one of the great player caddy combinations in the game of golf it was Jim furick of course and Mike fluff cow in the duo had been together for 25 years in per a golf week report the two have parted ways amicably the report says that fluff will be taking the back permanently now of CT pan take a look at this Mike fluff Cowen notable players that he has cadd for and it is an impressive lot indeed especially that one right in the middle in the way that the career of Tiger Wood started out with fluff on the bag and so with more on this story we welcome in Rex hogard so Rex I guess the place to start with this is how do you start normally a split between a player and a caddy even if they say everything is fine in public usually isn’t behind the scenes what’s behind the scenes in this one I don’t think there’s anything behind the scenes actually Maddie and as you pointed out this is really an end of an era very rarely do you have a player caddy combination last for a quarter Century as you just pointed out their first tournament together was the 1999 Masters to give you an idea of how lasting that relationship was but I had a chance to catch up with Mike Cowan fluff after his round today with CT pan and he said it was very much Jim idea he said they were talking earlier this spring at a PJ tour Champions event in California and he said Jim didn’t really give him a choice he said either you take the job with CT pan I’m going going to fire you now of course he was joking he said with a smile on his face but the point was Jim has been injured this year hasn’t played a lot on the senior tour and he knows the opportunity that CT pan provides for fluff out here on the PGA tour so it was very much a a good split as you pointed out am Cole I think the one of the things to point out when I asked fluff what was the highlight of your career together 25 years together and he went to a couple of different things obviously they have two sub 60 rounds on the PGA tour together that’s pretty special they won a FedEx Cup together under some very weird circumstances if you remember that year but he said by and large he had to go back to that US Open that they won together at Olympia Fields he said nothing will ever top that very cool report indeed the only thing you have to think about with fluff though now Rex he’s a man in his upper 7s and he’ll have even more occasion to be carrying that very heavy bag around this time for CT pan now today tea times were pushed back an hour due to the weather what are you hearing about the forecast moving forward yeah actually they got a little lucky this morning when we did the weather report yesterday it looked like the morning wave could get washed out they were expecting up to maybe an inch and a half of rain I ended up talking with the tour meteorologist he said it was only about. n in that fell early this morning so they were able to get play started about an hour late they are playing the ball up lift clean in place cuz they are worried about some mud balls but it looks like the rest of the day is going to be okay but the rest of the week does not tomorrow there’s about a 40% chance of thunderstorms in the morning again as another another cold front comes through and those chances only escalate during the weekend it’s 50% chance of thunderstorms on Saturday and then 60 on Sunday with wind gust to 30 mph so certainly the weather issues that we’ve been worried about all week long are not going to let up well I’m sure you’re going to keep us up to speed and all that with your excellent work as always thank you very much for your report

Can’t beat the irony: the great Jim Furyk doesn’t want to hold the legend of fluff back.
Beautiful story.
IMO CT benefits the most here.
