oh how’s that for a stinger Now Tiger Woods was known for hitting a stinger Min Lee is also known for hitting a stinger especially today on tour so we’re going to teach you how to hit Stingers like minu Lee today the keys to hitting the Stinger well firstly minu Lee talks about ball position now you want the ball position to be close to your back foot so what I’ve done is I’ve just put a club obviously parallel and then for skill as well just so I know where to put that ball so if you’re at the range like I am now put your clubs down get the ball position right to start off with now I’ve got three iron in hand and all I’m going to do is make sure my hands are in front of the ball what you’re going to do from there is the back swing is going to be a little bit shorter and it’s going to be more of a a punch kind of follow through as well so you’re going to get a little shorter two a little kind of short punch follow through two so what that’s going to look like if you’re looking down the line is you’re going to want to feel like the club’s kind of coming out a little bit and your hand path is going to want to pull left this way cuz you’re going to get quite steep on it so what you’ll find and I find is my hands are just start a little bit forward I’ll feel like I’m taking it a little bit on the outside and then feel like I’m holding the face off through impact so something like that and that’s going to be perfect when you’re hitting shots into the wind now if I wanted to go a little bit lower and put it a little bit further almost on my left heel and really hit down harder and my hands will go a little bit further forward as well just from the ball position but again that’s going to be a little bit shorter on the back swing and then just accelerate through trying to keep the club face nice and square with my hands kind of exiting left there so like something like that so we’re just kind of aiming over that 50 50 yard board there so your stance is going to be that slightly bit open which allows your hands to kind of move left now you don’t want to kind of come over the top of it like that you want to feel like your hand are coming left so you see how the club face is kind of neutral there you’re just wanting to feel like you’re acting left but holding the face off there we go now that was really low but it went like an absolute bullet so that will that will chase up that will run if you want to maybe hit it a little bit higher then just put it a little bit further forward in your stance you can play around with it on the Range now once you kind of get comfortable doing it then it’s something you can maybe potentially take out on the Range so guys like Min Lee you’ll see them hitting off the te be kind of back of the stance and they’ll try and kind of come from the inside a little bit and hit like a roping a roping draw so I’m going to try and do that here something like that and they can just play that and play that slinging shot the whole way just turning it turning it around so if you got that dog leg from right to left and you’ve got that shot it’s a it’s a great shot to learn to play now if you want to work it from left to right you can it’s a harder shot now this one I’ll probably put more Central hands a little forward face Club face a little open but I’ll feel like I’m picking it up and coming across it something like that and then it just slowly starts tailing off so you can work it from left to right as well if you choose to do so but it’s a fun shot to play if you’re playing on courses where it’s predominantly windy it’s a great shot to have in the Arsenal but it’s also really fun just to hit on the Range as well so if you’re wanting to work on your Stingers obviously put a couple clubs down make sure you get your ball position in the right place and then from there like I was saying earlier just make sure hands are a little bit in front of the ball you’re just working on that shorter back swing slightly open stance and just allowing the club head to move through nice and quickly something like something like that I’ve been James bunker see you next time
