look at this guy look at this rich man he’s just beaming ear to ear this guy rich I got a little extra pep in a step that’s for [Applause] sure foreplay presented by barcel Sports and Chevy our great friends at Chevrolet Blazer EV huge week major championship week uh really kind of two guys just on a collision course it feels like for the first time in a long time so we’re going to talk about that we got Scotty nobody knows anything about Scotty’s child situation I feel like that child’s been born probably right that’s what I’m saying you feel like the child’s been born nobody knows nobody nobody knows for sure but he seems like a guy who would post three days later like oh the baby’s doing great you know what I mean maybe or a guy who would post three weeks later yeah and it’s like we’re like wow this thing been going on I think he might post it after like the President’s Cup like oh yeah we had by the way we had our kid back in May it was amazing well he’s going to be you know do a press conference tomorrow so’s certainly he’s going to get asked about it I bet the baby I bet you there’s a social media post that comes out tonight I’m not a scientific expert but you can just induce and get this thing out right yeah I mean he’s got a for sure I don’t know I know you can do that but I don’t know what it is I nobody knows less about pregnancies than me I don’t know I don’t know these three guys can’t say we can’t possibly know what’s going on I know that you can induce a birth that’s the thing that people do right you can sort of like isn’t the generally people want the first one to just kind of come as naturally as possible and then eventually they get to the point where they’re like all right let’s kind of pick a time let’s do whatever we are able to do to just control the entire operation and just make it happen but if I were Scotty I would keep under wraps like he is because I mean he is going to get asked about it at the PGA press conference but until people know he can just be like I can’t go to that tournament because the baby’s not here you can just keep it under wraps and Skip tournaments that’s that’s only that’s you projecting that’s you projecting on trying to get out of social plans that’s fair with an that’s F why would Scotty want to avoid golf tournaments I do think Scotty enjoys winning golf tournaments he just wins them all yeah he makes like 4 million every time that’s true that’s a good point he’s a guy who wins them all you should just go to them different than having to show up to like uh beers with g at like yeah true the tavern yeah he would want to he wouldn’t want to skip golf tournaments but it’s I mean it’s crazy we have three guys Rory Brooks and uh Scotty who have all won their last start coming in saw that which yeah I guess I mean it’s not necessarily a two-person Collision Course cuz Brooks is in there as well I saw the top three betting favorites Scotty’s on draft King SPS book Scotty’s plus 400 Rory’s we all right Bush God bless you uh Rory’s plus 750 Brooks is plus 1,200 yeah I’m interested that they have Rory in front of Brooks but Rory’s always has low odds because people like to bet on him but I mean he has one his last two events and he put it into a gear yesterday that kind of reminded us why people care so so much about what this guy says it’s because he’s that [ __ ] good at golf he’s so good if he said all this stuff and he you know had won like three times on tour no one would no one give a [ __ ] but because he’s R maoy and because he can make golf look that easy that’s why people care watching yesterday the coverage for the first hour because they do you know they come on the air at like two or whatever and Rory and Xander didn’t see off to like 245 so you watch all the the groups hit off the first T and it’s a 511 yard r four dog leg right all bunkers up the left you’re watching guys hit pretty decent t- shots 300 yards ended up in the left bunker they’ve got 220 to the flag they’re trying to come out Rory just air mailed all the trees on the right and had a [ __ ] gap wedge in hit it to three feet and made birdie and I was just like that is legitimately a different game that that man was playing on that hole he Quail Hollow fits in perfectly cuz it’s you hit a ton of drivers out there and that’s that’s his biggest weapon I mean he obviously feels super comfortable there but it’s you know it’s fun to watch him like that he it feels like about once a year remember Canada happened a couple years ago where he shoots 61 and blows everybody out he’s got that [ __ ] you gear and I think after the tournament he said some things you know he’s come into Majors recently and been kind of koi about his chances you know I’d like to do this he said to himself or he said I feel like the SARS are rigning I knew people were going to grab that because it was the thing where I was like I can’t believe he said that like you know he’s a big meditation kind of energy guy I wonder if he’s trying to Manifest this one I wonder if he’s trying to come into this with like okay it’s actually happening like I’m winning this major championship you got to try everything at this point he does in the past has done like the a Shucks like ah you know I’ll do my best out there and see what happens just another tournament you know the stars aligning when I heard that I was like that’s interesting made me want to bet on him big [Music] time this episode is presented by our good friends at Chevy with golf season in full swing Chevy wants amazing deals Chevrolet together let’s drive [Music] if it weren’t for one man named Scotty sheff I know Rory I would be so heavily and loudly on the Rory hype train this week I know but I’m concerned man I’m concerned about that Scotty sheffler guy he is just a problem and I can never forget that Rory played in that first two rounds in the masters with Scotty Sheffer and Rory had all this monkey on his back he hasn’t really po posted a good round on Thursday to open the Masters and forever he’s shooting a lot of 73s and 74s he’s missed a couple cuts it’s like he goes out he finally shoots a first round two or three under which felt solid and he was four five back already from Scotty Sheffer who didn’t even feel like he played that well on Thursday and then by the end of it Friday I think he was like 10 back from Scotty or whatever he was Scotty obviously goes on pretty easily wins the Masters where it felt like no one on earth thought he had his aame that entire week so I just can’t help but think think yes Rory goes out he does dust the field he shoots 17 under at Quil Hollow would would Scotty have been 20 under I was thinking about that yesterday would Rory have not been 17 under would he have been 12 under because of these all these factors that go in golf so mental we know all that so that’s just I I keep like Rory’s having this great run he wins the Zurich him and him and the Shane Lowry they’re singing at the Afterparty they’re in New Orleans great he goes out Quail Hollow he’s like oh yeah like I was almost born in charotte they love me here and I just keep thinking like yeah the [ __ ] cuz Lord Voldemort has been like away for 20 years and he’s just going to come back this week like you’re gonna have to deal with that yeah it’s it was life without Scotty for a week I it’s I’m I’m you know this is kind of unprecedented what’s happening with Scotty like the situation it would be like if you know three months into Tiger Woods’s 2000 season he had his first child and and I and while I feel like Tiger has the gear to be like you know [ __ ] these kids I’m going to go practice I I don’t Scotty Scotty is too good of a guy yeah to to to just ignore this like I know because he’s so nice and because he’s talked about how how important this kid is he’s been by his wife side he definitely has been like if the baby’s been born which I think it has been he’s been definitely been with that baby for the last three nights and I just think he’s too nice to be like you know what Night Nurse you handled this like I think he wants to be there and I I just don’t think he’s been preparing the same way not and that’s not I that’s actually a matter of respect I respect how much of a good guy he is yeah but it’s a variable and and there hasn’t been any variables over the last four weeks with Scotty sheffler it’s something we don’t we we don’t how is it going to impact him it could not at all but it could it’s not fair but there’s a lot of pressure on this baby heading into Louisville it’s not fair it’s not fair but people are going to be like if he doesn’t win cuz that’s his expectation now even if he gets second and somebody else wins people are be like it was a baby it was the baby and it’s not fair but that’s just the way that the world works that baby can’t be a crier like like you know the good Lord has to deliver him a very easy baby for the first five days that’s right that if he comes out and like misses the cut everyone’s like that baby’s first accomplishment was it ruined the best golf year ever again not fair but that will be the narrative yeah that’s tough this baby is rooting hard for Daddy this week has to if it’s around I mean it’s around it’s somewhere it just might not be out you know if he’s at the exists right now definitely we just don’t know if it’s been born in what state we don’t know correct are we getting into like a sort of a bab when does when does Life Begin let’s get into it yes I mean they’ve had the baby for nine months if we really get stage are we yes no I mean it’s if he’s I think if he’s on the grounds today you know I haven’t seen anything or or tomorrow I think it’s pretty safe to assume that that that that child’s you know who you know what is on the grounds and who is on the grounds goatee tiger uh I was feeling about as unconfident about tiger after the match performance as I’ve been in a while until I saw goatee tiger I knew you’re going to say that I mean it’s got it’s even got a little salt and pepper going he’s got the gray in there a little and you know he looks distinguished I’ll tell you what I don’t like that he thinks that’s going to make a difference you know what I mean it’s like a playoff perod for him he like because what last time he had this he had it at Valhalla in the past and I just feel like he’s like this is what’s going to get me over the hump it’s not his game is how his leg is he’s not getting better at gol he’s just like I’m going to grow this goatee and I think this is the difference I hope it works but just the fact that he’s even thinking this goatee might give me a little bit of an edge it makes me worried is that relatable too and it doesn’t work it’s like you know what guys if I put my right shoe on first today I might go low out there yeah he was out there on Sunday hitting balls which he’s a stubborn guy I mean you wouldn’t you wouldn’t think that that would be the ideal preparation get off of that wheel dude I’m just saying like like he’s just he’s just playing a lot you know he ran clearly ran out of gas at the Masters 7782 you know maybe maybe just you know Monday afternoon play nine holes on Tuesday nine holes on Wednesday but the guy’s won 15 Majors doing what he does and he’s not about to change it up it’s got to be such a delicate balance I get what you’re saying but you also you got to play Yeah you got to play you got to prepare but then you don’t want to waste all your energy it’s he’s got to be his body the way that it is he must get up at 1:00 a.m. am. and just start figuring out what to do how does this guy sleep what time does he go to bed it’s just a mess I hope he does well the goatee has me a little confused but I’m I’m confused it does have a little confused I can’t believe that he did it you don’t like it no it’s not that I don’t like it I just don’t understand the symbolism behind it cuz he clearly thinks there’s something there and that makes me worried why is why does he clearly think there’s something couldn’t he have just why else would he have that yeah maybe he’s got a maybe he’s got a new woman in his life maybe she lik go but here’s the thing is that the goatee doesn’t come out out of nowhere that is a conscious man looking at himself in the mirror one morning correct shaving or not shaving and then at some point growing a beard to the point where you decide okay I now need to shave off this beard and during that process you decide you know what I’m GNA throw the I’m G to shave everything else but I’m going to throw this goatee in there see what it looks like looked at it and was like oh yeah we got it that’s what we’re going with because it it’s not a scheduled thing it clearly was a conscious decision in the moment of this is what I’m going to try oh that looks great here we are didn’t have it at the Masters do you think it’s going to be there by Thursday when he you think it’s here for the whole week can’t take it off mid tournament I think he I think it stays that be more concerning to you if you took it off mid tournament the goatee thing has me on Red Alert yeah seriously you’re really it’s really B it’s kind of but it’s what rigs is saying it’s up until recently he’s just been like I’m going to have a clean shaven face and nobody talks about it and I think that the goatee we’ve only really seen it in weird offseason times like when he was Mac Daddy Santa I feel like he had it yeah but that that’s Christmas time it’s not golf season this is major championship time you’re right I think he had it in 2014 when he played Valhalla is that what you were saying earlier that is what I was saying yeah and because uh CLA Rogers tweeted that he uh he like almost didn’t even play in that he showed up Wednesday night or Wednesday of tournament week he had just withdrawn the week before from the WGC Bridgestone and I don’t think he played very well that week did did he miss the cut can you I think 2014 I don’t think the other two people on this podcast are concerned enough about the goatee you seem to be understanding RS Danny I don’t think you’re understanding going to I’m not going to label it as concern I’m going to label it as we need to really keep an eye on the situation agreed is what I’m going to say agreed I think there’s more to it than Dan thinks there is to it there’s some sort of teep symbolism here I’ll ask him in the press conference I I that could be my mission now we’re talking I can say now we are talking 2014 missed the cut miss the cut six over that doesn’t happen very often doesn’t miss cuts and major no he doesn’t even after the accident doesn’t really miss cuts and Majors that’s right let’s get some shaving cream on that face yes I’m concerned about the goatee but we don’t have to harp on that but I was thinking a little bit this morning about the Tiger Wood situation and I know you know we’ve had a few of these now over the last several years where tiger comes out uh we get hyped up he doesn’t play particularly well I mean he has flashes but doesn’t post particularly good scores and going into like after the aent all that there’s a whole Narrative of like as long as we just get to see him play again we know him unlikely he’s going to win and all that and I’m officially out on that take when he comes and plays and doesn’t play well it [ __ ] sucks you think it’s worse than him not playing it’s depressing like the whole weekend all Twitter’s depressing right like everyone nobody really knows what to say or how to handle it and I’m out on on thinking that it’s it’s a win that tiger we just get to see him play no I think seeing him play and play shitty is is worse I think than him having just never played again so selfishly as a fan if he continues this pattern where he shows up a couple times a year finishes you know makes the cut maybe but finishes way at the bottom or doesn’t make the cut you want him to hang it up I think I think my long-term remembrance of the Legacy and the man that I watched would be better protected in that situation what if he just played the Masters every year don’t hate that every year every April tiger plays again he spends 11 other months preparing getting ready conditioning getting that leg ready shaving his face and then he shows up to Augusta in April and it’s think about the how much that would rev up golf starting to come around the SE spring starting to come around and oh yeah Tiger’s playing his one Tournament of the year that would be a lot of fun actually especially because you know that there’s Z he says he’s like I’m officially retiring from all other tournaments forever except for the Masters yeah so you know there’s no even chance he’s playing anything else yeah no I mean it’s it’s not it’s not impossible that that you know is the case in a couple years a lot of these guys the last major that they play is the master want to go out with it I think it’s just so interesting that he’s never going to play probably I mean besides his own event another PJ Tour event and he’s like VP of the PJ tour so I guess he’s just moved on in that scenario to being a full-on executive because apart from the majors there’s really not much that’s that’s going to happen he played this year he played what 20 something holes at the Genesis uh he played yeah he played one round in seven holes last year he played the Genesis MH and then did he WD last no he played four rounds four the weekend Saturday he played really well Saturday shot 4 500 yeah that’s those are the only two PJ tour events he’s played in the last what since the accident three years yeah yeah I guess the writing is on the wall if you really look at it I mean you listen we’re not that far off from that that’s right and if you if you listen to the press conferences that he did he said the once a month thing which he clearly meant once the major start he’s going to play once a month for four months and then be done um that had to be what he met I think so and now he could just change that to I’m going to play once a I’m going to play once a month every year in April from beginning of April to the end of yes dude I mean you are right that we’re not that far I mean he’s probably going to at least attempt to play Rivier every year just because it’s his event but like it’s we’re down to it already like it’s already just the majors just cut three out you don’t have to travel to the UK anymore and just go to Augusta every worried about that UK travel man it’s cold over there unpredictable any chance he just skips it I don’t think so I mean I don’t think so this year he seems to be he seems to be really wanting to play it yeah I mean I I didn’t realize Piner I thought oh maybe he skipped the US Open because he hasn’t played the US Open in recent years Piner he he finished second and third he’s got he’s almost won there yeah he’s got a good history things like that that’s the problem with a guy like him where he has such good finishes everywhere you’re like well he plays there he can play a flat walk he missed the cut of alalla in 2014 he won the tournament in 2000 so that’s the thing there’s such a glimmer there’s such a history with the greatest golfer of all time at every tournament that you’re like well he should probably play there I mean you know now be crazy if you skipped that oh [ __ ] you know it’s Summer’s cominging up and it’s it’s time to do Live Events some one thing about buying live events in like December or January you never know if it’s going to be 20° but we’re in the part of the year now where concerts Night concerts outdoors I be a superstar in the game I think he could have a great week this week which would be great for the video um but side gig is back Min W Le this week very excited about it so go check that out um anywhere that our videos get published go check that out and then we’re about to host uh Derby City Duel here which says we love to go to these major championships hosts an event that week we’re doing happy hour that’ll take place afterwards on the midpines patio which is awesome site with heavy apps I’m going to say heavy orves ores even though it’s not on here I’m going to heavy ores ores could you spell ordes right now h o r s there’s a symbol in there that I there’s o e v u s I believe that Trent you want to try you’re an English major H not that that’s that relatable I don’t even want to try I I there’s a there’s a um apostrophe in there yeah and I want to say it’s like H apostrophe o u r v s so I’m seeing two different spellings what one’s h o r s d apostrophe o e u r u v r e and the other one is just h o r d it’s basically same thing without the apostrophe so but there’s like a space was close CL wasn’t far off I think you were the closest yeah I used to call them horse ovaries because that’s what it looked like when I was a kid that’s good man smart phonetically say yeah uh anyways on sale Tuesday May 21st at noon eastern time and the event will be at midpines Tuesday 1:00 p.m. shotgun uh at midpines of US Open week it’s gonna be awesome and then uh we’re going to do a quick pivot and just talk about Alister real quick alist is going to be on the show so oh [ __ ] yeah I’m going to save some of that we’re going to have them on on uh on Zoom later Riverside uh so you’re going to hear from them later but I you know we were talking about this morning yesterday was probably the most attached to any performance in golf maybe outside of the 2019 Masters but even this is more personal that I’ve ever had in my life we all know aliser to a pretty decent level alist is probably my best friend in Scottdale he when I met him I mean he had no path to playing professional so CU I mean I came in kind of late to this party cuz I you know I joined in 20 late 22 y so when did when did you guys meet and when did this whole thing start I want say it was uh it had to have been 20 21 in the you know mid part of the way through the year so you were just playing at Silver Leaf or and what happened was our our buddy uh hanky everybody knows hanky yep hanky cadd at Aaron Hills and then he was cading and Scottdale for a little while now he works uh in the Pro Shop at Pinehurst okay and uh he was catting at s leaf and got to meet Alistar there and we set up a game at Mesa Country Club and Hanky was like I got this guy who thinks he could take us down and wants to have a game like all right great so aliser showed up um I think Haley Ostrom was there as well because he know so that was like our force and whatever alist shot 64 and but was the intro like he’s playing pro he’s trying to I really didn’t know I obviously learned that once on the tea but it’s like just a guy that I’m buddies with that’ll come play well aler shoot 64 cleans us out obviously and and we had a great time and we struck up a friendship at that point and you know I learned a lot more about his life he literally was just catting at Silver Leaf at the time to try to save up money to pay for Q school I think Q school is like two or three grand just to go to Q School it’s several hundred if not without to try to Monday into tournaments which is what he was doing because he didn’t have anywhere to play uh so he was doing that for several months and not really getting anywhere he tried that fall I believe of 2021 to get through for Q School didn’t get through so then all of 2022 he was trying to Monday into events he was up in Canada for a little bit I believe and he really wasn’t he didn’t have anywhere to play and so uh he had a Nike deal at the time that whatever it was a little Nike apparel deal that was ending and so he kind of hit me up I like Anyway barall was sponsoring me I was like you know like we’ve never really done that before I don’t really know what that looks like especially if you don’t have anywhere to play like I got to think if we’re going to get anything out of this whatever I got to figure that out well then going into the fall of 2022 which was when he went to Q school started From First Stage got all the way through and at that point that was when there’s that great clip of second stage of him literally thinking he had missed a birdie putt he like walks over towards the water you can tell he’s like already crying PJ tour put that out and then a bunch of people ended up coming back and he barely gets through and then gets through in final stage that’s like he was that close at that moment to not only not making it through but like that’s a whole another year of this 29 years old like what are you doing missing second stage when you haven’t like had status everywhere is like that’s soul Crush you have got nowhere to go you got nothing at that point and so then he makes it all the way through he gets through in final stage so now he’s got eight guaranteed starts on the corn fairy tour which when we first started a introduce him kind of to our world we went to kind of bar stool and I said hey is there anything we could do we don’t pay him a ton of money we pay him a little bit and we give him obviously merchandise uh and we kind of were like yeah why don’t you rock all of our stuff it’s cool because we can give credibility to like our stuff that we’ve got a guy playing professional golf that wears our gear and and and he’s a great guy it’s a fun story fun thing to follow whatever um at the time Alistar 2 was doing you know it’s it’s expensive to play oh yeah professional golf and so he’s got his mom who was momager would kind of came out with an entire list of like down to the scent of flights hotels you know he pays like a mental coach he’s got his swing coach all of that for the entire year what’s that going to cost and then he would go it’s like 100 grand for the year then he would go around and legit play different rounds of golf with people 100 grand for the year for whole let that say sit in for people 100 Grand aot of just cash that’s that’s post tax income whatever you’ve made you got to just give out $100,000 to just play that that that’s his caddy fee that’s his you know for his couple different coaches he’s got for his access to like a gym right like his access to hit balls somewhere like to be like a functional professional golf yeah and then he’s got to take dozens of flights he’s got to get rental cars he’s got to get hotels he’s got to get food he’s got to get whole thing exactly and it’s down to the scent it was like whatever it was it might have been like 101 $1,782 15 like she legit had it down to the scent and so he then would go around and play rounds with people around Scottsdale networking trying to essentially like come up with that money and a lot of it like different deals where people would be and so I finally said to him look stop doing that you’re not focused on golf at all your whole life is like fundraising Network and fundraising and then you owe these people this stuff right and it’s BS so I just said look here’s the money go play golf and so that kid [ __ ] from that moment there’s this whole email list that is like his mom and I’m sorry like no I mean I didn’t realize it was like you told him like you’re good like I got you being a part of this kid’s life he’s like the best [ __ ] dude ever and everyone that knows him in Scottdale is like that kid could play golf that kid is the nicest guy in the world and whatever and so he was living this shitty life of like trying to impress people trying to like go out and like play awesome golf at like Silver Leaf and then you would text me and be like I didn’t play that well I don’t know if these people are going to pay me whatever and that’s a ton of pressure too cuz like you’re playing with someone with the bottom of money if you shoot 200 they’re going to forget and it’s like such a shitty like life now he’s got this every round is like so fraught and so he’s got this like shitty kind of thing and he’s trying he’s stressing and then he can’t play golf right like even when he would show up at the first couple corn fairy tour events he’s like texting me about like these flights and we had to change this and he’s worried about the prices and he’s worried about trying to get a few bucks from like different equipment sponsors and like all this stuff and So eventually I just said dude you got to stop all this wrote him a check for 50 Grand and just said someday you’re G to probably be able to pay me back if you can’t I really don’t care just go play golf and we’ll figure it all out and the guy made $356,000 yeah and like just seeing him like hug his mom and like have a happy Mother’s Day and like he’s now got a life like that guy’s [ __ ] gonna be able to play golf for years and years he boasted a 64 in the final round of a PJ Tour event like stunning it’s just he legitimately changes life when that butt dropped and he fist bumped like I was just crying my was like oh my God like so what exactly does he get what’s he get with this so he so he finished T2 is one other guys we were talking about this cuz Rigs and I were texting all weekend about you know what does he need to finish and this that and the other and so I started texting my guy at the PGA Tour and I was like so what like what does this mean I know it because it’s a top 10 rule where if you if you finish top 10 in a PJ Tour event you get into another one but it’s based on availability so it might right might not be the next week right like this week obviously he’s not getting into the PJ Championship because he finished top 10 in the Myrtle Beach Classic and then the Schwab is like the the tournament after the PGA is the Charles Schwab uh invitation challenge which is an Invitational uh at Colonial so it’s only 120 players so he’s not going to into that but Canada he’s going to get in it’s 156 players but we were talking about this when he finished I think he was T2 he immediately dropped to T3 and we were kind of thinking because the scores were like you know 15 16 under par you’re thinking guys are going to pass him because they have a couple holes left five holes left but it never it never quite works that way because it’s ass clenching time these guys get nervous every player they’re trying to protect points and it’s just a different mindset and guys just started to go the other way so he finished two t2s so he gets three 50,000 he gets into the Canadian open he gets the FedEx Cup points on what’s called a non-member point list so for all guys who aren’t members of the PGA Tour there’s a non-member points list they’re not official FedEx C points but there is a list of non-member points when you get to a certain threshold When You Reach whatever number of non-member points it is he hasn’t quite reached it there you get conditional status and what that means is basically you can get unlimited sponsors exemptions so you can play as much as you want on the PJ tour you’re no longer bound by the seven sponsors exemptions Max got which for Alistair you know it’s different some guys like that’s huge for them because they’re they just turned Pro from college and they’re going to get these sponsors invites you whether Alistair gets them or not I don’t know but with Canada he now has an opportunity to get more non-member points and if he gets you know a certain threshold of non-member points he could get a PGA Tour card that way if he finished like second in Canada he has 140 FedEx cut points right now he could get another 300 whatever FedEx cut points and then he could get his PJ tour card that way so some guys have gotten their card by they play good they finish top 10 then they finish top 10 again this what will Al tourus did a couple years ago he finished top 10 in the US Open he got into another event he finished top 10 in that event he got into another event he finished like 12th in that and all a sudden he had enough points got it so you can he can get his PGA Tour card if he keeps if he you know he’s he has an opportunity now to keep it rolling basically sure so it’s a it’s a life changer and then also like the cash I mean cash is made 21 I was made he made $21,000 and S starts this year so that’s $3,000 a start before you pay your caddy before you pay for fights before you pay for hotels like he hasn’t made a lot of money this year and that will make him breathe easy for a long time and this CRA I know like we because we typically when we watch professional golf tournaments at the end it’s a lot of like pretty rich guys fighting for more Rich money and it’s not that big of a deal and dude like him going from potentially like we were saying all those guys at the end all within that shot like if finishes t7 versus like he finished T2 with one other guy that was looking like that was the difference between 356 Grand and like 110 Grand which is like so different everything and that’s the last hour of him just sitting in the clubhouse and you’re watching those putts miss those guys at the end missing those putts was like lifechanging for Alister as insane as that is it is one of the best performances from a sponsor invite like a totally unproven sponsor invite in really really long time because I remember Martin leair won on a sponsor invite um a couple years ago he had already won on the PGA tour a couple times Matt wolf won um on a sponsor invite when he was was that the 3M the 3M it was like his third tournament but it was like it was like this kid’s number one college player in the world like Al they took a flyer on Alistair like here’s the guy was 90 something in points on the corn Fury tour and he gets this invite and he finishes [ __ ] second in the tournament D the guy who won Chris gup is a Bonafide Superstar award player like Player of the Year at Oklahoma had no one year on the corner FY tour through no problem like Alistair was beat everybody except for two guys one he lost to and one he tied and they’re all PG they’re all like PGA Tour players and I think out of all of it I think the biggest part is that like his mindset has to knowing he said it afterwards I loved what he said and it’s and it’s something that and again like a big part of the reason there’s a bunch of people that support the [ __ ] out of that kid and biggest biggest reason is because he’s the best dude ever but another part of it is people watch him play and are like I don’t think people are watching this like look at this kid I think he led the field or was was second or something in Strokes off the te he is yeah I’ve yeah unbelievable how good he can be at the game of golf and he clearly has something Dan you and I talked about this last week he’s clearly got something because about big stages that clearly allows him to focus in and tap into his best golf because he what’s that at the Glen club like our event that was his best finish that was his best finish it was the Glen club last year’s best finish on the cor fairy tour and then when he’s gone to C School the final couple stages if you remember Scotty Sheffer himself last Masters was talking about they’re like What’s the most nervous you ever been and he was like trying to close out getting my spot through Q School yeah and he’s like I had this chip on the last hole it’s the most nervous I’ve ever been in the course because you’re playing for your life alist has been in that position two years in a row and played his best golf and gotten through and then at the Glen club which is the B one he plays well and then this you this week on the PGA Tour event it’s like I haven’t he hasn’t played that well in a corn fairy Tour event ever dude he he goes out there and he’s you know I’m like dude on closest to the pin I did how many birdies is alisar going to make on Friday I don’t know how what the number is but I was legitimately nervous doing it because I didn’t want to like put more pressure on him but I like I want him on the graphic because I want people to know that he’s playing was uh six that’s [ __ ] so many birdies a lot of birdies how how many do they make on Thursday Thursday to be like seven or eight dude but so you’re right like when he gets put in these positions and that he plays well that th to have that in your tool belt is enormous dude it is and it’s it’s it makes you it makes you realize that it can be a drag out there week in and week out yeah you know even on the tour even we were talking even at the Myrtle event on Tuesday being out there on site we had a fun group it was Joel um is Brandon woo who’s awesome we had him on the show and we were kind of reminiscing about some of that and aliser and like even even then there’s like there’s no crowds out there it’s hot it’s humid and it’s like these guys have been on the road and it’s like even on a PJ Tour event on a Tuesday it’s like easy for guys to be dragging and I’m just thinking about Alistar being out there in the corn fairy tour in like Knoxville or wherever the [ __ ] they are and you’ve had a couple bad starts in a row and it’s week three and you’re kind of like it’s hard to get up for it there’s no fans and and that sounds ridiculous because you fought your whole life for this opportunity but I can see how that can happen and I can see how he can then Channel all this energy around big events to play his best and and again i’ I follow him every Thursday on corn Fair tour and you I never see him like one off the lead six under here he is in his first PJ Tour event I’m like what the [ __ ] is going on here yeah I mean we’ve talked and this is not you know an original thought but but a lot of professional golf you talk to these guys who have been on tour for a long time they say you know you just you just got to get hot at the right time yeah and he got hot at the best possible time 64 on Sunday he birdied he Bogi for so bogied 14 he birdied 15 he birdied 16 17 he like short sized himself on the par three short right of a bunker pinned back right did you see the shot I only saw it on tour cast I only saw it on tour cast too and I it was our buddy Dan snowy who was out there was like he shortsighted himself he go he goes he must he must have been like a m hit he was updating every shot he goes the only place you can’t miss on stina’s right he missed right we were like oh no and he got up there and he’s like luckily it looks like he missed it so short that he actually kind of has a shot but it’s not easy and then he hit it to like an inch he hit it to like 18 Ines makes that and then he birdied 18 like that that took so much guts and that that birdie was like you said probably worth a couple hundred thousand doar which for a guy who’s not thinking about it you know they’re not that bothered some of these guys playing an opposite field event you know they wish they were playing Quil Hollow for for aliser this was this was everything and for him to deliver like that yeah I can’t even imagine and then you’re right afterwards they asked him you know what did you learn from this week and he said I can do it like I can do it huge and that’s because you’re right I mean he’s played on the corn fairy tour but he’s never he’s never really contended on the cor he and so you’re probably wondering like you know do I have what it takes to compete with the guys who graduated all this stuff like the guy he played with on Sunday Max graser graduated from the corn fairy tour last year and alist dusted him on Sunday and he’s had a better finish now apart from nap and like Ben Cole you know I don’t know that Mo most of the guys who graduated have had a better finish than that so he’s now telling him s like if I can do it on that level it’ll probably translate to the corn fry level so it’s it it was a career changing day and I was nervous after after Saturday shot even par on Saturday we’ve talked about like he’s gotten off to good starts before I was worried he was going to shoot two over and you know if he shoots two over in that round he tumbles to like 40th right right but instead he came through with seven under seven under and it he was in the right spot where it’s like he could go out we talked all this about Saturday with our whole crew that we play with we were all having drinks and you know we spent two hours just being like all right what’s he going to do tomorrow we’re doing the whole thing and we’re like dude I think he’s in the perfect spot we like crowds won’t be swelling yet he kind of gets out in front of the wave of nervin he could post a score and then sure enough that’s like exactly what he did uh and to be able to do it too I don’t think you can you can overstate like the crowds out there were great they they set like a record I think for an opposite field of in or something I saw with the crowds uh so now all of a sudden you’ve never really played in front of many people like ever she that’s just not like corn Fair tour events even the Glen club which I thought we brought a little juice that it’s not like there’s a ton of fans out there now you’re coming down the stretch at the PJ Tour event in Myrtle where like it was lined up the fairways down the last couple holes and for him to just be making birdies under that scenario he can [ __ ] do it so life-changing day um and obviously lifechanging week but like yesterday like you said he goes out and shoots 74 73 like yesterday doesn’t change his life at all it’s a nice you know 20 $30,000 check decent little check but you’re back in the same spot he goes out and shoots 6 four and it legit changes his whole life mytle having a bar stool sponsored guy like take over that tournament he didn’t win it but he got pretty [ __ ] close that’s very Myrtle Beach shout out to those guys that’s incredible like Myrtle is Myrtle has been so good to us over the years and the fact that you know Alistar got into this tournament and then played so well and is the storyline that came out of it obviously got up one and he’s incredible but his future is so bright but having Alistar be the sponsor exemption that finishes T2 at Myrtle perfect yeah if there was one tournament that he could finish T2 the content open is probably the right term perfect know perfect our boy pricey Kevin price I saw he posted an article today being like yes the god up thing’s awesome but the person whose life changed the most probably this week was aliser do KP wasn’t missing that he was all over that chance he was all over that beat um so good stuff from aliser We’re GNA hear from him hopefully later in the show um Paul Springs I don’t sorry I don’t one more thing on aliser what are the he’s I mean he’s people got to be like on his tail a little bit now right like he’s a bar stool guy yeah I think so what do you mean by that SP what do you know he’s wearing you know he’s could not on to bigger and better things but like let’s keep him in our we’re locked up for through the end of the year we got a whole another year and a half I’m just I I we need to get him on that BJ yes we do yeah true true it was wild seeing him next to the FedEx when he was doing the interview so good I know wearing the gear and the best part like that you know we make different stuff that we partner with certain companies like that Polo he was wearing we make in our own like Factory yes that’s like you know and he’s and he’s in the PJ Tour event wearing stuff that we make it’s amazing I was I I just wanted to bring that up just be like you know because he’s a hot commodity right now it’s like comes out of the Canadian open he’s in like Grayson or like oh no what’s also interesting as rigs knows CU I sent him some of these things there have been multiple people who have inquired about a little barcal sponsorship yeah it’s a it’s a it’s a that a couple people want there’s been several on the PJ tour the issue is it it’s truly one guy who I love on the PJ tour there’s and we love both the like there’s two guys really that we’ve talked to about it it’s [ __ ] expensive oh yeah and I really don’t think you get that much out of it like and the reason like we that it make like you know we we pay aler a little bit of money and it’s like what we get out of it I do think is like we want to show that our Golf Apparel is legitimate yes and it’s on a professional athlete who plays golf at a high level and you know you can wear it casually whatever what we don’t want we we don’t need Baro exposure right like there’s software as of service companies like they put their name on somebody’s for they need like exposure we’re not nobody’s looking at aler doy and going huh barol the other way they’re like I know barol and I know alist yeah and and and then they also know like oh [ __ ] that stuff that guy’s wearing is legit let’s go to the shop and buy that stuff is kind of what we’re looking for a little bit and so what gets tricky is like these a lot of these guys oh he has the front of his forehead available like we don’t need what are we going to put like Fourplay podcast.com on it like what are we going to do on there it doesn’t really make any sense well the kind of I I see both sides of it because it could if the guy plays well I mean you get exposure and you then you are able to say like look how cool it is that we sponsor this guy but I know what you’re saying as well where it’s like we don’t need the exposure Bob does they do like caddy Deals they do that yeah CAD deals make probably more sense cuz it’s probably a lot cheaper and you get you still get a lot of the if the guy’s playing well the cat’s on screen a lot right right but it is like the players are like hundreds of thousands of dollars well yeah because also we don’t need them for like and one of the reasons a big reason I get this question a lot you know why does this why does this company that doesn’t even sell products to Consumers why are they advertising on PE like workday like who who sees workday logo on Rory’s bag and is like [ __ ] got to get workday let me start a company and then we’ll go B2B with workday yeah so a lot of it is they use it for corporate days right they use it for like oh they have Rory Moy or they have you know whatever PJ Tour player out at their event like that’s not really our thing yeah so it doesn’t we don’t get a lot of the benefits that would come with it like a normal company that’s fair yeah so yeah I but it is like it is when that when that [ __ ] guy’s up there in the interview room and he’s wearing the stuff that we sell on our site I’m like that’s legit yeah that was awesome that’s so legit that yesterday is kind of what you do it for exactly it’s it’s a huge story and you do it not even thinking that yesterday could happen like no that would that’s like a dream scenario awesome just an awesome day awesome day great work from Alistair um yeah he just hey he played he played unbelievably well uh which was sick we’re in Louisville Kentucky right now yes we are Louisville is known for a few things bourbon yep and horses yeah my whole the art in my hotel is all horse racing that’s what I would expect to see all of it I Fel I very much felt like I was in Barcelo classic I flew in at night and I had no preconceived notions about what it was going to look like I just know it’s in the state of California so do going be like San Diego or LA it’s not it’s the desert it’s the desert and California like my biggest gripe with a place like Scottdale and Phoenix from myself personally is I just don’t like the desert and Palm Spring sprs is like a little bit of both and I get why people love it out there it was a it was a nice Palm Springs weekend like you know it sometimes it can be like unbearably hot or but that was a really good one yeah I had a great time played in the classic on Friday missed it by one which might not have been the worst outcome no I didn’t want to have that conversation with you we weren’t going to let you go that’s that’s kind of what I was thinking you were going to withdraw I was going to I was talking to with draw I was talking to Allan my my partner and he’s like yeah you want to get make it I’m like you know I’m not really sure that if we do that like I don’t think it’s maybe we could sub you in or something but no I had a good time it was super fun event the golf course was awesome the backdrops of of those mountains were really something special it’s stunning yeah I woke I felt like I was saying this to people I feel like I woke up on a different planet yeah it’s really aw because I came from whatever New York again flew in at night and I just figured I was going to wake up and like see palm trees and I did see palm trees but I also saw huge mountains yeah I think east coast and Midwestern folks we don’t really know much about Palm Springs yeah it doesn’t keep like a very big profile no it doesn’t really pop up on a radar because I I understand now that I’ve moved out people are very into Palm Springs people from Phoenix go there a lot it’s kind of part of like the ethos of like where it’s part of the vacation rotation for a lot of people out there and the rest part of the country you’re like I I’ve heard of it I don’t know is that like part of La what is it yeah there’s like aund something golf courses in that like County it’s it’s a you get there the mountain more they’re just bigger there they’re like right there on top of you yeah where we stay did you guys stay at linaa yeah I mean the grounds of that place besides being the most confused I couldn’t find my hotel room for 25 minutes it’s a bit of a maze besides that the grounds are like impecable and they also filmed a season of The Bachelorette there tasa and CLA God that was the co season that’s the co season which I didn’t realize because I had thought Alex Bush and I were talking about this in season in California they did a CO season Katie thir Katie thirst season was in New Mexico at a l and I just figured they were all there and then Alex brought it to my attention that they did it at that Palm Springs one it’s an incredible location yeah I it’s not it’s hard to explain it’s not a hotel it’s like all these different Villas yeah it’s cool yeah it is a really the grounds are awesome it’s historic what did the guy what did the lady call call your um Cita I think Cita Cita yeah a little small house okay that’s yeah kasa’s house so C small house a big California word all these golf courses that have places to say they have citas Palm Springs is phenomenal yeah Palm Springs special spot special spot love love to be in there um great great couple days of the barol classic yeah and um next up we’re in gamble sands on Monday so was me not being able to play because it’s there’s like funny visits going on with like handicaps or is more just like I got to work during the the finale or it’s not for us it’s for other people no it’s because it would be taking the spot of someone who actually paid to like play got it you know what I’m saying understood yeah yeah yeah what if I what if I it’s still like we what if I retroactively paid the fee no it’s it’s a little too we’re all you’re too close to it okay right right you’re too close cuz a lot of people had that question to for me on the morning they’re like are you like trying to advance I was like [ __ ] yeah I’m trying to advance I start to think about it yeah we wanted you to think that okay we want you to play well I played very well we want you to play well we just you’re just not going anywhere with it one year Kevin kizar and I played and we finished first place and then we withdrew classy now again I played with Kevin kizner so the first alternate got in from that site so yeah whoever was like fifth got it you know and they were you know they were griping after like so are you guys actually I was like no well we we let it go for a little bit you let them think yeah yeah um and I think that the final was during like the President’s Cup or something and Kids was like yeah obviously I can’t play do so I kind of like well yeah of course we’re going to withdraw we would have figured it out yeah you guys really want to play don’t you I would I would have loved I mean we missed it by one so I would have and we’re first we’re actually first alterate we won the card off so yeah yeah so it’s not impossible all guys back play a little bit better we’d really be having this conv play enough [ __ ] p on 17 uh oh also I’m going to go to the Canadian open now so alist is in the Canadian open two weeks I’ve never been I love Canada yeah huge Canadian fans on the show tournament looks awesome on TV heard it’s a blast and we used to when we had all the pen stuff pen and the score app were very close to the tournament so that we would always do a bunch of promotional stuff from afar and they would kind of talk and tell us about all the cool [ __ ] that they were doing at the event it looks fun the crowds are always nuts and a there and wanted a bunch Nick Taylor with the huge putt like the crowds look awesome and we are bar stool especially is pretty damn big in Canada chickets guys are a huge part of that hockey culture like aligns a lot with bartool and always has Dave’s always said that like of all the pro athletes hockey guys are the guys that are like the most bartool guys and obviously that’s a lot of Canadians and all that so uh I’m fired up to go there we got Barcelo classic Wednesday of that week in St Louis right across street from where I grew up that I’m hosting will be at obviously and then that next morning I think I’m going to fly to Canada for the RBC Canadian open so I need recommendations from people that are listening um I I want hospitality if possible I want everything we can get I want to experience the whole thing uh I had a couple people asking me questions about like does this impact his corn fairy tour points it doesn’t he doesn’t get the points which is insane so like yeah do you feel like they that seems nuts but it’s it’s it’s a tricky one because then if you have guys like that’s the way you keep the corn fairy tour alive I guess is like you H you have to play in these events for a year in order to like you know what I’m saying otherwise guys will just be going every time they they want to the thing that the thing that was annoying to me is that he didn’t get corn Fair tour points or or he didn’t get FedEx Cup points well he gets the non-member points but that doesn’t really so right but when I looked at like the list of the cor of the of the FedEx Cup standings it’s like he’s not on there he would be on there if he got temporary membership but yes you’re right he doesn’t get it so I was like so he essentially is like playing in no man’s land which seemed a little ridiculous and like I could see him getting like if there’s no corn fairy Tour event that week I feel like the point should be transferable yeah they made a rule for the US Open because because corn fairy guys were qualifying for the US Open playing well during the US Open and there was a corn fairy event that week and they found a way to be like all right if you play in the if you make it to the US Open and play in the US Open they’ll they’ll apply those points or some sort right so what’s like mathematical the crazy part for me is that right like if if you move the paycheck which is obviously amazing you know there’s a there’s a world where this whole thing happens and you could look back in a month and be like he would have been better off to have finished 15th on the corn fairy tour that week than than second on the PJ tour right he would have got some points it would have helped his standing he would have like moved along throughout the year on corn fairy tour and been able to get his PJ tour card that way been able to get corn fairy tour full status next year whereas like you could you know that that’s a realistic possibility you could look at it that way there was no corn Fair event this last week was there um I don’t think so yeah so then they probably yeah if there’s no corn fre event that week then you should it’s like he’s missing the tour it’s like he’s doing something good on the tour that’s better than this right so I thought that part was like kind of weird it’s almost like he’s getting punished for that but if he had won what would have happened he would have been [ __ ] golden he would have had two years on the PGA tour would got a million dollars I don’t even want to think about it because it’s obviously in accom eligible for the eligible for the FedEx Cup playoffs he’ be immediate like full member fast immedi he would have been in the PJ this week he would have been in the PGA this week because God incredible yeah yeah yeah I don’t want to take anything away from the t2 I just wanted to know what it would have been yeah no winning on the PJ tour takes care of like I mean opposite he wouldn’t have gotten the Masters you know he wouldn’t have gotten into the Signature Events but he would have been a p a PJ Tour player for the next two years but you know what he wasn’t that close so let’s not like it’s not no no that’s again I almost didn’t want to bring it up but I’m I would I’m sure people were curious like what happens if that like sponsor exemption winning a tournament like what happens you just boom you’re on two years that’s why that’s why it was like uh you know Fitz keeps on tapping in Alex when they play in the Zurich cuz if they win that boom you’re on the PJ tour oh yeah that’s a little shake and bake action exactly a little which a lot of the deep golf Twitter people are not happy about that I don’t know about I mean well Alex is playing well now Alex is doing good on the European tour so he’s but the first year it was little close to the family the first year was a little he was like 700 in the world it was a little dicey yeah that was remember he was going out there spraying it all over the place and then they finished like top 10 or whatever yeah they finished 11 uh yeah so he’s just got to play well in Canada alist he’s got to play really well in Canada he’s got I mean another top 10 to keep things going but but you know even if he finishes and that’s got a um doesn’t have a signature event purse but it’s got a much bigger purse $9.6 million purse or something like that over 2x I think that used to be like you know the big events on tour now everything’s drunk now with the Saudis but that used to be like a couple years ago that was like oh wi qu Hollow and like that’s what you know so so if he finish his 20th you know he’ll make like another couple hundred it’s it’s big opportuni we talked about ear a show but this guy loves pressure and loves the big events he’s about to play in the biggest one he’s ever played in yeah it he is every day every tournament is the biggest Tournament of his life certainly on this one this this one that tournament feels big it’s the national open it’s full field there’s be a [ __ ] ton of people out there remember a couple years ago it was Rory vers JT down the stretch and then last year Nick Taylor Made that 72 footer against Tommy going crazy security guard had to tackle spearheaded uh spear adwin Adam hadwin Goldberg speared him into the ground an all-time golf moment really shout out to alist man awesome I kept thinking too you know like on 17 I was like he’s going to chunk Into the Bunker make double it’s over you know and of course he chips it to an inch on 18 I’m thinking like there’s water short of the green like he could flub this wedge like oh my God he’s got to be so nervous he hits it to 10 feet makes it I’m just like you can’t teach that fuckid you [ __ ] kidding he led the field and strokes gained putting he G he he gained by the way just put in a brand new tailor made spider did no he didn’t swear to God love to hear that yeah he uh sorry second he gained over eight shots putting for the week he was fourth and strokes gained off the T and second in Strokes game pting it’s a good formula good formula that’s just good golf playing way to go alist woo wow All Right Nelly CA streak ends she won five in a row she finished t7 weird kind of leaderboard that the um rosang it’s kind of like the PJ M SE they just blew the doors off the field yeah do dusted everybody the second win for rang she’s 21 I think is she 20 she might be 20 she’s like still in school yeah I think she’s still doing like classes at Stanford yeah uh she won but Natalie cter finished t7 unbelievable run I still like her for all of the majors going forward um but yeah her street came doing and I think that would have been the most in history six yes that was the that would have been the most ever five wins in a row you know she went to the Met Gala so it was a pretty good week either way yeah true that’s a dub yeah that’s a dub six is the most across all tours or across the but if we want to get into this convers about how and it’s not their fault it’s not their fault but whoever is the uh uh the score the scoring table in this one they need to be checked they’re counting these [ __ ] wins there’s like one Sam Ste got one that was like a six-man tournament bro he won the West Virginia it was like one round it was like the West Virginia Invitational it was like only against Club Pros in West Virginia he won it like three times you got to um Shane Ryan who you know wrote that book you really like great book great Rider cup book best one of the best golf books i’ ever read if you’ve ever uh if you’re ever bored thinking about getting into a book what’s it called the one they had to win the cup they couldn’t lose I mean you were close you were close the opposite he uh he does he makes podcasts he actually took over the podcast that I started at golf diges he does a really good job podcast cucked you well yeah he had my blessing he had my blessing you kind of am iing I told him to [ __ ] my wife you know what I mean I guess that’s what cucking is in the first place but anyways um he did a whole podcast about going through the wins and why they decided to count certain ones samne by the way you’re going to like this he was irate because he felt like he got cheated he felt like he should have had 89 wins wow yeah well of course AR it’s got to be like you got all for all these records you got to do like post 1980 or post right maybe like the 70s but like the yeah Listen by again it’s not their fault but Byron Nelson 11 in a row he’s there there were four people these T yeah exactly it’s a m guest basically right dude a couple of the Sam sne ones are eyebrow raising to say the least there was the the grand slam of golf or whatever you know when like tiger would play would it be like the one guy who won each major and tiger won that like three times they just like counted it for Sam sneen didn’t counter for Tiger yeah the these 82 are that tiger Scott are substantially more every every single one of them is every single one of them is a legitimate tournament every single one every single one like if he won we talked about this Danny and I did when uh Rory and Shane won the Zer like that to me is like that should be in a different bucket that like yesterday should have been Rory’s 25th right agreed right I kind of I agree with that team team win shouldn’t really count for I don’t know what bucket you put him in but it it shouldn’t be that yeah well they have these like you know Franklin Templeton shootouts and Hero World Challenge it’s just like an unofficial win you know shouldn’t be that complicated right right yeah it’s like literally the the most illegitimate wins of Tiger’s career are like the Masters cuz there’s only 90 people yeah like all the other time he’s beating 150 take that Sam sne you know what I mean it’s Jesus ridiculous Sam sne get brutalized on this podcast it’s not his fault but you know no we’re going after the people that are scoring it this way for Sam sne and I don’t blame Sam sne for thinking he should have 89 arue for yeah I’d be in the same true he’s wrong but I mean I’d be in the same boat when you travel to concerns back home nag you did you lock up did you leave a window open this is actually a thing there was a burglary on our street not long ago yeah and so there’s Anthony Kim goes hard at my guy brandle shamell oh I saw that finished second to last Again by the way did he yeah and that was kind of Brand’s Point too brand was kind of like well I yeah so was he responding to brandle initially or was or was he just he was just mad and no I think he was just mad he tweeted a ramble shamble ramble shamble not bad you’re such a [ __ ] for beating on your chest and basically saying never Retreat and hypothetically Retreat it is well known this talentless fools disliked by most people in the golf world you still going to cover golf if Liv is involved I love you know Anthony Kim has been so far off that’s pretty bold I wonder if he even knows about the like Brooks brand he probably thinks like oh I’m going to go out this brandle guy yes I think that’s right this guy seems right for a lashing on social media like like thisand fine I’ll say it get a Lo of this brandle guy who anybody anybody hear about this brand guy he’s sure runs his mouth a lot and everybody’s like he is the number one mouth Runner and I like brandle and this is kind of part of his thing but 100% it’s part of his thing and he he crafted quite the response it was long you on Twitter I didn’t have to do that in a long time you had to do read more read more it was really long long basically being like Anthony can [ __ ] play better like he used to play and he also said like he was like the irony of you sending me this tweet like after talking about your daughter and then calling me a female body part it was like o sometimes brandle gets into those areas where like that’s where he get that’s where he loses some people where you’re like I get what he’s saying obviously but like people can call each other [ __ ] on the internet that’s kind of that’s not going anywhere I don’t think no he did I mean I think what what AK was referring to is brandle did you know kind of pull the Rory maoy 180 right like brandle was like these people are horrendous you know these are this is these guys sponsor you know the killing of journalists and their murderous dictators and then he said on Golf Channel that they should make a deal and that’s we’ve all done that basically yeah that’s the thing I’ve done that on this podcast Rory has done it brandle has done it and again Danny and I when we did our show we talked about it and this is a perfect example of when you change your mind in 2024 you look like a coward yeah but it’s it’s just kind of the way things go well but his was his was even more like he’s been very hard against he the most hard I don’t know that he said like now they’re not bad I still think he’s like yeah even if you don’t like it I think if you really look at everything reasonably the the best thing to do right now is to make the deal yeah so I it is the same hold your nose and make the deal I think he it’s the same turn that we’ve all you’re right kind of had to make but but it was like he’s been the guy him and Aon holding out the longest and then he he did kind of yeah he’s there is more Nuance to it it isn’t like he was going hard against live being like this guy’s a the there there’s a vicious dictator who does all these horrible things and now he’s saying I love this dictator he’s my favorite guy on planet Earth it’s the it’s it’s like you’re saying there’s Nuance to it where it undeniably they are this is the best thing to do right now for golf these people are still pretty [ __ ] bad so right like the Monahan one was different cuz then out of nowhere he’s sitting next to yaser that was egregious and they’re like laughing like buddies and you’re like what right I like if Rory showed up at oppressor was like sup guys this is yaser he’s mad chill like I like him right Rory is on the same line that brand is essentially Monahan that guy so a little bit of info on this uh on this you know ongoing negotiations got a little little scoop action that I Believe Jimmy Dunn who was really everyone knows you know Augusta member seminal member he was sort of the architect of the framework agreement him and this guy Ed Hurley uh they were the two guys who met Yasir for the first time without J Monahan and they were the ones who hammered out this deal Jimmy I I hear is going to be resigning from the board and I think this is indicative of those two guys made a deal right and there was this window of opportunity and then power has been seized and this all came out last week with you know Rory trying to get back on the board and yep from everything I heard it was Klay who didn’t you know really want that to happen did I also see rumors that it was like Klay tiger in spe well I reported this when when ROM when ROM left that that was Tiger was like very you know Klay is sort of the most important voice in the room and tiger is is on you know is in lock step with him okay so I think that Jimmy Dunn is like all right well they didn’t let Rory back on the board Rory and Jimmy are very very tight and I think they’re aligned where Jimmy and Ed hurlee were the first ones who had that realization I not the first ones but they were the ones in the room who had that realization of we have to make this deal like they’re going to keep taking our players they’re going to keep taking our players yeah and I don’t I don’t know that that’s the I don’t know that that’s the Klay uh tiger and spe I don’t know that that’s where they’re at correct me if I’m oversimplifying this or just completely wrong what K’s motivation for wanting it the way that he wants it is it because there’s money being pumped into the sport and the fields are lesser like the fields are less competitive because you’ve got the talent split on the other side or is he what’s you’re saying like he personally just wants to make more money from these fields well I just don’t understand what the motivation is outside of that what he said is that he feels an obligation to make a deal that’s good for the entire PGA toour membership and Rory’s whole thing is like trim the fat 100 players let’s go around the world got and I don’t think that I think there’s a section of the board that doesn’t think doesn’t see the future that way they don’t see the future as all these new tournaments around the world maybe they see the future as a improved PGA tour with these tournaments that we’ve been hearing about all the time but you know I think the the the mroy and and you know the Jimmy Dunn kind of corner is like there is no improving this tour until we make this deal because they are going to continue to poach players and I think the Saudis are in the ultimate position of strength yep because they’re like if you guys want to make a deal we’ll make the deal you know but you but the the guys who are now negotiating the deal I mean they just announced the negotiating committee 11 [ __ ] months after they already made a deal and the guys who negotiated the first deal are not there and those so they’re probably like what’s going on with these guys there’s nothing these situ seems like a bit of a clown show for sure there’s nothing these situations need less of than more committees it’s just they love making committees let’s make a committee it’s like people at in Michael Scott being like let’s have a meeting yeah exactly it’s people who make meetings just to have a meeting you love this you don’t actually get anything done you just meet to me you’ll love this I’ve I’ve spoken to Jimmy you know over the last couple years not super recently but I’ve spoken to him you know and one of the things he said to me was the enemy of all deals are time and people 100% yeah and certainly people in the last 11 months they’ve shuffled in a handful of different people and it’s been 11 months as nothing and nothing’s happened you got to start from scratch then right they’re they’re basically starting from scratch and that’s what tiger said at the Masters he was like they said are you know do you feel like you’re closer to deal he goes I don’t know if we’re closer to a deal but we’re moving in the right direction it’s like what does that mean that means like they literally just like Netty which is you know it it like the show succession it’s like whenever they go off to these like islands with these other big Mega corpse and they just like have dinner and all meet it’s like they’re doing that but they’re doing that every three months with a different group right the difference between that and this is the thing that this is attached to has a fan base and like in those succession worlds it’s they’re moving so much money and there’s people meeting that people never even hear of and nobody cares but with this it’s a sport and people are watching and tuning in and being like am I interested in this product or am I not it’s much more bang bang it’s not not as separated as like a big multi-million billion dollar business shuffling some papers around and those big billion dollar businesses in this analogy have a [ __ ] leader at the end who always just goes and meets the other person and makes the call right and there’s like that just doesn’t on the PJ tour side exists it did and then they all freaked out yeah right right they delegated the power to deal makers and then the guys made a deal without because you’re never going to get you’re never going to get um consensus with a a member organization 200 people because the deal that that Rory might want is not the deal that you know Nate Lashley or you know the one of these Rank and foul guys want so it’s and that’s what canl said he’s like my obligation was you know I represent the entire member it’s just a really it’s complicated there’s no simple answer because it’s a member run organization and when it wasn’t a member run organization and they made this massive deal they freaked out about that not being a member organization yeah damn I can’t believe we’re still talking about this in 2024 nuts nothing’s happened right that’s what I I was at Mother’s Day brunch the other day and one of my family friends who doesn’t follow golf he goes oh yeah I remember at your wedding you know we was all what’s going on with that I was like no basically nothing’s happened just a lot of people trying to grab power there’s less lawsuits yeah that’s right that’s about it that’s right uh all right we got to get out to this event we’re hosting the Derby City Duel this week today in a half hour so I’m excited for that um Valhalla last thing pre- standard PGA Championship type course right big ballpark long juicy rough I think it’ll play tough the last uh I think the last five PGA actually have a lower winning score to par than the US opens I remember that was a stat whoa yeah cuz it’s like really well last year oakill was like you know what was it like five under six under something like that seven under the year before that Q was like was like impossible or it’s been close I don’t know if it’s but pga’s you know there’s this there’s this thought process that that it’s the easiest one and they’ve you know you shoot 20 under par it’s not the case anymore plays hard which I like yeah I enjoy the hell out of that PJ have been awesome recently we have we have we have highlighted that every year because the PJ is in most people’s mind a clear fourth of all the major championships it just is it doesn’t have quite the identity that the others have each one’s got its own lane and it’s had it forever and everybody knows it and whatever in the PJ while it’s a goddamn major and it’s awesome hasn’t had that yet it has delivered phenomenal finish after phenomenal you go Jason Day in 2015 with spe at Whistling straight spe gave him that like thumbs up you had um Brooks kka Tiger Woods 2018 coming down the stretch in St Louis at Brook has really pumped some life into this thing yep the next year Brooks holds off DJ at Beth Page black yeah uh where he was kind of crumbling a little bit the next year Co year morawa hit drove the green mate Eagle on that 16th hole at TBC Harding Park where you had DJ Paul Casey a bunch of names right in there the next year was Phil m in like hug kind of like took us out that is a fever dream it really is like that was surreal everybody surrounded the green on the 18th at kioa it was like a year after covid so it was kind of like oh wow we’re back there’s crowds um next year JT beats Wills Al tus in a playoff at Southern hillso hole and then obviously last year we had Brooks kka kind of holds off Victor havin and sneaky Scotty shuffler I was looking at that I just forgot that he finished second that week T2 me too but we’ve had you’re right the PJ has delivered it’s like every single year um almost over the last decade it feels like it’s delivered the last time we were here Rory uh what he birdied 17 and then played played up on 18 Phil was not happy Phil was like not happy about that it was Phil and Ricky in the group in front of t- shot on 18 like almost went in the water y it was like so close to the water but it rained so it like stayed on the side Hill and he laid up that was like the first golf m since I got hired at barol thinking back cuz I remember Phil being pissed and that was a big deal Phil was not happy he was really mad was Ricky in that group Ricky was I think in the final group or in the he was Phil and then burn weisberger was with Rory and it was like Phil and Ricky and and it was dark and they were like we’ll let you guys tea off because then you can finish but then we’re going to finish and so they’re like okay so they Rory and wbury tea off but then they didn’t get the memo that they weren’t going to play up like at pretty much the same time so Phil and Ricky are then up on the green trying to do their thing and Rory’s like gonna hit up near the green and it was dark and they’re like Phil was like what what are they doing it was [ __ ] nuts it was like they’re finishing a major championship that way yeah it was crazy I do remember that that was that was his second major of that year that was that was L 21 he’d won four majors he was three tournaments in a row I think he won the British won brid then he won the Bridgestone and then he won that and his purple little Nike shirt and it was like this guy’s the king that was a great time to be a huge Roy fan it always is and it still is I mean this guy has won back-to-back tournaments still in 2024 but back then it was fun I think the stars are aligning I really do this is the last place he want a majer he’s got two wins in a row I think he’s trying to manifest it that we talked were we recording when we I don’t think we were recording I think I’m all on this week we talked about that we were recording when we talked about that yeah pretty sure you just got off a Redeye right yeah you’re a trooper would you sleep on it yeah I slept for like three hours but I had to connect I went LA to Atlanta and then Atlanta to Louisville yeah it’s tough my mom was like way you have to come to Mother’s Day so there’s no Chance’s no here I uh American Airlines keeps delivering for me lately they’re on a hot streak big American guy now the our um flight attendant yesterday wrote on napkins handwritten notes to everyone that was a platinum executive member in the in It’s A Classy Touch H I still have it in my backpack that’s a classy touch just all class over there right now oh all right uh all right um Alistar hopefully coming up next um we’re g to try to get him this evening if we don’t we’ll have him on the next show for sure but I know he’s doing great how are you guys we’re doing great we’re in Louisville I love that you’re just grinding on the corn fairy tour again are you going to walk in like the [ __ ] of the Walk this week I got a little extra pep in the step that’s for sure has the uh has the direct deposit hit yet no I think it’s I think it happens on Wednesday wad Wednesday that’s what Kevin calls it you ready for wad wedes this is your first like proper wad Wednesday yeah I think last year I finished seventh in New Jersey and that was the biggest check I’ve ever had so this is by far more than that you would have had to win multiple events right like what what is the winning is like 125 130 on on Corner fre tour usually I think it’s up to 180 now oh nice so yeah win an event and finish like solo second and maybe you’d be close maybe yeah this this will do I I’ll take this one aliser have you um I know like yesterday I legitimately couldn’t even text you because I had to text Dan who was responding and was with you because I know that you just weren’t looking at your phone have you had time to actually just go through your phone yeah um last night we got done with dinner and uh I I finally opened it up and it was it was amazing I mean there I’ve never had that many text messages in my life the video that you sent or dance set of your phone Jing just non-stop was it doing that for hours I mean imagine you just turned it off I I shut it off yeah we we were we were sitting at the clubhouse bar waiting for um the last few groups to come in and I was I opened it up and he goes you going to let that thing go and then he took the video and I was like yeah I need to shut this thing off there’s no way uh I mean what a day obviously like a life-changing day I was curious because because I was a little nervous on Sunday morning after Saturday’s round you got off to such a good start on on um Thursday and then you were up there I think you had the lead at one point on Friday and then made a couple bogeys coming in in on Friday you shot even on Saturday which on a course like that saw you Dro down a little bit what what was kind of how’d you feel Saturday night and and what was your game plan going into Sunday um you know Saturday night my caddy and I actually went and got some fast food we we were just exhausted we grabbed some fast food and went back to the Airbnb and um we went and got in the ocean we went and just kind of hung out we took a little dive in on the Myrtle Beach and got in the ocean and just uh connected with nature really with with with everything going on and we felt so refreshed and um really Saturday wasn’t that bad the putts just didn’t really drop uh the finish on Friday got one bad one bad break and then just three putted twice and it was I I really played solid all week so um we we just kept it light and I actually facetimed Rigs and the boys when they were playing at greyhawk and um Spirits were high I I knew my game was in a good place and we just wanted to put oursel in position and see where it took us and the putter was working obviously on Sunday you um you’d be happy that you actually missed Saturday’s game because myself and Travis were teammates which never happens and we were lighting it up out there that that does that that never happens never let alone let alone you and Travis on a heater we were just we were kind of buzzing aliser facetimed in I was like we’re kind of in the pocket right now so wait you got you gotta wait a second because me and Travis were doing some damage to some people um yeah it was it was so from our vantage point it’s funny like we were talking about it quite a bit earlier I might have cried talking about it just like how cool it was to watch I legitimately had like tears in my eyes in my part when you made the put on 18 because it’s just it’s insane to know you as well as I know you to hang out as much as we’ve hung out we’ve gotten drunk together we’ve talked about life together we’ve played golf together and then you’re watching PJ tour coverage and you’re like wait there’s that guy doing the thing like you were just doing the thing I imagine it’s like what you must felt like when Fitz like wins the major like f was always like since we were 18 years old Fitz was like [ __ ] the God’s gift to golf you already won the US Sam so there was never this like was always expected you know what I mean yeah and so I’m watching and I’m like there’s fans there’s a crowd they’re cutting to aliser on 18 and he’s here in the biggest moment of his life and he’s on the green with a 1015 footer and you’re just calm as [ __ ] and rolling it right in the heart like you I know we talked on the phone last night you said you kind of like blacked out now that you’ve had a day to kind of digest it what do you like remember feeling from that moment because I was so nervous I couldn’t even hold my phone and then you’re out there actually doing it in in the moment um to be honest I was more more nervous on Friday and Saturday than I was on Sunday um you an attack mode yeah I mean I I’ve I’ve never been so calm to be honest I I was just in the zone um and and snowy and I actually talked about this it was it was kind of a blessing that I did shoot even par on Saturday and it was just a Freewheel Sunday like it was it was go time it was put yourself in the right spots and give yourself a lot of chances it wasn’t it wasn’t a protect kind of situation it was it was go get it and it was there for me to take and I I took it I mean it was it was awesome um I was in full control really uh a couple scorely shots here and there but I never was frustrated I I knew my game was there I I was so calm it was amazing I hit a terrible t- shot on SE uh 17 like terrible like we we didn’t really figure out the wind and I came up and out of it and I was like man that thing’s 30 yards offline with the seven iron like it was just not even close calmly walked up there and chipped it to a foot like it was it was awesome when you finished you were I think you were T2 when you finished we thought because you know everyone was like 16 under par that people were going to pass you did you did you think you were going to finish I mean you finished two-way T2 I I thought it was going to be fourth or fifth but I guess I guess it like on Sunday afternoons the wind kicks up a little bit you know some of those guys maybe aren’t in the same position that you’re in where you know a T3 means a lot for them with points and stuff like were you surprised at how well your score held up um a little bit but like I I kind of talked about 17 was weird I knew there would possibly be a few bogeys in there that wind was gusting a little bit in the afternoon um but I I was still in attack mode I was still like you got to keep making birdies you got to keep the gas you know foot on the pedal and make sure that you’re able to lock in that top 10 and um when I made bogey on 14 I was like all right well let’s finish strong let’s let’s make sure that you give yourself a couple more chances and I T putted I I played 15 to Perfection I puted for a birdie and then hit an unbelievable drive on 16 to get it all the way down way down there on 16 that was insane that there was the drives on 15 and 16 were probably 600 plus yards combined I mean there was I mean I think the drive on the drive on 15 was like 340 something and the same thing with 16 it just yeah they might have almost been 700 combined dude cuz like it might have been on 16 they were panning to people the rest of the afternoon after you were already in the clubhouse hanging with snowy and like guys were hitting like full wedges in and I was like Alistar was chipping over the bunker yeah it’s it’s kind of a decision hole you could either hit driver and get it all the way down there or you lay back like 240 off the te and give yourself a full wedge um but I was feeling it with the driver and I looked at my cat he was like you get if I had driver down here and he goes yep just keep it left of the tower you got it and just absolutely nuked one and then so your putter I think Dan looked it up Strokes game putting you were third I think eight for the week in the yield and I know you you I think you cleaned out your place you moved recently you said you had how many Putters did you find I too many I I think I counted 24 24 Putters you had some experiments you got 24 putter that’s when you have a problem at some point I did have a problem if you got 24 Putters you don’t have one would be the typical Mantra and yet your your top five in Strokes game putting this week on the 15 on that 16th hole you made what looked like a 12 to 15f footer on 18 you made another you know 10 15 Foo or whatever it was under intense pressure what was it like with the putting this week what why were you just rolling it so much better uh well I switched to the tailor made spider um I found one I found one that I liked it’s it looked I looked down at it and I just felt comfortable um I had a couple that I was experimenting before and uh called Nick Springer who works mostly on the corn fairy tour but he’s T made rep for both tours and I was like look I I know I’ve experimented with a couple of these I think this is the one and he ordered it and sent it to Myrtle and I took it out of the wrapping and put it down I said yep we’re good and just rolled the rock all week it was your best finish in a I mean better than any finish you’ve had on the corn fairy tour uh you finished T2 why do you think that is was it was there something mindset wise was there you know does your game maybe translate a little better on PGA Tour setups like how do you how do you explain that because you I think you’ve had 39 corn fairy tour starts and this was you your second start on the PGA tour and you finished second um you know I I don’t know how to explain it to be honest um I feel like in my lifetime when when there’s big moments I tend to step up and that’s that’s a very good quality I guess a great thing better than yeah even even when I was playing hockey it was the same thing we get into a big big game and I would I would step my game up just a little bit more so it’s a little extra Focus um and I would love to channel that all the time um but I I I don’t know I I guess I could relate it to the way Brooks kepka goes into Majors that’s the way I feel about it yeah I uh I’m that was a great question from Dan because I was going to go that direction too because we behind your back have all talked about it too where we’re like Alistair when he goes to final stage Q school or he’s up against it in E any stage of Q School like he brings it when he we had the Glen Club event last year and Bar’s there and it’s like they getting the most exposure of any corn Fair tour you had like your highest finish and then this week it’s like I can’t remember one time following you which we do all the time every Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday on corn fairy tour where it’s like oh Alistar opened with he’s one off the lead and he’s like leading the tournament on Friday I was like I can’t remember that on the corn fairy tour or a q school any stage let alone now he’s in his first PGA Tour event with the biggest first that he’s played in and he’s playing the best he’s ever played and I was like I I I want to ask you like do you feel sometimes On Any Given event if it’s not about as big a stage as you could play that it’s a little bit tougher to lock in on every shot or get up for it or something along those lines a little bit yeah um there’s just a little extra Focus I guess that I’m I was so locked in this week and and I gotta give kudos to my caddy as well because he did an unbelievable job we give us a story with him give us a story with him again yeah so uh he’s been off and on on the PJ tour in corn fairy working for a few different guys and um when we when you guys gave me the exemption um Brandon Harkins gave me a hey if you if you need a guy uh you should take my caddy and I was like well I’ve never really you know met him or you know hung out with him enough like does he know my game he’s like we’ll play a couple practice rounds the next few weeks and you’ll get to know him a little bit and you can make the decision and we we did that we played practice rounds in Savannah we actually got paired together in Savannah um and then we played braat rounds after that as well and it was like it was easy and um unfortunately my normal caddy had to go back to Canada and so it actually worked out and so I I asked Brando um when we were in Florida like would you be open to working for me in the PJ tour he goes yeah I’m there and so it was it was so easy he made it I mean our game plan was so simple it was he was so good with the wind um and I I I trusted him with everything and it was it was it was this is where you’re hitting it look and shoot point and shoot and it was kind of funny he was talking to Joel Damon when we got done he was like you ever played a video game that’s what it’s like cading for Alister well we were saying that you know you guys went on that dinner on Tuesday with Joel and and kids and you just dusted all those guys dude you you know that’s got to that’s got to mean something for you like to beat I mean that I know the the big boys were at quill Hollow but like there were a lot of quality quality players that you beat going away this past week yeah it gives me a lot of confidence and I gotta shout out kiz because he kind of lit a fire under my ass at dinner and he was like how old are you he like I’m 30 he goes you better get your [ __ ] together I was like you know my time’s coming and I’m going to do this thing and and I performed this week it’s a classic kiss line I love that like that’s so he just yeah he’s like you yeah you better get it together I uh yeah I you know I I gotta ask you how much it meant like Dan so Dan snowy is maybe the best tracker of any player that I’ve ever met I don’t know how because he was because you know it wasn’t on TV until you were pretty much done on Sunday and the rest of it really just wasn’t really on TV when you were playing and so your your good buddy Dan who’s become a good buddy of mine now he was tracking so well that he was sending pictures of your lie and then a video of your shot on like almost every shot and given real-time updates and I noticed that like Thursday Friday and then I found out Saturday that a bunch of other guys that we play golf with he was also texting them as well so I was like every shot that he hits he’s texting all these people I was like why don’t you put us all on one group text which he did he was with you the entire week your family was there it was Mother’s day yesterday uh you had that moment with your mom like how important was it for you that you had this whole support system for the biggest week of your golf career yeah it was awesome um it’s it’s unbelievable how quick uh snowy’s legs move those little things get going I mean it doesn’t look like he’s running but he’s running to get up those get those pictures and get the get the good spots and I think there was one time on on Friday uh he was standing uh down the left side on on 11 and I pulled it and uh he was right there when I walked up there and I was just like barely across the cart path and he was like you got this you’re good I’m like man I was trying to hit you I just need you to stand in the middle of the Fairway next time so you’re you’re almost certainly into the Canadian open have you received like word from the tour on how that works do you have to wait until the field is finalized how does that all work going forward because the top 10 gets you in to another event when I signed my card on on Sunday so yesterday um I I signed the form to be in the Canadian open so I will be there and um I just have to withdraw from the Raleigh corn fairy event which is by the way that’s one of my favorite golf courses so hopefully we’ll just perform in Canada and just see you later cor it is something that we were talking about where it’s like they don’t they don’t convert the points so it I mean like on one hand it’s like yeah you know your goal this year is to finish top 30 in the coin fair when you have an opportunity like this you you you don’t have a choice you have to keep growing no you have to take it and uh that’s actually why I’m playing this week in Kansas City and most likely going to be playing in Knoxville cuz I need to make sure that I keep the points going for the corn Fairy stuff um I think I’m like 97th or maybe a 100th on the corn fairy list right now so I need to make sure that I’m getting in the next reshuffle to keep my points and keep my status because I only have 12 guaranteed um and everybody’s going to be getting points you know behind me in front of me I got to keep pace and um yeah I’m I mean I’m going to Canada that’s that’s not a that’s not a yander butts I’m going to Canada and yeah I will be wearing this that was a great part of your interview I enjoyed that interview where you said they’re like what are you looking forward to a Canada or something you’re like well I’m looking forward to walking into Toronto with my Canucks Jersey on oh yeah I’m I’m ready to ruffle some feathers the Canucks keep going maybe they’ll be in the late in the playoffs maybe it’ll be the early uh Stanley Cup Final that would be amazing to wear that Jersey in Toronto and kind of you rub a little [Music] wounds Danny rapsodo that’s what Alex Bush just said that’s good that’s my new nickname Danny rapo Danny rapo I’ve got one of these things too and they’re unbelievable roto.com with the purchase of an mlm2 Pro play your way with rap SoDo golf play Without Limits Danny rap soda [Music] how impactful was it or noticeable was it having fans just because on a weekend week out basis you know even college golf corn fairy Tour golf it’s very rare that you guys have a significant amount of fans and a golf course is a massive Arena so even if you do have a couple thousand people out there it looks like there’s 12 people out there Myrtle Beach they set some records there was noticeable crowds H like you know being in that environment for one of the first times in your in your life what was that like um it was awesome uh the more the more people the better I like I said I I feel like I walk in better there’s there’s plenty of people there’s cheers there’s uh there’s people being able to spot your paws when it when it when you hit it a little further offline um and uh it’s awesome uh I I loved every every bit of it and I mean the the kids out there were were so great too they they were always asking for autographs and I I love doing that stuff too so the fans were awesome and it was an unbelievable experience uh are you like are you just exhausted now have you like come down from it a little bit it’s been a day you had to travel it’s like almost like a kicking the like uh like a little piece of Humble Pie right to your face you’re taking a couple flights or whatever it is to get to Kansas City yeah I mean I took a couple flights and I slept the whole way um but I I keep getting tagged in my my last final Putt and it I still have you know Goose Buffs and chills and um it’s awesome the adrenaline is still pumping that probably I mean we play for five bucks in greyhawk every Saturday that putt was probably for like $200,000 Uh Kevin price on for the PGA Tour posted something about it and it was the difference between T3 with seven ways or something and T2 for two was $191,000 yeah so like did that I mean were were you able to in your position because like you know a lot of guys who’ve been playing on the PG tour for a while they don’t think about that it’s like you know it’s their job that cross your mind at all like this could be for a lot you’re just thinking make the putt no I was so locked in I just wanted to make the putt yeah I was think we were all thinking about it I was like oh my God this is like this is the leaderboard there’s a million people up there and you’re like dude even if he like I was like if he if he doesn’t make Birdie on at might not even finish inside the top 10 the way it was going and like how many names are up there and you you know and then I that’s the only thing we could think about and yeah to be in your environment obviously in order to perform in that situation you have to not think about it but were you were you leaderboard watching like were you trying to keep up with what was going on um when I made the Boe on 14 there was a big leader uh big scoreboard uh right off the 14th green um that I looked at when I was standing on the 15th T um and I think I was like tied Ninth at the time and I know that there was a couple of par fives and I was like okay you you got to get who minimum and uh why not do it here why not why not make Eagle so I I’m locked back in hid an unbelievable Drive actually hit eight iron into that par five which was which was massive that hole is not short that’s a that’s a pretty I mean I think it’s 550 yeah 550 Canada’s gonna be [ __ ] electric because that is that’s not an additional field event it’s been awesome Rory you know a couple years ago shooting 61 last year uh Nick oh it was Rory JT a couple years ago yeah Nick Taylor last year National open 100 like that’s that’s going to feel like the biggest event you’ve ever played in I think yeah I’m I’m looking forward to it I I can’t wait to be there Canadian born and you’re playing in the Canadian open yeah yeah that it’s wild it’s special it’s a it’s a lifechanger it’s awesome to watch in real time it was really really really fun thank you thank you guys one of my big concerns is we got to figure out when we’re going to celebrate this thing like you keep you’re gonna play this week you’re probably gonna play next week they’re going to be playing in Canada hopefully you just win in Canada and then we could celebrate that Sunday night but we’re I’m trying to figure out when are we going to go to izzys when are we going to do we got we got some [ __ ] to plan so you need to win I if you just win it makes it a lot easier because then you don’t have to play any of this other [ __ ] if you don’t want to yeah yeah the winning is the goal every time we te it up so why not do it now all right Al [ __ ] man that was awesome that was so fun to watch we were going crazy that was it was really bizarre because we couldn’t really watch it we were like watching it through snowy texting and then like the the tour cast which is actually pretty legit tour cast was great having you on tour cast for a week was [ __ ] awesome it was way better it was like it’s it’s really accurate too they do they do a really good job theot on did it hit like the right it was drawing hit the right side of the Fairway and kind of kicked back into the Fairway yeah um the wind was off the right and I was just I hit the mini driver just to make sure that I there’s a there’s a tree that’s down there on the right side that kind of overhangs so if I hit driver anywhere down the right it’s completely blocked and so it hit mini driver to just give myself a little extra room and I actually roasted it and uh it went I think it might have went over 300 yards but the tree was still kind of in the way it got a nice kick right off the right side of the Fairway but I was a couple yards in from the right rough and the tree was still overhanging because the pin was in the far right um and I hit a nice big cut with the pitching wedge from 137 I think it was I think or at least that’s what we were playing it um and yeah I think it was 15 feet and 128 in what it was yeah wow yeah no I remember that because we were all in the group chat pudle be 30 feet by the by the end of this tail we were we were we were all in the group chat and I was like [ __ ] me this is makeable I was like this is he’s right putting he’s on the fat side of the green he’s probably putting up the hill like this is makeable yeah there there was a little bit of a grain change so I mean we read it perfect it was a left Edge pot and then the grain held it at the end and it broke to the right side and then just came back right in the middle it was it was so awesome it was it was two three feet out and I was like that thing’s going right I love you brought your boy in there to help with the read to confirm it yeah he he’s he’s awesome Brando didn’t unbelievable job he’s great at reading putts I think he misread one or two but I I also misread him at the same time so we were locked in we were on the same page the whole week it was unbelievable biggest put of your life and you’re like hey new caddy that I’ve never had before get over here and tell me what this I think this is doing this yep Drano right in the [ __ ] middle God I’ll tell you what we went to we went to popstroke on Wednesday night and he destroyed us like he was he was rolling The Rock I was like man I gotta I gotta get this guy in on want see that’s exactly what you want to see yeah yeah unreal um all right alist you’re the you’re the man I love you I can’t believe how well you did with that opportunity I can’t believe you finished second I mean I can but I also can’t like I’m thinking on a like please don’t chunk it in the water and you’re thinking like I’m goingon to make birdie so it’s just a complet different mindset but that was probably the most fun I’ve ever had following someone play sports on any level and you just kept making birdies and it was sick so you changed your life yesterday thank you rigs you you changed my life so thank you so much you’re the man um all right get some sleep I know you got proam Wednesday don’t you know keep it rolling this week I know there I know there’s not the same person there won’t be the same crowd but you’re playing good [ __ ] lock in keep it rolling yeah we’ll do thanks boys congratulations Alistair we’ll see you this week go get a win this week thank you guys love you guys see y

  1. You guys skipped over 2022 when Tiger played masters, pga champ, and the open at St. Andrews. Remember the pause on the Swilcan bridge? Can we just get Tiger some stem cells or something? That’s still a thing right?

  2. I’ll be volunteering at the RBC Open this year – and will be cheering Alastair 🇨🇦. Riggs – you’re a good guy.

  3. What deal will be made…? There's no deal to be made. PGA golfers just want more money because they realize they won't get LIV-type money from SSG deal.
Maybe it's time people start thinking like adults and see things as they are and not what they wish it to be.

Tours should stay separate and it's up to each tour to make its tour better to retain or attract golfers to it. Maybe get PIF to take over the European Tour and attempt to make it as good as it was back in the 80's and 90's…independent from the PGA!

    – LIV golfers have contracts. They can't just up and leave. If Golfer A got $100 mil for a 5-year contract and has only played 1 year, will he really pay back $80 mil to go play on the PGA tour?

    – The tours have different formats and LIV has a team element.

    – PGA made its bed when they accepted the SSG deal. How can anybody even expect Yasir to invest his "blood money" (what they called the PIF money) into PGA when LIV Golf is treated as it is? You can't have your bread buttered on both sides…PGA golfers made the decision to stay on PGA and now they should live with the consequences (and less money) or try to get a contract with LIV…easy as pie.

    – PGA has realized that their product is weaker without the top golfers that went to LIV. PGA has fewer viewers now. PGA won't be able to negotiate the same type of deals with advertisers, sponsors, and TV bosses now with those golfers not on their tour anymore. So they should also maybe start to accept that their role has diminished and beggars can't be choosers. The PGA needs LIV golfers….LIV doesn't need the PGA, LIV golfers just want to play in Majors.

    – LIV golfers can't just go and play on PGA events and the same goes for PGA golfers. The only thing in my mind that can happen is if the PGA and LIV negotiate events to be added in which the golfers from different tours can compete against each other. LIV golfers will not sign up to go play 30 to 40 weeks in a year again…just saying

How: The Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup rotate. So I would suggest scrapping the Presidents Cup but not the team. Then you are left with the USA team, the European team, and the Presidents Cup team. Add a LIV team and the 4 teams can play against each other in a Ryder Cup-type tournament in a Round Robin at the end of the year to determine the winner. That would get enough viewers and push ratings. Maybe Yasir can be convinced to put up the money for such a tournament.

    – And lastly, the Majors should look at their criteria for invites. If the Majors can at least appear to be independent from PGA as they are supposed to be, and they invite the top 20/25 LIV golfers (excluding those with Major exemptions), the LIV fans might start supporting the majors again and this hate between the tours can start subsiding. The different tours should also have their own ranking system just like the PGA has the OWGR…and the Majors can use the tour's ranking to decide who they invite.

  4. Riggs is one of the most humble guys. He personally staked Alisadair, believes in him and won’t mention that side of it. Riggs also has an ego which helps him succeed in this cutthroat industry. Fun to see him and the team to grow this brand and have a positive impact of golf.

  5. Ok ok ok …. No more Riggs bashing on here! Dude is special, to write a 50k to someone to pursue their dream…. Wow! Riggs you are one hell of guy!

  6. Riggs, you get a lot of crap with how your tee shots suck, but you are a great human for taking care of Allister! It is also sneaky good for not talking yourself up when you did it. Just being happy for the kid is great!
