏽🫡✊🏽👊🏽🤜🏽

  5. Cam has obviously not been in a perpetually losing club side, so his “expert” opinion doesn’t help in this situation.

  6. Lol you all acting like Crighton and Tupouniua didn't know the Roosters were like this before signing on. Everyone is expendable.

  7. Yeah it was a bit of dog act really , Crichton has been good for the Chooks and to do that to him is a bit ordinary.
Loyalty goes out the window when Greed takes over …
    Simple !

  8. Crichton needs to remember the chooks stood by him during his tough times, plus his form is picking up now he's coming off contract, funny that hmm.

  9. Buyers remorse. But as Gus said the Roosters probably dodged a bullet. It's easier to be big fish in a small pond. If he is so easily swayed he probably doesn't really have the mental determination to win a premiership

  10. It's not ideal for the Titans now they are overpaying Fifita again when they need a half, we Roosters also need a half so i wonder if we'll have a race for the same half going forward
