>> Judge Judy: Do you have a picture of your golf cart? >> She does. >> No. >> Judge Judy: No, no, no. I didn’t ask her. >> I didn’t, no. I did not. >> On the phone. >> Judge Judy: I… Listen to me. I’m going to put you out. Do you understand? >> Yes, ma’am. >> Judge Judy: I have a picture of the damage to the car. The damage to the car is on the side. If you have a picture of your golf cart, I’d like to take a look at it. >> I do not have it. >> Judge Judy: All right. >> …on the phone. >> She wants a picture of when the accident happened. >> Judge Judy: Now, this is a picture of your golf cart when the accident happened? >> Yes. >> Judge Judy: Right, and the damage to your golf cart is in the front. >> Yes. >> Judge Judy: And the damage to her… >> Yes. Sorry. >> Judge Judy: Put her out, please. >> No, please. >> Byrd: Okay. >> Judge Judy: Thank you. >> I have… >> Judge Judy: Out. >> I have something that might… >> Judge Judy: Out, out, out. >> But I figured it was going to happen. >> She told us to tell the truth. >> Yes. >> Judge Judy: Yes. Okay, Mr. Devost, your wife may want to make this a big deal. It’s not a big deal. You blew a stop sign. The front of your golf cart is damaged. The side of her car is damaged, and I don’t have to be a genius. I wasn’t good in math. I wasn’t good in physics. I wasn’t good in a lot of things that require you to use one of those trigonometry things. That was not my strong suit. Common sense is my strong suit. When there’s front damage to your car and side damage to her car, that means that you hit her, not she hit you, unless she slid into you sideways. [ Laughter ] >> Your Honor. >> Judge Judy: Do you have a… What? >> She said she saw me. She didn’t have time to brake. >> Judge Judy: Just a second. Who cares? You blew a stop sign. >> I did not. >> Judge Judy: Well, then you shouldn’t be driving a golf cart because she was coming down a straightaway. She was driving a car. She wasn’t landing a helicopter out of nowhere. She was driving a car, and if you stopped at a stop sign, she doesn’t come out of nowhere. She comes from a street. There’s no question that it’s your fault, and your wife can make excuses because I have a feeling when this happened, you acknowledged that it was your fault until the wife came. Just guessing. You said, "Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t see you," before she came. >> Yes, ma’am. I have a letter from the security guard stating that he admitted it. >> Judge Judy: Oh. May I see it, please? This is an incident report, not a letter. >> Well… >> Judge Judy: Well, Mr. Beardsley, who works at the gated community, Del Webb, where you live… >> Yes. >> Judge Judy: He wrote that he responded to a call of a golf cart versus a car, asked the golf cart driver what happened. That was you. "He stated he came up to a stop sign leaving the country club." Now, I didn’t ask you whether you had any liquid lunch when you left the country club because you said you weren’t playing golf that day. >> Yes. >> Judge Judy: So I assume you had lunch. Did you have anything to drink? >> No. >> Oh. >> No, your Honor. I’m sorry. >> Judge Judy: "Leaving the country club, stopped, looked both ways, and hit the front passenger side of the car driven by Ms. Sorenson. Driver of the golf cart, Michel Devost, said he didn’t see the car." That’s what the incident report says. >> Yes. >> Judge Judy: Okay, good. Can I see the damages to your car, please? Well, you have an estimate for $2,010. >> Yes, ma’am. >> Judge Judy: Judgment for the plaintiff. Thank you. We’re finished. >> Byrd: Parties are excused. You may step out. >> Well, I agreed with her decision today. Obviously, she made the right decision. >> We just lost, and I’m upset about it. That’s it. >> Yes, he admitted it twice at the scene before his wife showed up. >> She was speeding. She came across and hit me. >> Because they’re being cheap and think that since they’re old, they can get away with it. >> But that’s it, but there’s something wrong, and she’s wrong, but who’s going to get blamed for it?

  1. It's funny the wife didn't understand that her having a stop sign from another parking lot had nothing to do with her not having a stop sign where the accident occurred (meaning it'd be different if it was a four way stop, etc.). Also him saying "She said she saw me but couldn't stop in time" just meant he pulled out when he shouldn't have and she swerved to avoid being hit but couldn't do it in time… which has nothing to do with her being culpable but with her trying to rectify his bad driving by being defensive.

  2. Old people who drive are potentially danger for themselves or someone else, they didnt see clearly.

  3. I love the she had a stop sign down the street so it’s her fault logic lol. Go home Carl, you’re drunk and take Mrs. Wasn’t there but knows everything with you

  4. JJ face before she put her out was priceless.
Old lady " No, please I have something important to say."
Husben "I know that was next"
Old lady "She told us to tell the truth"
    😂😂😂

  6. The way all of the defendant's chest-out confidence disappeared when he answered whether or not he drank anything with lunch. It's always smart not to admit it, especially on national television, but it wasn't even a good ATTEMPT at a lie, lol.

Also, I really think people need to think their excuses through before they make a fool of themselves on National Television. The defendants are trying to suggest that the plaintiff ignored her stop sign and was driving SO FAST that in the couple seconds in took the defendant to drive off from his stop sign, she went from nowhere to be seen to directly in front of his golf cart. She would have had to be going 70-80mph+ for that to be the case. The damage would be worse, and he would probably be dead. What you're suggesting simply doesn't make logical or scientific sense. Please, just take responsibility for your actions. You're old enough to know better. People make mistakes, it's fine.

  7. My guess is the defendant (and his troublemaker wife) figured that since he was on a golf cart somehow that meant the driver of the car was responsible. When they realized that wouldn’t fly, suddenly it had to be that the plaintiff blew a stop sign that didn’t exist. Then after they lost it became that she must have been speeding

  8. I lived in Summerfield. It’s very close to The Villages which is a nice area. Full of retired people who drive golf carts everywhere. They all act like the defendant does.

  9. Now, usually Judge Judy will compare the Blue Book value of the car to what they're asking for, but this time she gave every penny. She was fed up. 😂😂

  10. The look JJ gave the defendant's wife before putting her out took me out 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  11. 🦋🩵One of the greatest experiences in the world is when you get baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, your sins are washed away! Nothing can compare, there is only one way to be baptized and that’s in his name, Jesus!

  12. The husband said when his wife got kicked out, that's what I figured would happen. He knows how she is. Lol
