going to make fun of that in a little bit but first let’s talk about tario Davis sheer calls me last or yesterday and he says you sitting down and I said oh I am sitting down and he says tario Davis just took his name out of the portal listen we Pro we had an idea that he was probably going to uh exit the portal or you know be a u OFA Wildcat but there’s still something to be said when it actually occurs Jason sheer this is awesome news for the Wildcat fan base and everybody we deserve this yeah I mean look there were there’s been word for a couple weeks that he was going to stay and Arizona felt real good about it and its teammates felt good about it but until it happens you just never know with the transfer portal right I mean I get a text from someone said don’t celebrate yet we still got two more hours of the portal like that’s how coaches think and uh it’s a big deal though I mean that not only is he good but other schools were coming at him uh and and he’s stayed with Arizona and and that’s a a big deal and Washington was one of those schools Texas USC and he wants to be an Arizona Wildcat he wants to be an Arizona Wildcat and this is it again we are going to get to the other villain in here very shortly but as far as on the field though there’s no way that you can really minimize what this means it’s one of the best defensive backs in the country this is one of the best quarterbacks in the country this is a first round type pick that any school in the country would have loved to have had and what I also like and I think this is a very very good uh sign for the Brent buron coaching staff he basically let him recruit him again he said that uh all right I’m gonna you know I’ll give you the spring we’ll see how it works and Brent Brennan said just give me that time and Brent Brennan succeeded in a big big way Gotta Give a lot of kudos to Brett Brennan and the staff as well and Dwayne Aina to quote Jason Shear the old white guy uh tario did things the right way I think had he dragged it out it would have gotten a little but he did he said look I’m going to enter the portal I’m going to keep my options open but I’m going through the spring with Arizona and I’m going to give him a chance and then when the spring is over I’m gonna make a decision and and that’s exactly what he did he gave Brent Brennan and staff a chance and they deserve credit because obviously they gave tario what he was looking for uh viney’s a good coach Brendan’s meshing and you know Les safo was on Twitter a couple times last night what guy L fa this is family like it’s just different and and we’ said this before look we don’t like the way that Jed left um but you have to credit him with the family atmosphere that Arizona had and that Brennan if anything will increase and pick up um that’s not going to change but yeah everyone involved deserves credit for how this whole situation was handled this thing played out exactly the way we hoped now there were some people that left obviously we will uh we will get to all of that but again there is no way to minimize this because corner is one of the spots on the team that Arizona definitely needs to uh definitely needs to up upgrade also also also going to give a bit of a shout out to homberto Lopez now because again I think he did a pretty good job here this he obviously took it personal Arizona wasn’t able to keep everybody but he did a pretty good job here he obviously had a big say in the niil I will give homberto Lopez some credit on the AC Wildcats podcast Jason cheer yeah he deserves said that 12 he thought he could get 12 to 18 starters from Arizona he got what he got bryck and Coleman right those are two guys that will start at Washington next year that’s isah Ward well no I mean starters in general and Isaiah Ward so we got three starters from Arizona right right that’s it okay cool awesome cool that is not what he thought and I very much like perusing some Washington message boards where they’re putting out things to the extent of well uh what’s your over on under over under on how many players are going to come to AR or come to Washington in the next uh week or so but this is obviously super super good news I don’t care that uh you know Michael Watkins is there some guy on Twitter was trying to say oh you lost Michael Watkins I do not care about that the only freshman you really care about is probably deand Williams at the end of the day Arizona has fifita for two years so I’m cool with it yeah you’re you’re cool with it yes but there is no way that Jed thought that he this was all he was going to get there is no way no way especially with the way that he sold things and I can’t tell you how many Washington fans were going at me saying oh yeah can’t t-mac’s gonna look good in purple next year or uh um what was another one oh yeah look at look at uh you know look I don’t I don’t talk negatively about 247 Publishers at all ever but it was clear it was clear that like the 247 site was getting their information from people close to the program and they were saying we’re going to get like at one point they said what’s the over under on starting lineman we get from Arizona let’s set it at two and a half yeah like and that was coming from Jed and it wasn’t going J it was coming from someone close to them like that was their mindset is the U ofas ID for the longest time he doesn’t really go on Twitter or Twitter a ton doesn’t say a ton but when he put out that tweet about the tampering and keeping your grimy Ms off of the UA roster until they’re in the portal I think that that took them back a little bit Javier Morales put something out as well they U fought back through other C uh situations and Shear I think they did very very good work we’re very happy because I think in this day and age I hate the mindset where somebody says oh when they go low we go high no when they go low we go low this is a a fishy fish world no I mean Arizona didn’t go low the coaching staff I I think that I I think that the media in a way got tired of it right like people ask why like the Arizona media is a little unique and the reason why is a it’s a it’s not the biggest you know City Town whatever but I I think the thing is Jud lied to us too right like Jud lied right to our faces and it’s not it’s not that he left no one’s mad that he left it’s how he left it’s the lying it’s the you know you tell me two days before in a text message you love Arizona it’s just it’s stuff like that and then let’s tell another let’s tell another one I got another one that’s really good one for you and I think this is a perfect example because I do not care the gloves are off boom they are off they have been thrown into the cabinet all right um I told you that uh threw up a guy who would clearly know that Johnny nanson was leaving and you messaged Jed and he said something to the effect of first I’ve heard of it not true Johnny nanson was gone within 24 hours he got mad at me because I wrote the article got mad at you exactly person that told me this the person that told me this writes their checks they he would he would well yeah and like Texas was like yeah we know for a fact he’s like the top guy and so I wrote the article and she like I don’t know why you would write that like because it’s it’s my job right and exactly he got upset about it it was very very funny but then when Jed can’t fight back Jed brings his agent into other stuff all right but this is very very good and I can tell you for a fact Johnny nanson uh Dwayne Aina not fans of Jed fish not fans of Jed fish I feel very comfortable in telling you both of or telling you all of that this is very very good though um sometimes Karma comes back he thought that when he was signing that little contract and you know watch this as I take as I pillage your entire roster then he goes off to us uh he goes off to the stinky part of the Northwest and he doesn’t bring hardly anybody with him it was very good you know what’s also interesting to me is they’re forgetting Arizona their portal efforts overall have not been good right like they’re not major names out of the portal I think what Jed’s gonna find is that when you’re competing with the big boys yeah Washington is no better than those schools they’re not plus you gota go live in Seattle yeah like your pitch is different when you’re competing against Alabama Michigan and those in Ohio State and those schools this this isn’t Arizona anymore you you could actually sell I don’t want to say it’s easier to sell but you know you’re going after a different type of player by the way you also you can go outside you can go outside seven days out of the week with uh by the way I’m not going to name who they are but you know who they are I had multiple National media people dm’ me saying listen man we said you know that you’re you’re a little bit of an interesting dude he said but this smelly rainy Seattle thing is one of the funniest things I’ve seen on Twitter this year and somebody from the U OFA told me it as well the movement is catching traction and we will uh we will we will continue this movement but also look at the spring game for a Washington spring game for Arizona guess what we were able to go outside I was able to take my lovely date Shear was able to go there and sit next to Brian Peterson and guess what it was good football weather did you see the weather for the next five days in Washington for this smelly and rainy smelly and Rain they put smelly in the weather report now that is the way it is that is the way it is sometimes Karma just comes back at you this is one of those opportunities and again we got to give the we got to give this UFA team a ton of shout out for the character that these guys have and tario Davis did this the right way I am telling you I totally agree with you I have no problem with the kid leagues like let’s use Duce Davis for example I’m bummed the deuce left I like deuce uh I hope Duce does well and I hope Washington loses every game but guess what they enter they entered the portal they left they didn’t say anything cool um kind of the same thing with Jonah Coleman although he did get one of those Tomahawk things before he left so but either way price sock thought that was really really crummy and Jed really coaching staff and I and I guarantee you Carol and Jed thought they had pedo in the back I got to give the kid a lot of credit here a lot of credit because there were a lot of forces that I think would have preferred Washington but I got to give PLO a lot of credit on this now but again just a great day I’ll be honest with you I don’t know what I was more excited by the tario Davis coming back or thinking about Jed fish and I get people are like oh you’re Petty move on from the Jed fish era I will not move on from the Jed petty you’re absolutely Petty we Absol I that’s okay to embrace pettiness at some point this is this is of those things and especially too this is I this is okay to say as well the reason that I let it go for a while but when when you’re also telling people a bunch of fibs about your contract extension and whatnot and about why you left to Washington so that you could help out your staff I know the dude that was in charge of all of that and it was all nonsense I’m very protective of this person to this day I will take no slander and it was all crap it was all nonsense and this whole thing about your promisory rights or whatever that was I think Brian Peterson put it out really well when he said something to the effect of no that’s not how it works dude you either have the money or you don’t you don’t have to get 70% of alumni to sign off on something that is not how this works Brian Peterson did very good work on this I think the moralist story is you mess with Dave you mess with Mike that’s it whether it’s secret whether it’s public if line we talked about the offensive line Moy savan Leif um and Josh baker I am I’m cool with more than cool with we need a tackle we need depths here I like PLO in theory but he’s also been hit or miss the tackle they read they got was uh Michael wuen from Oregon so that’s tackle depth really large large guy uh so but I yeah I think they need more I think they probably need one or two more offensive linemen um you know you just want depth on the offensive line when guys are injured you don’t want there to be a big drop off should something happen and um you know in in that regard you kind of need to take some risks you’re not going to go in the portal if you’re Arizona and get a a starting offensive Lin it’s just not gonna happen why can’t we do it though we’re Arizona uh well yeah I mean once they see you eat the apple things could change but like you know you’re not going and being like yeah we’re going to go uh in the portal and being like yeah we’re going to get a starting tackle just not how it works so you take a chance in a guy like wuin and if he reaches that potential he maybe has the ability to start Rick trimmer my guy Rick trimmer we got a good note gotta be careful here Mike we gotta be careful here yes I know I know I know I know John fina’s my guy um Roman Fina has been offered from the University or the University of South Point from sou point cathol and uh well good enough to start at Arizona I can’t see why he would want to go from UCLA starting multiple years to not starting at Arizona uh so I’m really curious where he winds up yeah and here’s the other thing too it’s very difficult John fin a very good guy but John Fina also it’s it’s difficult to bring somebody here who is the son of a legacy it becomes awkward if you’re like well there’s also no chance that you’re ever really gonna start here it’s just not now listen if he came to the coaching staff I have a pretty good ey I have no Insight on this but I think I’m right tell me if I’m wrong because I might be wrong but if he comes to the coaching staff and he says hey I don’t have any plans on ever starting here all I want to do is provide good depth for you you take but I mean he he’s literally like the worst pass Blocker in the nation according to PFF and I Bud Elliott didn’t name him because he won’t name names but Bud Elliot the other day was like you know the tackle Market is bad when people are clamoring for a tackle that started just because he started and not because he’s actually good I was actually right on my scouting report about him at high school was I not I think
