of two and in terms of product development I mean as good as any there’s ever been in that side Paul Robinson Harry K Steven mcf Jonathan Woodgate Alan Smith maybe there’s only been one side that’s for leads incredible I’m sure the the day will come when Harry gr debuts for leads and that’ll be five from one family which is amazing what a player Eddie gray was go past people just like McDonald does at this level gr was doing it at the top level here’s Charlie Gray no relation ala rpr has Henderson Hall outside him chose to go infield instead to alodo like the obvious pass but then again this is Manchester City hon Hall’s got it now [Music] comfortable footwork from mukasa and it has been a regular sight hasn’t it those two center backs on the ball around the halfway line for Manchester City and leads clearly prepped for that plan for it it’s what happens now that’s of more important to them I think they close the gaps or don’t there’s mukasa it’s important that both Center halfes do come out with the ball and make things happen for is the city it’s no good keep passing it to each other and not make any sort of ground already seen Simpson FY creating an very patient is it too patient a little bit at times has to be some penetration once you find that little bit of space you got to make it happen and this is what they’re trying to do here now there’s and Sam Chambers is now looking for options on the counter silly foul he was surrounded by three probably running into a blind alley and Al wodo couldn’t help himself nudge Chambers was looking at though he’s only 17 that should tell you plenty wearing four in the middle of that leads Midfield there he scored a good goal against milville as well she’s ringing the edge of the box from a set Play Good finish from him he’s a energetic player he’ll work hard defensively he get on the ball and try and make things happen good all around Midfield player as you should be buo just pinched it Chambers thought he was about to tee off with another potential counter [Music] there halfway through this first half that really does look like the plan doesn’t it from leads pinch it and go they’ve got pace and trickery so’s Alpha rpr here deflection could have been horrible as it turned out it was very nice indeed for Rory mid not too many of the Man City players made a run into the box the only one who was really in there was hesky seen hesy play a couple of different roles in this tournament so far seen him playing the number 10 role went really deep to pick up the ball today he’s playing as the main Center forward scored goals across all the the many competitions he’s played in Manchester City don’t lose very very often they actually lost the other more minor domestic Cup Final to Manchester United which must have been painful the other day they only lost their under 18s across all the different competitions they played in five times this season es has scored a few across all of them far more prolific last turn but as Stuart said doesn’t actually always play center forward his younger brother Regan hesy is also in the city system even been involved with the the under 19 group as they were for Europe Alpa R onside offside finished it well enough Le Defenders were already looking sure enough that flag went up at first I thought he wasn’t going to put the flag up but it was the right decision he was offside when the ball was played good finish mind you saw his Pace there running with the ball just made his run a fraction too early has it scored yet in the fa youth cup far Alfa rpr he has scored in three of the other competitions let’s see just how tight this was tulson allowed him to run offside I would suggest FY stepping up again Dara got [Applause] there he’s threatening to be threatening isn’t he and dar you feel like something may well happen around him he looks slightly unpredictable as well doesn’t he all the players for Man City the rck again another tight angle for hesy was going to get to it first and maybe could have done better there it’s a really good delivery he said that LE didn’t defend set plays particularly well against milal here it comes in there was a little nudge he actually gets a slight touch on it hesky and then a leads Defender just behind him got one as well one of those that could go anywhere including in I guess Simpson pey here with the club all the way from 8 years old he’s just telling the goalkeeper Grant to play a bit higher up so when he plays the ball back he can step onto it maybe play that ball forward a bit quicker lovely turn from [Music] chambers kodo again getting back no foul given you can see he is just primed and ready to go on moments like that Sam Chambers it’s clearly the plan you to mention two players before the game that haven’t been involved in the last couple of matches for rpr again this time does get the better of Tolson and it’s out the other side just going back to what I was saying F and Wilson both unavailable but they were key players for leads Chambers has really stepped in for mcfaden and played almost the same sort of role and done equally as well a gentle Pace from the back of Manchester City I guess they think they’ll weigh you down eventually but I thought kind of playing into lead’s hands a bit Leeds don’t want him to pop it around quicker Henderson Hall with the cross it’s a good one hesy on the chest unselfishly trying to a bit a hold up plane to play in joland Dara right his first touch wasn’t quite right was a an okay first touch but his first touch went backwards I thought he could have turned his body and actually taken it into the space and got his shot away really strong from Avo not on target well you can see what he was looking to do just wrap his foot around it with his left foot bend it into that far Corner crew was beat a bit too easily on that occasion comes off the outside of his boot rather than inside slies away not been able to play as this season Justin obodo scored once in this run and they beat West Ham the holders in extra time he got five youth Cup goals last season and he got 18 in 24 League games with City winning the national championship against West Ham Southern Champs against the northern Champs chadrick just failed there seen too much him so far he’s been excellent in the couple of games I’ve seen Midfield player that scored goals he’s been very hard working he’s got a pass as well has really been able to get on the ball so far good defensive job against Midfield players of Man City I suppose the game plan means that neither crew nor Chadwick will get on the ball that much and it’s more of about them helping out as a screen and then if Vincent Chambers McDonald get it absolutely they the counter it absolutely Man City are trying to press quite High when Lees are playing out from the back so there’s not going to be too much opportunity for them to get easy possession that’s why I say as a Midfield player you have to be able to do everything or should be able to do everything never air he’s a holding Midfield player he’s an attacking Midfield player Midfield player that’s why they play in Midfield they should be a to do both sides of the game Rich has just waited for the contact and andala provided it a very modern softish free kick it always gets whistled these days farre with the fancy footwork right in front of his coach who applauds it and leads have nicked it back these are the moments they’re playing for moments in games like this they know they’re not going to have the ball it’s what they do do with it when they do get it Vincent has Richards coming forward first time in the game and he left the leg in just like that and snuffed out his first touch was a bit heavy not sure the ball that was played to him was sympathetic nefi just came and this is where they won the ball back here’s the combination play now it gets played out here Vincent’s pass just played a bit too heavy and his first touch wasn’t good enough well a half hour very low on chances for the Youth game’s biggest prize here dalala trying to change that and Well Done Vincent sticking with him all the way stuck the toe out when the chop came it’s another Corner that’s one thing you know about man city wide players sometimes there’s a chance to cross it they’re going to chop it back and then for the next pass into the box Vincent knew that defended it well short this time between dala Massa Charlie great LS will settle in four and two and then three and one Manchester City just trying to bypass it it’s up to Rory midi here not a great idea to go to ground and leave the ball about five yards away from two or three yards away from you he got a problem with his knee here his right knee was just holding they do have Owen Granger on the bench who’s played once in this youth cup run he played the most comfortable win the four goal win over Brighton he now feeling his thigh which not good well you got to be ready as they always say subke Keepers you’ll rarely get on the problem is you never know when it might be and you really from our neutral perspective don’t ever want to see any young hopeful player having to leave a game of this level early Aaron Lennon second from the left there a pretty famous Le United Academy graduate himself who played when he was still a school boy Noble he really does look a good Center back I have to say the absolute anti Enis of what they were doing in the first half that’s back to front in no time when you move it that accurately they two perfect balls in there that made the finish so simple now Rob Etherington was planning this change before that goal happened we’ve talked about how Freddy Lane will not fondly remember this uh it’ll be no Comfort to him I’m sure that he has been excellent through this youth cup run but as a right winger he is not a Center forward to be honest Connor Douglas isn’t really either but he’s a more physical presence so maybe that’s a thing he is on let’s see how they change it it may well be that Douglas plays wide and Vincent goes through the middle but we shall see yeah that’s exactly what they’re going to do Douglas has come to the right hand side Vincent’s going to play as the main Center forward it’s going to be a very difficult rest of the game here for leads to get back into it there you saw the importance of a center back you know we talk about center backs being had to play out be good on the ball there’s a difference between being good on the ball and play out from the back and driving into Midfield and that’s exactly what these two Center halves have done at times particularly Noble now they can’t just sit leads and maybe do the the kitchen sink for the last 10 minutes it’s a two-goal deficit it’s a different feeli and they’ve had a shot it’s a long way out and it’s a fairly long way off from Vincent but it’s an effort at least his touch back inside Henderson Hall doesn’t really try too hard to close him down it’s not a great effort from the man that’s now playing in the center forward role he knew it was going to be tough it’s really tough now two- n down an hour played those 5,000 lead supporters also know it’s going to be a tough 30 minutes Vincent again see what they’re made of and whether City just sit off a bit or keep doing what they’ve been doing far better since the restart no no whistle there well done referee those are given far too often and I think it was out of play though not sure the leads fans agree with you nor him night for them and remember the run of the final as well those games against some of the bigger opposition very good result against M to get through that result against Liverpool where they played really well yes it wasn’t Liverpool’s strongest side but that was the outstanding performance from them for against against Brighton 2-0 against Norwich it’s been a really good run and disappointing that some of their key players weren’t able to show exactly what quality they’ve got James I thought did well he ran with the ball at times he tried to go past people he looks a quality player but so to McDonald down the left hand side I think with the coming years we’ll see a lot of both those players Chambers and McDonald maybe if not at leads somewhere else just with Chambers there in the club tracks it was the uh fortunate Marley Wilson who was scoring at a goal in game before the back problem ended his season early couple of months ago he’d have been so frustrated watching it being a tough night as a strong forward watching it being a tough night for Freddy Lane and Harvey Vincent and everybody who had to go up there but for Manchester City these boys in front of what 15,000 of Their Own fans to enjoy moments like this might be a while before they enjoy that again but they do have that little bit of inspiration is tough Stewart though obviously clearly Phil foden the standout but there’s Rico Lewis there’s Oscar Bob who’s been a youth cup player for the last three years they’re coming yes they’re coming and it may you can’t get there it’s not easy and some of these players having me when they’ve there be people around the country around the world that have been watching this game to have a look at these men City players some of the lead’s players as well could they be taken on loan go s were in the championship for a season we’ve seen players do that at Shield United from Manchester City last season he’s outstanding really do like the look of this player Simpson husy he’s good on the ball he’s got enough Pace defensively he reads the situation some of his Crossfield passing was good he came out with the ball at the right time as I said in the commentary there’s a difference between playing out from the back and coming out with the ball from the back sometimes you have to do that when the space is in front of you and he did it very well today along with Noble a player who’s been at Manchester City since he was 8 years old what a thrill for him shortly as Captain he’s pleased enough now but uh a few moments from now it’s going to be him with his hands on the cup and a word for the coach dad will be proud yeah I’d like to think that at Hal time he he probably said to them they had needed to up the 10 in the top third of the field they needed to get more players racing beyond the ball at times more players in the box when they’d worked the ball really well to get a cross in and they had to turn away cuz nobody was there but he’s done a very good job with this team he’s dead was a very good coach obviously likewise Ben Wilkinson came to the role in 2021 helping them to a run of three straight League titles they finished Runners up to Manchester United in that regard this time but it’s not a bad alternative prize is it this the fa youth cup Club who’ve lost a lot more finals than they have won now these boys can add their names to those of 1986 before they were even a figment of anyone’s imagination a team that included David White and Andy hinch Cliff to name a couple they beat man united in the final 2008 Manchester City beat Chelsea in the final a team that had Daniel Sturridge scoring goals for it Kieran trippier Ben me players who’ve played at a very high level for a very long time now and then most recently team I mentioned at the start the 2020 crew Cole Palmer Morgan Rogers James mcti players like that well now this current crop are going to be the fourth Manchester City class to get their hands on that cup our world class Academy now Manchester City they’ve spent so much money on it make sure that they get the right coaches in a way of playing way of treating their players and they expect the same from the players discipline game understanding to be at Manchester City You’ got to be tactically very very sound and be very good at learning that’s what some of these players or most of these players have been since their time with the academy at city and the other thing you have to be at Manchester City as a winner first team do it okay there’s a fair few medals in that camp one player we can’t really talk about is Grant the goalkeeper he already had a touch throughout the game no really decent save he had to make couple of shots went straight at him but he’s certainly uh going to be a good goalkeeper his dad certainly was yes a Qui night for him has not always been the case through this cup run there were some nervy moments and some important saves back to end of February against Tottenham City behind for a long long time stayed in it and then scored on 83 and 89 to Nick that quarterfinal otherwise they wouldn’t have been here at all strong Spurs side it’s 2-1 against reading as well although they did that with a couple of early goals and conceded one late he did extra time in a a big game to have early on in your run at last season’s winners West Ham United it All Began in December with a 2-n win win at Watford curious thing about it there’ve been narrow margins until [Music] this 6 months on from the start of the run you never knowwhere near as dominant against Bristol City in the semi-final as they were tonight in terms of possession Bristol City had better chances at some point in that game [Music] to feel a bit sorry for leads been a great cut run for them they’ve worked really hard particularly in that first half in the end well beaten a slightly disappointing evening for them and the coach did you have many Runners up medals in your career didn’t have any winners medals let alone Runners up medals no I was just thinking specifically about Runners up though I got cuz some players say that I’m not interested in them and they get them and might not even keep them or they give them to fans or they certainly don’t put them on Parade I don’t know whether whether that’s a thing I mean they they got to be proud of what they’ve done maybe not tonight but throughout the course of this cut run so to him the coach he’ll learn a lot he’ll be thinking overnight could I have changed things could I done things differently could we have had more of a go at Man City could we have put them under more pressure was I always going to allow them to dominate possession and then once they scored that first goal how are we going to get back into the game that’ll be going through his mind that’s what a coach does almost see it now very thoughtful he certainly done his CV a lot of good in this run to the final it’s almost medal time here at the etti had and plenty of stayed to see it he had an excellent game didn’t he B of one-onone time with the coach yeah I thought he was outstanding because the two cent halfes had a lot of the ball and you see that in a lot of games now Center halves have most of the ball but they aren’t very penetrative with it these two Center halves were when there was space in front of and they came out Poor football basics from Leeds United. Didn't mark Man C tight enough, gave them too much space. Didn't keep hold of the ball for any length of time, passed the ball backwards far to much inviting pressure, followed by the goalkeeper long balling it and giving it straight back to Man C. Didn't attack with confidence, hardly shot on goal. Leeds also looked sluggish and tired. This Man C team weren't that special but Leeds United made hard work of it.
