meantime we need to talk about what just happened with the one of our colleagues we don’t have to talk about it oh you know we’re going to though okay uh but hey Auburn and Yale Auburn uh listen I got to give Yale credit you know they came back we had a 10-point lead as you see with seven minutes to go we got a six-point lead with four minutes to go but these guys made some tough shots tough shot that’s pulus there and he’s been doing that all season long going to knock down another one here he gets some space this is a tough shot but he likes that shot left-handed shooter going to his right and then miss free throws good work on the glass Janai Brun this is the last ditch effort for the Tigers and they had chances Chuck they had some chances down the stretch after blowing that 10-point lead yeah you know Clark they had plenty of chances they did not play well but Yale played better they deserved to win the game My Tigers man we had a this kind of ruins a really good season winning the SEC tournament to lose in the first round very disappoined and frustrating but listen shout out to Yale the Bulldogs never thought a bulldog would be the Tiger but they did congratulations to Yale and man it’s going to be a long trip from Spokane Washington back to the plains I know that one stings For You Chuck I mean truly I mean we’re all we’re all buddies here and we know how how you bleed that blue and orange of Auburn it is when you a high seed and you expect and then you you don’t play well that’s the thing about this tournament that never disappoints same thing with Florida you know uh you know with Colorado when man nothing matters when this tournament starts no matter we would just think about this less than four or five days ago we were holding the SEC Championship on top of the world and all that hard work is over that’s the painful thing about sports and the great thing about sports like you lift you do all that running during the summer you lifting all those weights and it’s a long season and then all comes down to Mars Madness you get a great seed and it’s over that quickly but I’m going to give Yale credit yeah and as I pointed out on CBS I think we were around CBS just like two minutes ago so in a five minute span yeah you saw the two teams that battled it out for the SEC Championship Auburn and Florida both get knocked out uh in their openers uh here during the madness meantime u a look inside the Yale locker room I’ll tell you what James Jones 25 years the head coach there he’s won a tournament game at Yale back in 2012 they knocked off Baylor and um he’s been phenomenal and I’ll be interested to see if in fact he’s got an opportunity elsewhere in terms of some of the coaching 25 years at the same place he’s done a heck of a job there high quality coach and and um leader of young men meantime um you know we saw Chuck’s reaction to to what happened and you’ve been kind of you’ve been needling our our buddy during here but here was here’s like is this when you were the homecoming King yeah I was the homecoming King then the summer school then when I went there I was studying uh flag waving I was studying Banner waving I was studying Finance at no you know I you know obviously you know he gives me a hard time Carolina Tom ISO I need you desperately coach ISO please bring me home tomorrow exactly but if we if we talk on a basketball because that’s all about fun in games but on a basketball term the next time anyone next team that plays Yale whomever that might be there’s a difference I thought that it’s gonna be San Diego State San Diego State there’s a difference where I thought that Auburn didn’t take advantage of what they have in terms of I I thought Yale was able to bring the ball up from free throw line to half court without making a decision when you when you have the athletes or you have the to players I want to make you make decisions all through the court and from once they got the rebound and brought it up the pressure didn’t start until half court and I I thought that was probably the Mis you a great point but I think Auburn got in foul trouble early in both halves and then they lost Baker yeah but I but I think they got in trouble in the in because Yale was in the bonus pretty early both pass I think they took it I think they backed off of it a little bit but that that helped I thought that no clearly I understand the point you’re when I look back at this game number one I’m going to give Y credit but what really bothered me about Auburn they were they they picked up the pace defensively but we started being passive we started using the shot clock I’m like yo you don’t start milking the clock with 10 12 minutes to go you run your offense we’ve seen that three times well you know some of that too Chuck I think is this tournament the magnitude of it is one and done sometimes we see teams play out of character and it’s it’s almost like the harder you try sometimes the worse it gets so the key one of the keys what did you say what did you say we always lose being aggressive no that that would be my posture that would be my posture run through the Finish Line to play aggressively but this is going to be part of the challenge for Purdue to play with a freedom and a confidence and a going after something as opposed to holding on and trying to protect something that’s the psychological barrier I think is more important than the physical component when you look at being a heavy favorite expected to win listen that’s the thing I love about Connecticut today like no man we G to beat y’all by more we’re not like yeah we got a 20 point they had a 20 something point lead at half time no we took it to 40 we took it to 30 Auburn got so passive like I said we saw that three times Auburn was to 13 we saw it two of the times yesterday guys always be aggressive it’s like it’s not your job to worry about the other team’s feelings and and to quote the Great Clark Kellogg as we watched that game and you said you know it looks like Auburn’s taking their foot off the gas and that’s a tough way to drive as as you said and it is it is it it the other it’s a two-sided coin here okay one is you’ve got to have the material and the and the and the um and the Personnel to be able to step on somebody and you should be able to when you’re onec or 2C but sometimes that’s not the case the other part of it is psychologically you have to be able to bring that best effort and focus and sharpness and sometimes in this setting it doesn’t happen for whatever reason but it’s mindset and material it’s not just one or the other you got to have both and Yukon has both let’s take a look at the East bracket as as we talk here and see how this looks compared to the bracket you’re holding in front of you there at home or in the Wherever You Are um so uh Yale knocking off Auburn advancing to meet San Diego State in the 13 I think I think myself and the Yale parents are the only people who have that bracket correct well well well we knew going in uh as much as I love Auburn I only had them going to the Sweet 16 you come the elephant in the room it’s going to take something SP tacular as you saw today yeah you going to have to play extraordinary you ain’t going to have to play a good game you going to have to play well cuz they play at full speed all the time but listen I you got Jack Nicholas somebody I really admire he always said people guys you know obviously I know a lot of the golf guys I said what do you like about Jack nichod this is he’s the best loser ever what does that mean like it’s you have to be a gracious loser a gracious loser he says he says he was always a gracious loser and I always when I talk to the old golfing guys admire him when I talk to Mr player and people like he says Jack L is the great he says he was a gracious loser and today listen I’m just going to congratulate my year friends y’all with a better team today and you got to be a gracious loser way to take the high road I like that chuckster uh let’s stay yeah thanks coach I need you tomorrow let’s stay in the east 9

  1. This is the result of 1 and done. Those teams nobody cares about sticks together and bonds for 3& 4 years and then makes a run and wins it all. 1&done,is done and they are not coming back.😊😅😮

  2. Tennessee was the best team in the SEC. Very physical team. Same for Illinois. If the refs let teams play Houston, Tennessee, Iowa St and Illinois will be tough to beat.

  3. 2:30 mark— that Yale fraternity energy. Those nasty boys scared many of us watching on live TV when they almost …🤮… Never mind.

  4. Insanely overrated SEC. Stole bids from way more worthy ACC and Big East teams. Tired of having the SEC shoved down everyone’s throat.

  5. Come on ! Yale lost to Weber State who lost to 14-20 Idaho State Yale lost to 12-20 Rhode Island Gonzaga beat Yale by 15 Up 21 points with 5 minutes left Blowout Aztecs beat Zags by 10 on Zags own court THIS SPOKANE court Aztecs beat Big Dance teams UC Irvine (NIT) Long Beach State Gonzaga St Marys(by 25!!! On Neutral Vegas court) Utah State(twice) New Mexico Colorado State Nevada Aztecs worst loss was at current active NIT  team 20-12 UNLV who they beat at Viejas Arena
Kawhi Leonard who doesn't toot his horn works out with THIS Aztec teams players in the SDSU Jam Center in the off season Do you think he can teach DEFENSE!!

  6. Bro, if that dude who fell down and flopped, jumped up like that big St Johns player, they could have had an easy alley oop or pass instead of that terrible 3 they bricked at the end… wtf

  7. Auburn had a rough weekend-–they have been really high on themselves, and Bruce Pearl was getting to be his obnoxious self lately you could see it in his interviews and demeanor….he was cockier than ever…..Auburn fans have to be suffering badly especially with big brother, Bammer, enjoying the advancing to sweet 1 while AU stays home. Tough pill.

  8. Losing to Yale is like losing a football game when all you had to do is make ONE stop with an opponent needing to make a 4th down and 31 yards to go…….and you allow that to happen!! Just when the Plainsmen, War Eagles, errrr Tigers- needed to show the Bama fans who is boss of the courts….they fall flat on their faces….ouch.

  9. When leading clown teams? Cut the conservative shooting out. The team behind is called hustlers meaning shooting to win.

  10. Surprised Shaq didnt come out and roast Chuck 😂😂 unless he's got something brewing for when they're back in studio

  11. Barkley know because when he was at Auburn they made it to the SEC tournament finals (barely loosing to Kentucky), then Richmond managed to knock out him and Chuck Person out in the first round.

  12. This type of upset is not without precedent. I think it was UCLA (defending champion at that time) got ambushed by Princeton some years back.

  13. How many Jalen, jaylen, jaylin Williams hoopers are out here playing college or pro ball 😂

  14. One of the things I like about Sir Charles is that he is gracious loser (and also able to take a joke or multiple jokes and pranks at his expense without getting mad). Quite a contrast with Kenny, whose usual defense is to complain and whine and make up lame excuses, and Shaq, who would either denied that he lost or get mad and storm off (though sometimes that's just him playing that role).
