there’s like valaki legendary and then the second tier down would be Kelly craft well I do kind of want to I think this is a perfect way to do a tri bet you know a three-way parlay Nelly Corda with with someone with a valaki potential I mean it’ll pay like a valaki top 20 or 10 or something what are you talking about you could do valaki top 20 top 10 top 10 with with a Nelly cter win yeah with uh with five people from the tournament we’re going to talk about in your second from Quil Hollow are you you’re there right now right yes I am in the media center um and there’s a lot of activity oh yeah not quite sure what it’s all about remember the time we did the show and Tommy Fleetwood was looking at you I’m wondering why we’re talking about him oh the players he was doing a he was doing a sky sports interview like 10 feet away from me and we start you started asking me questions about Tommy Tommy fle and I was kind of like talking into the mic real quietly like well Fleetwood yeah it’s uh it’s tight Quarters here obviously um all right so good call on pendra last week so we’re gonna you’re I think you’re four weeks in a row with a winner three weeks three weeks with the winner yeah now I’m actually gonna listen to you I’m gonna actually follow your plays this week all right um what uh you’re out there so what are you seeing about the course so um probably the biggest thing that people need to pay attention to is between last Wells Fargo and this one they um did a renovation to the golf course they Tommy would just walked by you no it um there’s a there’s something going on I don’t know this I’m not quite sure anyway okay okay if you have to evacuate I can carry the show but go ahead it it could it feels like an evacuation but I’m not really sure does it really no I don’t know is there someone behind what hang on one second hang on go ahead hang on yeah I’ll be yeah go ahead all right so I’ll carry Keith right now while he evacuates this is great content live um we talked about it on Monday but this course and Keith will talk about here in a second this course is is a brute it is uh are you okay I’m just gonna okay all right you getting kicked out all right so the uh the PGA Tour um has uh here we go here we go has advised um the property to clear by 3:30 because of dangerous weather coming through this evening including you uh the media center everyone’s packing up right now I need to I need to leave in 22 minutes we’re g we’re g to do this in 20 minutes so course go so the course um at the start of the week they they sent out a note to everyone and basically they said that there’s been a big renovation to the golf course since last year they’ve softened 12 greens and by softening that means like the swales and everything they didn’t make them pressure softer they made you know the humps and bumps softer but what has what that has done in reconstructing the greens is it’s made them very hard because anyone that’s been through a growin um you you know that at first once they lay all the grass and everything it the side is extremely hard until it attaches and kind of softens up they’ve also had a pretty dry spring now obviously we’re getting some sort of storm tonight but um for the most part this place is a brick everyone that’s come in The Press Room has said the greens are really bouncy they have a huge first bounce so at a at a place where you look at the four will it change tonight or no h i I can’t I can’t if if right now it’s it’s like an eight or a nine on the B bounce level it’s not going to get below like a six and a half seven it’s still going to be bouncy right so comp that to another course during this year like what what bounciness give it another example of another tournament oh it’d be just like Augusta National was when we first showed up you know wow still that bad well so here’s the thing like of the four major Strokes gain categories the fourth one that we were looking at was around the green and I think it doesn’t become like 50% greater but there’s going to be some scrambling involved which I think that over what we thought earlier in the week that’s going to change a couple things like Arnold Palmer level like that sort of bounciness no no no no it won’t be like that and in fact I think it’s maybe like a 10 15% increase in ARG but like you know overall but you know still putting’s number one right driving is number two approach is number three around the green is number four why is putting number one for you this week uh of the last 10 winners here at Quail Hollow which goes back 12 years they’ve gained an average of six and a half Strokes on the field with their flat stick you have to be able to putt good to win here you you have to be able to do it and now that they’ve softened 12 of The Greens um I I think that only emphasizes that skill even more because it means that good Putters can make even more putts so th this is a place where you got to be able to roll the rock it it what Windam Clark did here last year gaining nine out approach and gaining whatever was eight or eight in BO it was like nine on approach and seven with the putter um is exact exactly what you need to do in order to get around this place and you need to you need to have serious ball speed well look at Windam Clark Max hom Max hom Jason day Brian Haron great Putters right yeah oh yeah yeah and Rory and Rory when he’s comfortable somewhere he putts well tont flop leg absolutely yeah um okay so it’s a shame we can’t get more into Taylor Montgomery and what a solid choice that was last week but let’s move on what questions you have for me he was injured you monster um oh Double Down okay so so so the winner is not here uh oar is leaving um yeah and what was interesting about that he said I have soreness in my knee last time I checked we all have two knees so he just said my knee and that was it and then he was also interviewed by Scott Val Pelt on Sports Center he just said my knee and he said he’d be the next week but wit KN Scotty still hasn’t had the baby we got a lot going on before Sam Burns did uh we’ll get to him in a second the so so top level top owned with Oar out the steam is going to chafl Rory and Windham Clark you’re a Windham Clark guy I’m a wind Clark I’m a Clark guy and I’m off of Rory Rory’s press conference this morning he if we asked them 10 questions they asked him nine and a half questions about the pack the guy’s got a million things going on there’s a ton of controversy swirling around him you know Rory loves to win the week before major Rory’s won here three times this place is set up the last time he came out he won you know at Zurich like this thing was set up for him and now all this drama just dropped today about you know La a month ago he was gonna replace web Simpson now he’s not I I don’t know to me it seems like a lot of distractions for him him and Klay are fighting every time him and Klay get in the course together they one of them doesn’t play well like Riviera it was just a complete distraction the two don’t like each other they don’t and what’s what’s a bigger distraction is that kentley has the backing of one 15 time major winner in that room oh really oh yeah who do you think built this tour Yeah Tim finchum are you kidding me come on and and who and who spent the money and the equity that was built oh then so you know who’s in control in there and and he has his boys and of which the Iceman is one of them so so is Rory is Rory on the outs then with with Tigra I don’t know that he’s not on the outs because Rory’s a nice guy but um in that boardroom he doesn’t see eye to eye and they I think the common folk of the PGA Tour keep pushing Rory to get in there because he speaks for them but he gets in there and then people don’t want him to be in there and I think they’re quite they’re quite direct about all of it so I love I love Klay now like like you know it let’s let’s uh yeah I don’t know let’s have a fight ask me about golfers or the course ahead um all right so out of those three you’re is Windham Clark healthy do you believe he can repeat is he still a stud on this course this week yeah I mean five Signature Events this year he’s got a first a second and a third he’s second at the Players he’s still bom he’s bombing it further I mean last year he showed up he was 80th in the world and I touted him I had him at 75 to one right and he won and you know now a year later he’s won a US Open and a signature event and he’s ranked third in the world so the skill set’s still there and this guy is now even closer to the finish line so with no Scotty and no lwig I I think I think the door is wide open um what’s your what’s your comp course for this course on the on the tour uh Tori I think’s a good one I think Rivier is a good one obviously Augusta National is a good one and um I think kind of a Loosely correlated one would be caloa so okay the greens are the greens are kind of crazy but you can make putts so you can score here on the greens versus Augusta where you kind of can’t but you need to know where you’re hitting it you need this is a major championship venue you know like we have the PGA right here in a year um this is a big boy golf course and you need to be able to navigate things so on if a if a Tory comp you’re looking at uh Xander shafley probably the highest own player this week but hasn’t won in a long time doesn’t necessarily need to win at that price but top 10 uhhuh and when Xander came in the other day he’s aware he has seven top 10 very aware he’s like he’s like I need to close the deal I need to do this you know um and that that sense of urgency um is obviously better here than it is next week but he feels pressure here’s the mid tier here’s the steam coming out uh of a rationality it’s Justin Thomas is getting a tremendous amount of Bounce and I don’t know why I don’t know why either he’s his Press today said he he’s still working on things yeah new driver yeah I don’t I mean he’s still working on swing things and he’s EV again so like Rory 10 questions nine were about pack 10 questions for JT nine were about Louisville next week right yeah he he is completely focused on next week yeah backyard he’s working there’s no doubt he’s working on things for Valhalla for next week um he said it would be his dream to win there because it’s his home state he’s he’s already won the PGA twice he loves the PGA so I mean that’s like a huge deal to him um and again this is a perfect preview I mean this is a par 71 7,558 yards next week it’s par 71 7,609 yards I mean there couldn’t be a better setup for all this we’re looking at the same things driver um long iron approaches you know over 180 over 200 yards and of course you know who can capitalize on their birdie chances and putting so and cam cam Young’s the other one right uh yeah I just think he needs to be a better putter here correct right I do like cam young next week I think he’s very live next week but I think here you just need to be a better putter I think you could win with average ball striking and a great putter here um and that’s why that’s why I think hom is still in play this week oh yeah because H’s H’s whole season’s been the putter 100% yeah yeah I think H’s a play sure okay so then then you get into the very strange pricing of three players I love one of them you don’t speak too highly of sometimes because you don’t like his driver but sub 8K good ownership will Z okay Sam Burns okay and sunji M I mean there’s qu there’s huge question marks about all three of those guys okay Sam Burns driver lost him you’re gonna need the driver here uh the Putter and the rest of his accurate driver long driver just driver driver you need both you actually need both yeah I mean this is why Rory fits here so good because Rory’s the best driver in the world and that’s why it would have been that’s why it’s such a disappointment that you don’t get to see the kid come here and play because Oar would have been in places like that only Windham and Rory and a couple guys can get to you know was O wearing this week can we line on that it would have been him between him and Clark for sure you know although I’m not 100 perc sure it’s still Clark there’s a guy further down the board that I like in the 30s or high 20s 30s depending what board because um he’s just he’s got some building and some momentum you got to remember this a breakthrough place you know I think seven of the last 10 winners have had odds 40 to one or higher that won so like who’s that who’s that guy and it’s a signature event with only 70 guys so that probably skews it a little bit but it’s probably still like 30 and over right that that’s that someone’s gonna get it done here and um you know no one’s ever repeated I think wam Clark has all the tools and again with those two guys not being here I think that that raises an interesting part of his defense what’s your question for will Z then like just generally Health generally health and that he’s not a good enough putter here you need to be a good putter so like I I I really like guys like cam young and will Z who can really ball strike it but at Augusta National everybody’s a bad putter because it’s so severe here it’s it’s not so severe that you can’t actually make some putts so you know if you’re a good putter you can distance yourself here you know a good example of that is Denny mccarth I think he’s a super live play this week and the reason being he finished eighth last year with really average ball striking and he gained almost nine shots on the field with the putter does that put you on speed then oh God no stop okay thankfully no no spe’s not spe is like playing Russian roulette right now with more than one bullet in a five shooter you know like there’s only like one open cheaper that’s like the one that’s going to be good this week of the four major of the five major statistical categories it’s like okay three of them have bullets in them and they’re going to kill you right like there’s nothing you can do right he’s just it’s just too much right now and and um you know it’s like with havland you know there’s just like my only question about Willie Z really other than the putter is his health havland we have 10 questions spe we have 10 questions JT we have five questions this is a signature event right look at the history of the signature event so far this year the same guys keep popping up near the top of the leaderboard right so who’s up there all the time obviously Scotty right who’s another guy’s up there all the time Xander who’s another guy up there all the time Windam Clark who’s another guy that’s up there all the time I don’t know sahala over yeah in five Signature Events he’s got two seconds and a sixth and he was ninth at the Players technically not a signature event but we could call it that so that’s the sixth one right like sahith is super Live this week because he’s a great Putter and now his his regular ball striking is caught up to where he was with his short game in his putter is is that where is that your 30 to one is that that that’s okay yeah yeah I love I you know I just love him here for that this week you know is spits in that category too for you or no just hasn’t been as good as sah so if you’re gonna lay money on the table you got to go with the person that makes the most sense but but but Fitz around the time of the US Open or around the time of Heritage like if he was coming out of Heritage last year coming into this then yeah like Fitz for sure Fitz fits but um there’s still been you know he hasn’t been as good as some of these other signature guys and we almost need to classify events these days in two ways there’s your TPC Craig ranches right where you have whatever happens happens and then you have your Signature Events and what has been the theme of The Signature Events this year outside of Scotty right it’s been you know hyperbolic ball striking it’s been very opportunistic putting right and there’s been a lot of stars involved you know even Chris Kirk in my mind is still you know he is not he’s not a Jake nap or Taylor pendrith right Chris Kirk was a multiple time winner um I mean Chris Kirk is Live this week because a he’s a good putter B he’s a great wedge player and C he’s like fourth on the list for strokes gained off the T not that he’s Uber long but he’s super accurate so I love Chris KT but look at brenen Todd that explains Brennen Todd from last year top 10 right I mean a fantastic putter right same with Denny Denny top 10 last year really I mean like you can you can har is live I’m telling you that yeah sure 100% you know who else I like this week’s JT the postman Postman oh I I thought the other JT no no no no no Po’s great I mean you know he’s gonna he’s gonna dagger someone at that price I mean he’s at a great price he and Denny down there are just waiting they’re just wait go look up the last time the postman played or off the top of your head what did he finish at RBC do you remember uh 18 ready fifth okay fifth right so yeah like he in March he kind of went on a walkabout he started the year with a bunch of top 10 he ended the year with a bunch of top 10 then all of a sudden he showed up for a couple days at Augusta he obviously figured something out he went to Heritage and he just quietly threw up a fifth place and now he’s rolling into Carolina where he’s already won in Greensboro right at the Windam Championship you know he’s a Sea Island guy the mafia runs deep down here you know Davis Love it’s like a conduit between here and SE Island you know so like there’s no doubt that he’s he’s super I think he’s super Live this week uh yes JT Poston love um Harris English love so and I gotta get one in for you another trivia question for you this one’s this one and you know I love this guy going back to Bay Hill so you’ll guess it pretty easily but the comments right they’ll love this name there’s only one guy on tour right now that statistically is top 20 in approach and he’s top 20 in putting who is it and he won this year at a comp course that I already listed think closer and he’s French is it Pavone yes only guy on tour that’s top 20 if Pavone is terrible is a Mis price like at 6500 what what do I come on here for do I come on here for T Taylor Montgomery or do I come on here got you gotta stop that what do I what I’m gonna find you your hotel room next [Laughter] week give me that oh look at this Windam and what’s your deep play uh well again in that like lower middle tier where you see a lot of action and and need help in Signature Events because the field is so short um I like the postman and I like Denny um and then further down if you were going into the triple digits in my world um pavon makes a lot of sense to me I also think that um uh Brendan Todd we talked about that’s why I couldn’t think of his name and then the other one’s Austin ekro um yeah this this much like Augusta National you have to be a good ball Striker and that’s why I’m featuring these guys and that’s why I made kind of the I did the bit about bone is that like how many guys like if you’re if you’re top 20 in approach if you’re top 20 on any any one category on the PGA tour you are Elite right yeah like Scotty is top five and everything and he’s like Hall of Fame worthy right like but like if you’re top 20 and anything pavon is the only guy on tour that’s top 20 in approach and putting that makes you really really a viable play for almost anywhere right you know now maybe he doesn’t get to 30 birdies like last week but like in most cases you’re gonna you’re gonna be a very very good player to kind of roster because you’re just not going to get a lot of wild weeks you’re not going to get a lot of spe you know you’re not going to get a lot of unpredictability it’s It’s you know it’s it’s one of those things where you just kind of look at and go W this guy’s really good at just you know like a you know like a Matt coocher in his prime he’s just gonna be around you know and and I I just think it’s Unique that you know people say oh Pavone with the driver maybe it’s not long enough I was like the guy wanted Tory that’s like 9,000 yards long you know and you have to hit it in the Fairway so I I think that there’s some good comps there and and and that’s where I am further down in the buckets you know and in the and in the pricing categories you know these These are Signature Events we’re not going to come up with Kelly craft and Sammy valaki I mean there those those options just don’t exist right this is much more where where your expertise comes into play and you start to look at how you’re going to build out lineups and then throw these sub Five three% Guys in that you and I have researched and we think that are they make sense and Andy thinks also makes sense and then you you mix it up accordingly yeah I love Pavone uh Todd’s interesting Cam Davis is interesting to me I don’t know why I love Max homo this week I think he wins why what’s that oo for I just is you still working on stuff I mean he I just he’s got gotten by on his Putter and I know I’m I’m I’m running with Denny right who is primarily a Putter and a Scrambler and a short game guy but like Denny a couple weeks ago was second at Valero on a very hard golf course yeah you know a year ago Denny in a signature event finished second to Victor hin and he beat Scotty Sheffer by one shot at mirfield Village Denny McCarthy has no business being competitive on a a golf course like mirfield Village so if he can do it there and be that good of a ball Striker and and can score that well with his Potter he could be your breakthrough winner this week you know so it’s like those are the types of guys that you want to feature this week in your lineups because those are the guys again how do your lineups make points you need to score those are the guys that are gonna score right how many times can cam young score with that putter he’ll do it a bunch but like there’s never been a great golfer was the last name H in maxom this week oh there’s another one uh you’ve got 40 seconds to live and who is your biggest fade that’s popular uh Rory Rory X Thomas Windam Clark cam young Victor is Victor havin popular yes ish i ish I would fade him I think a lot of people are talking about Kurt kyama down the board I think that you know he’s great his ball striking has been great but I I I need to see some sort of scoring potential um and uh you know I’m just not on I’m not on the JT generation JT Geor guys right now people are talking about Ricky Fowler and history right folks history is rewriting itself this year pay attention to what is happening sahith ludvig Windam there are there are new guys coming up and they are taking care of business and these are the people that we need to lean on we cannot Thomas Justin Thomas is will be in 22% of the lineups and I think he’s the biggest free fade of all time havin I know Kyle jain’s not gonna be popular I was just trying to roll with a bit so keep you know can can can get out of here in good shape Kyle um he a Red Sox fan what do you expect what do you expect uh all right go go save yourself uh go finish I thought you were say go rangers
