0 for 10 0 of six from three for Klay Thompson in this one and then later in the third the Kings already looking to extend their lead to monodus finds Keon Ellis who’s really had himself Ellis what a night for him yeah he has been impressive the Kings Kean Murray we said he doesn’t miss much didn’t miss there yeah all cash I mean this was the first time watching this game where I’m like okay the Kings they weren’t the Kings last night they were the ks they were the kangs last night so botus gets the rebound throws it down with authority the Warriors fans in the building not too thrilled so the Sacramento Kings advance to another play in game live to fight another day they light the beam and the questions start going especially as Klay Thompson takes one more look around will he be with the team next year Draymond has some thoughts I got no reason to go into it like oh man they’re not going to do right by Kay they did right by me uh they’ve done right by Steph they’ve done right by all of us you know Klay got Klay TOS ACL um they paid him $160 million so I have no reason to think that our ownership group aren’t going to take care of us so tonight was tough to um you know to see him struggle uh but as I told the guys in there that you know it’s all it’s all part of being an athlete and being an NBA player I mean there’s uh there’s incredible highs and and really tough lows and this was a nothing tough one uh for clay just and for the whole team uh can never see myself you know not with those two guys it’s I understand this league changes and there’s so many things that go into it and we’re not going to play forever but you know we’ve uh experienced so much together and the end of the day like again I know they want to win I know I want to win and that’s all I we that’s all I’m uh that’s all I’m worried about so I think there are two important things that Steph said there that he wants to win and he can’t imagine doing it without these guys and that’s something that Steph Curry has told me so many times over the years as I’ve sat down with him in different interviews and it’s this is hard CH because it just feels like there’s so many could have should a w as when it comes down to the season but do you think it’s possible W when you look at all the roster moves that they have at their availability at their disposal here to both keep this group together and to win at the level Steph is talking about I think it’s going to be really really difficult for this to be a championship team again but can this be a team that can get in the playoffs maybe win round sure now you can say hey the standards different in Golden State well welcome to the reality of the NBA and Steve KR said it last night these things don’t go on forever I think the questions for Golden State are going to be uh resigning Klay Thompson at what number uh how many years on a contract and then he can measure what they’re willing to do off of of what’s out there in the marketplace and decide and how much of their infrastructure of their draft picks of their young players are they willing to put into a trade to maybe go get a a more established younger say maybe borderline All-Star player maybe an All-Star player who’s available and to try to maximize this window with Steph Curry that really compromises them long term these are difficult questions I mean go back to when remot schelbert and I reported about their interest in LeBron James uh prior to the trade deadline they never talked players between the Lakers and the Warriors but I think perhaps what Golden State would have offered and how much they would have been willing to put in a deal versus what the Lakers would have asked for I think it may have been two very different things and even if the Warriors strike it rich on all these moves they’re not doing this in a vacuum Oklahoma City is not going anywhere Minnesota doesn’t look like the Ant-Man is about 12 years old he’s not going anywhere not to mention the Grizzlies are coming back come back with J you have Victor not and Denver I didn’t even start with Denver all right so so even you know look I’m old I’m even older than wge and I’ve seen all these things come to an end and when Steve talked about that I was there when Steve’s run came to an end as a player because I was there to watch The Magic Johnson Lakers after winning five not four five after seeing Jordan’s teams win six nobody thought they were going to see Scotti pipping on Portland and then Houston but that’s what happened there’s a whole award-winning series that shook the athletic World The Last Dance there’s a reason you know who was dancing on that team Steve Kerr he knows this he knows how this goes no I don’t see them coming back running it back and winning cuz they’re not good enough anymore it’s okay like this is not an insult all of these things in in in a sport with a with a cap come to an end the Warriors look very much like this is the end I I feel bad Malik I thought about you I was going to text you last night let me leave let me leave the captain alone right now because I know it’s a tough night the captain is my dad and and he he’s struggling a little bit well I as as one would expect but do I do I see them coming coming back with this group and and and contending no yeah this is the moment and I know you said you’ve seen different iterations of dynasties ending you could just see it and hear it from the podium right like it feels like even though they may not be saying it the emotions clay staying on the court I mean Draymond saying taking care of us that’s not necessarily the mindset of a team that wins right it’s got to be taking care of Steph who is protecting his prime I know what he meant but I do feel like it is yeah and this is a new economic climate a new salary cap that’s built for for teams to build through draft picks and not teams like Golden State to run up luxury tax not to mention and as you said the rest of the West is coming not just the teams that are in it now but the teams that will be there next year the Warriors they may need more than just a bucket as we say hello to our front office Insider Bobby marks Bobby after golden state was eliminated from postseason contention by the Sacramento Kings there are so many questions surrounding this franchise but I’m looking at Chris Paul Klay Thompson and Draymond Green more specifically you’ve been in these front offices making these decisions how should the Warriors move forward here yeah Malik Joe lob has been on the record right he said he is not he’s willing to go under that luxury tax threshold which is at 171 million and when you look at the Warriors right now 174 million in payroll it certainly starts with Chris Paul he’s got a $30 million contract for next season a June 28th guarantee date and when you do the math to keep Klay Thompson Chris Paul is likely going to be the odd man out and that leads to the future of Klay Thompson here an unrestricted free agent only the second time in his career eligible for 4 years $221 million up until June 30th that likely is not going to happen I think the magic number to get clayback is somewhere in that 25 to $30 million number but there are Shooters out there Orlando Oklahoma City Philadelphia all have cap space to go out and sign him outright and then finally the third what happens with Draymond Green still has over $75 million left on his contract if golden state is looking to shake up that roster it certainly would start with a player like Draymond Green or perhaps a player like Andrew Wiggins also Bobby thank you for breaking that down always making it so digestible for us to understand what is going on in Golden State CH I can’t believe I’m saying this no matter what happens 2 through 15 right because it used to be it was kind of four through 15 the top three were cemented but really right now we’re just talking about Steph Curry how does his future start to be impacted here well Big Picture This is the most important off season for the Golden State Warriors in about a decade and I want to break it down through the sense of all of the top teams in the NBA let’s say about 80% of them they have two stars they have they might have like a superstar but they also have another allar think about the Boston Celtics the Nuggets even the Bucks in some ways Timberwolves Dallas see how they have emerged the Clippers overall that’s something that the Sacramento Kings exposed in the winner all because they blitzed Steph more than any other team they have the fourth highest game single game Blitz rates which is trapping stuff and they didn’t have an answer for it and I feel like that’s been the story of the Golden State Warriors this entire season who will step up who will emerge as the next guy up we thought two years ago it was probably going to be maybe Andrew Wiggins on the perimeter right now you have Jonathan kaminga having good games Mo Moses Moody having good games but we still don’t feel bought in that those guys are going to be the guy for Steph to maximize their Prime and so we’ve seen it over the course of the entire season they’ve been exposed trying to find another person without staff now the question is in the off season how do you address that weakness the ways you do draft trade I mean there’s not going to have any money even if they get below the tax that Joe lob is talking about the interesting thing to me is now the speculation is going to turn to Steph Curry yeah and people are going to say oh can Steph Curry could say he wants to be somewhere else look I spent a lot of time the last 10 years going to games in Golden State going to sit with Steph Curry oh when you said games I thought you meant you meant golf no well that too Cur few of those times Steph Curry to me right there historically and you you grew up there it’s Joe monana and Steph Curry and Joe monana was never engaged in that community in my opinion the way Steph Curry is the way Steph Curry is looked at and dependent on the way he has become an emotional Touchstone of that Community like no other athlete I have ever seen yes I’m including Joe Montana and and Jerry Rice Rice might even be be second I don’t see Steph Curry going anywhere do you no I do not and we have to I think take him also at face value because he said he wants to be here he wants to win here and he wants to win with those guys [Music]

  1. Thank god the tax appron came in lol these frauds can't just pay their way to the top welcome to the reality of every other NBA team

  2. 3 years – 39 mil. But honestly, think they should just turn the page. Klay trying to hard to be what he used to be and he can't be. It's too much of a weight on him.

  3. Yeah they can Win if no more Change of Uniforms to Steph or Klay or Dray or Wiggs.. BIG NO FOR EXCHANGE AGAIN especially to the ROOKS

  4. Klay gonna have to take that Russell Westbrook contract if he wants to stay and have a chance to win he’s not worth the money

  5. Klay is a great player. Easily worth 4yr 100/120mil. Heck Jordan poole is getting that much. He's helped the warriors win many game this season, it's a shame his last performance sucked but he's been playing really well. Deffo teams out there that would love to sign klay! He's getting pain regardless but deffo don't think he'll be on Warriors

  6. Question…do any of the following players make the Warriors contenders again? Demarr Derozan, Mikal Bridges, or Lauri Markkanen

  7. The sad truth about the warriors is everywhere like tenth in the conference with older players and a coach who doesn’t play his young players like 36 years old steff and 35 Green and 35 Klay 35 and Chris paul 38 and the young players outplayed the starters

  8. The media will say anything to break this warriors team…

If they rebuild who are they rebuilding with?.. Even the rebuild will it guarantee their winning?
