how you doing buddy this wasn’t a situation from your perspective that with some of the moves you guys have made moving on from a few veterans now trading Diggs does seem like maybe steps in that direction how do you reconcile that statement uh I would say it’s not September and I’m going to repeat that and every team is a new team every year is a new year are we better today probably not yeah rolling Buffalo has added wide receiver Curtis Samuel I’m grateful to be here I’m excited as well and I can’t wait to get this thing going there are reports that the bills have added veteran receiver Mac Hollands bills Mafia what’s up it’s time to get to work and do what we do best let’s put wins on tape Dion Dawkins is prank post was actually pretty funny what up buddy that’s Sean mcy man contract extension with left tackle Deon Dawkins with dayquan Jones tan Johnson with defensive end AJ EPA we have a really good recipe for Success here you know I would hope you know by now I’m going to turn over every stone I think we do have a lot of confidence in the other players like I’ll tell some of the other guys too like the rookies and stuff bro take some time off and then I I think I started like 2 weeks after you still working out with Eric right yeah molds yeah yeah are you guys ready put your hands up fast you can go head up good turn quick good come back to me again let’s go keep working snatch yourself like you there you go good we got back here and started like getting all the stuff in the house done and it was like I got to do something go go my f my f my f having the time to to be around family it’s a blessing man bills Mafia is is deep here in South Carolina like whenever we’re out to eat or at the store or whatever or just we want run across somebody like they’re from the Buffalo area like it’s it’s crazy cheeks I don’t take it for granted you know I try to enjoy every single day just being here and being present but you got to do your work and stuff to to stay in shape and you know try to get as healthy as possible and be in the best physical shape when you get back I’m confident in a the guys we have on the roster and I’m confident that we’ll continue to find pieces to add and that we’ll be ready to roll when it comes time in September [Music] guys ready we’re always looking for that speed explosiveness um at at various positions we need to know what they do well how we can accentuate their skill set and then just make sure we have a variety of things not just have all quick guys all big guys or all fast guys just trying to have as many options as we can for Joe to set the offense up [Music] you good you good no you good all right get proud today yeah it was that way last year remember where they were like we they were like right down below us I do like the N the they put the names on the back of these guys what’s up how you doing brother buddy good to see you man you doing all right yeah great hey good to see you man how’s the how’s this class running back uh just in general yeah oh the overall class is good there’s some depth yeah there’s some dep you guys weapons on this yeah yeah can I get AF of you yeah yeah how are you want to do it I think he’s going to be telling you what you should be doing yeah yeah that’s perfect I love it work but do you have the feeling like you could find a guy that really change your out here or no is it just like the process I don’t I think we have a good idea but this you know often times you don’t see guys in their system run more than three routes so you like to see what they can do you know what I mean they make them run a lot more routes if you have good tape it’s when you come out here and it’s not nobody K I don’t think media maybe keep it clear media yeah we’re automatically come on it is 6:21 a.m. and we are beating the traffic uh heading into La going to USC’s prot be a big big one today you really want to see how this class competes as a whole um you know this team in particular has multiple positions uh where guys uh will get drafted uh day one day two and day three and so you know Caleb Williams will be the highlight uh of this pro day uh not only being quarterback but just the caliber of talent that He is and and again just going back to what this quarterback draft class will mean for for a handful of clubs so but there’s still some some other good players on this roster this is really really the last time you’ll see these guys compete until they drafted so yeah I just want to see these guys come out here have a good day compete do well and also you know how they interact with their teammates um how are their teammates interact when they do something well you know those are all you know just little observations that you can take in and you know kind of add to the other sets of information that you have [Music] how you doing coach Terence gray Buffalo tret nice to meet you who you coach here team chap workel awesome stuff they need in their life coach off the field yes sir yes sir I am excited to see Caleb I’ll say that yeah he made us wait and he’s got the build up in anticipation we want to I would imagine he has a script um yeah go bills yes sir smooth man coming at us coming at us nice catch what what stands out to you about him um character wise like someone know every day saying we’re big on culture in Buffalo so you like culture ads I am going to get a private workout can’t give the location cuz you’re in the division now it’ll be in the continental US and uh that’s all I’m going to tell you Elliot just not have their seat belt on oh me give me a moment every year yeah you have majority of the team that’s the same right but you do have a decent amount of new additions and I think that that’s like the main point of offseason workouts and uh training campus to just find like what our team’s identity is and you know what we’re going to be you know this upcoming season and uh that goes with OTAs like you know Josh people over at his house and you know hanging out um getting to know each other more welcome to South Carolina they signed you know cins and uh Curtis I was like oh my goodness like for me it’s just another opportunity to um you know you got people who’ve played in the league um you know longer than I have it’s just another opportunity for me um to learn so much from guys have played the played the game longer than I have so I’m just super super excited that M yeah it’s m what an entrance does he always yeah yeah he’s a character man yeah it’s little chilly out here I don’t know oh it feels Buffalo you should feel right at home no I feel great I got the thick theral on though are you guys ready we going to get them warmed up here in a little bit they’ll be huffing and puffing during the warm up we’re going to do some movement we’re going to try to do some uh skill work basically just trying to get him more explosive uh to me this field work is just as important as the there you go right there the money I handed it off to him oh that hey Shakir you thought that was Josh I handed it off to you I a think it was going to be able to get it there oh no sir it was a hand off they go there you go good vertical oh boy that’s better that’s a about better rout how come you don’t train with glov um he can’t catch beer so you don’t need GL n uh I actually started that last well I started working on him last offseason uh started because I forgot my gloves like I didn’t bring any gloves from Buffalo to here so I was working out with no gloves but for me it feel like it like no gloves really exposes you you know it makes me work like really snatching the ball like that technique of snatching the ball more so when I have gloves on it makes me build confidence too soz when I get gloves on I know I’m snatching everything you know practicing with no gloves makes it a lot harder but that’s why probably had the highest catch rate because he worked his technique and he worked all off season without him players get so fixated on and the technolog is amazing that they have now glove wise but what do you do when it’s slick and snowy rainy now it’s going to benefit him because he does it without the gloves and doesn’t make a difference so you know who you know who his bill reminds me of but a heavier person identical Bill height wise he’s a little thicker Marvin Harrison he was like that Marvin had the slot receiver with the Tupper upper bill was bigger so he reminds me of him but he’s a little bit thiger that’s more of a comparison I cuz I played in Pro Marvel and we got drafted together so I spent a lot of time so that build is identical but secure is a little bit thicker wow it’s yeah mhm yeah all right baby let three on the other side yeah let’s do [Music] it whatever dogy what you been on chilling man just working out hanging out at the house Sor want to say what’s up to Taylor hi what up you still working out with uh uh ER is Eric right yeah mold yeah yeah yeah I’ve been uh I started bro I didn’t even I I’m so like I’ll tell some of the other guys too like the rookies and stuff I told him I was like bro take some time off and then I I think I started like two weeks after like I don’t know man I got I got bored like I was just sitting there and I was like I don’t know what to do that’s how I was like I I took like a week off and then we got back here and started like getting all the stuff in the house done and it was like I got to do something like if I’m not if I’m not training nothing I swear like I’m just like wasting my life away we just had to freaking um we had to our lawn looks like crap so every all the everybody else like all our neighbors and stuff their yard is like bright green grass and ours is like dirt patches dead and Patch Yeah man so we had like the dude uh a gardener like fertilizer or whatever fertilizer right I think so fertilize it and we have to like water it every other day yeah I had to go to uh I went to Home Depot like three times already about like pounds of bags of fertilizer been spraying it out oh you’ve been doing it bro I’ve been doing it yeah I’ve been I’ve been doing I got like a whole little thing I like push and you got to like open it up for to like oh snap I can’t do it bro I I don’t I mean I wouldn’t even know where to start you just looked it up on Google how to do it no I just went to Home Depot bro I started grabbing bags it’s it’s like this like turf builder stuff uh it basically like kills the weeds and then supposed to help like help all the other stuff grow so I’ll see you in couple weeks May a little longer than that sounds good bro talk to you all right brother peace all right see y all right brother the piece I’ve been training hard and you know I’ve been doing my part to to be in the best physical shape as possible and you know I think I think that carries over to to the field and you know just the overall mindset of of the team um you know when you see got everybody coming back in in shape and ready to go I think there’s a there’s an understanding of of the standard and of how you know how we want to we want to play this year you know we’re losing guys that have have been there for a really long time um captains of the team for a really long time and you know I think there’s two ways to look at it you know you you kind of have a new opportunity to try to step in and you know be that that piece uh that’s that’s that’s leaving and then you know obviously taking the other other side of it was taking you know what you’ve learned from from those guys uh so sitting in film rooms with you know Trey white and and Po and Micah and you know those type of guys and being able to learn how they how they lead and how they interact with guys and you know just super super um you know thankful to to be be able to be around them and see you know greatness firsthand what’s up what’s up so this is Jaylen uh it’s Chris over there yeah so we’ve been what seven yeah years seven years uh we got to Baylor in 2017 and then we were roommates for our last three years so literally doing everything together um then ended up training together this this offseason so he’s always he’s always the one trying to push me to to keep doing more he’s a little faster a little bit more better in shape so I got to stay up with him after the games you know I would call him or he would call me just like checking in seeing how things went um you know who we had on next for the schedule and you know sometime I think we were playing we were playing behind them a lot so I’ll call him trying to get a little scouting report on you know teams that they had already played or what he thought so hit him sometimes you know get a couple tips he give me a couple layups got uh we got three right here just three they keep me feeling young at heart just to be with some football football dudes and they’re they’re both just really cool to train they work really hard they feed off each other um this this is the reason why I want strength I say go big drive up try to that go my my my guys once we get done with this we’ll grab a SI I’ll set up the ball Gar so we’ll get ready to go [Music] put them down grab them again here we go what was this 2 hours yeah right about yeah so it’s every day like this uh yeah pretty much that’s what it’s been uh pretty much the whole offseason so the Auto game all right bro today y all right Chris all right yo hey Chris we’re here at the apanese grocy stop okay patoa Japanese grocery store um I was a military baby so I was in Japan for about 6 years when I was younger and uh sometimes we’ll try it’s rare um but we’ll run into a Japanese store and it’s hard to find like stuff that I actually remember cuz I was so young so we were in Disney World and went to Epcot in Japan they had their little store and me and my older brother were like we look like children in there like we were going crazy cuz they had so many stuff that we remembered from our childhood so kind of hoping for the same reaction here but either way have some fun hello hello I like starting with the drinks first my older brother’s favorite a here we go oh this is The Sweet Spot it’s like rock candy really good best way to describe it is like dry ice cream I know it doesn’t sound too good you don’t want to miss anything you want to make sure you look really close you know so good it’s funny because being American when you lived in Japan you don’t really know what anything says when I was there uh my Japanese was okay like I couldn’t really put together full attendance but if I was talking to someone I could somewhat understand oh wait I almost missed it a sof super soft High Che with rice paper on the outside and you eat the whole thing it’s pretty good we definitely got this these are goated these I’m telling you these are the best cuz I remember you telling me that when you’d get sweets and snacks it was when you and your brother would go to the gas station and load up on the snack yeah we go to gas station they had a lot of stuff oh there was a little store so we lived on base lived on American base and uh there was um a store called mamans that was like right around the corner and it had all this Japanese candy in it I actually do remember these too it’s literally like little balls of Wasabi like they’re super hot but like they’re like crunchy stop stop so you’ll notice sailor has a lot of dad jokes that she just fires fires away what did Sushi a say to Sushi Wasabi that’s a good one I think we’re good I think we’re solid thank you so [Music] much I was I was going to hit y’all with some you know I said I didn’t know I don’t remember much Japanese language start spitting it out I got Gaz say thank you so much and I was waiting to say it but she said it first so tell us a little bit about Penny penny is a a little run golden retriever 45 lbs almost 2 years old a little ball of energy she doesn’t know when to stop playing once you start not familiar with cameras so she but she’s awesome I can throw this ball all day I don’t know if she really gets fetch she might bring it back working on it with her yeah she might bring it back she might not she might bring it to one of [Music] y’all off stop stop yeah she jumps on everybody yeah I kind of want her to do it now she’ll get like the Zoomies and she’ll just start like wi Sprints like just running in circles and like she just won’t she’ll like do like 20 laps but she’s cheeky like she knows what she’s doing is wrong and then she’ll run away from you while she does it like the rocks out here she’ll grab onto the Rock and we see her from inside so I come out and I’m like penny come here and she knows and that’s when she starts the Zoomies when she does something wrong yeah you can’t really have a bad day when you got a dog like this no matter what happens you come home and she doesn’t care what mood you’re in she’s going to jump on you she’s a little cuddler though like if you sit there and pet her and she’ll calm down she’ll lay next to you all day we got her during OTAs and then um yeah she’s been the one running the show ever since we got her yeah we can get some stuff uh I’ll cook you’re going to cook n no shot he’s not touched that thing [Music] ever so I asked KO what he wanted for dinner and he said kebabs because during the Super Bowl I made kebabs for everyone here but it just takes a long time to put it on the S so we’re just throwing it all together we have some fillets cut up with the meat Church seasoning and then I have red onions and green and red bell peppers I’ve always been a well done steak kind of guy and I get judged a lot her dad judges me the most good old Jeffy the internet can come get you for this you’re a well done steak guy not anymore I used to be growing up I don’t know that I didn’t even know there was other ways to get a steak done till like high school like I don’t know like when steak was made at home it was made well done well whenever we’re at restaurants and they ask you how want it cooked he always looks at me and he goes how do I want it cooked cuz now it’s uh you like medium medium well so I went down a step right I could do medium what’s below medium medium rare n i I don’t want to see if I cut into the steak and that red blood comes out a little bit nope I’ll throw it away you know I’m working on it though all done or does it look does it look good we have anybody that wants to be a a taste tester about penny [Music] it’s the ultimate test mhm yeah that’s it that might have been a really good piece but that was really good it was the chef yeah it could have been I cut it that counts I get some points for that we got some steak made by the infamous sailor Shakir shout out Terrell from Taylor andell Taylor and Terrell for our one year anniversary that was about a week a week go now they sent us some beautiful flowers wait TV yeah yeah I’m my dog right there yeah would you say he’s like one of your best friends on the team yeah definitely definitely TB is uh Honestly though I’m never around him that much during the day cuz we two separate like I’m in offens meting defensive meetings but she got really close with um his girlfriend Taylor kicking outside of football and shoot now usually when we golf in Buffalo it’s with them too if go yeah go out to eat in Buffalo it’s with them too um so yeah we we got pretty close over the last year year or two you kind of go through everything together like they just got a house we just got this house like everything we’re kind of doing at the same time so it’s kind of nice to have someone that you like ask oh what are you doing now yeah learning everything of how to do the NFL it was nice having a buddy sailor and Taylor yeah what’s going on welcome in it’s my girlfriend Taylor this is our home you know we just got it built uh towards the end of the season and you know been uh moved in now for a couple months yeah come on take a look in our hometown of leaport Texas MTV Welcome to My [Laughter] Crib this is it man this is where we stay in the offseason you got the living room TV got NBA going on kitchen area do a lot of cooking try to stay eating as as clean as possible who does the cooking uh not me right here clean with these cookies right here heading upstairs we’ve got our game room do you guys game against each other we play fortnite together yeah we play fortnite together play against each other a little bit I wouldn’t say Taylor’s very competitive so I would win most of the games and she doesn’t care and so it works out pretty well where your drop in fortnite me I take the first drop possible so as soon as the bus is counting down I’m I’m jumping off you know something that we had just talk to khil and even talking to our families and stuff just having our own space is really a dream come true something that you know to have the opportunity to do it and be so close to our families and be back in our hometown where we grew up it’s it’s it’s a blessing what’s your guys kind of offseason lifestyle you’re looking at it yeah this is what we do yeah not much um you know working out obviously in the mornings and training and stuff coming home relaxing you know hanging out watching TV how long have we been watching gray we literally started watching gry’s Anatomy we started it a long time ago and then we kind of stopped for a while and then picked it back up again when we got back here from Buffalo but before that we were watching the Marvel movies we watched all those yeah that took a long time pretty much all season gry’s Anatomy that’s like our that’s our thing that we’re watching right now I don’t know I don’t know why how it started probably me yeah I think she chose it it’s been good man the offseason offseason’s nice you got to do your work and stuff to to stay in shape and you know try to get as healthy as possible and be in the best physical shape when you get back but having the time to to be around family it’s a blessing man like I don’t I don’t take it for granted and you know I try to enjoy every every single day just just being here and being being [Music] present what’s happening whaty you’re a superstar now good to see you man all growed up come on in so what was your favorite memory of laort high school I would saying man just just playing Under The Lights Fridays it’s something that I I grew up wanting to do you know I came to all the games watched every single game since I was 6 years old you know having the opportunity to do that and you know to try to help the team win and you know bring the community get together and do all that type stuff man it was it was crazy and you know something that I I didn’t want to do since I was a little kid yeah miss Monica come here how you doing how are you baby I’m doing good it’s so good to see you you too yes ma’am what are you up to you know showing them the offseason kind of what we go through uh cool they want to come see the high school and see everybody so oh it’s good to see you see you too man whatever you play everybody always sits around the TV we coaches call each other you know look at Terrell everybody takes everybody takes credit for Terrell you know but I get all the credit since I’m doing the interview tell me Well you you made me a Bills fan you made me a Bills fan I always watch the Bills tell me about Josh Al you been to his house I’ve been to his house yeah it’s big it’s big big that’s a big dude man he’s huge I’m going show y’all this is our uh basketball arena it’s something to see for a high school if you guys ever been to a high school gym look like this yeah this is this is crazy it ain’t nothing like what what it used to be no no no so I’m going to tell y’all another story I’m a Storyteller so when he was a freshman The Freshman don’t work out with the varsity he was over there freshman workouts and the defensive coordinator and I we was both over there looking and like man we think we might need this kid to play varsity and so we get to to arguing about what’s he going to play running back linebacker and man we moved him over there and from you started day one in the history of leport there’s been five freshman that have played as freshman and he was one of them we knew he was phenomenal Talent he was always like coach what do I need to do what I need to get bigger what I need to get faster what I need to do I want to play I want to play college ball and I remember you know sitting down with him sitting down with his mom just saying hey let me tell you something he’s about to blow up and they like what do you mean what do you mean you going to have some folks knocking on your door hey we just glad that God bless you man sir and make you make the port PR I appreciate that I love doing this I love doing this hey I’ve been saying I’m going to give me a podcast I don’t know what the theme is going to be yet you are [Music] back like we never left huh good to be back baby big snow important for Duty in case you’ve been living under a rock uh the bills have traded wide receivers Stefan digs to the Houston Texans everybody’s going to have their own take on it Steph’s a great player really enjoyed our time together definitely hard to part ways with a guy that’s been very instrumental in our success here over the last four years won a lot of games and he he was a huge factor in winning those games we wish him well I think like anything change is not always bad sometimes your team has to evolve there is a lot of opportunity as an offense and and really as a team to become a new version of the Buffalo Bills the message for us right now is belief in in who we are everything starts with belief to come together as a team over the course of OTAs is what we’re doing right now and within the system anybody can get the ball at any given time and these guys are very excited for that they’re working extremely hard you don’t just hire leaders or bring in leaders you’re developing leaders the whole time leadership looks like a lot of different things you wear many hats in this building it’s something that I’ve put a lot of effort and a lot of time into this offseason Was preparing to take that next step I think we’re using this time right now to find what does make these guys tick what is their reason for playing this game try to utilize that to help push them become the best that they can be those are the things we can control right now it’s just being present putting in the work that’s really the true substance of what leads to success I’m excited about where we’re at and I’m excited about the draft next week
