  1. HNIC isn’t the same without Bob Cole. As a Red Wings fan, loved hearing Bob Cole announce the games. May he RIP

  2. Bob, may you rest in peace. You put such excitement and passion into your play by play. You were unbiased no matter which team, just joy. I love what you said "you're there to enhance the game not steal it."

  3. He's forever connected to so many memories, friends and family gathered for playoff hockey with his masterful performance of what was taking place on the ice.

  4. With all due respect, but Mr. Cole is not in the same league as Mr. Bill Hewitt, who is the greatest of them all.

  5. Him and Foster Hewitt are the pinnacles of hockey broadcasting in my opinion. There are other great play-by-play broadcasters: Rick Jeanerette, Gary Thorne, Doc Emrick, maybe a handful of others. But they really captured the spirit of hockey.

  6. I believe that Bob Cole was a Canadian father figure. When he was calling a game fans saw him as someone to look up to and admire and we always will. May he RIP

  7. Bob Cole was amazing, I grew up thinking of him as the voice of hockey. The way he intensified what was happening on the ice, especially in the last minute, made the game so much more fun to watch. I'm not a Leafs fan and never have been, but I will never forget one of the OT calls Bob Cole made where Stumpy Thomas deked past a few players and scored the game winning goal for the Leafs. The way Cole called it, it was like he knew after the first move that Thomas was going to do something special at that moment. Bob Cole made the wow moments feel even more intense and so much more entertaining to watch.

  8. What a great tribute to a legendary broadcaster!!

Few possess the talent to tell a story – on the fly – in such a way that if you close your eyes, you can envision EVERYTHING that's going on – Bob Cole was such a guy!! His enthusiasm through every play – building as the game went on – perfection!

For over 40 years of my life, he was the voice of hockey – Hockey Night In Canada – every Saturday night…Oh Baby…RIP Bob!
