hello Chris Lee of sou Eastern 14 here to recap SEC baseball from the weekend we will focus mostly on games two and games three of each series and we’re going to review all of them we will do them in this order Tennessee and Florida Arkansas and Kentucky Vanderbilt in Georgia Alabama at Mississippi State Old Miss at Auburn South Carolina at Missouri and Texas S&M at LSU I’ve recapped the game G ones in another video so I’ll Focus mostly on game two and game three although I may touch here and there on games one in some series first reminder this brought to you by friends at vline your number one source for all your summer Sports this season from MLB golf the nbh excuse me the NBA and the NHL all the latest stats news and scores AV able to follow your favorite teams get the latest odds and lines including the latest game matchups player props and odds on just about every sport out there head to the website today use your mobile device to get in on the action batt on line where the game starts well we will start in Gainesville where Tennessee took two of three from Florida the story there I think and I will give you a one sentence recap for all these before I get into details I think the story was that Tennessee’s offense eventually wore Florida’s pitching down after tenness got the Friday night win Florida got game two by a 4-3 margin for Tennessee Drew beam six Innings four strikeouts three on runs uh the vs were in a little bit of a power drought that kind of ended in game three I’ll get to that in just a minute but Liam Peterson for Florida who has been up and down was up in this game uh he went four Innings no run seven strikeouts and fiser Jameson and Luke McNeely added good relief Colby Shelton and Brody Don hit home run runs Saturday different story Nate Sneed goes five scoreless for Tennessee out of the bullpen he’s that jumbo reliever who can really give you starter type Innings he went five scoreless in this one and vs found their power again chrisan Moore Blake Burke Hunter Insley all hit home runs in that game for Florida the pitching like I said it just kind of ran out of gas in the spot fiser Slater Russell all combined to allow 12 on runs and two innings I I think if you’re Florida the encouraging thing is that the pitching was pretty good until that game three so you know you got enough to get you through two games as that staff continues to get better but the EVS are a headache to pitch to as everybody knows and the dam finally burst in that game three which I think was a seven inning run rule game where Tennessee just got most of its runs there in those two innings anyway the vs moved to number one in D1 baseball this week we’ll do our power rankings and I’ll let you know how we settle that here when we get to that later on Monday all right Arkansas and Kentucky was probably the biggest series of the weekend in my mind there were some great series but if you had to say there’s one I really want to see what goes on I think this would have been it I think the story here was that kuy’s pitching rebounded from a couple of rough weekends and Arkansas outside of Hagen Smith that pitching staff looked more vulnerable than it has all year all right we talked about Friday when Hagen Smith dominated and Arkansas won that one 10 to three again you can see that in our Friday Standalone video which we did on Saturday morning on Saturday Kentucky wins that game 11-3 and this was the start of the the pitching Resurgence Dominic Neeman one of the starters who’d gotten hit hard lately went five and a third gave up two earn runs the offense did kind of Kentucky things it hit five doubles Nick Lopez who had a huge weekend the transfer I believe from Southern Cal he drove in five it was another one of those balanced Kentucky efforts and that’s what you get with kuy’s offense it’s not like Georgia where Charlie Condon hits a home run every weekend or or or the guys at A&M or Tennessee the the names differ from week to week and this weekend was kind of a Nick Lopez weekend uh for Kentucky it seemed like for Arkansas Brady tiger Gage wood Cody Frank all got hit tiger I feel like hasn’t pitched as well lately Hudson white of all people hit a home run for Arkansas which accounted for most of the Razer back’s offense and then in the big deciding game on Sunday Kentucky wins that one 7even to4 again starting pitching Mason Moore who’d not been as good lately he goes five innings two earn runs six strikeouts Johnny hmel their closer who struggled last weekend goes one scoreless to close amelon Peach Trey and Devin Burks each had home runs for Kentucky for Arkansas Mason Molina who’s been hurt came back he and will McIntyre who has been up and down lately had started to get it back a little bit but slipped again this weekend they combined to give up six earned runs in three and twoth thirds Innings Payton stoval arguably AR Arkansas’s best hitter Ben mclin may have a an argument there too but anyway he gets three hits in a home run that’s kind of the star for Arkansas Kentucky gets that win is up to number two in the RPI as a Monday morning Arkansas Falls to three in the RPI all right Vandy at Georgia this might have been the most astonishing series of the weekend maybe not astonishing if if you watched both these teams I I called this one ahead of time I thought this was a bad stylistic matchup for Vanderbilt mostly because well not mostly first of all Georgia can just flat out rake Vandable has trouble with teams that hit a lot of home runs that’s what Georgia is and it essentially it does a lot of that I mean it does at other places too but fley field the Bulldogs are just about unbeatable and the story here was these teams didn’t look like they belonged on the same field and Georgia also continued to find a little bit of pitching we’ll get to that in a minute Georgia wins the Friday opener 10 nothing and seven Innings Saturday uh Georgia wins that one 14 to4 that was a little concerning early for Georgia because Charlie Goldstein who’s missed some time left the game in I think the third inning with what looked like an arm injury and so they ended up throwing a couple of guys but the big one in this one Colton Smith Goes four Innings no one runs no runs period he’s been really good lately and and so i’ I’ve talked about how Georgia continues to find some pitching Colton Smith is one of those guys and he came up big in a spot Saturday where he had to enter the game unexpectedly the offense does what it does Charlie Conan hit another home run he hit one in every game this weekend Corey Collins hit a home run he got hit a bunch this weekend Colby branch and Trey Phelps who came back from injury and got stuck back in the DH hole hit a big two home run maybe the biggest two- run home run maybe the biggest hit of the weekend is Georgia really hit Carter Holton who’s a Georgia native it also hit Brennan cyber Sam lokei David horn um vanal did get a little bit of an offensive Resurgence in the middle of that game but just could not hang with Georgia Saturday made it more of a game but the story for Georgia again pitching it got it just enough in spots Zack Harris went four Innings gave up no runs Chandler Marsh who I think is their closer went one scoreless inning Conan another home run Dylan Goldstein a home run and for vandol the pitching Georgia did most of its damage against JD Thompson the starter who’s back from suspension two innings pitch five arm runs Luke G out of the bullpen went a third of an inning gave up four ear runs that’s kind of where Georgia won the game in the late Innings by getting those four runs in that spot and putting enough distance between it and Vanderbilt to win I I I’ve said this before and now you’re seeing it I thought Georgia was not in most people’s hosting mix but I’ve said Georgia’s not that far off from not just getting in the hosting mix uh but beginning in the National seed mix guess what Georgia sweeps fandy it is now five in the RPI I think there’s some tees that are sort of RPI trickers that’s not Georgia I think Georgia is legitimately a national seed worthy team I don’t know if that’s number eight if that’s number five uh but I think Georgia is in that top eight nationally I thought Georgia was underrated coming into the weekend and the Bulldogs certainly seem to prove that theory with flying colors all right Alabama Mississippi State the story here Mississippi State wins two of three um loses that final game game to to keep from sweeping Alabama but the story here I think Mississippi State continues to roll behind an offense it’s really hitting its stride as Alabama’s pitching and its depth in particular continues to be a concern uh State wins that Friday game 13-3 Saturday 8 to1 Mississippi State dangelo Saint just seven Innings five excuse me one run and Tyler Davis who’s pitched well out of the pin lately goes two scoreless uh David michawn and Logan kler are not at the top of Mississippi state’s power threats but both those guys got home runs so anyway that was some additional offense for Mississippi state that you don’t necessarily expect those guys are good hitters but the guys you think are going to carry the team or or under hin Dakota Jordan but it was the the other guys that supported that gave them a little bit of a power threat for Alabama zann Adams five innings four in runs Tyler Fay Austin and morrris both got hit and Alabama got Max Grant back he’s a transfer I think from kesis he’s not played in a while he got a home run in this one so I don’t know what his role is going forward he was a guy that I thought might be an everyday second baseman for them but uh he he did get a bomb in this one be interesting to see what his role is going forward because he hit another home run on Sunday as Alabama won 10 to5 Ben Hest for Alabama four Innings pitched one on run Mississippi State went back to Brooks auger who was really really good last weekend in getting a win against Vanderbilt uh this time it didn’t go as well he went two innings gave up four earn runs kler had another home run and Conor heack also hit one for Mississippi State which won the series is up to 18 in the RPI and squarely I think in that hosting conversation depending on what happens from here on out Old Miss at Auburn Old Miss wins two of three I think the story here Old Miss could have used a sweep but it got better pitching and at least mathematically put itself in position for an NCA bid depending on how it finishes the rebels 25 in the RPI as of Warren Nolan on Monday morning uh Saturday after Miss winds 117 on Friday Miss wins at one five to four the big story here miss had not gotten good pitching from much of anybody lately Josh Mallet who was so good for them two years ago but had not been very good this year he and Wes Mendes combined for five and a third scoreless to close Andrew Fischer their shortstop transfer from duke hit another home run as he did on Sunday when om Miss lost that one on a wild pitch in the ninth inning Auburn rallied for two in the eighth two in the ninth cam Tilly and Chase alup combined for six Innings of one ear run to let Auburn catch up Ike Irish and Weiss each hit home runs for Auburn which really needed to win I think it’s kind of immaterial at this point because Auburn’s 4 and 20 winning the league and it would take a a miracle fact I’m not sure it’s hardly mathematically possible for Auburn to get to Hoover but I think the bigger thing was Old Miss got enough offense and enough pitching to get a win at Auburn which it had to have if it was going to remain on even the fringes of NCA tournament conversations Old Miss in a take care business weekend did indeed take care of business South Carolina Missouri Carolina takes two of three the story here Carolina got a series win and that’s really all that mattered it got a 10-2 win on Friday I think I’ve already talked about that one Saturday Missouri wins at one8 to3 Conor rustad Brock Lucas combined for eight and two thirds of three earn runs ball after Javin pentol got one out in that one he’s been a guy that’s been out a little bit lately I think he’s their best starting arm but I don’t know what happened there if there was an injury but he exited the game in the first inning for South Carolina Eli Jones Matt Becker both got hit they’re two of their better pitchers they combined to give up seven ear runs and four Innings as Missouri prevailed in that one on Sunday South Carolina came back won that one nine to4 the big story there their Bullpen which has been a story for them at times in a good way Garrett Gainer gainy Conor McCreery Chris V combined for seven and two3 scoreless Petri MSA and D Dalton Reeves each at home home runs for Missouri Ryan Magi who’s one of their probably three or four better arms started gave up one earn run in four Innings but then Bryce Mayer came in and gave up six runs and three in a third that’s where that game was lost uh for Missouri Danny Corona I say keep watching him because he’s heating up the Wake Forest transfer keeps hitting some home runs here and there he he’s done that I feel like last two or three weeks he’s gotten a home run on the weekend uh he was a guy that Missouri got out of the portal was a starter at wake last year so as he continues to hit better that’s good news for Missouri all right I said Arkansas and Kentucky might have been the story of the weekend but it could also have been this one LSU did what nobody else did lately that stopped Texas A&M and it did it with pitching that has sneakily gotten better if you’ve been paying attention lless you after winning Friday night’s game six to4 won Saturdays by that same score Luke hulleman goes five innings three on runs I think the big story in this one though Christian little who has really struggled for LSU but started to find it a little bit of late went three and twoth thirds inning gave up one run against A&M that’s phenomenal um for LSU Tommy White and Jared Jones seems like those guys hit a couple homers every week they each homered in this game for A&M Justin lamin struggled again he has gone three Innings and three and runs in this one and A&M didn’t hit a home run and got just five hits in that Saturday loss now Sunday the Aggies found the bats again it was gr hovak Lavalette Jackson Appel Kaden Kent each homered in that game Chris Cortez went four in the third Innings we’ve talked about how nm’s got so many guys out of the bullpen they can really get it done Cortez was the guy this weekend to give them their biggest outing in that Sunday game for LSU the pitching’s been better but it kind of fell apart as they got more towards the bottom end of that pitching staff uh Nate Aken Hughes had started but didn’t do much um I think he went an inning in two thirs maybe didn’t give up a run but Dutton Justin lore thater herd cam Johnson will helmer’s all got hit in that one Aiden Moffett was really the one guy who thrw well in that one I think he went three and a third score ress uh but the bullpen kind of collaps for LSU but hey that’s what happens when you play A&M for three games eventually they are going to get to you and they got to them on Sunday anyway um LSU with a big big Series win over A&M n and 15 34th in the RPI I think if they did the tournament today LSU would be in I would certainly put the the Tigers in if it were up to me all right we’ll be back for power rankings this week we’ll do some previews for next week series we will recap next week’s games best way to get all that hit the Subscribe button hit the like button that helps our analytics I’m Chris Lee for South Eastern 14 presented by bet online

  1. Why would you consider Georgia a national seed, the only reason they didn't get swept in starkville is because they ejected 7 people out of the state lineup.
